Met friends here for brunch on a cold day. Woodburner warmed us up in no time, as did the friendly welcome and atmosphere. Run by volunteers who really care about giving everyone a good time, the service was excellent and the food cooked fresh to order and piping hot. Finest local ingredients including my favourite Chinn’s sausages. Good quality bread and generous portions. This place deserves to do well, it’s very special.

The Brunch menu is excellent and served 10am to 1pm every Sunday. The home made sourdough waffles with fresh fruit, streaky bacon and maple syrup are really tasty. The pub is now being run by the local village but they have found some top cooks ! Thorverton is a good base for a country walk up to Raddon Top for a view of the Exe Valley or up to Bowley and Cadbury on the old country road track up from Chapel Cross .

Went in to cancel our table due to illness. They suggested a carry out meal since we couldn’t manage to come in. What an excellent service from a local pub. And the fish and chips were delicious 😋

Popped in for their monthly curry night and had a really good homemade beef curry with a couple of real ales. Very reasonable priced compared to other pubs, so will definitely be back for more. A really nice authentic pub with a warm atmosphere. Bar lady was very helpful and made us feel very welcome, especially as it was our first visit.

Having known this lovely pub for 24 years, it's such a joy to see the Exeter Inn flourishing under the stewardship of Rick and Matt. Always a warm, genuine welcome and ambience. All welcome, including wet and muddy people and four legged friends (including horses, but not in the bar!). The Sunday roast is delicious, huge, locally sourced produce and so reasonably priced. The mince pies and sausage rolls on the bar on Boxing day were awesome! Well worth the three mile walk from our home in a neighbouring village!

Cycling around the Exe Valley and stopped here for lunch. The best ever Nut Roast, delicious veg and wonderful friendly service. My son had roast chicken and advised it was fabulous! Added to all of this was how reasonably priced the meals were. Many thanks !

We popped in on a whim, as we were driving past the village, and were very glad to get a table as there was a celebration going on. Matt recommended the home made sausage rolls and lamb pasty. We had one of each, and they were quite simply FABULOUS! Crispy pastry on both, delicious lamb in the pasty and the sausage roll with stuffing and apple inside was just fantastic! The sausage roll alone was worth the drive from Exeter, but the friendly service, quirky styling and great local beer needs praise too! We’ll be back soon!!

Stopped in for Sunday lunch. My wife had the home made vegetarian nut roast and I had the Beef and Chicken option. Both were superb with large portions of veg and gravy. Fantastic service and a great selection of Ales (Doom is recomended). The venue itself is steeped in village history with a fine collection of memorabilia around the place. Locals were just so friendly, we ended up chatting for ages. Such a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, I wish I lived closer to it, so I could call it my local!

Thank you for the most excellent and reasonably priced buffet lunch you prepared for our group of bell ringers today. The buffet items were thoughtfully chosen, the contents very tasty (special mention for the sausage rolls!) and attractively-presented with quantity more than sufficient to satisfy the needs of bell ringers who are noted for their appreciation of good food and beer! We would have no hesitation in making a repeat visit at some time in the future should we arrange another bell ringing tour in the locality.

The most friendliest place for the best food in Crediton. Incredible food and great service - feels like a real home from home where you can properly relax. The staff are so lovely, especially the owner who goes above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. Even with kids - theres a lovely play area with lots of cute toys and books with sofas for parents to chill out and have a drink while kids play - perfect. They also do the best tumeric lattes!

If you’re seeking an exceptional dining experience, look no further than Frou Frou, where every element—from the food to the atmosphere—promises to delight. My recent visit was a journey through flavours, textures, and impeccable service that left me eager to return. I began with the Creamy Garlic Mushrooms, served alongside perfectly toasted sourdough bread. The rich, velvety sauce, infused with just the right amount of garlic, paired beautifully with the warm, crusty bread. It was a comforting yet refined start to the meal, setting high expectations for what was to come. For the main course, I chose the Creedy Carver Confit Duck Leg, served with a redcurrant and star anise jus, accompanied by dauphinoise potatoes and red cabbage. The duck was exquisitely tender, with its savory richness complemented by the subtle sweetness and aromatic warmth of the jus. The dauphinoise potatoes were indulgent, creamy, and flawlessly seasoned, while the red cabbage added a vibrant, tangy contrast that tied the dish together. Dessert was a showstopper: Raspberry Cheesecake. The balance of tart raspberries against the creamy, luscious cheesecake was a triumph. It was neither too sweet nor too heavy, leaving the perfect lingering note to end the meal. Beyond the food, the atmosphere at Frou Frou is enchanting. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with an attention to detail that creates a sense of understated elegance. The staff deserve particular praise for their friendliness and professionalism, striking a perfect balance between attentiveness and discretion. Frou Frou offers not just a meal but an experience. With its outstanding cuisine, delightful atmosphere, and exceptional service, it’s a place I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience.
