Great food and service but certainly on the more expensive side paying West End prices

We always enjoy our meals at The Good Earth. We are Saracens supporters and often go to the Mill Hill Broadway restaurant post match which was the case last Saturday. We always receive a friendly and welcome. As we have eaten well at Saracens Hospitality, we tend to only have starters and quarter duck - all of which are consistently superb

Really, really poor. Having lived in North London for the past 34 years, I had always heard rave reviews about this restaurant and always wanted to try it. So during a discussion with some friends on places to eat, I suggested Good Earth and we booked it. When we arrived at the restaurant and walked in, we received a warm welcome. We were taken to our table, but there was zero atmosphere, with no background music. I looked around the ceiling and no speakers. The decor is so 80's, not by design in my opinion, but lack of investment. The food price point was high end (cica £100 a head), however the food and portions sizes not so. If I am lucky enough to still be around North London for another 34 years, it will still be too soon for me to return. Honestly, I could have eaten just as well from my local Chinese takeaway, for under £30.

It's my favourite Chinese restaurant by far. It's pricey, but you always get what you pay for. I have gone twice with the family, and we love it. The food is simply incredible. We always choose the set menu and then add some extra dishes. I recommend the sizzling dishes and the lamb. Phenomenal and definitely worth going as a special treat or to celebrate a special occasion. I guarantee you will leave with a smile on your face.

Always amazing! The food, the service and the manager is just as welcoming as his staff. We love it here, it’s our tradition to come here for special occasions because we want to enjoy and savour everything we have, including the overall experience. Thanks for always being consistent!

My favourite Chinese I’m sure there are better in town but the service, food and wine never disappoint.

Good Earth has good reputation but for rice to cost 10£ or fried (uncooked) noodles £10 is outrageous. £28 for sweet sour chicken? In the middle of mill hill? Hakkasan charges £30 for a main and is by far better. It was an ok meal but not worth the pricetag.

Food was great and good service, will definitely be returning.

Food was delicious, original and varied, portions were substantial, service was prompt and friendly. But it was VERY noisy and VERY expensive. Despite that we'd certainly go again, in fact this was our second visit.

We went to celebrate my 70th birthday . The Lemon grass chicken was hopeless. Just boiled chicken slices with some lemon grass . Although we told the waiter he took no notice. A scoop of ice cream was given with a candle on it as a birthday treat which was hopeless . We payed a big bill but would not recommend. Staff unfriendly .Was a waste of our money . Their profit was more valuable than customer service. Would not be recommending this place to anyone.

Having booked a table 3 weeks prior, we found ourselves stuck in a corner hemmed in by too many tables. The restaurant was very overcrowded and the high noise level prevented any meaningful conversation. Clearly they won't turn custom away and just shoe-horn as many people in as possible. The food was nice but the portion size small and the prices were extortionately high. This was a restaurant l had wanted to visit for many years. l shall not be returning. Overall a very disappointing evening. Parking was crazy. The carpark is very small and we had to walk 5 mins when we eventually found a spot on the high street

We were a family ( including kids)of six, and enjoyed a lovely lunch. The food was delicious but as I knew in advance it was really overpriced, probably double a normal mid priced Chinese restaurant, so as long as one knows it’s not a problem. Service was excellent and efficient.

As always, the Good Earth Delivers. The linen table cloths, the china and the attentive service, as well as getting the order right, and of course the very tasty food, makes this a special occasion. In the past, the portions were a little small but not now. The vegetarian options are also excellent. They deserve their success. It's not cheap but then special things aren't.

Muy caro, porciones muy pequeñas, se sentía totalmente estafado. Personal cerniéndose sobre ti. Nunca volverás a ir. Porción de comida principal, fideos de Singapur ni siquiera eran suficientes para los 7 años de edad. Incluso nos cobraron por la salsa de chile extra. Era una porción muy pequeña. Así que tienes que pedir de nuevo. Y tenía que pagar £ 3. 50 por 2 cucharaditas de salsa. Ridiculous.

I've been coming to this restaurant for years. The food is consistently excellent and it's no surprise to see it packed full on a weeknight. An enjoyable evening!

For the amount they charge, think the food could be better. Had to send back some food twice because really salty and just not very tasty. Some of the dishes bland. Shame as used to really like it.

As ever, the Good Earth Team delivered superb food and excellent service. Not cheap, but you pay for what you get….and what you get is IMO one of the best Chinese offerings in London.

Yesterday they outdid themselves with such amazing service and made a loved one’s birthday extra special with a surprise desert, candle and good wishes. Best Chinese, best staff. If you want the traditional old school Chinese this is the place. Supersedes China Tang at The Dorcester.

I've passed this place many times so thought I'd give it a go. It's medicore for the prices charged per dish but lovely inside with good staff.

Staff pleasant and friendly, restaurant cramped and waitresses hurriedly dashing about, clearing up before you have finished. Food good, but incredibly expensive and not worth the price to be honest.

The staff are lovely, the food is exceptional though the pricing is high. All in all fabulous!

Over priced, under portioned, bland food. Tastiest thing was plum sauce dip served with prawn crackers. Was better 5 years ago when I used it fairly regularly. Would not reccomend it

Nice enough people but felt very rushed. Spent around £180 for 4 people. A soup each and a main each + 3 cokes and a beer. Food was dire especially for the price, portions appalling. Bland and rather tasteless, had to ask for salt which is unusual for Chinese food as normally it is full of flavour. Wouldn't recommend, wouldn't return.

This local icon is always very good with superb food and great service. For the price of the dishes, they could improve the wine list somewhat, certainly adding more high end diversity but otherwise, superb.

Basically after many years of passing the Good Earth and thinking that would be a good place to eat for a special evening meal. The opportunity arose this evening. Overall I wish we had waited much longer. The food reasonably prepared. But lacked any real taste of quality, to mirror the high prices, especially for the main meals. The level of taste was not that much higher, if at all than a good Chinese take away. The tidy bill, inflated by a 13% service charge, is unfortunately the only one we will be paying for at that particular restruarant.

Food was of a good standard but it didn't reflect the price. Portions were small. Presentation not great. For the price point, there are many better Chinese restaurants locally. The service was excellent. Friendly and professional. From the outside the restaurant looks extravagant but the interior doesn't match. We've been wanting to dine here for a long time so we were a bit disappointed. We wouldn't rush back.

I found the food takeaway standards. The wine was over priced. They keep trying to remove over plates I think they wanted go home.What a let down thank you for the experience.

Since I am little girl I always dined with my Grandparents.. since then my grandfather passed away and my grandmother to fragile to travel from Cyprus.. This was 3rd time my mother and I Started our nostalgia … It still such amazing location My only criticism they do not do delivery to my home address .. I would like to thank all the staff and their attitudes .. It is still such a family friendly restaurant and delicious food

We had a lovely time. The food was great but small portion on the sweet and sour chicken costing £22.50, just crazy at least make it a descent portion. You can’t beat how tasty the food is but it’s gone too far with prices and portion sizes. Just feel they are pushing for money all the time. Asking to get you a second glass of wine the minute your glass is empty. Also the chairs are so uncomfortable,

We'd been many years ago and thought it was overpriced with small to average portion size. We thought we'd try it again to see if things had changed as it was my wife's birthday. We were warmly welcomed and the ambiance was good but the main thing, the food was overpriced, tasteless and bland. A disappointing evening. Sad to say I won't be going back or recommending it to others.

Stupendous overpricing. £40 for half a crispy duck, £25 for crispy beef. £11.80 for rice with diced standard veg. Food was average. Meat was wrapped in something soft and doughy. Average service and 13% service charge. Not 12.5% , let’s round it UP !

Top quality restaurant with plenty of available on street parking. The welcome was warm, staff friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Then there was the food. It was about as good as it gets. Portion sizes were generous and flavours exceptional. Not the cheapest restaurant by any standards, but as they say, you get what you pay for and we certainly got it. We will definitely be back.

The Good Earth always delivers good food in a buzzy atmosphere. The sweet and sour dover sole is one of my favourite dishes. Parking is a challenge and the prices are the same as a Central London restaurant.

Came to celebrate my partners birthday. From the moment we walked in we were given such a warm welcome. The food was lovely and came out quick. Throughout the meal the service from all staff was exceptional. They even arranged a small birthday celebration for my partner which I was not expecting! We left with a lovely personalised good bye from both the gentleman in suits. A lovely place with exceptional service and great food! Thank you so much Good Earth! Unfortunately, the food is grossly overpriced- our bill was £ 114 for two for one starter (the other starter never arrived), two mains, two rice, and one vegetable side-dish, a coke, a small beer, and a coffee Nothing justified that price In addition, the tables are far too close to each other.

On Tuesday, Ma Po Tofu , Aubergine in spring onion and the Crispy fried noodles with Vegetable - all very tasteless. An unfortunate meal. Contrary to a few weeks ago on a Saturday when everything was delicious. Do they have different chefs on different days??
