The Harrow in Tandridge

It was freezing and drafty...nobody tended the fire and all tables in the room remarked it was cold, we needed scarves avd coats, Christmas menu food was good, too many sprouts - 13 on one plate ...and menu unchanged from last year.

Really lovely food and our waitress Katie was very attentive. However was quite cold in the restaurant and the chairs were uncomfortable. But other than that a really nice place to go for Christmas or Sunday roast.

Really slow service. Could wait at the bar 5-10 minutes before someone even gets behind it even in quiet hours. Food was ghastly

Caitlin and her team serviced our large group (17 adults + 11 kids!!). The food was warm, tasty and all our needs were met. Great work by the whole team!

Very nice, dog friendly pub.Friendly staff.Did not eat, but seemed fairly busy for a Tuesday lunchtime and the meals looked & smelt good.

Booked a table for Sunday. We were running late so I called to let them know. They kindly delayed our booking without any problem. When we arrived, our reserved table couldn’t be found and we were squeezed into a small spot in a corner. We ordered a starter and a bottle of red wine to share between 3 people ( baked Camembert) . Cutlery arrived for 2 people. Our main meal arrived 2 roasts and 1 fish and chips( looked lovely) it was plonked on the table along with the finished starter that wasn’t removed. No cutlery or sauces arrived so we asked the rather rude young lady who disappeared before we finished asking for sauces etc so she had to go back 3 times! By then our roasts were cold but we soldiered on ( disappointed) . Our plates were left on the table again and we had to ask to have them removed. Eventually a young man arrived to clear the table and asked if everything was ok to which I replied…..the food was cold! He was very apologetic and asked if we would like complementary coffees to show goodwill . Finally, to order a meal from a QR code with an option to leave a tip BEFORE you’ve eaten the meal is such bad practice. We paid £100 for our lunch and had a very disappointing experience 😞

A lovely time and delicious food today with my family for our Dads 88th birthday. We were able to choose and book the table, as our Dad has Dementia and likes to sit at the back of the restaurant. Natasha, our waitress, was very professional and kind

We have been here a few times a nice pub in a nice location. We decided to go tonight. The starters were cold, mains chips were cold so we sent them back. The final straw was when were ordered desert but it never came. Apparently after complaining they lost the order in the kitchen. A real shame as it spoilt the experience. Not what it used to be

We had a delicious meal here last night and our server Connair was amazing....nothing was too much trouble and he even lit the fire for us as we were cold 🌟🌟🌟

The food was lovely but we had to ask for both our main and pudding to be served as the service was so slow. Our waitress Chloe was lovely. Our request for a specific table had been noted. It's a great place but the wait for food is too long.

Excellent venue for a Saturday lunch, which evolved into an afternoon session with friends. Food was excellent & our waitress Chloe, was perfectly attentive, there when needed but not intrusive. Will definitely be back.

What a fantastic Sunday Lunch! My first Visit. The atmosphere was fantastic, all the staff were friendly and attentive. We were looked after by Natalie, she was cheerful throughout our visit and nothing was too much to ask. She gave us time when we needed it to sort out what to eat and checking everything was ok all the time. A variety of drinks to cater for all our needs. Compliments to the chef(s) the food was delicious. Thank you everyone. We will return.

A complete rip off for a pub! A Not worth it!! Last night my family and I had a meal at the Harrow. We were given two menus between eight of us and had to go and get more ourselves. Cutlery was not brought out so my son had to go and get it. The starters, extremely small portions for the money! At just under £9 for one skewer of Tandoori Chicken, which contained three smaller than an ice cube sized pieces of chicken, it was a joke. £3 per piece of chicken. There should have been at least three skewers for that amount. Devon crab cake! Again extremely small and only one for £8.50. After starters we had to wait ages for our mains, when they were brought out they had still not cleared away our plates from the starters, or refreshed our cutlery. Five of the main meals had chips with them, all portions were stone cold! We complained and they were changed. My daughter having a cheese allergy, we asked for the Aubergine Gratin as a vegan option. When it came it was covered in cheese. So after waiting ages for the mains my daughter had to wait another 10-15 mins for hers to be redone whilst we all had ours. Again we were left a long time before our plates were cleared. I ordered desert and joked with my family it would arrive at midnight. There were plenty of staff but we felt invisible at times. The service and small amount of portions at a high cost made me want to leave a one star review. I won’t be returning, better places to go for warm food and good portions at a cheaper price.

A super comfortably furnished and beautifully decorated inn in a historic building. The menu is varied but not overloaded, so everyone will find something to suit their taste. The service was attentive and super friendly. It's a shame I can't take the whole package home with me.

Mid week the Harrow had plenty of space to accommodate an impromptu family gathering. I know that at weekends it’s really advised to reserve a table. We’ve been coming to this pub pretty much all our lives, but was impressed by the upgrades and expansion. The menu was interesting and didn’t disappoint. The service from Shane was awesome. They have some great offers and discounts online so that diners of all budgets can enjoy it. Definitely putting this back on my “visits Home” itinerary.

Visited the harrow and all I can say is the service I received from Maddie and Connor behind the bar was amazing friendly and welcoming place I highly recommend

Waited 45 mins for food lamb skewer and fillet steak which arrived cold very disappointing ….complained but staff didn’t seem that bothered we where offered replacement food it didn’t come complained again was offered free pudding we said no. So they gave us the bill no discount paid £75 for meal for two that was cold ..all we got was sorry so sad as we are locals but we definitely won’t be eating here again for drinks maybe but there’s a few others pubs in warlingham to try ….

I've come all the way from bristol to visit family and friends and had a lovely roast dinner here, chloe my server was lovely and so professional, all the staff was lovely. Will come again when I'm next in town.

Shades of past and improvements too. The service is attentive if slow. There is no doubt that, at times they had to be reminded of things, not least the tap water. Mains were generally well received, although my broccoli was very crunchy (?uncooked). Not a huge fan of the veg though partner loved it. My potatoes were not as crispy as I woukd like. Desserts were generally well received though my pavlova was one heavy solid non aerated lump, very hard to eat with just a spoon It looked very pretty but delivered reasonably on flavour, but texture was far too solid. Staff pleasant, toilets well presented by a bit aromatic for me. Overall, nice building, pleasant staff mostly good. My real concern is that there are issues of a similar nature on trip advisor identified from 2012, responses from management recognising it but sadly they seem to continue.

My time at the Harrow Inn was exceptional! I had dinner there for a special occasion, the lamb (pictured) was absolutely unreal and a highlight of the evening! Cooked exactly as I had requested, with a rich gravy, and a gratin dauphinois that added a lovely creamy contrast to the dish. My pints were also poured very nicely, and the whole meal was reasonably priced. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly, with a warming decor, tying the experience together for a cosy atmosphere! As for the facilities, no complaints there; bathrooms were very clean, plenty of space in the car park, and the WiFi worked without a hitch. Overall, I will definitely be back next time that I'm in the area! And may I suggest you do the same!!

Had an excellent Sunday Lunch, went for the 'Sunday Trio': Sirloin of beef, pork belly & crackling and turkey breast & stuffing, served with ruffled garlic & herb roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, thyme-roasted carrots, glazed parsnips, broccoli and as much gravy as you like. A special thank you to our waitress Caitlin, excellent service.
