Great night in the crown had some street food from the van which happens quite often, and we have also had the food from the crown itself, there was also a whisky tasting night so it was very busy so the atmosphere was really good ,and dog friendly so an added bonus if your visiting.😀

This is a delightful pub, with beautiful views, and such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The steak and ale pie was gorgeous and freshly made to order. We will definitely be back.

Currently on it's "winter hours" (open Thu/Fri/Sat 16:00-22:00). This is a small but amazing little pub providing four keg beers; (John Smith's, Moretti, Allendale Pennine Pale and Beavertown Neck Oil), and a range of bottled beers and ciders. This is a good, but not outstanding range, but caters to a range of tastes, but what makes the place special is the food. It is basic "pub-grub" (pies, fish and chips, chicken curry, chilli-con-carne etc.), but is perfectly cooked and at very reasonable prices. I had the homemade steak and ale pie, which was served with chips (not big, fat ones, but not "shoestring" ones either) which were crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle, and perfectly cooked carrots and garden peas (£10). This was followed by probably the best cheesecake I have had for 20 years (served with ice cream and fresh cream). All in all a great meal for less than £20 (excluding drinks). Well worth a visit!

Nice little Pub with a pleasant Landlord. Was just passing through, but if I lived locally would definitely use it often.

They are newly reopened, opened especially for the motor club finish venue. Tasty spread of snacks provided. Good luck to the business

Lovely set up. Super en suite and very comfortable bed. If you like a full english this is the place for you...hosts full of local information!
