The Globe Inn in Christchurch

We went as a group of eight on boxing day. It was prebooked, having already chosen our meals and said a deposit. We were seated and fairly quickly got drinks. Then we waited, and waited and waited. Eventually we got our starters. The main course followed eventually again after a long wait and the means were mostly cold. Dessert was probably a longer wait. If we gad walked in iff the street the delays might have been understandable. In the circumstances though the long delays and overall lack of any quality meals was not acceptable. This is by no means a unique experience and it has to be said The Globe is rrhularly unprepared for, and seems to be unable to cope with any busy period.

Staff awful, service rubbish,atmosphere awful. Restaurant toilets disgusting. Alot of items on breakfast menu, not available. We stayed there in June this year,and it was OK then, but I'm afraid it's gone downhill since then. Shan't be staying again.

A very dissappointing lunch. Due to lack of stock very little choice . Starters we has lver pate lacking in any form of butter or greenery. mains,1 turkey lunch yorkshire pudding you could have brocken the plate with . ! lunch rumpsteak up graded to a serloin completely inedible sweet crumble not made yet had profitroles as a subsitute best part Staff excellent helpful and polite and did give me a full rebate on my disastrous meal

We have been going here for about 5 years now, The inside is nice, the staff are really nice too and the food is hot but we have had some problems recently where they don have everything because of delivery but still 4/5

The Globe was having issues with their suppliers and didn't have some foods, so choice was curtailed somewhat. The service was slow, it took 40mins for our first drink and we didn't get our food for 90mins after arrival. they came back to us several times to tell us things were now unavailable. This waiting time is unacceptable. Having said that, after I complained they did reduce our bill and the pizza and Brownie I had was quite nice. The staff were pleasant but disorganised and unprepared, for example we had advised them we were coming (group of 10) 4 days before and the table wasn't ready for us. We would not go back here after our experience last night.

We had a very enjoyable meal at The Globe yesterday. The pub was extremely busy but the service was good. We were greeted by our server and made to feel very comfortable and he was keen to ensure that everything was to our satisfaction.yes there were supply issues but we were made aware of these in advance so we’re able to adjust our orders. All the food was well presented and hot and tasty. The billionaire profiteroles were yummy. We will definitely be back again. Thank you to all the hard working staff.

Worst dining out experience I’ve had in a long time. Despite the place being quiet the service was very slow took a while to receive our drinks after asking one of the staff members if we could get our drinks. Food took nearly a hour to arrive which came out looking very very average and something I could have done better at home. Me and my friends came here expecting to have a festive Xmas dinner only to receive a list of what meals they ran out of which the menu was very poor and limited choice. The worst tasting food I’ve had in a long time. We was all very disappointed and hungry. I don’t recommend this place and won’t be returning!

I have been to this place about 5 times in total now, every time the food & service is absolutely brilliant. No matter the time of day, the staff who are working or the day of the week. My partner often comes for lunch with his boss and agrees that the food and service is amazing. Special shoutout to Harry ( i believe manager/shift runner) who has been there for all our visits. Also shoutout to Maddi and Tegan for there brilliant service.

Good honest, pub grub. It does get very busy, and the staff handle this very well. Big thanks to Maddi, who always has a big smile and gives great service and attention to detail.Thanks to James also for his warm welcome 😁

Burger was tasteless and there was about 10 chips the coleslaw was inedible and a. Strange colour it had to be the worse. Burger I have ever had

Went to Globe yesterday about 12 -14 of us.wasnt busy however whilst the staff managed best they could there had been issues re delivery ok something's not their fault . Overall food could have been hotter the salmon and turkey was nice but they only had one salmon available no condiments on table ,no water on table. 2 people had to leave couldn't get to dessets as it had taken so long to get to the main.

Despite no rice delivery to them, still had a fantastic katsu curry with chips.

Food was satisfactory. Veg wasn't cooked properly. Service was very slow, due to lack of staff but they did their best & kept on smiling.

Very enjoyable experience in this busy whitbread mid range pub. Standard pub fayre but very good consistently. We had steaks and dessert and very good value with a "black Friday offer". Steak and indeed most of the food offering is always good at Whitbread Inns. Haz a reasonable Gluten Free offering as well. This pub is tucked tight on the main road and could be missed if not looking for it. It's attached to Premier Inn, which is set back in a wooded area behind. Nice decor inside and very friendly and efficient service, shout out to Maddi to was very attentive whilst being very busy. Will definitely come again even though it's a bit of a way from home.

Delicious hot Sunday lunch here today!! Thought we’d try it out as we live near!! Was very yummy and filling!! a choice of meats turkey beef and gammon.. Veg roast too!! Festive veg Wellington is apparently lovely too!! In for Christmas!! Loads of veg, sausage on the plate too!! Good price! £11 for a roast. Drinks price good too!

Excellent pub fayre at great prices (especially with some of the offers). All four of us were impressed and left happy. Service (Maddi) was exceptional - if I were Whitbread I'd give her a serious promotion. Hard to find people these days who understand that if you look after your customers, they consume more and come back more often...well done Maddi!

Had the unlimited breakfast. Great value. Build your own breakfast by ordering how many you would like of bacon, eggs, sausages, etc. It also includes continental, tea, coffee, and fruit juice

Excellent value for money. Plenty of parking. Food was appetising and hot. Quick service. Especially liked the two meals for £11.99. An additional sweet was only £2.99 each as well. Great staff. Recommended.

Visited for breakfast with my wife and loved the fact that it wasn't a tepid, mediocre buffet affair, but a nice and hot meal, pre- ordered, as much as you like Lovely, hard working staff Will be returning Well done 👍

Arrived without booking after travelling from the north Midlands. It was 2pm Sunday, and quite busy, but they were able to fit us in. Service was initially great, drinks arrived fairly quickly, but then we waited. And waited. And waited. Absolutely no communication for almost an hour before our 3 meals arrived. 1 Sunday lunch (minus Yorkshire pudding), 1 steak dinner, 1 mixed grill. Even cooking from scratch shouldn't be an hour, and service was reducing considerably over that hour. Fortunately, the food was fairly decent, and the young lad who cashed us out was really helpful with regards 'blue light' discount. Would come again, but would advise the server's offer better communication if there are delays. Goes a long way.

Excellent value for money great service from James and Maddi. Highly recommended.

We visit at least once a year on holiday and it is always a great place to stay, with wonderful staff and food. One of us has an unusual combination of food allergies, and it is never a problem liaising with staff to find food from the menu to eat. The staff are so hardworking and helpful, on this visit we hadn't been for a long time, and yet they remembered straight away what the allergies were and helpfully liaised with the kitchen. Always a great experience.

Well all I can say this was the worst food I have ever had before. When we arrived it was meant to be a surprise for a friend, however it was definitely that . The waitress on entry was dam right cold and not welcoming at all, an answer from the lady was in a minute. I stood there for a good 10 mins before some else asked if I was OK. My reply was table for two please, of course a table was found for us .Now the food , well McDonald's is bad but this beat it hands down no question. The starter was very well done especially when calamari should be soft to the bite, but not this looked like pork scratches. However we we hungry so thought it can't get worse, it did . But more to the fact I was speechless and embarrassed . If you want lovely food, not recommended or the price.

On the morning of our stay, I arrived for breakfast unaware that it was waitress, rather than self service. I was in a real rush to get to a meeting, so I was now tight on time and the breakfast room was packed!!! I spoke to Maddi and she managed to jump in early, to take my order and get it to me in just a few minutes! She then took time to find my coat, which I accidentally left in the bar the night before! All in time for me to get to my meeting! What a superhero !!! You saved me twice… with a quick breakfast and rescuing by coat! Your kindness was such a gift from God ! It so made me smile!!

Came in on Friday Night (4th Oct) Had to ask someone to seat us wven tho the restaurant and bar were quiet. Waited so long for our drinks I collected them from the bar my self. Food was ok thought the share platter starter was a bit rubbish to be honest. Had little to no contact with the female waitress that was supposed to serve us other than to take our order. A guy from another section did the rest. No meal check , drink check or even casual conversation. Asked for the bill and ended up going to the bar to get the bill and pay. Disappointing when the pub was so quiet and plenty of staff on.

We were made to feel so welcome the food was amazing and the service was 100%, very very friendly place to eat and drink would highly recommend thank you to all that looked after us.

We had a meal yesterday. The food was good but not great but it was the wait time that spoiled it. The staff were pleasant but everything took too long and it wasn't very busy. We had to wait over 20 minutes for our drinks and were there nearly an hour before we got our food. I wouldn't recommend it if you are tight for time!

Imperative that you book, it's so good. Lovely food and plenty of it. Quick service, polite staff and great value. I had a smothered platter(excellent) and my wife had chicken katsu and rice. Both highly recommended. 👌

Enjoy our visits here on a Sunday for lunch. The roast dinners are honestly the best around here. My father is in a wheelchair and the access here is so easy as it’s all one level. A special mention for Faith Gabby James and Harry who always make a point of welcoming us so warmly, we have become regulars here now because of this excellent customer service.

The experience was kind of what you would expect from a restaurant annexed to a Premier Inn. Simple. Nothing special. But it cured my hunger.

Very standard pub food but great service from Maddi!

I'm quite disappointed, to be honest. Quite a few of our chosen meals were not available after we ordered, having the waitress return to our table a couple of times asking to change our orders. Curry with hardly any curry! No spaghetti for the children. The waitress tried her best, and we appreciated it, but we wouldn't come here again for dinner.

I’m sat here after just finishing the mix grill left feeling disappointed and robbed. 15 chips on the plate Steak tough as boots Gammon 25% fat Chicken tasted like rubber Sausages - should be described as cocktail sausages Peas no complaints the best part of the meal The size of the portion was so small I finished my plate within 5minutes. I usually struggle to finish a mixed grill. A couple of people on table ordered adult burger meals when they arrived at the table we assumed they were the kids meals This place used to be a lovely spot it has gone down hill. I can honestly say it is the worst dining experience of my life. Waiters were polite and helpful

Was not very busy when we arrived but waited ages to be served ,did not seem a lot of staff there orderd meal and a drink got meals we had gammon ,chips peas asked for vinegar and tomato sauce arrived about 10 min later still no drinks the meal was basic chips that had been cooked then warmed up peas like bullets I had to go and get drinks I had ordered they were still siting on the bar very poor quality food will not rush back.

A great location and layout with spacious beer garden. Maybe made the wrong choice on the menu but both Thai and Indian curries were insipid runny and lacking in body.Like the chips they were also fairly cold.

Family birthday party ten people large enough venue to accommodate. Good choice on the menu arrive before six pm for offers on the menu. Free parking.

Short on portion size. Sticky toffee pudding. Tasted awful not like its name sake. Served cold, told waitress exchanged for another cold portion. We spent £50 unfortunately not up to the cost.

Easy to drive past but it's worth a little stop. Large car park with beer garden tucked away at the rear. Breakfast is probably the best meal to have here. Toilets are v pleasant.

Booked table at 645 waited for our drinks for the wrong ones, it's now 8 pm still waiting for food. Ask the staff but had a cheeky comment under hand. Won't be coming back until management sort more staff shocking service. Toilets are shocking, boys there is wee all over the floor been in twice still in the same state, windows open but people smoking outside smoke coming in, shocking!!!!!!! Your meant to be saving food which isn't cheap. Everyone stay away until it improves. Table behind us just had there food and it was wrong mum not happy. We sat with crumbs on our seats.

Booked a table for.for 5 people at 1515 on Sunday , for a Sunday roast ,we arrived at 1400 ,had a couple of drinks in the garden, we went to order our roast at 1515, we were told they have run out of roast, we have been visiting the pub for 6 years regularly on a Sunday, couldn't believe it ,the man who said he was in charge said they have been busy from 1230 till 1430 ,when we arrived at 1400 I happened to say to my wife how quiet it was, if you can't rely on a Sunday dinner at your local, what can you rely on, on the plus side the young bar man jamie is a joy he's really friendly service with a smile, always happy and positive, if you want a meal there get in early, you've been warned

There was a group of us (10),the waitress took our order, she didn't write anything down and when she brought the food to the table, she delivered it to the right person. What a memory, she must have. I have trouble remembering drinks to be ordered at the bar.

Great food and great service from the polish woman. Price was great for kids meal. The garlic bread is just one slice and the 'pizza' is a mini pizza, ABIT like a microwave one. They need to give better side dish options, veg sticks, beans, peas and corn on the cob wasnt that good. I know in an ideal world kids would eat this but maybe some baby potatoes (which cost the same) might be better, rather than throwing away veg sticks every time. Trio pies were great, the mixed grill was abit small. So just be aware when ordering. Pity there was no jam Roly poly. Apart from that it was great.

Excellent waitress as she was attentive & good with our children. Food average, as nachos dry & bland with minimal cheese, no sour cream. Roast dinner nice but believe most os from the freezer. Needs a playground or softplay.

Unfortunately not our best experience this time, they were obviously very under staffed. We booked a table on the day our Aunts funeral to celebrate her, as this was her favourite place to eat whenever we visited. However, the service was not the best, long wait between ordering drinks and them arriving, appeared to only be one person on the bar trying to serve the bar and restaurant, food was good but again quite a long wait. Don’t think our waitress knew how to smile and when we asked if we could pay separately we were told no, unfortunately a couple of us saw her roll her eyes when we asked.

My main reason for five stars is no dogs inside!!! Well done The Globe We will definitely be coming to eat and enjoy ‘No Dogs! Inside

Father's Day lunch, food was great today really really good, service was swift and speedy, not rushed though. Our waiter Huw was a star, very good member of staff!!!

We had lovely Father’s Day/birthday meal. Our first visit to the Globe. Food was brilliant, and top service. The server Harry was brilliant, very nice manner, very helpful and had. Good banter with us.

The Globe is a wonderful restaurant and pub. We always enjoy both the good food and the good beer there. It’s important to make a reservation because it’s so popular that on many evenings it’s otherwise impossible to get a table. (Monday seems to be the quietest day.) We went there this week and were served by Maddi, who provided the most excellent and attentive service. They also serve a fine breakfast, handy if you’re staying at the nearby hotel.

We had a lovely breakfast two days in a row here, during our stay at the Premier Inn next door. Maddi was very attentive and brought us excellent fast service. The breakfasts were delicious and unlimited also! I would definitely reccomend.

As someone with food alegies, our server, Becks, was so very helpful and made sure to advise me. The food was so good and the Gammon steak was delicious. Only let down if there was one is that there was no desert that I could eat, so maybe they could consider a Sorbet going forward.

Have eaten here many times. Food is always excellent, service swift and friendly. Never had cause to complain.

Booked breakfast here…lots of choice but felt very rushed…poached eggs were shocking…full of water & the staff wow how unwelcoming were they…just rude & miserable..went elsewhere the next day
