Breakfast is nearly always cold .bacon raw .beans are always stone cold and only a dessert spoon on plate if lucky ,egg cold toast cold and under done..have sent mine back on the last two occasions came back the same .won't be having breakfast again . would of given zero star for breakfast if could .

A warm atmosphere with good service and food

A decent pint at a decent price, but it's starting to look very old inside, broken bits of furniture and the whole place just looks very worn out.

Food good. Atmosphere was great. The reason the service was great was becuase a girl called Lily? She was beyond helpful and super polite. Will call again if the service is always this good. A credit to the company

Been barred out of the place tonight for calling the manager names, just because we banged on the tables, he was a ignorant man and sorry he was out of order, but I will never set foot in the place ever again, manager needs to get a sence of humor

Spennymoor tonight , My wife and I go to Wetherspoons in Spennymor regularly on a thursday night, but the delivered meal tonight. was too cool to be enjoyed. It's a shame because we normally don't have to complain. Let's hope it's a one-off. 🤞 I did complain to a waiter and he apologised. I couldn't ask them to reheat it because of the salad on them. I'll check as soon as it's delivered nex week 🤔

Staff friendly and knowledgeable food is good great atmosphere

Food was cold. I was looking forward to my Eggs Benedict; mentioned to staff about it but I didn't expect to have it just blasted in the microwave 😢 Very disappointed. It hasn't been the same since changes in the management staff. I visited a year ago for food and it was 10 times better than now.

Excellent place, lovely selection of drinks and decent food at very competitive prices.

Once again visited for breakfast. It’s convenient and highly competitive on price. But that’s where it stops. Unfortunately food seems to sit on the servery for what seems an age and, when it arrives, it’s not hot. In fact on almost every visit we end up sending our food back because it’s lukewarm or even cold. Rubber eggs cold beans etc. Eventually we do get an excellent meal but we shouldn’t have to keep sending the food back to get this. More attention is needed to get food out quickly once it is plated. They need to take a lesson from The Wicket Gate at Chester le Street.

All COVID rules now relaxed. Limited free parking outside, plenty free parking nearby. Typical wetherspoons for prices and food.

Only popped in for a pint but was impressed with the place very modern for a spoons, service was very slow but apart from that was very impressed will return

The meal was quite enjoyable, it was quick and inexpensive. It was satisfying and generally tasted good. The tables were a bit sticky, but that is to be expected. The atmosphere was fairly quiet and relaxing. The staff were courteous and accommodating.

Called in for breakfast on Sunday. Ordered a veggie and a traditional breakfast. There was a note on a table to say they couldn't make burgers or fried eggs due to technical issues. We got the cups for our drinks immediately after ordering but the wait for food took about 20 minutes. When it finally arrived the only item on my plate which was hot was the sausage, everything else was lukewarm. Hubby's breakfast was warmer although his beans were cold. Don't think we will be in any hurry to eat here again.

You cannot beat spoons for value for money and service. 5 star food hygiene rating so the food they serve you won't kill you. Think the NHS could learn a thing or too providing nutritious food for a little budget Hot meal and a soft drink for under nine quid served within 15 minutes in a crammed busy pub They are doing something right

Staff run ragged, breakfast is always good, done to order. Food luke warm as was the coffee today Food OK today. Nice new carpet The food can be very poor at times. You can see there is not much pride in the presentation. Some staff are run off their feet while others look to be doing nothing. Tables are no longer cleaned between customers

Food was average , not bad prices but went with friends and couldn't here yourself think for the noise.

I am a Wetherspoons girl. I'm a connoisseur. This was probably the best I've been in. The place was well laid out with plenty of room and the outside extremely inviting. The staff were friendly and gave me a discount because the app wasn't working. I always have the same meal (gammon steak with jacket potato and salad) and it arrived very quickly. Delicious. The toilets were plentiful and clean. A really lovely Wetherspoons.

Called in for drinks for a birthday celebration, ordered some pizzas 🍕 bbq chicken pizza was amazing , everything reasonably priced and service was good and friendly

Went for Brekky as another place was closed. Spoons brekkies are never the best but it was last option. We were also in here on the afternoon-evening having drinks. So we had food again was ok. I had the spicy chicken burger and portion nachos. Burger wasn't spicy. Nachos had e small cut up chilli on it. Drink prices are really good.

There needs to allow dog in and it needs to be less nosie but as its a pub and grub it good but there needs to have more pudding choices and prices on the alcohol.

Table chairs are too close to next table ,chairs.service was too slow getting food. But when we fo get food, they are friendly. Its not disabled accessibility.

Been here a couple of times, the staff are friendly ,food canny,and the staff so friendly and that what makes it!

The worst Spoons I’ve ever visited. Dirty and miserable, dust everywhere. Don’t ever expect much for Spoons but the panini I ordered had no cheese, one bit of chicken and hardly any bacon. Honestly Wetherspoons please put this pub on special measures as you’ll no doubt have a law suit for poor food hygiene before long. An utter disgrace.

Super busy for a Wed lunchtime. No dedicated parking that i could find.

Awesome venue. Great food at affordable price. Friendly staff. We'll worth a visit. Fish and chips were lovely fresh and better than chippy.

Left half pint by machine to go outside to smoke. Staff had cleared my drink upon return and staff replaced it free of charge

Another wetherspoons worth visiting

Typical spoons, clean , cheap, service is good , can get very busy, street parking nearby if needed. Breakfast is good value for money, and coffee is great.

Travelling from London to stop in spennymore, amazing ambience at the wetherspoon, looks like it's new ,but lot of sitting capacity. Brilliant.

So, you can order poached eggs on toast. If you want to have a poached egg on your breakfast, £1.20. Explain that? So breakfast with fried egg. Bacon burnt, no not crispy, burnt, beans, a teaspoon full and cold, tomatoes cold, mushroom, cold. Safe to say, will not be coming back here for breakfast. Shame on you Weatherspoons.

Met up with friends for breakfast. Very reasonably priced & nice selection of food. Staff were helpful & pleasant. Food was nice. Toilets clean. Good seating area.

We are great fans of Wetherspoons pubs. The last twice we have been in here it was absolutley disgustingly filthy. Tables were pilled high with dirty dishes, customers were having to move them to get a clear table. All the furniture in here has seen better days as has the carpet. The self serve drinks machines were a health hazard when they actually have drinks in them. We certainly, as the moment, not risk eating anything here. We certManagement need taking to task. We certainly will not be going in here until such times that it has been cleaned properly or refurbished. Recently visited a different Wetherspoons in anothr town which was spot on.

Large, plenty of tables. Tables numbered for easy ordering of food/drinks. Self service coffee machine. Quite an extensive menu. The 3 sides for £14.95 is excellent value. Drinks good price. Relaxed atmosphere, clients pleasant although some scruffy characters! Toilets upstairs, clean and tidy. Told 10min wait for good and that was accurate.

Building is not very nice, it's more like a school canteen that serves alcohol. Food is better than any other Spoons I've been in

What a place..... big ,bright and airy... Wonderful decor ,with big light fittings and multicolored light up stairs .... Staff are very friendly and welcoming... Fabulous.....

Waited 20 minutes to be served only 1 member of staff taking orders during a busy school holidays a big company and was told there's no cups for tea or coffee so got Pepsi and lemonade both of them not drunk then a further wait till we got food as again only one member of staff when the food did come gish was cold and not existent it was mainly batter I had black pudding on the all day brunch but it was rock hard think it's been there since breakfast

Staff were not helpful , carpets are scruffy looks like they haven't been hovered in days if not weeks , chairs are scruffy as F , tables weren't wiped down. Glass had lipstick marks on and they didn't care. Burger was burnt and they only replaced the burger so everything else on the plate was now cold and didn't get an apology or anything. Got to be my worst experience at spoons . Just been back to give it another go and the place is still dirty and table's not clear. I got the large fish and chips and the fish was thin and all batter , waste of money.

Been here twice now, the staff are lovely and friendly, the table service is great. Food is lovely. Yes the glasses could be cleaner and the tables cleared quicker but I don't feel like they have enough staff for such a huge pub, they are so busy. The staff do a great job for all the work they have to do.

I come here most weeks with my teenage grandchildren , 16 year old very fussy, they always seem happy to meet his fussy meals , but today was excellent, young lady taking orders and the young man delivering to the tables , thankyou, to you both

Took my son in for breakfast. Cold plate, whole breakfast was barely warm, beans and mushroom cold. Butter for toast (burnt) melted. Table not cleaned. Certainly won't be back. Compared to our usual Spoons, Houghton, Chester le street and Durham this was very poor 😞

Nice pub, big and spacious, lots of seating to choose from. Only down fall is the coffee machine is on the other side of the pub and the toilets are up 2 flys of stairs. Could do with a coffee machine downstairs

Bar staff to busy talking and having a laugh than serving people and the manageress is the most ingurant person I have ever seen .

A good modern branch of Wetherspoon with an hour's free parking just behind it. Standard pizza as per other branches.

This wetherspoons was a mess. There were numerous used tables that were never tidied or cleaned away the whole time I was there. The staff were friendly and the drinks were to spoons standard but the cleanliness was atrocious.

Canny place but too far to walk to toilet

Service was a bit slow especially on drinks. If you order on the app expect to be after everyone at the bar even if you were before them. Staff friendly though.

Great pub but wasn't allowed to sit outside with our dog! Inside I can understand but outside! Sign said assistance digs only but as it was at the entrance we assumed that was for inside.

Not customer oriented. They wouldn't allow us to sit and have a coffee on the pavemt outside with my well-behaved dog. They called the pavement their beer garden, but I wonder. All my life, it's just been the pavement. Prior to Wetherspoons taking over, it was the pavement outside the bingo hall. My question is this. Have Wetherspoons acquired the pavement or, like other smaller cafes, etc, do they just put seats out on the fly. This is a good question for the council.

A nice pub with a relaxed atmosphere, catering with a family themed environment.

Used to be regular for a coffee . Dropped in today . Where have all the chatty staff gone , Kelly always had a chat but also seemed to be on the go. Tables full of dirty plates and cups . The higher centre tables are restricting the seating for people with mobility issues. If no lower tables available. Spoons seems to have less staff or I hit a bad morning, although did not seem that busy .
