The staff are lovely and very friendly. The fish is cooked to order. Large cod is big enough to share between 2 people and the chips are lovely and dry. There are always alternatives available too. Shame it's only open Monday to Friday.

Having moved down South 20 years ago I crave chips & gravy. The cosy cod did not disappoint, generous portions at very reasonable prices. The food was perfectly cooked & staff friendly. Would highly recommend.

I am diagnosed a retarded and dyslexic, I place an order through the website expecting delivery however I was by phone call that its was ready to collect, due to me only one functioning arm, I can collect, they refused to refund as I did not understand the website. They then put the phone down on me, leaving me feeling totally discriminated against.

This has got to be the best chippy in Manchester surely! Great service really nice people and really really nice food! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I was passing by and decided to pop in and grab some tea. As soon as I walked in we were welcomed with friendly staff. Unsure of what to have I was recommended the special. Chicken Jalfrezi with rice and chips for £6.50! I’m not a big fan of spicy food they assured me it’s wasn’t too spicy and even brought out a little taster. And they were right it was gorgeous with a little kick to it but filled with flavour. I ordered this and left with a really pleasant experience. The food was 10/10 and will definitely be going back for the foreseeable, the staff are brilliant aswell. I will post a photo of the chicken jalfrezi.

First time ordering from Cosy Cod and cannot fault it. The fish and chips were delicious and would totally recommend them. Loved how the fish were wrapped separately and the chips were in separate boxes too. Therefore everything tasted fresh and not soggy as you often get when all wrapped together. Will definately be ordering again 👍

Large fish and chips, mushy peas, meat and potato pie £12.60 so good value. This was a large chip's so I wouldn't bother with a small. They tasted great as did the fish. The peas were garbage! Utterly tasteless. The pie was good! Friendly staff.

Disappointing this time. Chips uncooked and not enjoyable. Normally never any problems and our first choice for Fish and Chips. Hopefully just a one off.

I placed my order Thursday afternoon for a 6pm delivery. I was informed by the app that the driver had left with my order at 17.45.I messaged the shop at 18.10 to ask if the driver was OK as it showed his vehicle still outside the shop. I noticed the vehicle begin to move at 18.15 and he finally arrived at 18.30ish. I asked where he'd been he said he was stuck in traffic which is hard to believe seeing as the shop owner said he left at 17.45 and his vehicle didn't move at all for 30 minutes.

Only 20 minutes late no biggy but, had to interven as the driver left my food on someone elses door step despite a clear description of my whereabouts, front door colour, gate and fence description. Had a notification to say delivered so lucky I caught him. Feel like I kinda caught the fish myself, something satisfying about that...

We normally love the food from here. Notably the fish is usually top quality but today one of the pieces had bones and they just did not seem to be of the same quality that we have had before. Chips and the curry sauce good as always. This may be a blip, especially after a bank holiday. It won't put us off for now though!

Everything was great except for the chicken wrap which was soggy, the salad appeared to have been cooked which wasn’t very nice.

You'll have to go a fair few miles to get a chippy as good as this one. Great fish and chips, which are not expensive either. It's a busy place which is always a good sign.
