Chips were gluten free, very tasty, but the SF chicken was fabulous. Very friendly staff.

Never got to taste the food!! I called asking to place an order for collection and was told they were not taking orders over the phone at present, and I'd have to place the order when I arrived. I asked what the wait for gluten-free would be once I arrived in 25 minutes. I was told about 20-25 minutes. Despite this, I still travelled the 25 minutes to get there as I know they serve gluten-free every day. Once I got there, I walked in and decided what I wanted only to get to the till to be told they were not taking orders due to stock levels. The girl on the counter didn't even find out what I wanted to order, absolute joke! It wasn't like it was close to their closing time, they had an hour of serving time left. Ridiculous.

This place is a great place but if your a Vegetarian then don't come here they don't do nothing for Vegans otherwise great place if you start serving and making Vegetarian options would've given you a 5 star rating ⭐⭐⭐👌 Don't speak to me like this lm a paying customer yano what let's show what your chippy exactly thinks directly of vegetarians shall we...

I rang in to find out if the chips are cooked separately. The lady at the counter gave a thumbs up. Bought a large chips and curry sauce. They were striaght to the taste buds. It's a start to a new chip shop experience, where I will be buying the chips from.

Very good choice and quality. You are best to phone your order through and collect as all food is cooked to order. Bit different to other fish n chips shops as you can't choose your fish from a ready cooked batch. Good choice of kebabs burgers pies Staff are very polite efficient and courteous Highly recommend even though they aren't quick

Been using this place regularly for last 6 months Never ever failed to provide hot fresh food and the correct order, unlike another local one that constantly messed the order up Prices are on par with other high quality chippies locally

We go to this chip shop because they offer safe gluten free items on a daily basis. Very safe with a separate frier.

This was the first time ordering from the Frying Machine and we were not disappointed. Not only was this all gluten free (I'm coeliac), but it was well packaged and clearly labelled. The chips were amazing but the best thing was the curry sauce, I've never tasted any chip shop curry sauce like it really really good and gluten free! We've been looking for a gluten free chip shop for ages and to have this one that does GF every day and it being some of the best chips I've tasted in a while is a blessing...and they deliver!

I love this venue. We go there specifically for gluten and lactose free fish & chips. This includes gluten-free sauces, gluten-free fried chicken, and even gluten-free chicken kebab. They also do normal fish & chips menu for the general public, which is their main menu. The owner is lovely, he is usually there cooking a lot and the staff are great. A very chatty and friendly bunch, smiling and very helpful. We live in Birmingham, but not many gluten and lactose free, friendly options close to me. So this is our number one place for our cooked treats. It is a small shop, no seating inside but plenty of room to move around. In a lovely area which I like very much. I'm not sure about bus links as we usually drive. I like this venue. I have noticed some differences in consistency from time to time with the meals, particularly the fish. Also, the southern friend chicken is very, very, VERY salty. It happens nearly always. I'm not sure if they taste tested this menu item before selling. This issue needs to be fixed. I would suggest that if you are using a premade batter mix, please dilute it with some measured plain flour. This will reduce the salt content in each batch of chicken. But besides these niggles, we are pleased. You can even ring ahead of time and make your order for payment and collection later on your arrival.

Had Fish and Chips, scallop, and southern fried Chicken all gluten free, I was searching in the area, and this place is the only one in miles that have a gluten free menu and a pretty decent one. I found the food to be just as good as a normal batter.The food was great tasting, fresh and perfectly cooked. Customer service was great too. I have now found a chip shop I will recommend to my family and friends.

Amazing gluten free batter and loads of options for coeliacs! I had the mini fish fillet (which was pretty big for being mini!) and the battered mushrooms - delicious. So pleased we tried this place out, we will definitely be ordering from here again. Can't fault it.

Excellent food, Best Gluten Free batter I've had, Defo will become a regular. Partner had normal Kebab and Chips he was also impressed with gluten free fish though and will have that next time.

First time here on wednesday very clean and tidy place, ordered the gluten free hallumi fries and cod bites and chips for my wife which she really loved gluten free batter was superb i had kebab meat and chips which were both fantastic would highly recommend this chip shop and is now our new local chippy

The food is always nice and never had a bad meal. The only reason I have given a 4 star review is because you have changed to tinned mushy peas.

Totally impeccable quality fish and chips, Fish was absolutely cooked to perfection, the best in Walsall near quality to frasers fish and chips in Penzance, my new fish and chip shop, the staff were also great, geat prices.

Ordered 2 large fish and chips for 9pm delivery arrived on time and the fish and chips were excellent the fish was huge..I've seen smaller sharks.. excellent value ..

Avoid like toxic waste had to wait outside while a fresh large cod was cooked I felt like a Jehovah’s Witness waiting outside the door. Definitely now worth the wait got home to be greeted with a very disappointing thin piece of cod the batter was over cooked (to quote Gordon Ramsey if it’s brown it’s cooked if it’s black is F@&ked) and it was very greasy.(literally oozed out as it was cut). Save your money and go and have a proper olde fashioned fish and chips at the black country museum

amazing!! just amazing, after my son was diagnosed two years ago with celiac disease, his diet had to change and other than when we were in Cornwall fish and chips is just out the question. so then finding this place that serves gluten free full menu 6 days a week just made our day. not only was it so tasty but the staff knew everything about celiac and gluten intolerance and unlike a lot of places that offer gluten free options the is no extra price, very highly recommend

Placed an order through their website, weas easy to use, payment processed fast, had an email confirmation within seconds. Arrived at the shop and went inside, lovely and clean, was told my order was about 10 minutes away, got given a buzzer that would tell me when my order was ready to collect, went back to the car and waited for it to go off. Staff were very polite and the gluten free parts of our order were clearly labelled and wrapped very well to keep them seperate. The food was nice, and the Gluten Free variety was very good, with a good section on the menu dedicated to it.

I call in most weeks, always welcomed by friendly staff. The food is freshly cooked whilst you wait rather than cooked earlier & kept warm. Don't let the wait put you off its well worth it. Food is always first class, great value & very reasonably priced. Well worth a visit if your passing by.

1st time to this chippy, and the last. Made to wait outside while cooking for 10 minutes, we live 3 minutes drive away, the chips were Luke warm definitely not freshly cooked and the fish was the same.

Always have good food from here but their opening hours are too short for my liking. No chance of a cheeky kebab after a night out here but when you have the food served here it’s always worth it.

Shop closed recently for over 1 week. Decided to get some fish and chips. Terrible taste, must have been stale oil. That’s the worst mistake chippy can make. Customers are not stupid.

The place for gluten free!!!!! Having heard about this chippy on Facebook and their gluten free options including southern fried chicken we had to go. We were not disappointed in the slightest. All good us cooked fresh to order and worth the short wait so you know you're getting hot and fresh food. The SF chicken is the best gluten free SF we've tried ever it's like a gluten KFC. The fish and chips are tasty in a light and crispy batter just as they should be and the portion sizes are great value for money. We'll be back again soon.

Absolutely the best Fish &Chips at the Frying Machine walsall 1st time we have tried this one ,as we were visiting a relative and needed gluten free meal the fish was huge lovey and white and the batter was fabulous, myself and my brother are both Coeliacs and we throughly enjoyed our meal We will definitely be having this again when back in Walsall they also deliver

We just moved to the area and tried it out. I must say they place was exceptionally clean, I mean clean clean. Chips were fresh and tasted good. I ordered 2 large chips which was alot for 6 of us. We'll definitely return

GLUTEN FREE CHIPPY! I didn't even know this chippy had GF options until recently and wow was I impressed! The cod was one of the best I've ever had and their southern fried chicken was delicious (also GF)... Highly recommend

First trip to The Frying Machine, Walsall! I ordered and paid online. It was super easy to see what was gluten free. There is a very large gf menu to choose from. They opened at 4.30 and I requested collection for then. I sent a courtesy message on Facebook just to draw attention to the gluten free element and the time I'd requested to collect. I got a response super fast, despite not being open at the time :) My order was ready pretty much as soon as they opened the roller shutters!! Superb service. Food was well packaged, with clearly marked gluten free items! I ordered fish, I'm always super keen to test out gluten free batter at places. My all time favorite so far is at The Golden Fry, Benllech , bit far to drive though lol My fish was huge, picture doesn't do it justice at all. The batter was nice. Not too thick, not hard, not crispy either, but not soggy so very happy with it! The actual fish inside was perfect. My regular portion of chips was huge! I also ordered peas and gravy, again, really nice, clearly marked as gluten free as well. Very reasonably priced as well. No ill after effects!! Overall, very very happy and will definately be visiting again. My Gluten eating family also loved their food, they had chicken burgers, fish cakes and cod and chips and all said they enjoyed their food.

You pay a bit more here, but the fish is fried to order, its not sitting in a warming oven. Really friendly staff and you can wait in the car with a little buzzer that goes off when your food is ready. Best fish in walsall!

I do like to pop by here from time to time. Staff are always friendly. Prices are ok and the food is pretty good. Not a fan of being charged for sauce on my chips. Also you can expect a wait. Not sure why but I've yet to be in and out with ease. The gluten free menu section is a nice touch. Enjoy!

Visiting from NYC, I was amazed at the prices for the portion size they give here (can never have too many chips lol) Their menu has so many options and fish is cooked fresh while you wait. My food experience as always been good here but lately they are not open on lunchtimes. On Friday and also a Saturday. I just think this chip shop could benefit from opening on those lunches. I hear many a people say they wishes it was open,but people will go elsewhere where....

Found my new go-to spot! Fresh food on order...fish was crispy and flaky to perfection. Price was great for the portion. Also didn't know they sell halloumi bites!! Owner takes pride in every order and knows his stuff!

I use the Frying Machine most weeks and the fish and the chips are always excellent, fresh and hot and cooked perfectly. The staff too are friendly and always serve with a smile. Very recommended.

Service is top notch. (shoutout to the girls who go above and beyond to put a smile on customers faces) They have recently started selling Ben & Jerrys which is perfect for the warmer days about to come. Fish is excellent, everything is cooked fresh upon order. Very much worth the wait!!!! A very friendly atmosphere & affordable prices.
