We were so surprised when we walked into the Gate at Troway. It is like stepping back in time and so lovely! A traditional country pub that has not been turned into a Gastro pub - thank goodness. The landlord and his staff are lovely and welcoming and I would recommend giving this place a try. A bit off the beaten track but well worth a visit. As far as I know, they dont do meals.

What a dissapointment the meal was. We both had chicken breast with mushrooms and maderia sauce and vegetables. The whole meal tasted warmer up. Chicken was dry vegetables were very poor sauce tasteless at £14.95 very poor value. This is my second visit previous meal tasted warmed up too but gave them the benefit of the doubt. Staff friendly views fantastic great place for a drink but not for food. Hygiene certificate in the window is out of date shows 5 stars when in fact if you check the hygiene web site it is currently showing only 4 stars.

Visitamos la posada de la puerta por recomendación de un amigo y desde luego que no nos decepcionó. La ubicación y las vistas son preciosas, la comida increíble y a un precio muy razonable, sólo para ir y ver ustedes mismos.

We had a family Christmas meal for 10 people… fantastic food… The Venison Stew was lovely, as was the starters.. service impeccable… staff very friendly… my 7 year son, who’s particular about his sausages - ate them all… the menu has a good choice of dishes , while being different from the normal pub grub that’s around… can’t fault the food… we’ll be back…

Excellent service stoped for a late lunch lunch. I ordered the lemon and pepper half a chicken, which came with fries, corn on the cob, coleslaw and I also got some mac and cheese bites. Service was polite and fast Price was around £17 a dish. Would highly recommend to all passing by or looking for a nice pub to take the family to. Used to be a beefeater but has recently been taken over and is more up market. Really good food options.

Went for Christmas dinner Soup cold, no Brussels, no peas, presentation off food awful. Roast potatoes the size of a small marble. Got chucked off table without having fourth course, as they took too long between first and second course therefore making them late for second sitting. Avoid
