Delicious food with a huge variety of vegetarian options! The pub is slightly dated in comparison to newer pubs, but if you're looking for a traditional pub with great Indian food, then you've come to the right place. Great quality food with huge portions.

Had the opportunity to eat here recently and let me tell you, some of the best food I've eaten in a really long time. I had the mixed grill and everything on it packed so much flavour, their lamb curry is hands down one of the best I've ever eaten. It was so soft and the masala just had another level of flavour and was spiced perfectly.

Normally I don't want to post any negative reviews of this place. Today I got aloo tikki chat. The chana in the chat was under cooked. The cooks could have easily spotted this before serving.

We are relatives of Sahil , we really enjoyed the food and service is brilliant even it is not too expensive. Thanks to all staff members of The great western restaurant

Always busy and great at showing the football games. Best to reserve a table if your planning on coming here to watch a game. Drinks selection is great and the Indian food is good. Car parking is limited but there is local off street parking but also very limited.

First time visiting this lovely pub as I don't live in the area. The service, food and atmosphere was amazing. The lamb saag was phenomenal. Highly recommended. Will definitely be back. 😃

Portion sizes of the curries was much less than when we have picked up the order from the restaurant.

You walk to the door and smell weed. Not family friendly. Vegeterian food isn't great, the mogo chips weren't cooked and the paneer wasn't tasty at all.

Whet there Saturday to watch the football. Was a good night out there.friendly people who work there make you feel welcome

Very bad toilets. Very dirty willth flies amd fungus on walls. If they dont clean them up properly i will contact the council this is well below standard.

Asked if they would be showing Premier league game, barman said yes but put the Cricket on instead. What is happening with London boozer's... It's as if someone has pulled the chain and they all going down the poo pipe. Back to the Midlands where the Boozer's have still got life in them.

We had curry, naan and biryani for a family of 4. The taste and volume were absolutely brilliant!! The inside of the restaurant was a bit loud so we had dinner outside. I would like to recommend the people who pursue the authentic nice Indian meal.

Avoid this place at all cost. Had to wait 1.30 hours for food. Even they were busy serving the new comers but not us. Terrible experience.

Despite there being an England football match shown, the environment was calm and controlled. I was very surprised at the level of security and respect. Also despite a very busy place, the staff were quick, friendly, and happy. I will be back for sure next time I'm in the area.

Amazing mixed grill. Came here 2 Fridays in a row. Parked right outside. Security on door. Very well looked after and made my lamb chops more medium Took rest home. The container had NO grease or colouring. Very fresh and great quality food. Kebab excellent quality along with great authentic tandoori chicken. Nice smoky flavour. Will be back. Ranjit Gary)

Food quality was good but unfortunately dishes were too spicy for us (shame as it wasn’t much said in the dishes description).

Food was border line warm. A little too much tamarind in the Chicken Roll, according to my taste which made is slightly sweet. Pub is only 7 mins up the road.

Made a JustEast order. The mixed grill was good and the chilli chicken, Naan were great. The only thing I would say is that the lamb chops were super chewy and had lots of fat on them, with hardly any masala so more would be great. The chilli chips were super soggy. Everything else was good.

Hi I am leaving little far for your restaurant but I am coming to every week to take for butter chicken for my son because he love the butter chicken. I try so many restaurants take way but I don’t like it but your restaurant food r amazing. I offer to my friends they r come too your restaurant I think they r 15 people they order 11 curry’s and they said all the curry’s r different flavour they so happy.so if u can eat Indian food u can go to great western pub .

The Great Western in Hayes is under new management for over afew years now. Top 3 pubs in westlondon serving up proper punjabi food. Showing all major sporting events, good parking, family friendly atmosphere, pool table and an outdoor garden area. The pub is clean hopefully it stays that way, good starters are chicken tikka/kebabs/mix grill. The kebabs aren't the same as pow southall kebabs. I've tried the kebabs at hayes a few times something isn't the same, some thing is missing, amongst a group of us agree, it's missing something (look into it). All the other mains are excellent, garlic naans 10/10.

Authentic, flavoursome food here. Everything was cooked hot and fresh and was spiced to perfection. King mixed grill was the right size portion for 3 of us. Gobi manchurian was crispy and not drenched in sauce. Plenty of parking for a mid afternoon visit but I can imagine this place gets busy in the evenings. Good selection of beers on tap. Will be back here soon...

1st visit- Mixed grill was good. 2nd visit- lamb kebab was not great and portion size is not great compared to Birmingham. Would conclude that this place is not value for money.

I had 2 kebab rolls for a takeaway and when I got home they were not cooked properly some of the meat was raw

We had an awesome feed of beautiful authentic Indian food, the service was A+ lovely friendly and very helpful staff. Would highly recommend this pub.

Visited on a Saturday was extremely busy and had to wait for a table but that's just a sign of a popular spot to eat. Mix grill was great as were the naans and main courses. Lovely

Food was amazing and great value for money. The per head became higher because we had quite a few drinks.

When you've been to a mixed in Birmingham I'm afraid the pubs in the south east are still playing catch up. Fish pakora had no crispy light batter. Masala chips did not have the sticky masala sauce with onions, cillies and coriander etc. Chicken saag sauce was too thin. Deal makani sauce too thin. Naans were not light, thin and crispy. The best dish was lamb chops.

Nice pub didn't get to taste the food which was a shame does a lovely snake bite that's for sure.

Absolute rubbish! Food is bland and overpriced. Be careful when ordering food to takeaway - they leave half the mixed grill out. When asking for another chutney pot they reluctantly give it to you, however they shake it up before bringing it over so it looks full, when in reality the pot is mostly empty. A shame, they used to be fairly decent.

I had a fabulous experience at this place with excellent service. The only area that could be improved is the cleanliness and maintenance, which needs a bit of attention. The prices were very reasonable, and I was pleased with the portion sizes and the great taste of the food. Everything was well cooked and served quickly. Overall, I highly recommend this place, with the only suggestion being to address the cleaning and maintenance aspect.

Walked into the place people stared at me nut no one came seat me offer a menu nothing. Now I am not Punjabi and am not use to the customs so I'm sure it's was part of it. Also London bars or pubs function differently than they do in the state. A fact i had forgotten. So I found a seat and for several minutes people (staff) walked by me and never said a word. As I was about to get up and leave. One of the locals came and sat next to me and let me know the way things work. You have to go up to the bar and order that is where the menu is. The food was EXCELLENT! I'm glad I had the chance to experience it. Punjabi food here is tame compared to what I ate. I would definitely go back especially since I know how it works now.

Been here for dinner, twice in about two weeks. One of the best desi pubs to go to for Indian food, with none of the dishes subjecting you to "ring sting" the following morning. The service is quick and the staff are friendly and very accommodating.

This place has the appearance of a typical British pub but it is so much more than that. Despite having influences from a typical pub, it is unique in its own way. Large drink selection, friendly staff, incredible affordable prices. But the true highlight of the great western is the food, incredible and very authentic, on par with the curries I tried during my time in Delhi and Mumbai. Having just moved to the area, I’m so glad to find a place like this. Thank you!

Not a bad pub. We had food and drinks and it came upto about 40 quid which is decent for the amount of food we had. I would go again. Parking available at the front of the pun as well.

Sadly its not a family place as its mainly men eating and drinking, Although sometimes you'll see the odd couple and a family will visit but usually dominated by drunk men like me

Looking for a bite to eat near to our hotel...The Great Western was a 5 minute walk from our hotel. Ordered our food at the bar with a couple of drinks. Food arrived quickly- hot and tasty- plenty of chicken piece in my curry.

Great food and service. Good crowd and very welcoming. Gardens need sprucing up , but other than that, fantastic food and service. Unlike some of the others locally, this has a very good mixed family crowd with a great ambience and comfort. Overall very good in my view........

After 11pm they don’t allow for entry so they have to write on online as well that you can’t come after 11pm

Don't judge a book by its cover, the best curry I've ever had and I travelled India. Butter chicken was out of this world

Ambiance is good. Friendly environment. You can watch live sports here. Both food and drinks are available. Taste wise I can't say food is very good, but it is ok. Indian, continental, Chinese cuisine food available. I think this bar is pocket friendly as well.

First time visiting this place and enjoyed my night. Bar staff were friendly and efficient. We were a group of about 20, so had reserved some tables in advance. We had the Indian food and it was delicious! Good prices and a great night!

This was by far the best Indian food I have ever eaten and better still, it is extremely competitive. I will be recommending to everyone I can and revisiting as often as i can.
