This place seems to have changed hands and sadly is much worse off for it. The prices have increased and the quality is now terrible. It's a real shame as it's on my doorstep and I usned to love this the food from here.

The chips were gritty, like they potatoes hadn't been washed properly. Inedible.

Really gone downhill; it's now cash only, portions are smaller and prices are higher. I've been coming for over a decade but it's barely worth it anymore

Dissapointing. Cheesy chips had barely any cheese and burger was quite sad too.

The quality of the chips has improved significantly compared to previous months. I ordered fish and chips, and the cooking quality was excellent.

I payed for a fish and chips and they only gave me the chips

Poor quality, small portions, expensive and long waiting times. I waited 30 minutes for a small portion of soggy chips. It wasn't enough to fill a soup bowl, (a third of what I got a month ago.) I paid £3, I guess I paid £1 per potato. Half the customers left disgruntled. One chap was waving his receipt, arguing he'd paid for a large cod. He decided he'd spent enough of his evening there and gave up. You can't keep a business going like this. The staff were new, which explains the wait and low quality; but not the price or portions. This is the only reason this is 2 and not 1 star review.

Ordered fish and chips for the family. Best fish and chips we've had in ages. Crispy batter and the chips had a little crispness too. Very happy.

Ordered 2 Haddock and Chips only to get home and find I was given Cod. Poor show. If I order one thing I don't expect a different but similar product to be substituted.

Can never go wrong ordering from this place. The portion sizes are generous and its definitely value for money. The service was swift and the staff were exceptionally friendly.

Today was the worst experience ever chips were bitter worm holes drinks out of date since Jan 2024 this year.

Unable to eat chips, they were so awful. How can you find the chips in my photo acceptable to sell, a complete waste of money. Last time we go there.

I’ll start with some context.. I’ve not loved this place. However tonight, walking home from the pub (to watch Eng v Arg) we stopped for a large chips. They were so much better than they used to be. Change of oil? Potato? Chef? I don’t know but delicious (in a sandwich, with butter, to sober up for the rugby) - thanks guys.. higher price (£4 large chips, enough for 2-3 IMHO) better product - lovely result! (Half time in the rugby so we will see). Ps it’s a chip shop, the ‘atmosphere’ question seemed a bit irrelevant.

One of the best, if not the best, fish and chips takeaway in Bristol. Chips were crispy and cooked to perfection, and the cod was no different. The chips proportion was fantastic. It's one of the best bargains. Tasted absolutely delicious, couldn't ask for anything better. Also the staff was incredible and so lovely to talk with. So kind and respectful and patient with me. I couldn't recommend this shop enough. Absolute 10/10. Would definitely go again.

The food was amazing and the portion was wonderful

…which is surprisingly rare I would say! The chips were cooked to perfection, my haddock was superb and the scampi was also really nice, again something many places get wrong. Very quick delivery too, really impressed all round!

The atmosphere was bad because of a man called Callum (Sanjay) Adams who chose to look like a tic-tac as well as screech obscenities due to autistic tendencies. He also likes peas.

Undercooked chips, only just edible. £5.50 for a chicken burger that was just two buns and a fillet. Fish was pretty fishy. I’ve also gotten a delivery from here before through deliveroo that never turned up.

Very average. Chips were undercooked and really bland. The fish was ok, quite fishy but crisp. Battered sausage was fine, crispy. Chicken burger was ok but it was £6 and it was literally two buns and a crispy fillet, no sauce or salad quite literally bun, chicken, bun. Curry sauce is ok, quite watery tasting. Luckily ubereats gave me a discount prior. Delivery though was very quick, but I guess they don’t cook their chips for long.

Friendly guys, great food and nice portion sizes. My go to after trying many others! Edit: just to add that the food is SUPERB each and every time! I've tried many others such as Bishopston, Jolly Fryer, Catch 22 etc and I have to say that these guys trump them all. Not too bad on prices either (unlike some of the above) People throw the phrase 'best fish & chips in Bristol' around quite easily, but I seriously think that applies here. Give it a try!

We’re looking for a chippy as we were in this area. Reviews on yell were good. Wanted a large-ish Order and the very nice polite man said it would all be cooked fresh in about 10 minutes. We were happy to wait. He washed his hands several times whilst preparing our order. The portions were excellent and so was our order. We would all order form here again.

It’s a great takeaway, BUT PLEASE can you stock lemon slices instead of lime! When you ask customers if they want lemon, you are giving them lime.

Used this place for the first time on Tuesday 21st December 2021 as a pre-Christmas treat Standard fish and chips were just the right size portion wise, the chips were proper chips and were great and the batter on the cod was crispy and not too much All food is prepared fresh so a little wait I knew of this place as I do a class nearby but a shame that it has taken me so long to use it - I will be back though do not know when

Nice chips, a long wait, it doesn’t take 15 minutes to deep fry a piece of overcooked cod and the fish portion was very small, plus 40p for tartare sauce, no lemon equates to a penny pinching operation

Decided on a pre weekend treat shouldn’t have bothered. Chips were hard and tasted earthy. Won’t be visiting again

Give the new owners a go. The old chippy that was here was in decline for many years. I had stopped going because it had got so bad. Thought I would give the new owners a go. Glad I did. Don’t think the chips here are nearly as good as they used to be. Quite expensive, especially for the fish. The people ho run it are not very welcoming, but as it is local to us, they still get our custom. Perhaps a smile would work wonders!

This is our local chippy. The food is ok, but not mouth watering, Pricey for fish, portions are good though. If the staff smiled, i might have been more positive!

Clearly frozen fish, and chips were greasy....Not good at all for the money you pay! Avoid at all costs

2 years ago it was great fish and chips and seemed a reasonable price but this time at 7.80 GBP per fish and 1.70GBP for a very small cup of mushy peas I felt ripped off. One of the 6 cups of Mushy peas we bought was even cold rest were ok?

We bought two chips and two mushy peas. The chips were really hard; not fully cooked and so were inedible. We had to wait for them to be (not) cooked too. Avoid!
