The Hawksmoor in Islington

Une très grande salle très animée (bruyante), joli décor. Table pour 2 trop petite car plusieurs plats servis en même temps : viandes, sauces, accompagnements, ... Cuisine réussie, bons produits, cuisson impeccable. Rapport qualité / prix des mets correct, vins chers. Sommelière compétente et extrêmement aimable, qui a eu la gentillesse de ne pas facturer le premier vin choisi que nous n'aimions pas du tout.

I’ve tried their steak, it was really good and the appetizers were something really nice. However, it’s very easy to miss the place, I’ve walked in front of the door three times before I actually found it 😅

Very pleasant seafood and steak experience at this branch of Hawksmoor. Both starters, a toast of dressed crab and a humble roast beetroot, were generous, tasty and well prepared. For the main show, a Dover sole wasn't the plumpest specimen but it was fresh and perfectly cooked a la Meuniere (the other option is grilled, and you can choose on or off the bone); while the 400g rib-eye was packed with flavour and once again executed with precision, exactly medium-rare as we had asked. We accompanied both mains with the tempting beef dripping chips, not recommended by the doctor but a crispy pleasure unmissable on these occasions. To conclude, we shared an intense sticky toffee pudding, featuring an impressive sponge and demonstrating once again that the kitchen here is populated by exemplary professionals. The room is elegant and spacious, art-deco style. Personnel was overall very friendly. Prices cannot be described as cheap: the above, with not a drop of alcohol and just two bottles of water came at around 180 pounds once the service charge was added. But they are certainly in line, and indeed reasonable nowadays, in Central London for this quality. Recommended if you fancy the genre.

Daniel was a lovely waiter, food fantastic. Scenery is amazing but it definitely was matched by the great experience. :)

We've been to Hawksmoor a few times, and this place is meant to be one of the 'best of the best' when it comes to steak. Sadly my steak was overcooked, I'm not one to throw things away so I ate it and while it tasted great it was short of the standards I'd expect at Hawksmoor.

Fantastic service by Asad, the meat was beautifully selected and perfectly cooked, the cocktails are fairly standards but done well, the decor is art deco and warm. A good and elegant place away from the noise of Piccadilly Circus

One of our party was underage and medically unable to consume alcohol. She specifically ordered a nonalcoholic mocktail from their menu, and was given an alcoholic version of the same cocktail. We didn’t realise it was alcoholic until she had finished her drink and ordered another, which looked and tasted drastically different. The waiter who served us did tell us that they were new, but clearly they should have had a more senior staff member supervising them. Food was very good, service (other than the new staff member) was good

This steakhouse is a must-visit for any meat lover in London! Dining alone, I was treated with the same attention and warmth as if I were part of a large group. The ambiance was upscale yet comfortable, perfect for enjoying a great steak. The quality of the meat was exceptional — my steak was cooked to perfection, juicy and packed with flavor. The staff was knowledgeable and helped recommend the best cuts and sides to pair with my meal. For a solo diner, the experience was both relaxing and satisfying, with every detail thoughtfully taken care of. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an excellent steak in London!

No tengas inclinación para volver.

Esta fue nuestra primera visita a Hawksmoor London Air Street. Nos quedamos muy impresionados con la decoración y la sensación del restaurante. Nos sentimos completamente a gusto con Assalai, que era nuestra camarera para la cena. Ella respondió cuidadosamente a nuestras preguntas y se aseguró de que teníamos todo lo necesario. Los demás funcionarios también prestaron un servicio agradable a la mesa. Los filetes estaban geniales y cocinados exactamente como pedimos. Well first time at this restauran and our 40th wedding anniversaryii. To start with two cocktails ordered were served in small glasses same as water glasses on the table. Had the chateaubriand for two was told didn't have 600 fillet but had 650 so said OK but they charged me the extra £7.50... Food was nothing special for a so called stake specialist.We had no starter and no pudding. Drinks were two bacardi and cokes and two cocktails and the bill was £224 after questioning the extras we didn't have and them revising my bill to £214. Also the noise in the restaurant is almost unbearable.. So a big thanks for an extortionate bill for an anniversary meal I'll like to forget.

The restaurant is located in a commercial and tourist area of ​​London. Excellent quality of food and attentive service. The cuts are excellent and very well prepared.

Simply outstanding- this place is very hard to beat for Sunday lunch. I would advise booking as it does get busy but worth it. I have been before but it never seems to disappoint. I ordered the roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, potatoes , vegetables and bone marrow gravy. I washed it down with a very palatable red wine . Would I would return - yes absolutely!!!

The place is nice The steak is great. Both the fillet and the rib eye steak. Perfect cook. Both Georgia and Sacha were amazing and very friendly. The receptionist was very welcoming too.

Hawksmoor has a reputation for quality, service, top end dining and the best meat and food. This visit was nothing but disappointing. We ordered two Sunday lunches (The Sharing Platter) with a Chateaubriand and Cauliflower cheese) What was good - The Meat - lovely flavour and nicely cooked. What was bad - Slow service, over an hour before getting food, well over 40 minutes before we got a drink We were also told the side was unavailable 20 minutes after ordering and then watched at least 5 potions being served. The staff looked like it was dress down day. Many with dirty shoes, random Hawaiian shirts and many wearing dirty jeans. I do not expect staff to look like this in Hawksmoor. Get a uniform, get it professional and presentable. The staff also were shouting, many of them in different languages and appearinglyu arguing and barking orders. Our waiter was barely understandable and didn't seem to care or know what he was doing Water marks on glasses and bottles.... Come on, clean them before using them. It's TOP END! Dirty and heavily used plates.... Understand things can't be new, but chipped and dirty plates being served, and visible by the waiter presenting them to us.. basics missing the mark here. Well over priced.... Full stop "All the Trimmings" this means Carrot, Roast Potato and Cabbage.... not quite what I suggest.... Stuffing was an extra £7 EACH!! Really disappointed a £150 Sunday lunch for two was like having a nice piece of meat and taking it to Toby Cavery.

Left a review meant for Langley Street on Air Street ....did not meet expectations...service good, chips good....hamburger meat good but dry...non-existent toppings....outrageous wine prices.....poor value for money..

Friday afternoons might be like this every week Food always great but a big buzz with an England win at the cricket and lots of sport to look forward to Now for the food scallops were perfect but 3 for £22 means they need to be porterhouse, rump and a ribeye all cooked perfectly with mac and cheese/ creamed spinach on the the side By the time we left it the volume was like New Years Eve. I think i could do this every Friday

Yes, very good dinner with friends on Saturday night. Varied menu at reasonable prices and excellent knowledgeable staff. The food was delicious.
