Warm, friendly welcome from super staff. Lovely atmosphere with open fires and traditional bar with a good choice including a very well kept and pulled Timothy Taylor’s Landlord. Good portions of excellent food, the haddock, chips and mushy peas was outstanding, all served with a smile. Excellent value for money top pub grub, will definitely be back.

What a warm & cosy pub with homely food.

One of our local pubs, came for my mums birthday lunch. Staff friendly and efficient at serving. Food always tasty, found mine very salty but no one else had the same issue.

5 stars for everything! The service was great and very friendly. The atmosphere was lovely and we got a table next to the open fire. The food was outstanding! I had a meat feast parmo from the specials board,this needs to go on the main menu it's so good 💯

Lovely meal. We ordered a small Parma, pork medallions, sea bass and lamb chops.. Good friendly service. Didn’t have to wait long for the meals on a Saturday night. Will definitely back to try other menu options.

Sunday lunch today , lovely fresh veg (and plenty of it) lamb was very tender and gravy was amazing , staff all really lovely too

Can't fault this place. It has that nice local pub atmosphere, serves the best parmo in the area and is well priced. Best to book a table as it can get busy because it's so good.

Wow... what more can I say, food was amazing, tasted so good and no fatty bits on the meat, Best Steak and Ale pie With Mushrooms, chips and vegetables I've ever ate, definitely go back, staff were lovely and made you feel Very welcome, was cozy pub.

Lovely old country-style pub with good, home-cooked food for all ages and dietary requirements. The staff are lovely, very helpful, attentive and friendly. Service is excellent and there is a wide variety of choice on the menu. Children and dogs are welcome.

I'd not visited for years but popped in this evening with my mate Russ who's a local. Great to see it's still the same as it's always been, a lovely traditional pub with proper beers, a roaring fire, and great food !

Sunday lunch in The Crown has always been great, but today's meal was exceptional. The meat was succulent and the veg was fresh and beautifully cooked (the roast potatoes tasted like they must have been cooked by angels). The service was efficient and friendly, as always, and extra gravy was provided as soon as it was requested. Everyone around the table agreed the meal was wonderful. Those of us who had desserts were equally impressed and I don't even think I have the words to describe just how good my apple and blackberry crumble tasted.

Always get great meals and friendly service 7 days a week. Had Beef and Ale pie today which is a good size and very tasty.

Went for my brothers 30th and i really enjoyed it! I ordered the parmo and it was lovely, the staff were also very friendly. Will definitely be coming again

A very nice, family friendly place. An excellent GOOD food establishment. No loud SPORT only Televisions, and discreet background music. Always clean and tidy with wood burning fires that give that pleasant feeling. The smell of good home cooked foodmakes you want to stay for a meal. It would be best to phone and make a reservation for meals. Accepting both cash and card. Local artists do display work, which you can purchase. There is a small parking area, a few outisde seating benches and though it would be a struggle , disabled facilities. You must remeber this is not a town facility, and will have to drive to the venue; it would be more than worth the journey.

Lovely Sunday lunch hadn't booked a table and it was mother's day but they got me seated wonderful lunch beef 2 Yorkshire roast potatoes and ample veg then creme brulee for afters hubby had the chicken and jam sponge and custard to follow Lovely pleasant staff and very nice pub

Poor (very poor) service. Totally ignored on arrival, others served ahead of us, we had to ask if we were invisible. Food was good. Ordering of drinks and extras was also poor, two out of four drinks arrived. Luv was not busy so don’t understand why service was so bad.

Absolute delight this beautiful little pub.. we called by on our way back for yorkshire.. its just off the Yarm turn off.. if you are looking for somewhere to stop off... this is the place!! Lovely old country pub feel.. the food omg!! Is unreal every thing is home cooked and can tell it has been cooked with love.. we will defo be making the journey from home (newcastle) Just to visit here again..

Meal for four this afternoon, Large Parmesan, two Steak & Ale Pies and Cod and Chips, absolutely gorgeous and great value, followed by 4 amazing desserts. Highly recommended.
