Despite having had pre ordered and prepaid for Xmas meals, and being informed it was table service, we constantly had to chase, drinks, sides, deserts and being told to go and get your carvery, Despite this the food was lovely, hot, and the service from our waitress was fantastic, but for organisation very poor.

Fish in batter was so dry, couldn't cut it, thin & was not eaten. Very disappointing.

I organised a Christmas meal for our Ramblers group. There were 19 of us. From start to finish everything went smoothly. The booking was easy and pre-chosing menu items was easy. The meal and service was way above expectations. Thanks to Katie and Louise and all the other staff for making our lunch very enjoyable.

Our Christmas meal experience was far superior to our previous visit two weeks ago. We were warmly welcomed by Katie who went over and above to make our Christmas dinner experience really special. The food was delicious. Well cooked and tasty. The vegetables had also been cooked properly; still crunchy! Having visited last Christmas we felt that serving the main meal via the carvery was an improvement. Last year servers brought all elements to the table. Having the carvery meant a good choice of food was available. From booking the meal to paying the bill everything ran smoothly!

Christmas lunch was well worth the money. Pleasant relaxed atmosphere and not rushed by staff.

Food was worse than spoons, more expensive too But conveniently located with a decent selection of pints.

Spcial event after work, pleasing atmosphere

Food was cold and meat was tough. Group of 4 adults, 2 kids and 2 toddlers took almost an hour for our food to be served. Cakes were dry but ice cream and other desserts were decent. Staff were friendly but stretched.

Tina was lovely and made our visit all the better. Her friendly personality was a refreshing change The food was lovely and we would ŕeccommend ìt to fàmìĺý and friends. Vida was very attentive and nothing was to much trouble

My food was AMAZING, and came quite quickly. My server, Tina, was also extremely kind and nice, and made my whole experience enjoyable. Overall, I would really recommend coming!!

Set meals were good but the Carvery was barely warm and the roast potatoes had been left out so long they were rubbery.

Really helpful and friendly staff, nice check backs and the food was good. Cleared plates away promptly and the whole venue appeared clean and well looked after.

Service was quick and staff friendly. Had fish and chips which was delicious. Food was hot and freshly cooked. Prices are reasonable. Tables not too close together.

Overall this was a great experience. I brought my son and family to celebrate my granddaughters birthday. The service was exceptional, our food was excellent. I have had many carveries but this exceeded my expectations. I have to say a huge thank you to the staff who moved my booking as I was delayed. They were superb. I would highly recommend The Dragonfly to fellow patrons.

We booked for 5pm on a Sunday. We were told on arrival that the pork was running low. When we went to.order, we were told the carvery meat had all ran out apart from gammon. This was very disappointing as we booked in the hopes of having a roast. We all chose something different (the 5 of us that originally were going to have roast). The burgers that were ordered for the children as plain, came with salad in them, not a big deal to most, but with fussy children it was. The children's tomato pasta only came with one piece of garlic bread. In the menu ut says 2. I had to show the menu to prove it as the staff were adamant I was wrong. The food was good, mostly. Just the children's chicken breast burger was very dry and so didn't get eaten at all, and the rump steak was extremely chewy and had a big bit of gristle through it. It's a shame we didn't have a good experience, this was out second visit and the first visit wasn't the greatest either. We have a large family, 3 adults and 6 children, so it's not just a small cost to go for meals.

The booking was very easy and I was able to reserve my favourite table No 32. Service was freindly and efficient. All food arrived promptly - a nice fresh prawn cocktail followed by a perfectkly cooked stealk exactly as specified (true medium - nice and pink but no rare). I have taken visiting freinds here on quite a few occasions and will continue to do so.

I started coming here for the quiz with friends on Tuesday nights about 3 weeks ago. I’m not a fan of typical pub food but we’ve eaten here for the last 2 quiz nights , to make use of 2 x £40 vouchers we had won. I’ve only had the lasagne which was ok. The salad I asked for in lieu of fries/garlic bread was delicious & included quinoa & edamame beans. The service is good, the staff are friendly & helpful but the main attraction for us is Filomena’s quiz which she does brilliantly. There’s a great atmosphere & she makes it a such a fun evening.

Great service today from Bradley and the team. The food was top notch as well. We have booked a party of 34 here for our Xmas meal so looking forward to a return visit in a couple of weeks.

Was here recently and served by Filomena, she was very helpful when I had a query regarding few things on the menu.

We often eat here with grandchildren and family as it has a casual, easy atmosphere. Only 3 stars this visit as welcome but not good, chicken pie undercooked and grey, Coffee machine broken and favourite dessert of grandkids had run out, which is poor planning on Friday evening. Still our nearest and most convenient eaterie so hope this is a one off.

Honestly there isn't enough veggie options. For mains at least. Starters are great. There's a veggie burger, Mac n cheese, veggie curry and a pie. If you're not fancying any of that then you're in a bit of a bind. We come here for the desserts at the end of the day. Great working class desserts. Sundaes and fudge cakes and cookie based things. Lovely. Service is awesome and always has been. We used to get vouchers and come here more regularly but haven't seen them in a while now.

Food was very average for the price. Can't believe I was given a child size gravy boat half full and when I asked for more had to pay £2!!!!

Lovely place to go for a reasonably priced dinner. Dog friendly too, which is a bonus. All of the staff are lovely, although a special shout out to Bradley, who is very professional and friendly. Carvery is always very pleasant with lots of choice. Could have been a bit warmer today (hence 4 stars) but I suspect that’s because we came towards the end of the time that it was being served. Many thanks to the Dragonfly!

Bradley at the bar was brilliant. Very welcoming and quick with drinks. Staff in general were great and food was amazing.

Food was cold but edible. Bradley was a breath of fresh air. Service at tills was very good and polite.

Sadly not the best carvery dinner we've ever had. Plenty of well cooked food, but everything, apart from the gravy, was cold. I couldn't really ask for it to be warmed up as that would have included all the relishes. Maybe I should have just asked for the plate to be redone and fresh relishes? The dessert was super though. Apple crumble and (warm) custard. Just the right amount of sweetness.

First time visit and we were very pleased and will return. The 3 team members that looked after us (Josh, Katie and Filomena) were very friendly, efficient and had excellent customer satisfaction qualities. Well done to them all

No table service, cold vegetables

Food was OK but had parts missing which was rectified, no one checked on how the meal was , no longer table service, very disappointed as used to be such great service, feels like an expensive spoons now, unlikely to return.

It has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and the food is really lovely, lots of choice and a good selection of drinks. The staff are cheerful and helpful. Absolutely love their apple pie and custard.

Came here for dinner on Friday night was served by vida. Service was brilliant. Mill was lovely. Will be returning.

Had a very good evening at the Dragonfly, the food was lovely and the service was even better, Vida is very helpful and friendly, she makes the dragonfly comfortable and talks to the customers as if they were friends whether it’s your first time or whether you are a local. Much better atmosphere in there! Food came out quick, all hot, all tasty. Good place to take the kids with the park and garden area. Louise was very helpful and caring with everything and Brad at the bar was brilliant with his service. Really nice place to go to!

I came into the restaurant on Sunday with no reservation as it was an impromptu decision by the family.Even though they were busy, given it was a Sunday and their carveries are popular, we were very welcomed and they managed to accommodate and find a table.Gordon, the manager was absolutely amazing and gave a lovely service to us.

Came here after a hospital appointment. Was greeted by (I assume) the manager George. A very nice young man with a friendly disposition. He sat me at my table and explained how the order process worked. At this site, you order at the bar so was served by (the VERY handsome) Josh. Very smiley and looked comfortable behind the bar. Not many people eating but a few drinkers to be kept busy with. George did a check back with me to see how my food was. The only negative about this experience was how we were sat to eat. I say we as I was a diner on my own (I sat on table 41) another couple came in and was advised to sit on 42...the table right next to mine! There were at least another tables that could have been chosen away from where I was sitting. As I said, I had just had a hospital appointment so was hoping to get some food and make a few personal phomecalls about my diagnosis but felt unable to do so as -if I could hear the neighbouring tables conversation- they can hear mine. Unfortunately for me, I will be making further trips back to Basingstoke,but the dragonfly will be my go to place whilst there. Thanks again to George and Josh, oh, and gaby who asked me to mention her. Sammy winder.

We usually go on Sunday for the carvery but decided to go on Saturday to take advantage of the sandwich deal. I had the Piri Piri chicken baguette which was very nice. Tasty chicken strips in Piri Piri sauce covered in melted cheese. It was nice and hot, served with hot crispy chips. My wife had the haloumi baguette which was also very nice. Both excellent value for just under Ten pounds each. My mother in law isn't a big eater. So she had the children's fish finger, chips and beans. The fish fingers were freshly cooked, crispy and hot. It was more than enough for her. Our server was Jess. Who was polite and attentive. Thank you to all who made our lunchtime dining experience and pleasant one.

Lots of items unavailable from the menu. The food we ordered was very nice and served quickly. Originally booked to test a carvery, have yet to try it. Advice would be to book early in the day.

Food was fresh and delicious and well priced for the portion size. Good value for money.

The service was excellent. The food was perfect. Everyone was so welcoming it was a great atmosphere. Plus Brad the barman has excellent customer service. I will certainly go again. Glad they take the Blue Light card again

Came today for a lunch with my daughter, not been there for a few years now so thought we would try it. We ordered at the bar which was great lovely lady on bar smiles and welcoming and the young man who showed us to our table. Sadly that’s where the positive review ends, the starter we ordered chicken stripsand popcorn chicken £5.99 - not worth it at all, 2 small strips and 5 popcorns in the most smallest dish. The hunters chicken had barely any bbq sauce on it, the Philly cheese steak roll came with about 10 chips. For an overall spend of £35 I was very disappointed sadly we won’t be visiting again.

We booked in for the carvery. There was a very small amount of meat left. My partner had the veggie option which was dry and tasteless. The tables were dirty, no utensils, very loud and the food was like warm and a very small portion of meat. No good value for money. Won’t be returning in the future unfortunately.

Restaurant was not too busy, service was excellent and staff very friendly. Filomena was a joy and jovial. Got a quick lesson in Itailan , there's no r in Larsana and the g is silent, it was very nice. 😁
