What a lovely find in Bourton on the water popped in for a drink with the dog it’s was beautifully decorated for Christmas the place itself is amazing and the staff were super friendly we didn’t have food just drinks but the wine was very good

Visitor to area and called in for evening meal. Sorely disappointed by quality of food considering high prices. Good waitress service.

Lovely Sunday lunch with small but varied menu. Beef was excellent as was the horseradish sauce. Chocolate dessert was delicious. Attentive staff.

The service and food in this restaurant was outstanding. Our waiter went above and beyond to help my sister who is vegan. He checked to make sure there were other options for main courses, the atmosphere was lovely with beautiful decor. Would highly recommend. Xxxx

Visited for lunch and only wish we had time to return for dinner. Duck pancakes and goats cheese salad were both great, accompanied by really friendly and efficient service

Turned up on spec today, Bourton was extremely busy so not expecting space, but we asked if we could be seated, there was four of us. The guy showed us table inside the restaurant or we could have a table in the tee-pee out the back. This was heated, had its own toilets, bar and staff. We quickly found a table, placed our order for some of the street food on offer and drinks. The barrel on the cider needed to be changed, but our remaining drinks were quickly brought over to us. Our food followed shortly and this was piping hot and delicious. Would definitely go back

We visited the Dial House 8 years ago. Today we returned and the food and service were equally exceptional. Our waiter Scott was very friendly and a pleasure to meet. We can highly recommend this beautiful place in Bourton on the Water.

Nice ambience and a calm and relaxed atmosphere in the dining room. The menu is varied and our main courses were lovely. I’m coeliac and there were a number of main courses I could have. I didn’t have a starter but most of them were adaptable too. The desserts were disappointing though. Not in the quality of the desserts themselves (my husband had one that was delicious - so he told me). But in terms of gluten free options, almost all the desserts were either pastry or sponge based and not GF. I could only have one of them (panna cotta) and even then, it would have come minus a third of its elements.

Walked into the dial house for breakfast, without a booking. Ordered the full English and the quality of food was excellent. Staff were friendly and good selection on the menu.

So pleased we chose to eat here. Excellent, perfectly cooked and presented dishes. Very attentive staff.

We are staying here at the moment on a 2 night stay for our wedding anniversary. We have had a wonderful visit, all the staff have been so welcoming. Our room in the Coach House is lovely, perfect for a short break. We have had all our meals here, the food is beautifully cooked and very tasty. The evening meal menu is small, but the food is wonderful. We have been made to feel so welcome during our stay and can’t wait to come back.

Had sharing plates at the tipi, lovely food and fantastic atmosphere. The decor is lovely, staff friendly and it is also good for cocktails and drinks on an evening. A welcome addition to Bourton and a gem.

We had lunch at the restaurant on a busy Saturday. Staff were extremely friendly, and service was excellent. Food arrived promptly and was presented beautifully. We’ll prices and very tasty. We will be back!

We had an awesome meal to celebrate our granddaughter’s birthday! The food was top notch-well done chef! It was interesting that our son in law chose Eton Mess as a starter!! He is a dessert lover!! The welcome and attentiveness of the staff was outstanding We will be returning very soon to this jewel in the Cotswolds

What a surprise! Very good food in an excellent ambiance! Friendly staff, they do their work with pleasure, and that is nice!

We ate on the front patio which has a lovely atmosphere. But, that is basically where the great points stop. The server was not all that friendly at first but did come around after a while. The food was below standard to what you would expect from this caliber of restaurant. The carpaccio appetizer was very small and lacked flavour, perhaps a poorer quality of meat? The rib eye steak was the best of our meals but only ranked average. The pork belly was an absolute disaster. It was overcooked to the point of being burned. The rind so tuff you could not eat it. (We would have returned it except that it took so long to get out the first time!!). The duck was also over cooked. I would recommend you go there for a glass of wine in their backyard tipee or on the patio. Skip it for eating.

Went here for dinner. My daughter had the scallop starter. It looked absolutely delicious wish I had had it also. Main was duck and Ribeye steak both wonderful. The ambiance here is spot on. We sat outside. Everything was delightful. The choice of music softly playing in the background added to the ambiance. It isn’t a cheap restaurant but if you are looking for lovely food then this is the place. So glad we chose it.

We had a wonderful meal at The Dial House. The food was delicious, great service, very attentive and discret staff. My husband cannot recover after trying their Eton Mess dessert 😊. Highly recommend, absolutely lovely place!

Good food - a good choice The restaurant was nicely decorated The staff were friendly but definitely under pressure. We waited quite a while for our dishes to be cleared, my daughter had to go and ask. Deserts were disappointing though.

Stayed for a night at this lovely hotel. Ashley and team could not have done anymore for us. The room was spotless and 10 out of 10 for breakfast. We wish them every success for the future

We came midweek and pleased we were able to get a table.We both has starter and main. Starters Pate and Fishcake, mains: duck legs and salmon. I'd say the menu looks simple, but rather understated as all dishes were nicely presented and well cooked.Restaurant does have a cosy feel to it, service was good and I'd certainly recommend.

We had the best restaurant experience at the Dial House. The place looks picture perfect and cozy. We asked if they had any vegan options on the menu and the chef came out to walk us through the menu and offered a veggie galette that was off-menu on Sunday lunchtime. That one of the best vegan meals I’ve ever had it was so so good. The chef is lovely and very talented. Me and my two friends loved the place, really enjoyed the food and the lovely staff. Thank you

Pagué la factura y al salir me di cuenta de que la factura no era la barra que teníamos, así que volví para que me dijeran que los botones no funcionaban, por lo que el personal tuvo que poner comida diferente a la que teníamos pero equivalente a el precio de lo que habíamos pagado esto no es bueno considerando el precio que pagamos es algo que necesita ser resuelto y debe ser explicado a los huéspedes

Paramos para tomar una copa hoy. Con la esperanza de tener un asiento afuera, pero no es sorprendente que todos los asientos estuvieran ocupados. Nos sentamos adentro y bebimos en su lugar.El interior era tan oscuro y lúgubre y carecía de atmósfera. El servicio fue caótico. Parecía haber muchos clientes que se acercaban queriendo asientos afuera. Insistieron en esperar a que hubiera un asiento disponible. Escuchamos al hombre detrás de la barra diciendo que detendrán el servicio externo a las 4:30 pm. Era casi como si sus clientes externos fueran un inconveniente. ¡Loca! !Si yo fuera ellos, habría agregado al menos un par de mesas más en el frente para acomodar a los clientes. Están ubicados en una posición privilegiada para el sol, y una de las razones por las que la gente quiere beber allí. Sin embargo, no parecen querer aceptar esto.Nos sentimos tan incómodos en su, mi compañero se bebió su cerveza, dejé la mitad de mi vino y me fui. ¡No estaba cómodo allí en absoluto!

¡Tuvimos la estancia más maravillosa en The Dial House! La única decepción, nuestra culpa, fue que solo tuvimos una noche, ¡así que definitivamente volveremos! Nuestra habitación era súper relajante y cómoda. Baño exuberante con bañera enorme y ducha separada. La cama y las almohadas eran extremadamente cómodas y nos hicieron darnos cuenta de lo basura que son las nuestras jajaja. Todo estaba muy limpio, tanto en nuestra habitación como en la maravillosa habitación donde desayunamos. Un desayuno inglés completo y 1 huevo escalfado sobre una tostada que eran 10/10. Nos dieron una bienvenida muy agradable y todo el personal fue amable y servicial. El hotel tiene una bonita zona para sentarse en la parte delantera para tomar té y pasteles, etc. y un bonito jardín con una gran zona de asientos en la parte trasera, que también es un poco más privada. Punto a favor: mucho espacio para estacionar. Recomiendo encarecidamente una estancia aquí: x

Lovely to sit in the autumn sunshine on the terrace to people watch Great service - good cake and scones and reasonable prices.

Maravilloso lugar para quedarse. Habitaciones cómodas y limpias, buen aparcamiento y personal encantador, amable y servicial. El desayuno era muy sabroso y había un buen sistema para reservar un espacio cronometrado para evitar el hacinamiento en la sala de desayunos para cumplir con el distanciamiento social. La ubicación, un poco alejada de la carretera, pero en el centro del pueblo, no podría haber sido mejor. Esperamos volver de nuevo.

Me encantó quedarme aquí, pero desearía que hubiera más atmósfera, ¡es comprensible que la falta de gente debido a COVID hubiera hecho una diferencia en la atmósfera! Pero aparte de eso no me puedo quejar de nada. . precio, limpieza y desayuno todo genial. . ¡y las chicas que trabajan allí nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos! !

Mi esposo y yo pasamos una noche en este maravilloso y atmosférico hotel. Nuestra habitación estaba llena de carácter y teníamos una vista magnífica de la parte delantera del hotel con vistas a la calle principal. Hay un gran jardín muy bien cuidado en la parte de atrás con una carpa y muchos asientos. Todo el personal fue muy amable y atento. Por la mañana nos recibió una cara amable que nos mostró nuestros asientos para el desayuno en el área del restaurante, el desayuno era muy sabroso y estaba caliente. Nos ofrecieron más tostadas, tés y cafés. Ashley, el gerente ha hecho un trabajo fantástico con el hotel junto con todo el personal. Es un hotel encantador con mucha personalidad en el corazón de los Cotswolds.

We spent a lovely hour having drinks in the garden where we were served by Beth and Megs who could not have been nicer. They were both very friendly and professional and our little stop off certainly enhanced our experience of Bourton on the Water.

El personal estaba de pie, por lo que podría haber ido fácilmente al bar para recoger. 5. La comida estaba bien, nada especial. Los pasteles de pescado se facturaron como salmón y cilantro, sin embargo, parecía ser una falta grave de cilantro. Fueron muy insulsos. A Buger le vendría bien un bap de pan casero, ya que el pan lo defraudó. Lugares mucho mejores en Bourton para comer.

Fui hoy y tuve un servicio extremadamente lento / pobre. Tomó 20 minutos para que alguien tomara nuestro pedido y luego otros 45 minutos para que llegara la comida. La comida era pobre, frita y congelada y los pasteles de pescado eran 95% de papa. Incluso con el 50% de descuento, ¡todavía era caro para lo que recibimos! Además, solo tienen un baño para todo el restaurante, por lo que hay una cola adicional de 15 minutos para eso y no hay nada disponible para desinfectar el asiento, etc. Entiendo que es un feriado bancario ocupado con ayuda para comer fuera de eso, pero esto es no hay excusa para la mala comunicación del personal y la mala comida.

Had a lovely stay in this hotel, it made our break away to be honest, the villages power supply went down and the staff where amazing Beth, Meg an Amara couldn’t of made us any more comfortable, room was amazing had a lovely sleep and breakfast was good too! Deffo would love to go back there

Booked a v last minute few days away. Hotel check in was lovely, all the staff really pleasant. We were located in the Coach House which was just next to the hotel. Room was fine and bathroom had plenty of Elemis bathing products which was a nice plus. We were booked in as B&B but if you can get a rate without the breakfast then do. It was far from adequate for an adult, and each morning we both requested toast we got just one slice each! Couldnt fault anything else, nice outdoor seating but we didnt use any other facilities.

Stopped here for a drink as it is situated in the heart of Bourton On The Water, but the prices were expensive for what you got. They charged £3 for a can of Diet Coke and £3.20 for a San Pellegrino.

Visited here several times over a 3 week stay and can't fault it. Food, service and location all perfect. We were served several times by a new member of staff who is at Manchester Uni and she deserves a special mention..didnt think to ask her name until we had left but she was so lovely and helpful.

Hermosa e histórica casa en el centro de Bourton on the Water. Para nosotros fue ideal ya que el clima era horrible (¡Tormenta Dennis!) Con la acogedora área de recepción que ofrecía un fuego rugiente. El personal es amable y servicial. El fin de semana fue un éxito a pesar del clima gracias a la ubicación de este hotel cerca de varios pubs, restaurantes y tiendas individuales. Agregue a esto el viaje esencial al Museo del motor (imprescindible si tiene un esposo como el mío que está loco por el automóvil), nuevamente a pocos pasos de nuestro alojamiento.La habitación que teníamos era una pequeña doble (típica de booking.com) y creo que hay habitaciones mucho mejores disponibles. Sin embargo, la nuestra era acogedora y adecuada, muy limpia y un encantador baño privado con toques agradables, como artículos de tocador Elemis y un baño con jacuzzi. No está mal. Encantadora ducha de agua caliente y buena cama cómoda.El desayuno es excelente y ofrece una gran elección. El servicio también es excelente, amable, educado y atento sin ser intrusivo.Solo marcado por uno ya que no hay opción para cenar y esto lo haría perfecto en mi libro.

Visited for morning hot drinks - nice venue but very quiet when we visited, just had tea but a very pleasant hotel and my wife particularly enjoyed the Elemis hand products in toilets - I suspect that in season this would be a very busy place to visit!

We loved our stay- our room was large, beautiful and comfortable with a giant claw foot bath. The breakfast included in the stay was absolutely delicious. Also friendly staff and perfect location, easy parking. Would stay again!

Wunderbarer Cream Tea - Das Dial House liegt etwas anseits aber ist sehr charmant und mit gutem Service. Preisleistungsverhältnis ist mehr als Ok. Einziges Manko - nur eine Toilette für alle Besucher.

We recently visited the Dial House with our two young children, after a slightly harrowing drive in very, very heavy rains from Bristol it such a relief to arrive in the tranquil cosy calm of the Dial House. We sat in front of a roaring fire and enjoyed a well deserved cup of tea and some freshly baked scones. Our room was great, decorated in neutral tasteful tones with a very comfy bed, our room had an adjoining small room with a single bed for our daughter and they added a camp bed for our son to the main room, we had plenty of space and it was lovely and quiet even though the hotel is literally in the middle of village. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming during our stay and we loved the freshly cooked breakfast and a properly made flat white. Bourton-on-Water is a very picturesque Cotswold village so it’s a popular spot and there’s tons of stuff for children there. We particularly loved the Motor and Toy museum which is definitely worth visiting and we also loved just walking alongside the river watching the wildlife and crossing over the miniature bridges. We hope to visit again in Spring the children just loved it.

This Hotel is in the best position for sight seeing. We have stayed a long weekend and we will be coming back next year. Lovely hotel and gardens to relax in. Breakfast was good and service from staff very good.

We decided to visit the Cotswolds to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We were happy to pay a bit extra to stay in a central hotel with good reviews and a so called “awesome” room. The room as it turned out wasn’t in the least awesome, it was gloomy and depressing. (Room 3) the staff and breakfast were good but the gloomy room spoiled it for me. Awesome should mean awesome!

This hotel is situated in the heart of Bourton, very handy, leave the car and explore the town.A very atmospheric hotel, we stayed in the adjacent coach house which is very well appointed and comfortable with a nice bathroom, tea and coffee etc.One downside is the hotel hasn't got a restaurant for evening meals but does do a nice breakfast, great staff and very comfortable throughout.

My husband and I are so fortunate to have found this lovely, lovely place! Yesterday and today we have had the most lovely breakfasts! Served by Scott, who also mans the front desk! Personality plus! And a perfect breakfast with ample choices, quality food and comfortable, very pleasing dining room! Thanks Scott! Thanks Dial House!!

It has been a few years since I last visited The Dial House, we decided to sit in the garden at the front of The Dial House. Hubby went to the bar to order the drinks, I would have loved soda water or a sparkling water but there was no water available!! We both had a bottle of cider each costing £10.

Not a massive menu but lovely food - massive door step sandwiches and fabulous ham ... lovely salads too - sat outside in the front - there’s a garden out the back too - child and dog friendly - really recommend.

Came here to try a different place. Don’t serve evening meals. Reception is a bit scatty and seems to be crowded with many staff. Bar limited. Rooms ok and clean. Would maybe consider again but very expensive for what you get

We went to the Dial House for an afternoon tea, among so many places to choose at Bourton on the Water. We were very happy with our choice as the food was amazing, you can tell they use only fresh ingredientes and that they must have a really good chef. I found the food impeccable and the afternoon tea well served. Me and my husband ordered only one and shared, and it was quite enough! The place itself is beautiful and very classic, as if you were back in the time! Really worth a visit!

Visited on a nice summers day and stopped for two double Gin and Tonics (only Bombay sapphire!) ... Which to my shock came to £23.50!!!

We stayed at the Dial House for 3 nights. A ‘chocolate box’ appearance in beautiful gardens where one can sit back and relax. Although at the heart of the village it is peaceful and quiet. A warm welcome awaited us. All the staff went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. A very, clean, comfortable and well equipped accommodation. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning with a selection to suit varied tastes. We didn’t want to leave and are already planning our next visit. Thank you all again for a memorable stay.

We stayed at The Dial House for 3 nights. A lovely historic establishment where you can also get lunch and afternoon tea, also open to the public. Unfortunately dinner is no longer served there but plenty of eating establishments to choose from within a 1 minute walk.There is a small bar with a lovely lounge to sit in near an open fire, if it's cold, or a lovely outside seating area to the front and rear of the property. The property is nestled back from the road between shops and has a private green in front. We loved our stay here. Our room was lovely - not flash, but very clean and warm. The staff were all so friendly. We would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed a nice lunch albeit a bit pricey but I hate it when I get the bill with service charge already included when you are not expecting it. Almost, without exception, I leave a tip but don't approve of it being included when it's not expected especially if the service is not tip-top. So, they didn't get their 12.5%

A lovely greeting when we arrived to book in,staff very helpful showed us to our room which was very clean and spacious,tea coffee facilities iron and hairdryer, ideal location in the thick of it but set back enough for peace and quiet,lovely front and garden at rear to relax in.

Burton-on-the-water is full of nice small restaurants, but after a great lunch and afternoon tea at the Dial House, we found ourselves coming back for afternoon refreshments. Beautiful old building and lovely outdoor terrace plus very friendly staff.

Thank you for a lovely stay at Your hotel. Breakfast was lovely the room very comfortable and the shower amazing. Fantastic location. If I was to moan about one or two things it would be the cost of your alcoholic drinks. A little to expensive (£30 for two gin and tonics)and with little very care and attention when it comes to adding a slice of lemon and other drink additives. We had to keep on asking for a slice of lemon and so did other guests. At one point my wife was actually handed a full lemon. Not very bar professional unfortunately. Also please try and get some real ales and a proper bar. Am sure there could be massive improvements made in that area.

What a competely wonderful place to sit and just relax in fabulous surroundings, we only called in for a drink but the food being served looked incredible ...This is the place to visit, or even stay when in this part of the country

We visited the hotel on a sunny afternoon in June and sat in the garden. We went inside and placed our order for a cider and 3 hot drinks and paid immediately. We took the cider with us and the hot drinks were brought to our table. When checking the receipt recently I realised that we paid £1.86 service charge which says is optional. I was very disappointed at this because I felt it should have been pointed out to me. If I had known that I was being charged £1.86 I would have waited and taken the tray myself.

Habiendo pedido 3 tés y 1 café (3.30 cada uno), nos sorprendió recibir una factura por 19. 80. Se esperaba que pagáramos esto antes de que llegara nuestro pedido pero, como la caja se había quedado sin papel, en realidad lo recibimos a mitad de la bebida. Esto nos permitió inspeccionar la factura y, para nuestro asombro, se había agregado una propina 'opcional' que costaba 6. 60 (50%). Empeoró: cuando fui a pagar, me dieron otra factura y esta fue más que la primera.

Had a fantastic all be it short stay at the Dial House. Exceptionally clean room and very comfortable bed. Breakfast was fresh and good quality all round. Staff were great and very polite. Fabulous location and very relaxing environment. Look forward to going back.

Loved our newly remodeled room, bathroom/shower was great, wonderful amenities, friendly staff and near center of town. We’d definitely stay here again!

We stayed one night and it was fabulous. The Irish waiter was absolutely fantastic and assisted us with anything we needed. It felt like home and so comfortable . We had a great breakfast too and checkout at 11.

Mi novio y yo reservamos para quedarnos en la casa de Dial para mi fin de semana de cumpleaños el 15 de diciembre. Al estar en el mío reservamos esto hace aproximadamente un mes, hace seis semanas. . de todos modos, manejamos casi tres horas para llegar allí, y para nuestra sorpresa, una vez que llegamos a una propiedad vacía sin nadie respondiendo a nuestros golpes, decidimos revisar la reserva. com aplicación y vio que habían cancelado nuestra reserva sin notificación. . No hay correo electrónico, no hay llamada, absolutamente nada. También hubo dos clientes cercanos que dijeron que les había pasado exactamente lo mismo. Es una broma absoluta y todo nuestro fin de semana se arruinó. Mi novio también había reservado una comida en el Señor de la mansión a la que ahora ha incurrido en gastos de cancelación.

Reservamos para un fin de semana romántico en los Cotswolds, no nos decepcionó. Precioso hotel de aspecto exterior, muy tradicional. La amable y agradable recepcionista nos llevó hasta el piso superior a la habitación 16, pasos un poco confusos y desiguales debido a que es un edificio tan antiguo que no fue un problema para nosotros, pero alguien con problemas de movilidad habría luchado. También tuvimos que agacharnos para conseguirlo. En nuestra puerta, como estábamos en los aleros, nos gustó que este pedazo de nuevo no sea para todos. Nuestra habitación era grande, con una cama de buen tamaño, un armario, mesas de noche y estanterías, además de un escritorio con menaje para preparar té y café y un espejo independiente de tamaño completo. Aunque había dos sillas, no había ningún lugar para peinar y maquillar, ya que la zona del escritorio no estaba No tengo un espejo, así que tuve que sentarme en el suelo, otra vez bien para mí, pero no estoy seguro para todos. Una cama súper cómoda y un baño grande y bonito con una buena ducha y una selección de productos Elemis encantadores (no lo suficiente para una estadía de fin de semana, por desgracia, y no se reponían). El desayuno los dos días era muy bueno, la comida de buena calidad bien hecha. Me decepcionó un poco que no hubiera ambiente en el bar y en el salón, pero creo que eso no tiene nada que ver con el hotel y más que ver con los huéspedes, pero hemos estado esperando una bebida junto al fuego, no pudimos hacerlo. ¿Esto, como los cachorros, hemos sido las únicas personas en la sala que no sea la recepcionista? la ubicación del hotel era estupenda, justo en el centro de la ciudad y nuestra habitación tiene vistas al río y al árbol de Navidad.

Pasamos por Dial House para ver si tenían disponibilidad ese día. El propietario era muy servicial y nos dio una habitación tranquila perfecta con mucho espacio (viajábamos con un niño de 2 años). La habitación era estupenda y el hotel es ideal si quieres estar a pocos pasos de todo en Bourton. Y el desayuno era genial. . . El mejor pan que tuvimos en nuestro viaje de 2 semanas a través de Inglaterra.

Very expensive cream tea and disappointing. The worst I have ever had! It’s a shame because the hotel is nice and in a beautiful village.

Reservamos una mesa en el restaurante Dial House, hace 2 noches, ya que el menú que vimos en línea se veía muy bien con una amplia variedad de platos. Desafortunadamente, el menú que nos presentaron en la noche, no se parecía al en línea y era realmente muy limitado. Si puedo recordar correctamente los platos principales consistía en un plato de pescado, un plato vegetariano y una elección de 2 hamburguesas. No podemos comentar sobre la calidad de la comida, ya que decidimos comer en otro lugar, después de expresar nuestra decepción al personal. No estamos diciendo que evite este restaurante, pero si desea reservar, consulte el menú que se ofrece para evitar decepciones.

The staff are all charm personified. This always goes a very long way with me. Simple and elegant are the words I would use.

All of us had the basil crusted lamb rump for our main course. We shared the bruschetta and the mozzarella and Serranoham for starters. We were servedd by a delightful waitress who came origanelly from Hungary

Friendly staff and fantastic food! We had one issue with the scones (overcooked) but the staff dealt with it quickly and returned with 4 fresh ones for us. No complaints - So tasty! I will be returning - picture says it all!

I stayed at Dial House and was completely bowled over by the personal service I got from everybody who worked behind the counter, serving food, and taking care of the beautiful property. I honestly wish I had remembered some of the names of the people who were so nice to me, but I came a long way, from Salt Lake City, Utah to Bourton-on-the-water, and they all made me feel as if I was at a home away from my home. Five stars? You bet! If I am ever lucky enough to find my way back to England, hopefully this will be my first stop and I will get to stay longer than the 3 days I did in July.

Service was fine but the food disappointed. My wife had a cheese and tomato sandwich which was bland at best, I had a BLT on brown which was made with such small slices of lovely artisan bread that it was half the size I expected. This, a bottle of IPA and a sparkling water came to about £30. Certainly not value for money in my view and I felt a bit like a local sheep that had been fleeced.

After much walking and having time to spare I called on this place after looking at the outer menu which had no prices. The interior was clean, old but rather dark. At the bar we discussed the wines and I eventually had a glass of Merlot at £6.50.

First visit to Bourton and I was amazed at how packed with tourists it was.

After travelling cross country on the way up from Dorset (it helps to avoid the motorways) we decided to stop at Bourton for lunch, as it had been years since we’d been there.

We stayed at the dial house in 2016 and had a WONDERFUL nights stay. We returned last night for food and it was lovely! I've seen some reviews on the service but our service was spot on. Water was brought to the table straight away. Once we had ordered drinks came and it wasn't a long wait for food. We were asked if we wanted to sit inside or out. We didnt feel like we were pushed on a table we didnt want which is a thing i hate. We both had a pasta dish which was very tasty.

We came for a romantic weekend away and the Dial House did not disappoint! We arrived late Friday night and were shown into our room overlooking the river. It was a room full of charm and character, with exposed wooden beams and the comfiest of beds. Exactly what we hoped for when booking for the Cotswolds. Breakfast the next day (full english) was superb. It set us up for a full day of sightseeing before coming back for a dinner reservation. The hotel is in a central area in Bourton so you are right where you need to be. At all times the reception team were an absolute joy; friendly, hospitable, and great at what they do. Our stay had an extra element to it (I was to propose to my girlfriend) - the staff were absolutely brilliant in helping me in this quest and set up our room with all the balloons and decorations whilst we were out on the Saturday evening, leaving a perfect surprise for my fiancee when we returned. It was the best stay, and we would recommend the Dial House to anyone seeking a true Cotswolds experience over and over again.

Came here for our anniversary meal. First of all the food was delicious and we loved it. The service however was somewhat lacking. If I am paying top prices for food and drink I expect quality service. Perhaps it’s because the gratuity is automatically added to the bill that staff don’t feel the need to try.

Lovely friendly staff (they need more of them as there were only two front of house.) It took about an hour to get our food and then it was very small potions. We were going to order pudding but didn't want to be there until midnight waiting!! Food was good but London prices so slightly over priced for local market. If service was quicker it would be more acceptable but an hours wait and 12.5% tip automatically added to your bill they are having a giraffe!

Booked a weekend away for my husbands birthday treat. Was a little worried after previous reviews.

We often stay in Bourton the Water to break up our long journey south and have tried most of the local restaurants in town However this was our first vist to Dial House We booked a table for two at 1830 because the receptionist asked us to come early because they had a party of 12 arriving at 1900 We duly arrived on time the receptionist was sitting in a very narrow hall eating her dinner on her lap not a good impression We ordered dinner my wife a salad and Sole fish dish for my self with a the basket shared bread basket The basket arrived which contained very sad looking pre sliced bread We then waited 50 mins for our main course My wife's salad was ok ! However my large plate was half covered with salad and basically a fish finger I am not prone to exaggeration When asked if everything was ok I said no and wondered if a mistake had been made as I was expecting a portion of fish with new potatoes etc It was explained that I had been given this amount of Sole as that would have the same cost as a Cod I The only other couple who where in the restaurant then also threatened to walk out In fairness I was not charged for my dinner but money was not the issue I am about to write a report on the Broadway Hotel in Broadway where we stayed the next night and would suggest the management of the Dial try one of their dinners fantastic I would also point out the staff are pleasant

The hotel is so pretty to look at and Kate on reception was a pleasure to talk to. We stopped in the small room, no 6. It was big enough for us and very clean. Breakfast the first day was delivered within 5 minutes and we had perfect attention from the waiter. However, Monday morning, it took about 20 minutes for our breakfast to arrive and we had difficulty getting the waiters attention to get butter for our toast and salt for the eggs on toast. However, I would highly recommend stopping here. It is perfect for location and our breakfast, both times, was hot

We first went here for a drink in the afternoon and were very impressed by the friendlyness of the staff especially Rhian. It was because of her and the ambiance of the Dial House that we returned for an evening meal. We were not disappointed. 5 star food and service. Everything cooked to a high standard. The wine selection is very good and the prices reasonable. We returned in the afternoon of our last day to have our last glass of wine and sat in the sun to people watch. Highly recommended.

After a recent inquiry about booking the hotel for a large group next year, to essentially take over the whole hotel for a couple of nights, we were invited to visit the hotel for a show around which we attended.

I went to the Dial House for lunch today and it was amazing we both had the Burger and it was amazing, the service was very good and attentive without being rushed well done we had a lovely meal

Family meal on the patio front of the building in the sun. What a great relaxing location. Original plan was to sit out back in the gardens, but were smoked out by what we’re still confused by an open feature fire ?

We walked into this pub/hotel for a drink on Saturday night but we're refused service, it was a bit of a shock as the lady behind the bar said they were far to busy for customers and they were only dealing with guests staying at the hotel, the shock was because there was nobody in the bar area and only one couple at the bar at the same time as us, I found her attitude to be rude and stuck up, we left the bar and will not be returning in the near future. From the outside it looks like a lovely place but we felt if your face does not fit you won't be served and yet we were all dressed up for dinner so I don't know what the problem was, never mind we had a great meal at the Croft .

Beautiful place, but they wouldn't serve us without buying an expensive meal. Very arrogant personnel

Myself and a friend tried this place on a day trip. We were seated quite quickly on a busy Saturday lunch time. I initially ordered a lime and lemonade to drink, however was told that they had run out of lemonade! Not the best start! So we both ordered coffees which took at least 20 minutes to arrive.

My family and I arrived on time for our reservation. We waited in front of 2 staff members at the front counter for 15 minutes without so much as an acknowledgement. Neither staff member attempted to hurry themselves and made it seem as though we were an imposition. The waitress was asked if there was a sauce for the steak before ordering and we were advised that a peppercorn sauce could be arranged. After an hour wait, our food arrived. Steak over done and without sauce. We asked the waitress whether we could please have the sauce and were told they didn't have any. Instead we requested tomato sauce and mustard for the fries. Out came tomato and Bernaise. Never so much as an acknowledgment. The food was edible, but average. Wait staff were not very friendly or attentive. During our visit one other couple asked for a refund, and the other couple had been waiting an hour and were getting ready to leave. This was in a room with 4 tables. It seems like then owners need to look at the feedback they are getting and to take it on board, as the establishment is really beautiful and in a great location. The lack of service and organisation really let's it down.

Me, my sister and nephew came here a few days ago on a lovely sunny day. The front garden was beautiful, with the blossom falling from the tree. Food was very yummy, and great service from the waitress. She made us feel happy to be there! Thanks for a great lunch and I definitely recommend eating here. My halloumi salad was soo good though probably because I love my food I would have preferred more halloumi on the salad. .

Ordered meatballs and a pizza, they arrived with meatballs and chicken... they then had to cook the pizza. 15 minuets later I had finished my meal and then the pizza came out.
