The food has definitely gone downhill since I last visited unfortunately. I took a friend who was visiting from the States and he had a watery cullen skink which was 50% chives. Truffle parmesan chips were just parmesan and the sticky toffee pudding was pretty unimpressive with cheap tasting ice cream. The staff are friendly as always and the atmosphere is lovely but for £80 I was pretty regretful that I’d decided to come for lunch. Would only come for a pint in the future.

Absolutely fantastic find, the food was delicious, a small but perfectly formed menu with something for everyone. Carefully curated flavours and perfectly cooked. We had the pork belly, thai mussels, sea bass and sticky toffee pudding. Couldn't fault. Lovely staff as well, great atmosphere (especially with the fire on in the winter). We'll be back!

My wife and I decided to go to The East Neuk of Fife for a change and have lunch. I read about The Dreel Tavern a couple of days ago online and I’m so glad I did ! We looked in on the off chance, what a warm, friendly welcome from Gregor. We sat by the log fire crackling away and we ordered a sharing sea food platter which was excellent. The whole menu looked fantastic. Gregor looked after us and what more can I say? An exceptional host who brought us exceptional food prepared by an exceptional chef offering exceptional value. We look forward to our next visit sooner than later. Thank you to every one at The Dreel Tavern.

My wife & I recently spent two and a half weeks traveling around Scotland. We dined at a lot of good & great restaurants during our travels, but the Dreel Tavern was our all around favorite! Food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. We had dinner inside the warm & inviting interior then took our dessert & whisky outside to enjoy the beer garden. Staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. Can't recommend the place enough. We were able to get a table early evening in the middle of the week without a reservation, but during busy times/days you'd be better off reserving a table in advance.

Can’t really complain about the food as it was very good. However, after ordering the cheese and biscuits for £13 and only receiving 3 small crackers for a large amount of cheese, I asked for extra crackers. An old worldly pup with a central stone fireplace which I’d imagine would make for a cosy retreat in winter. Lovely welcoming staff. Tasty, varied food ( great French fries) A choice of areas to sit..bar area, snug, conservatory, beer garden and also another room off the bar. We chose it because it was DOG FRIENDLY. “Fantastic Family Dining Experience at Dreel Tavern” We had a delightful family meal at Dreel Tavern whilst staying in the area, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The mackerel linguine was a standout—cooked to perfection with a rich, flavorful sauce that paired beautifully with the fresh, tender fish. The meat and cheese platters were equally impressive, offering a well-curated selection of local delicacies that were both visually appealing and delicious. What made our experience even more memorable was the cozy atmosphere. We chose to sit outside under the shelter, and despite the light Scottish drizzle, the outdoor heaters kept us warm and comfortable. There’s something uniquely charming about enjoying a great meal while listening to the soft patter of rain. If you’re visiting the area, I highly recommend stopping by Dreel Tavern for a meal. Whether you’re after a quick bite or a leisurely dinner, the combination of exceptional food, friendly service, and a charming atmosphere makes it a must-visit.

A Posers only place i would suggest ! Not one of the 7 of us felt we had received anywhere near value for money, and are amazed that the place is still trading, so be warned, if you want food , then you will be in the wrong place for that. Arrived earlier than we had booked having explored and walked for hours. Happy to just chill with a drink outside. Staff asked us if we would like to eat earlier than we booked, we were hungry so delighted to do so. The pub is a wee gem, the staff are attentive, friendly but overall professional, you watched them working as a team, kind and supportive of each other. The food then, the charcuterie was stunning and so large was boxed up for us to take home for supper. Every cheese was described, as were the meats and pickles. Win win. Then the sea trout...The king of fish in our opinion, cooked simply and the star of our meal. Advised not to order sides with this due to size of starter. I truly cannot wait to return with some other loved ones. Scottish food and hospitality at its finest.

Unfortunately the young blond lady who originally had been helpful earlier, accosted us in front of diners, asking loudly had we paid the bill, how very rude and assumed we hadn't paid which we had paid to a member of staff, and left a tip. This experience left a bitter taste after such a nice day and we got more annoyed by this poor customer service, we have traveled extensively world wide, and eaten and drunk in far better establishments, than this wee restaurant. We were looking froward to this visit as the reviews were good and the food looked very nice. I guess they had an off night. First of all we were ushered through the lovely atmospheric restaurant and given a table in a plastic windowed extension which felt like an old people’s home. The starter was very good. Cullen skink was delicious, the hummus had a bit too much lemon but a great flavour. The various breads were a bit nondescript but OK. The mains were a complete let down. The chicken supreme was pretty ordinary roast chicken. The beef ragu in pasta came in a watery flavourless tomato wish wash and the beef was tender but again lacked any distinctive taste. The server was attentive. Some Americans came in after us and were told they had 10 minutes to order! They stayed bless them, I wouldn’t have! Worse, a couple sitting next to us had their starters order so messed up that the lady ended up not having one at all! Definitely won’t be making another visit.

Very disappointing tonight. We sat down at 6.30pm and soon ordered. Starters were delayed and took around 30 mins to come. Mains were reasonably quick but desserts were a 45 min wait with no apology or warning. Food was ok but nothing spectacular and not worth £84 for two people. The sea trout was a very small portion and the crumble so dry it was like they'd forgotten to mix it with butter. The pesto coated cod was also a bit dry and overpowering with pesto. We overheard the bar man stating Fridays weren't as busy as other nights yet when commenting on the slow service received he made the excuse of it being very busy. When booking I had also requested a candle in my husband’s dessert for his birthday. They managed this for their regular Maggie who was attended to with a free drink on arrival and a candle in her dessert yet nothing for my husband. A bit inconsistent and showing favouritism towards regulars vs visitors. This was our third visit to the Dreel but unfortunately likely to be our last going on tonight's experience.

We all had different dishes and all enjoyed our for very much. The service was fine. The only downside is the prices which are a bit high. Nonetheless I'd happily come back.

Overall disappointed. Food was okay, service was slow, outdoor seating area needs work, looks sloppy. Beer was flat. Not recommended

We were so disappointed that this once fantastic ice cream shop has now changed to ‘Mr Whippy’!! No flavour selection unless you chose the tubs mentioned in the previous review. My niece chose an Oreo milkshake which was OK at best and extremely overpriced at £6! Will not be back!

TO RUN AWAY!!! terrible service. The size of the dishes is ridiculously small. It is really not cooked. Straight from the freezer or from the ready-made bag to the plate. The fish smells bad. Much too expensive for the quality offered. If you want to eat well or have a good time, go elsewhere!!! TO FLEE!!! Terrible service. The size of the dishes is ridiculously small.
