The Five Bells in Aylesbury Vale

The service was accommodating and friendly. The pub itself is well presented and clean. The food was tasty but a little restricted on vegan options, particularly with starters and desserts. The member of our party was not happy that her rib eye steak was not that cut at all either. The food was otherwise tasty, and I would go back for the vegan roast/burger; providing that was exactly what I wanted as there is little other option.

Had our works lunch yesterday, end result 14 happy work colleagues. Food portions were perfect. All food was bought out at the same time (last year one main was bought out 10 minutes after and some starters were cold) so we were all very impressed and the lady serving us was lovely and very attentive. Would definitely recommend

The atmosphere is so lovely and cozy, with great staff that are friendly and helpful, but not overbearing. The food is delicious with an excellent array of choices.

Returned again as I love this place. We were promptly greeted by newbie Emma who was spectacular. Lovely smile, warm greeting and for her first Sunday at the Five Bells, she went above and beyond. Having recently been to 2 other restaurants and ordered roast beef I discovered that they were out of Horseradish sauce. So before ordering I asked Emma if they had any. She said yes but “but of course I’ll double check” which see did very promptly. She also brought the drinks swiftly and took our order. The food was great. Service excellent and all the staff very very polite. Well done to you all. Well done EMMA

We received a very warm welcome on arrival and were served drinks quickly. Our orders were taken within ten mins of sitting down by a lovely young lady with a warm smile and helpful attitude. The food took about forty five mins to arrive which is a little longer than usual but the venue was exceptionally busy. However the food was out of this world without question the best Sunday dinner I have eaten out with no exceptions. We had the trio, the beef and the sea bass and two children’s meals and they were outstanding quality beautifully hot unreal quality and cooked to absolute perfection so the wait was more than worth it. Wouldn’t hesitate to go again as the quality of the meal was outstanding.

Are here the other week and served by the wonderful Liv. She was really attentive to all of our needs and was really lovely. Great experience, would recommend Liv highly… !

I recently visited with my mother as she is visiting and found the food to be wonderful. The wait time wasn’t too long and the service from staff was excellent. We were served by Olivia and she was very kind and made sure we had everything we needed. Would recommend to a friend.

I just had to drop a five-star review for the incredible waitress I had the other day, Liv. She was absolutely fantastic from the moment we walked in. Her friendly vibe made us feel super welcome, and she was really knowledgeable about the menu, which helped us pick out some amazing dishes. Throughout our meal, liv checked in on us at the perfect times, making sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. You could tell she genuinely cared about our experience, and her positive energy was contagious! Honestly, if you ever get her as your waitress, you're in for a treat. She made our night out so special, and I can't thank her enough. Total five stars!

Came here on a Saturday. The food was ok, the service was not great, lots of staff but little attention to our orders, such as drinks and puddings.

The fish and chips are the best and the drinks are amazing 😻

Excellent place. Food very good. We stayed overnight too and the room was so clean, comfortable and well presented. Would eat here and stay again without a doubt. Lamb for dinner was really nice. Breakfast was HUGE! With lots leftover as we couldn’t possibly finish it.

if you're looking for a cosy traditional English inn, stay here, the rooms are really cosy, great bedding, everything is clean. So comfortable. Pub is very nice, great roast and dessert, live music. Worthwhile stopping here.

Had a lovely meal back here in January. The food was excellent, enjoy a roast dinner with our family. Many thanks to Lily R who served us and the lovely staff there that day. Will be returning.

A bit average overall. Breakfast (which, weirdly, you can’t charge to your room) was cold and the avocado was a green smear on a slice of bread. Rooms ok but for a dangerous step down into the bathroom, and for windows that don’t open enough for fresh air. Overall meh

Really lovely venue with outdoor tables. Food was okay, service was great and the place was beautiful. Can't wait to come again in the winter and get cosy by the fire. Outside area could do with some attention but it was lovely in the sunny evening. Interesting and wide variety of food options. Price was good!

Went here for dinner, staying nearby camping. The pud is dog friendly which is always nice. That's about where the niceties ended. When we entered we were stood at the bar for about 10mins before someone camera over and asked if they could help us. It wasn't busy. Staff walked past us numerous times and didn't even acknowledge us or say 'be with you soon'. We got to the pub at 1920 and didn't get our mains until 2050. Pretty ridiculous wait considering it wasn't that busy. When the food arrived, the lamb was cooked well, but my aubergine gratin was very over baked and had gone pretty sweet balsamic vinegar. I had also had a voucher on the app for £10 off when spending £40, however I was told I couldn't use it as I had only got the app that day. There was nothing in the T+Cs about this. Very disappointed and bad experience. Would not recommend to anyone other than if they have all day to wait for mediocre food.

Service with a smile on a lazy Sunday afternoon. All FOH were lovely, and very helpful. Sunday roast was mediocre, could of been hotter and veg could of been prepared with some more care, but was hungry and went down. Desserts were very good, especially the banoffe choux bun.

Very slow service (probably 30 mins for drinks to arrive? And I had to chase them twice). Lots missing from the menu, gammon not available to order but still on our final bill? Pub seemed quiet for a Saturday. Prawn cocktail bland and tasteless. Ribeye steak very chewy.

Absolutely terrible. The food was uncooked but not surprising as the manager was cooking. No chef. One lad Joshua was incredible and was doing all the work whilst the young waitress ignored the customers and did no work at all. Avoid at all costs.

We visited as a group of 7 on a busy bank holiday Monday, our table was ready on arrival and drinks ordered promptly. Our waitress Lily was very attentive and excellent at explaining the menu to the older ones in our party, orders were taken in a flash and with no hassle, when the food arrived it was lovely and hot and exactly as ordered. Our whole party had a wonderful time and even though the staff were busy we were made to feel welcome and like nothing was too much trouble. We would thoroughly recommend a visit and will certainly be returning in the future.

Service was friendly, well-timed between courses, attentive, but not overbearing. We were asked about dietary requirements as soon as we ordered drinks. Food was exceptional in quality and presentation with very generous portions. Our party all ordered different meals which arrived together with nothing forgotten or cold etc. Puddings were fabulous. Perfect for the cosy surprise birthday meal I intended when booking, in beautiful relaxed surroundings. Only my second visit as I am not local. I have not been disappointed. Met with a warm welcome as if a regular. 100% recommend to anyone .

I've stayed here a few times for work and I can honestly say I love coming back here. The rooms are always clean tidy and modern. The food is always very good and the staff are super friendly and polite. Lilly and Sarah are brilliant they are very welcoming and nothing is a problem.

I didn't eat there but was disappointed to find service ended at 9.00pm on the dot. Room clean pleasant and warm. I considered the room price fair for what was available in the area. Will stay there again.

My partner have been telling me about The Five Bells and how the food and atmosphere is worth paying a visit! I've finally gotten the chance and coming all the way from NYC, I must say it was a lovely experience! We was greeted by Jodie and seated. She looked after us and explained all my food concerns and kept checking on us throughout. Food was delicious and I loved the beautiful countryside and the warmth The Five Bells gave! We loved it so much, we'll be returning the next day for there Live Music! Thanks so much Jodie and staff behind the scenes for making us feel welcome and coming all the way from America I'll make sure to visit again!

Good Sunday roast dinner service was good

This place NEVER fails to disappoint…it’s always disappointing. The staff try their best but they can only work with what they’re given to work with, which isn’t a lot. It’s such a shame: the venue itself is lovely, but the company who own the premises really, really need to pull their finger out and help it reach its full potential. Update: I ordered tomato and basil soup for my starter but was served spiced cauliflower. Couldn’t be bothered to correct the error.

We had a perfectly lovely afternoon at the five bells in Weston Turville… we especially enjoyed the banoffee choux buns! Had the perfect Sunday Roast today in The Five Bells! The pub itself is so warm and inviting, and then you meet the staff! James & Sarah were brilliant and really friendly. They helped with all the dietary requirements and although busy they had time for everyone. The kitchen itself needs more than 5 stars! They catered to our needs, the roasts were just delicious, I wish I had a photo of it but I’d eaten it all before I even thought about that & the dessert was the naughty treat we definitely needed! Thank you all so much for the perfect relaxing, well fed Sunday!! We cannot wait to book in for next time!!
