We held my daughter’s 2nd birthday party here last week in the lion room and it was just perfect! Max and the rest of the staff were wonderful. So attentive and helpful throughout the afternoon. The food was superb and drinks delicious. We’ll most definitely be back for more parties, drinks and food. Pizzas are top notch and the pub is gorgeous !!

Celebré la fiesta de cumpleaños de mi hija en el Hare and Hounds y no podría haber sido más perfecto! El personal todo a mano (¡gritó Max! ) eran fantásticos y nos cuidaron a todos tan bien. El espacio era absolutamente precioso, y caben fácilmente 70 personas con juego suave contratado y puesto en la esquina. Las pizzas eran deliciosas y las bebidas a mano eran simplemente perfectas. Vivo en la zona y visitaré mucho más.

Food, good a lot of , young kids.

Fish and chips was delicious, nachos was a mess, blend and not worth it the money. Some of the staff members was obviously dealing with some personal issues which they bring to workplace, so unprofessional. Everything else was fine.

We attended a party in the garden over the weekend with our NCT group to celebrate the babies birthdays - the venue was perfect for it - great secret garden space available for private hire, tasty pizzas and excellent selection of local beer on tap.

I would to Thank Gazzo & all the staff at the Hare n Hounds . The food for the funeral wake was outstanding , The presentation was faultless , I cant thank you all enough for all of your effort . The private room was so welcoming & set out so nicely , It truly exceeded all my expectations . The staff were so friendly Anyone thinking of any kind of Function there ,I promise you wont be disappointed. I highly recommended it Thank you again a very happy customer

Great large burger and fries with a great Ale for lunch, good prices, lovely everything! Very friendly staff. Down the road at princess they charge extra for fries, and have small patties in their burgers (despite princess having a dedicated burger shack which used to be great?!), Hare & Hounds beat princess this spring on all accounts.

Can you teach your staff how to pull a pint of Guinness, please. Also invest in some Guinness glasses, at this price I expect a perfect drink. The new owners arrived with good intentions but appear to have lost interest in their investment.

Came in here for a pint, the place is nice and has a retro style, beer was good but the staff wasn’t nice, maybe because they were busy since there was a football game on. All in all would come back for the atmosphere and for trying the food.

I took my Mum and Sister out for lunch for Mother's Day. Great atmosphere, delicious food. Wonderful staff, and family-friendly. Michaela was our waitress and made our day. I'm coeliac and had an amazing butternut squash curry. Thank you so much for a brilliant lunch! We will be back.

We had our mother's Wake in the hall at the back.We had a buffet which was mostly home cooked food which was very tasty.You were able to play your own music.All staff were very helpful. I would recommend the Hare and Hounds as a venue.

Great time there, kids entertained with the bar football and pool table. Food was lovely, definitely going to be coming back soon.

I’ve asked them whether they broadcast Barca Napoli, they said yes and then I booked a table. I was 15 minutes late and they told me that other guys asked to broadcast another match and that’s why they can’t broadcast the one I asked. That didn’t call me to clarify whether I will be or not, they just mailed their job in. Evening is spoiled, service is terrible.

We've been to many local pubs in the area for roasts and this is most likely the best one yet! I wasn't expecting it as we usually go to the village area which feels more bouji but this was better value for money, tastier and larger portions. Veggie roast was also amazing, couldn't fault it! Proper gravy too (as a northerner, I would know!) amazing cauli cheese! Gorge wine, I rate the Malbec The dining room is beautiful, Lots of space for families, but also enough of a pub vibe to enjoy it with friends. Service was great. Fast and friendly. It feels like a hidden gem that I almost don't want people to uncover in fear of not being able to get a table! But definitely will be bringing everyone we know here for roasts and drinks.

Waited over an hour for a Sunday roast and when it arrived both mine and my sisters food was stone cold and basically a pile of mush. Looked like the food had been recycled a few times. Very nice decor but service and food zero points.

Great night in the Hare & Hounds

I rarely post a review on Google but honestly had one of the worst experiences in hospitality in London. I called twice to ensure I had a booking for a roast (which I specified), and on arrival we were just told by a very nonchalant manager to just "sit anywhere". Of course there was no table and he grunted at me when I told him we couldn't sit anywhere. He moved some people around and we were placed next to a group of 30 people including 15 children who were screaming so loudly it was deafening and the parents did nothing to calm them down. I went to buy two pints for my cousin and I and proceeded to ask about the roasts to be told after that there was no food left. I complained to the manager who was incredibly rude and we were not even offered our drinks and he just huffed at me and walked off. So disappointing especially as this is a local of mine and the pub is really beautiful. Avoid at all costs.

Great Sunday afternoon. Having tried all the local offerings, this is the best roast in the E17 area. All they need is a good cheese board and then it’s probably where I’ll be most Sundays if I’m not cooking roast at home.

So we popped in for a Sunday roast. It's a very pleasant environment and very friendly staff. No issues there. Rugby to watch and plenty for the kids to do. On seeing the menu which was pricey but not a surprise as a Sunday roast is never cheap these days especially a pub in London. But it was nudging up to £20 per person. So we expected more than we got. What we did get was very tasty but with a potato each, as in two halves, half a carrot each and parsnip each with two slices of beef and a frozen Yorkshire pudding does not make for a £19 roast! I'm only pointing out that I don't think this is value for money. We'd have been more than happy and I wouldn't be writing this review but for a few more veggies to warrant the price tag. This to me lacks long term thinking. We probably won't be back as the other pubs in the area offer better bang for you buck. Who knows maybe we're being unjust and they were running low on supplies. If you were, perhaps pass on a discount.

This pub is stunning, Took my family for a roast dinner last Sunday , the waiter that served us was incredible welcoming gave us the best suggestions , and even though the place was packed took the time to give us attention and we had good laugh what a lovely lad . And the roasts were the best we had in ages . Really improved the food. We’ll definitely be back , our new local for sure .

This pub is completely a hit or miss. Since the outdoor renovations and new menu it’s definitely improved but service can be very sloppy. Ordered a burger and the vegan tagliatelle. The tagliatelle was honestly awful and I do wonder how a chef can make such a poor Napoletana sauce- it’s the most basic skill and has me really question their kitchen standards. Pasta was so over cooked it was mushy and also cut up into loads of tiny pieces (why would you CUT tagliatelle?) My aperol was subpar - only a few ice cubes, no orange, flat Prosecco. The burger was great though! Like I said, super hit or miss so tread carefully.

A social pub that’s family friendly with a garden, fireplace, pool and quiz. Believe there was a change in management since 2023 and the service has been super friendly! Good selection of beers, plus the burgers, wings and pie were good quality. Would suggest rethinking the Caesar salad though! Needed a bit more love.

I love this pub and used to love the food too but for the last few months it has been disappointing to say the least. It’s poor quality and overpriced. I don’t mind paying a bit extra for a good burger but theirs is expensive and not great!! Please bring the old chef back!! 😃 I will continue to go there as it’s a great pub but won’t be ordering food any time soon.

Great decor, with a beautiful back room. However, by early evening, the toilets can be smelled from outside, unless it's the many dogs that the pub positively encourages. The tables are sticky. The food is actually good, but served on planchas and greese-proof paper, which is just disgusting. Do they not wash up? They certainly don't clean the tables properly.

Terrible food. So salty it tasted sickly, stay away if you have high blood pressure. Beer battered cod was very over done, fryed to death. Fish inside was like paste and triple cooked chips are actually skinny fries. I'm local and I won't be eating there ever again, nobody seemed to care and was not a pleasant anniversary dinner.

Booked room for private party three months in advance, had to constantly chase venue for information and was given very vague answers. Every time there was a new manager. Less than 24 hours before event, on going to venue was told they knew nothing about the booking other than my name but what I had been told by the manager I booked with was completely wrong. Plus the deposit I'd paid did not come off the total bill. On day of event, no one came to help, no cutlery or plates out until I went to ask fir them. No exclusive use of bar in room even though I'd paid for it. Made an important day for my daughter very stressful. Avoid if you want a smooth running event.

It’s a nice environment but the food and service weren’t so good the last couple of times I visited this pub. Before the lockdown it was much better, hopefully it will improve.

Food mediocre to inedible. Staff mixed bag from fairly friendly to Basil Fawlty without the comic charm. Don't know who gave this pub a favourable review. Made to feel as welcome as something dragged in on my shoe.

The burger is an absolute treat. If you eat burgers, try this one. Won't regret it. I've been to Ramsey Burgers too but I'd rate this burger better then that of Remsey's. It's that good.

Really disappointed with the lack of communication and professionalism from the team, at Hare and Hounds. Had my 30th birthday celebrations there. Planned it well in advance with all the details confirmed and the team on site were condescending, rude, didnt follow through with requests and when i complained to the manager i was told this would be escalated to senior management. and i still not heard back. Beautiful location and great food but would not be returning with large crowd as customer service is way off.

Was there for a private function. I found the manager or the man in charge for thr evening very rude. The staff were pleasent, but at times made it feel like you were bothering them

Nice place to hang out with friends and family. It's quite spacious and has a dog friendly environment. The food is basic, but I suppose it is just a pub, therefore no high expectations. They have two sets of guest amenities. I have not visited myself, but we were sitting quite close to one and there was no bad smell, therefore I would assume they are regularly cleaned. The decor is quite interesting. It ranges from original fit out and ceiling elements. Added church doors and Asian decorations, real tree trunks with fairy lights help to achieve the mood. I can forget the large golden lion head as a fire place. Definitely nice place to spend the afternoon.

Kid friendly (although 3 steps into the pub so you need help with a buggy). Plenty of space and laid out well. Conservatory, main bar plus a back room so it didn't feel too overcrowded even though it got quite busy. We'll definitely be going back again soon - would highly recommend.

A few real ales. Nice atmosphere. Food looked good. Good live band last Friday of each month. Other live music events during non Winter months. Well served by public transport.

Always been a bit hit and miss this place. But local pub. Last month eccellent sunday lunch and brilliant staff. Last night went to the sing along was told resturant was closed by 8 pm... Found that straight on busy saturday night. So we had to order pizzas.. Which took over a hour to come.. When i complianed after waiting a hour there were 4 of us i was meet by a very aggresive bar man. Their excuse oh we only hv one oven and we are busy. I asked why haven't we been informed and offered some kind free drinks or nibbles. He became more aggressive. He claimed he was the manager. Then I finally talked to the manger who was excellent came talked to the table and offered us drinks etc. But seriously will not be rushing back rather walk to the village or leyton high rd or clapton in future.
