Food was delicious and the staff are amazing and work extremely hard. Good quality fresh food. Only downside was the smoking area at the front of the pub meaning there was a strong smell of smoke. Shame as otherwise a perfect spot for Sunday lunch.

Fabulous Sunday lunch, full lamb roast with all the trimmings including home made Yorkshire pud and apple crumble and watching the footie too

Greeted by lovely, friendly staff Chose Cheese and Onion pie and chips, both homemade and extremely tasty, lovely pastry on the pie. Also had Crème Brûlée which was excellent. Great food, worth a visit

My mum is visiting from Cornwall and we fancied treating ourselves to a traditional Sunday roast whilst the hubby is away in London ! We went for the roast beef which was melt in the mouth delicious ! The food and service were absolutely excellent ! Both my Mum and I cleared our plates it was so good ! Highly recommended and an absolute must try in beautiful Old Glossop ! Thanks so much Ladies xx

Sunday dinner is one of the best in the area. I had lamb, others had beef and pork loin. All very well cooked, generous sides and Yorkshire puddings to die for. Great atmosphere too.

Called a couple of times over the last month or so and each time the pub was busy but not packed so we managed easily to get a seat. Nice atmosphere The beer selection is good and well kept so it makes a good pub for a quick drink ot maybe more

Absolutely amazing! Food was spot on, we’ll definitely be going back for more! Me and my family ordered the sharing platter and I ordered the Chilli Con Carne and it tasted amazing!

We went here on Sunday with my brother who has learning disabilities. A lovely warm welcome by young lady behind the bar. Great table as my bother has a leg shorter than the other.so needs plenty of room( no problem). Food was really yummy & nice portions ( excellent Sarah & kitchen team) A really nice waitress,great service & sports on TV for my brother to glance at. Prices are good. All the staff are just lovely & good at their jobs.would recommend the commercial pub in Glossop to anyone. Thankyou for a lovely lunch & we will be back soon . Thank you Tracey

Hi booked a meal last Sunday it’s a place we wanted to try but never got round to it so decided to try a Sunday lunch there with family the reviews of this place are great so to say I was disappointed is an understatement, four meals and only one was ok all the other three had faults the chips / wedgies where so undercooked they where actually raw the outsides where dark brown where they had been in the fryer but some of the undersides were white my wife and daughter in-law didn’t try them right away so when we complained at the end of the meal we where told we should have complained before we started but we didn’t know until we had started the meal. No sorry or an anything. I don’t think a proper chef would have plated them up overpriced mediocrity won’t go in again and wouldn’t recommend

A lovely place to go any day of the week, whatever the weather. Went in today for a rainy lunch and was greeted by lovely staff. Showed us to a table and promptly took our drinks order. The food came out piping hot, lovely presentation and didn’t take too long at all. The waitress was very helpful and came back over to check everything was ok (bonus points for this)!! A lovely little pub with an excellent choice of food, beers, wines and spirits. Looking forward to going back again!

Booked a table for today and the food was exceptional. Nice friendly service and good selection of drinks. One of our party is gluten free and she was impressed with the menu presented to her and really enjoyed her meal. A big, fat recommendation.

It took one hour for our food order to be taken after we had already had to ask for menus and then ask twice if we could order food. We had been completely forgotten about despite several attempts to get served. The lady who served us was lovely but it is not okay to wait for one hour. The food was your nice standard pub food. I had the beef Sunday roast and the beef was lovely. If we weren’t waiting to be served for so long the stars would have been higher but it really ruined the experience.

We went to a Captain of the Lost Waves gig last night. The sound guy did a brilliant job on clarity, balance and volume - perfect! We'll be going to more events! The Captain was on form too, do see him if he's performing near you. The Commercial is a surprisingly large and comfortable pub with a friendly atmosphere. They serve a wide range of drinks at moderate prices - the food looked great and has a good reputation, although we didn't eat there.

Our group of seven walkers were well received, and served a delicious meal in pleasant surroundings, by friendly and efficient staff. What more could one ask.

I have been going to this pub for many years and my favourite day to go is a Sunday, if you time it right with your food you can always stick around for the meat raffle at 6.30. It is a busy pub with excellent food and service, the meat raffle increases the good atmosphere that is already there and if you are luckily enough to win everyone celebrates with you. You do not have to go for food, they have a great selection of drinks on the bar, with friendly staff to serve. If Sunday’s not your thing then men’s darts and dominoes on a Monday, quiz night on a Tuesday, which is always a laugh, ladies darts and dominoes on a Wednesday, Thursday is pool night and then the weekend you are guaranteed a good night. Keep an eye out for any entertainment they have on, you wouldn’t want to miss it. There is also a function room upstairs which has its own bar.

Nice pint friendly, had food this Sunday. Food was really nice, fairly reasonably priced and all served piping hot.

absolutely horrendous!!! the food was clearly cooked from frozen which for the price was ridiculous, i wouldn’t be surprised if the kitchen was just a freezer and a microwave! after a long walk in the rain we were greeted by a snotty manager who clearly didn’t want to do their job, understaffed waitresses who, as sweet as they were, could not handle the copious amounts of tasks they were left to do single-handedly!!! the beer was probably the best part however i would avoid this pub at all costs.

Good food, good draught beer and six nations. Staff were very hospitable on our first visit. If you are visiting for the first time, you would be silly to miss the experience

We booked a table for 8 adults and one child (who cannot eat dairy) and all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Some had starters, we all had a main and some had dessert. Service was fantastic, as we weren't rushed, and I like the fact that we weren't constantly being asked if we needed anything else or if everything was okay, meaning we could just relax and enjoy our lunch. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent locals pub with a great selection of drinks. I first ventured in here in the early nineties when it was a Whitbread house but haven't been back in, probably over 20 years. Yesterday we decided to call in. Warm, welcoming and busy. Sky Sports, beautiful Robinson's Unicorn and a genuine community pub vibe.

The food was great and the waitress very pleasant. Just one complaint. Our bill was brought to us before we asked for it and while we were still drinking. Then the waitress arrived with the card machine for us to pay………while we were still drinking and talking! This really isn’t polite I don’t think. Otherwise….a lovely evening. Pity it was a bit spoilt.

The Commercial Inn has recently won local MP, Robert Largen's “Best Pub in the High Peak” award. The pub is located on the corner of Manor Park Road and Sheffield Road but doesn't have it's own car park although street parking is available. The pub was clean and well presented and comprises three rooms that could be described as the bar area, pool room and dining area. Three large muted TV screens were turned on in the pool room and bar areas. The bar staff were smartly dressed and very polite. A food menu was provided but it was necessary to ask for the lunchtime menu which was eventually received. Two real ales were on offer: Timothy Taylor Landlord and Sharp's Solar Wave Hazy IPA as well as a good selection of lagers, ciders, wines and spirits. We ordered a ciabatta from the lunchtime menu as well as a meal from the main menu. The food took 45 minutes to arrive and when received had garden peas instead of the mushy peas that were requested (not a deal breaker but does show inefficiency). The food was of good quality, tastey and well presented. The value for money was OK and if you are in the area it's well worth giving the Commercial Inn a try.

Great Pub! Good beer, nice people!

A lovely and welcoming traditional pub. We were a group out walking in the Glossop area and called in to shelter from the heavy rain. The staff kindly offered the warm radiators to place our clothing on to help to dry out our coats etc. The food served to other diners looked so good that we decided to stay to eat. The food we ordered was fantastic…excellent homemade pub food, hearty portions which was enjoyed by everyone. Particular mention to the friendliness of the staff. Highly recommend.

I absolutely love this pub, I can't even express how much! Anthony and Leanne who own it are incredible, they make/run their friendly community pub very homely and friendly! Dogs are welcome and I'm sure I've even seen a kangaroo once. Home cook food served and all kitchen staff and waitresses are so welcome and friendly. The pub does pub quizes and the world famous meat draw and if they don't sway you a crackling warm log fire with music and a glass of wine should. Atmosphere is everything and that's what this pub has. I don't often write big reviews but this genuinely deserves one.

Sunday dinner for the family. Tender leg of lamb, roast and mash, Yorkshire pudding, veg and gravy. absolutely delicious and excellent value for money at c£15 per head. The staff are really attentive, nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend you book. Cannot fault it. 🙌🏻

We were in Glossop on business and chose Sarah's Kitchen as a vegetarian friendly pub with very good ratings. We were not disappointed.

Considering we were visitors we were made extremely welcome, a good atmosphere with a good, friendly sense of humour. Thanks to "Mick" the taxi driver. This was our first visit to Glossop and it certainly won't be our last.

Completed a hike around Glossop / Peak District area so stopped by to have dinner there. It was very busy and we didn't have a reservation but the staff were lovely and accommodated us. I ordered their Sunday Roast lamb. Everything was excellent and portion was decent. Reasonable price. Friendly and attentive staff all the way through. Thank you! Highly recommend this place for their food and service.

Occasional bands in the upper room. On this occasion it was the Dirt Road Band who were excellent.

Firstly, the food was excellent. A great Sunday lunch and steak pie. The crumble was very good too. However the service was unacceptably slow. We sat down at 2pm and our food was served at 2.55. On this basis alone I cannot recommend, but if you don’t mind the wait enjoy your food.

Went for lunch with my mum, we both had a starter with a side and it was absolutely delicious, very fresh and tasty. We probably could of shared a portion of fries instead of having one each. Service was wonderful, very friendly and welcoming. Shame there isn’t much parking but we was lucky to get a space on the main road over the way.

Visited one evening while staying locally in Glossop. Separate eating from the rest of the pub makes for a more intimate dining experience. Food and service were excellent! Would definitely return.

We had a large family get together, where we stayed at the Queen's Arms, and sister pub, the Bulls Head. Everyone was extremely accommodating and friendly. I can't say enough about the hospitality. The surrounding area is beautiful.

I often have a problem with pub food these days. It is usually a huge plate of frozen chips accompanied by something flung out of the microwave so I usually go to a deli and get a good sandwich or go to a gastro pub....

Had a lovely lunch with the family, service with a smile. It's a lovely pub . Plenty of choice from the menu I had the beef and ale pie with chips ( real chips, not frozen) . Excellent Will definitely have again . 3 mains...

Eaten here twice before and enjoyed the food. Cheese and onion pie good and husband thought sausage and mash also good. Did have a wait for food but rather have freshly cooked than microwaved ping food. Kirsty served us and was very pleasant and friendly. Good atmosphere though not keen on all the big screens in the main bar area. It does have a small restaurant area which means you can get away from that. We will be back!

This pub is fab. We went on Thurs for lunch and had the fish & chips and a ceaser salad. Both were absolutely delicious. We also gad a caramel frappe and cappuccino which were delicious too. Definitely going back soon x
