Great, tasty food, good value, excellent and friendly service from Courtney, recommended!

Not great had the pasta for main barley warm partner had steak, size of a burger and tough . Cranberry juice more like water with dash of food colouring. Money wasted realy for a supposed local evening out

When first coming in manager was rude when saying they had no tables. Did offer us a table for later so we went online and booked. When we came back the food was lovely, nice to see the salad bar back open. Only issue we had food wise was the ice-cream is from a machine which my sister couldn't eat cause she's pregnant and there was no offer of an alternative so she left it. It took ages to try and pay, we could have walked out and no one would have noticed. We ended up going to the front to pay and the manager again was rude.

Food was very good some of the furniture is in very bad shape not fit for a food establishment

We’d been out all day and needed something to eat and drink. Although it was Friday evening the Five Bells managed to squeeze us In. We were led to our table by Kacey who was very.attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The food was hot, beautifully cooked and filling. Great job!

We went on the off chance of getting a table and would just like to mention Kacey and Amy. It was extremally busy and they both went out of there way to make sure all customers were looked after. A very great service thank you girls x

Went for a birthday meal our server Hannah was friendly, polite and took our order quickly. The food was good our only gripe was the slightly overcooked chips, but the steak and chicken was cooked lovely, will return.

Booked a table but when got there it was a 2 hour wait so ended up in a beefeater who had a table free with no wait and not booked.

Our waitress was Hannah and she was fantastic everything we needed

We went to the five bells harvester in Basildon on Christmas day. The food was plentiful and lovely! But mostly the staff worked so hard on their Christmas day always smiling and making sure we had everything we needed. Well done!

Poor service. Rude staff with an attitude when mentioning we have a code to use we was just told it won’t work and then proceeded to walk off. Was sat by the kitchen where the music was loud and could hear the staff swearing, not great when with children. My son spilt a drink I asked for a cloth to clean up. I was given a cloth that’s it, no offer to help no napkins given just a look of control your child. We was give soup spoons to eat our desert with. I could go on but I just wanted to get out after hearing the staff talking about us and moaning,

We have been coming to this Harvester for many years now. Initially it was hit and miss with the food but Im pleased to say that over the past couple of years its improved and we have always been really pleased with the food and service. We regularly visit the restaurant at different times of the day and have always been happy. We are regularly been served by Kacey. She has always been really friendly and provides excellent service. She is a credit to the restaurant. Our only slight issue is that there is often very few rolls left in the salad bar (maybe its just our luck) and those that are available seem to crumble when cutting and buttering them. The Five Bells is our goto local restaurant, whether is a lunch catch up with friends or a family meal out. We would highly suggest booking as it does get busy...and a MUST if you are looking to go when the discount meal offers are on. As a side note......Our only negative (and this ISNT about the restaurant but the chain) is that we had an offer come up on our app saying we would get £5 off when we bought a £25 or over gift voucher. We purchased a £30 gift voucher, however we never got this offer. We contact their head office immediately to explain the problem. We also provided them (head office) with a screen shot of the offer and the email confirming we had bought it in the time specified and the date. They said as a gesture of goodwill they would refund us the money. This isnt really the issue, the app offer was incorrect and we was mis-sold the gift voucher.

We visited for a Christmas meal with our club the Christmas dinner was lovely with a generous portion of turkey which was really nice. Hannah our waitress was really helpful and accommodating as we all wanted separate bills, which she did with a smile, we had a very enjoyable evening.

We had a fantastic experience at Five Bells. Our waitress Hannah was so helpful, accommodating, smiley and chatty, it was so refreshing to see. The Manager was also very helpful in helping us to get our elderly disabled mum seated at the table. In addition to all this we all enjoyed our food. I am one to normally find fault with something, but I honestly can’t. Well done to all the team 👏🏻

Service is always good here I came on my birthday and was very much looking forward to chocolate fudge cake but you don’t have pouring cream so I think you could change some of your desert menu to suit everybody as not everybody likes ice cream or can cream

Stopped off here with my dog as my wife was visiting her dad I Basildon hospital. The service I got was amazing all staff were so extremely helpful, I cannot thank all of them for such an amazing visit.

I've booked my table through wocher and getting to the restaurant explained that I've already paid for the dinner which was confirmed only to finish and was told that the menu i picked from was not part of the promotion. I think that I should have been told from the front desk. It was quite humiliating arguing with bill in front of everyone. So I have to pay and forfeit my wocher coupon.

First time trying food from the harvester after being recommended by friends. I have to say the food was delicious, the staff are welcoming and helpful. Will definitely be back again!

Greeted with a warm welcome, food was great as usual, polite and helpful staff

On this occasion things were not up to usual high standards, we got seated nice and quick and our waitress was polite and friendly. What wasn't mentioned was the 40+ minutes lead in times for food orders, to be fare it took ages, we sat down at 620pm and nothing was brought out to us till 7.45pm. Unfortunately, both our burgers were tepid at best, my chicken burger was soggy and the crispy coating had gone soft and I couldn't find any cheese sauce or jalapenos as per the menu, the chips were warm and soft and heavily salted. My wife's burger was barely warm and although she asked for no sauce or salad it arrived with both. One of the other guests ordered and then 20 minutes later was informed that her choice was no longer available, I believe she ended up with 2 lots of warm chips. Bearing in mind we were there to celabrate a friend's 25th wedding anniversary it spoiled the evening, and it would have spoiled their evening for us to have complained and sent it back, we have had many a great meal at a harvester but on this occasion you guys well short. £45 for 2 burgers, 1 side and 2 small soft drinks.

Nice meal. Used to be reasonable value for money, but I guess like everything's else it's getting more expensive.

Lovely quant little place. We went for a late lunch, shown to a booth, the waitress took our order, we went for our salad, which was all freshly renewed, lots of sauce toppings to choose from, the only criticism was that the rolls were a little dry and hard, but apart from that, everything was fantastic, our meals arrived, they were plentiful, piping hot and soooo delicious, we haven’t been to a harvester, for a few years, and to be fair, we had a really great time, we will definitely, be back again. Highly recommend, give star 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Haven't been to this establishment for sometime, so the apprehension was present. Having been greeted with a welcoming smile, we, 5 + baby, were seated quickly. Our waitress for the night, was a Newby on her first day 😯, but she did a great job and couldn't fault her, so well done. New menu also, and food was great! Overall a good experience, and the tip was well deserved. We will be returning soon 🙂

The only place I’ll make the effort to write a review about. I frequent this restaurant regularly and it never disappoints. They know us by name and look after us so well! Food is always tasty and hot. It feels great to be a valued customer , thank you Five Bells!

Went for breakfast. No non-dairy milk available for our friend who has a dairy intolerance. The Granola breakfast was also unavailable. Staff were generally helpful and hard-working.

Met a friend here for lunch. Lots of seating. Friendly staff. Food was lovely

Ww decided to visit here instead of our local harvester in Grays, and we were really disappointed. We arrived for our table at 7.30 and was seated by 7.45. Table was small and the chairs were really uncomfortable and high so you couldn't cross your legs under the table if you wanted to. Server was lovely. Salad cart was pretty much empty and wasn't refilled the whole time we were there, had to ask for bowls for the oils and the bread was a little stale. The stairs and floor leading up to the salad bar and drink machine were really slippery as well. Starter was lovely breaded mushrooms but then we did have a bit of a wait for the mains. I ordered the chicken skewers and these were not pleasant. The chicken was really dry, the flatbread had an oily film over the top and when I went to eat the bread there was a 4 inch hair tucked under it. This put me right off my meal after letting the server know they removed the meal from the bill. So thought I would have a desert apple pie and custard but there was no apple pie so ended up with the treacle sponge. Overall I dont think I would come back here again and stick to my local harvester.

From the start. Parking fine. Entrance fine. The guy at the desk said we had to wait as was a bit early for our booking. Not a problem went to the bar and ordered a few drinks. There was no where to sit in the bar area as tables were full. The 1 table that was free had empty glasses left on it and drink spilled over the top and it looked a mess. So stood there at the bar instead. Went to our table. A table designed for 2 with a chair moved over for the third person in our party so a bit cramped. Food wise the salad bar was not refilled and containers were empty or low. Bread rolls were a bit dry aswell. No bowls for the oil so had to ask. Starters of breaded mushrooms was OK. Garlic bread was a pitta bread with alot of garlic butter on. Picked it up and it just dripped off. So much of it. Not really garlic bread. Mains of the dirty one burger was OK. Chicken skewers was dry. The chicken was very dry and a struggle to eat. The bread on it was again a pitta bread coated in some kind of oil. Not nice. But to top that off there was a hair under it and was only noticed when cutting into the pitta bread. Put my wife off her meal and she didn't eat anymore. We told the waitress who offered another meal but we declined. In the end the meal was taken off the bill. Desert was OK apart from they had no apple pies and the wife had to pick something else. The lemon blizzard was not in the usual glass and in a bowl instead. The atmosphere was loud. No background music playing. The floor by the salad bar felt slippy underfoot right on the stairs no ideal possible accident happening there. Arrived at 7:30pm left at 9:50pm. A long time for a meal and to be served. In the end I had to get up to find someone to get the bill. The waitress we had was fine, she was polite and helpful.

Just had a meal for 10 with my family for my husbands 70th birthday. Never have a bad meal and never have a bad experience but I must say today our waitress Hannah was exceptional. Thank you Hannah. She has a smile that never falters and gives outstanding customer service. Your head office should be proud of you. Thank you

Food was good, but the service was very slow and we were seated late. We then were being pressured by the FOH manager as he 'needed our table'. Not a comfortable customer experience.

Love Harvester 5 Bells Basildon, the food is always good value, Atmosphere always nice and the Managers and staff always welcoming, especially Barbara she is such a nice lady and a credit to you, she does a very good job of looking after everyone. .

A Harvester is not marketed as 5* . However, some simple things are to be expected. A menu that delivers what is says and clean toilets in reasonable condition. Menu - the breaded mushrooms are actually deep fried battered. The Men’s toilets are a disgrace. No toilet brush. The badly broken cubicle doors and frames are held together by odd screws and bits of 2” x 1” timber. Menu cards need amending and the Men’s toilet need a refurb.

Tom the manager and Brooke were amazing as thoroughly went through everything for my allergies, made sure every single item was looked at for me was very helpful thank you so much x

The food was really good but the service slow. Tucked around the corner and felt a little forgotten. It could have been that they were short staffed on the night, but everyone one in the section seemed to be waiting long periods of time and actively flagging someone down for attention.

It's a nice enough place and the staff are super friendly and helpful. I do wish you had the option to have a burger cooked medium rather than well done. Perhaps you can but I wasn't asked. The chips were not that great to be fair.

Love this place, always friendly and helpful staff, food is always top notch, and even if you have to wait for a table, it's worth it.

Customer service is always impeccable. So friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Very good when autistic child is ordering. Lewis went above and beyond and is a credit to Harvester with his amazing service.
