Service was good and sandwiches good but disappointed in 'broccoli' soup - it was a bit watery and had no taste of broccoli, like a thin pea soup! Broth was OK.

Loved the decor and coffee in this place, scones amazing. Such a pity when it closed down, real loss to the area of much needed alternative to chain coffee shops.

This is the perfect place for a catch up with friends and a bite to eat. Food is always really nice, can’t fault the food and service.

This started out really well. My wife in particular liked the set up and the coffee and cakes were excellent. So not quite sure what seemed to go wrong. Yes it is a big unit and would have had to sell a lot of coffees. Maybe customers lingered in the nice surroundings and didn’t spend enough cash. Sad to see it go.

Second visit to cup and saucer and it will be my last. The menu is pretty limited and I am sure most people will struggle . I had the chicken wrap and was shocked at the tiny amount of chicken inside. I was going to order a scone but they do not keep cream , rather strange. The staff need to ensure that baskets are refilled with cutlery, napkins and condiments. I am not sure what this business is trying to do , in my opinion they are failing miserably. There is better to be had within a mile radius..

Lovely place, staff always friendly and helpful when I visit with my baby. Help make space for him even though tables quite close together. Good coffee, yummy cakes and generous sandwiches.

We have had quite a few visits to this normally excellent coffee shop however, on Sunday morning they were way off their game. We arrived just after opening at 10am and ordered coffee and bacon rolls. The waitress informed us that she had slept in and hadn't had time to go for the rolls or milk but she supposed she better do it as we had ordered. Off she went and came back a few minutes later with the rolls which turned out to be purchased, we think, from a garage! certainly not what we expect when paying a premium price for a bacon roll. Also, our waitress looked as though she had literally fallen out of bed into work and the same could be said for a few others of the staff. The last straw was when the chef was taking money at the till then returned to food preparation without washing his hands....big H&S fail! To the owner/manager of The Cup and Saucer, please don't allow the opening standards of this normally great coffee shop to drop.

Me and a friend decided to come here for Sunday brunch. The service is perfect, especially form the older lady with short hair (we thought she was the manageress). We even had a delicious sweet afterwards after a little temptation from the gorgeous display. Their cappuccinos are 10/10. Will definitely be coming back.

Popped in with a pal for a coffee but were very impressed with the menu, the staff and the attention to detail so we stayed for a 'wee lunch.' Food was excellent and the seats were very comfortable and we enjoyed our visit and will come back for more very soon. Staff were very attentive and the quality of food was a delight and well worth the few extra coppers.

Great Bistro to eat. We have often passed the place and have never got in, but last week we decided to try it and really enjoyed it. I had the Crushed avocado with tomato and poached free range egg with rocket served on rustic toast. Tasted delicious and arrived fresh and promptly. Great range of coffee and tea. We made it brunch but they serve a great breakfast menu and have a great display of cakes and scones, etc. Will be back. The decor is very rustic, yet contemporary. The price was economic as well.

Met a friend here for breakfast today and quality of service and feel about the place can’t be complained about. On the other hand, value for money was disappointing. I ordered toast and scrambled egg, this was served on one very thin slice of brown bread which was underwhelming. The menu doesn’t state one slice and I think most people would expect at least two. The amount of egg was decent. My friend ordered poached egg on toast with rocket and avocado. Again one slice of thin brown bread and the tiniest of poached egg (1) which could hardly be seen through the rocket over the top. Quality could not be faulted however I feel this wasn’t value for money as again most people would assume two slices of toast and two eggs for the £6.95 price. We had two coffees which were lovely and the home baking selection looked fab! I’ll be back for coffee and cake however not for breakfast. We did not complain as this is obviously standard portion size.

Nice cafe /restaurant. A couple of suggestions to improve rating : Have a choice of soup please - as one soup is not to all tastes-and please do not try to be too different with your ingredients as let’s face it- on a snowy day patrons prefer staples/ minestrone, lentil or hearty vegetable soups! Last thing - please put real heaters on- not the pretend “wood burner with fairy lights inside” patrons would welcome a hot radiator or even a plug in heater at their feet in this weather. However nice staff clean areas and nice cakes. Apply the above and fill star ratings will be given.

If you haven’t seen what has been done to this place then a drive past along the Ayr Road will let you know that the folks running it are making a really good go things. It looks inviting from outside, it is warm and comfortable inside and it has a relaxed atmosphere with nice things to eat and lovely coffee as well. Hopefully it will gain a good reputation and survive longer than other establishments in this local area have faired - good luck to the owners.

Had noticed this restaurant on Ayr road a couple of weeks back and rather than visiting our usual haunts we decided to give it a try. I am really glad we did as I thoroughly enjoyed the vegetarian wrap I had for lunch and my better half said her chicken wrap was also delicious

Thank you to Amy for looking after our table when our family came to have a delicious meal together. We ordered a variety of different meals across the menu and everything tasted amazing. Our drinks were replenished very rapidly and overall we were taken care of a great deal. Huge thank you to all of the friendly team, we will be back!

This is a great local hotel with a variety of food and a good selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Staff are excellent. My last visit was okay. Portions were average, though the food is good. I ordered the large fish but now wonder if the plates were mixed up, as the fish was standard and there were mushy peas whereas I asked for garden peas. Perhaps I should have queried. The starter was smallish but the sweet was excellent. My companion had the bill so I don't know the split of costs between alcohol and food but the total cost was £100, which seemed a lot. I would still go back, mind you and order with more care. Probably alcohol has increased in price. I drive so have Non alcohol equivalents. These cost about the same everywhere.
