The Glass House At Wynyard Hall in Stockton-on-Tees

5 adults, 5 children plus 1 in a highchair for Sunday lunch. Almost perfect (no brownies for children's desserts). The quality of all courses was superb. Main roast dishes were ample and perfect. I had bream. Delicious. Sadly no specific GF dessert for me (could have had ice cream but was full!) Service was attentive and prompt despite the restaurant being full. Can not recommend highly enough.

Came for Sunday dinner with my partner and for the most part was great. Food was amazing cooked to perfection, compliments to the chefs. The service team was noticeably young, however all worked extremely well by the looks of it. Everyone looked busy, but all had a smile. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is the welcome. we had to wait for a lady to greet us, clearly different to usual staff as she was wearing an orange shirt different to everyone else, but wasn’t welcoming at all! She seemed in a fowl mood and not a nice welcoming. Not the best way to start off but aside from the interactions with this lady, all other staff were lovely.

Llegó para tomar café temprano por la mañana con mis más de 90 padres ( 5 / 12 / 2024 ) , hizo esperar más allá de las 11 : 00 am hora de apertura a pesar de que la señora era consciente de nuestra presencia. Pedí un poco de café y bollos y le dije que 2 de los cafés (blancos planos) llegarían más tarde ?? , después de pedir nuestros cafés como nuestro invitado había casi terminado tuve un blanco plano abofeteado en frente de mí por una rubia llamativa (señora con actitud) que abofeteó por todo el platillo , no levanté un alboroto ya que era una reunión familiar rara y así es como esta ducha se salió con la suya con un mal servicio , notó un par de señoras cercanas a nosotros que vinieron mucho después de nosotros podía, nt esperar a beber y salir de las instalaciones, realmente mala actitud del personal , y tal vez pasar por el castillo de Raby (Piercebridge) o cabaña de Alerce en Meliknthorpe para ver cómo atender a sus clientes ! !

We had to wait for the door to open although the lady working could see we were waiting with very elderly relatives, this was 5 minutes after 11 am. We had come for coffee, part of our party got their coffees and we were told we would get our flat whites in a minute, we then had to ask again the lady serving placed the coffee down on the table none to gently, spilling the coffee , we didn't say anything as we didn't want to spoil the occasion. I do think your staff could do with a few lessons in customer service. This was our first visit to The Glass house and sadly disappointed.

The restaurant was freezing cold. The plates for the main course, which was very ordinary, were cold. Not a good experience

Went for Sunday lunch in the Glasshouse ....£32.00 for 3 courses . Fish cake/mackerel starter ... roast beef /chicken main...carrot cake/chocolate delice for dessert . Starters ok ..main course underwhelming (very fatty roast beef) small chicken breast . Added cauliflower cheese (£4.50 extra). Desserts ok ...nothing special . 10% service charge . Nothing much more to add as it wasn't anything special . Gardens to walk around but obviously not at their best in late October . Rose Garden will be stunning in earlier months .

Having booked this for my birthday and then reading the latest reviews I was somewhat nervous. However, we were greeted well, served with drinks fairly swiftly and then seated. The ambience of the place is lovely. We had Sunday lunch, 2 courses £29. The mains were good, enough to fill us and veg cooked just right. The crackling on the pork wasn't crispy but that was the only detractor. The staff were polite and attentive. Perhaps there's been a recent blip and they're now back on track.

Visited with a group of friends for Sunday lunch. Service was slow. Asked for draught beer and they had run out!!!!! Food average and overpriced compared to other local places.

My friend and I visited for a late lunch after our spa day also at Wynyard. This was a birthday celebration. I had made the booking online and used the notes section to mention a food intolerance. When we arrived, they had already annotated a menu for me to state which items were suitable or how they could be adapted. I have never known such lovely attention to detail. It made my food choice so straightforward and relaxing. The service was attentive and friendly, food was served quickly and was absolutely delicious. The surroundings are beautiful. Our meal ended our day out perfectly- just a wonderful, relaxed experience. Thank you.

Been to the gardens before and ate in the cafe which was good. This time coffee in the cafe and a look around the gardens and woodland walk, before an excellent three course lunch here, which was previously a shop and plant centre.. Staff brilliant, food exquisite, beautifully prepared and presented. Exceptional value at £30 per head. Lovely surroundings.

This was our 2nd visit to the glass house being hugely impressed with the last visit in 2022. The venue was as stunning as we remembered as were the staff who were friendly and attentive, the main course was very nice but I can't get my head around the price of the desserts which were between £9-10. I had plum with granola and vanilla ice cream which consisted of 3 half plums, 1 was poached the other 2 were hard, a small amount of what was essentially breakfast cereal and a very small scoop of ice cream, how this justified a £9 price tag is beyond me and definitely took the shine of our visit.
