Super little place... I say little, because it feels intimate, yet it goes back for a ways, so they can seat quite a few folks... the burger and snacks menu was perfect... beer selection fantastic (I had a brewed in house one that was delish!)...though they also serve other beverages... staff was super friendly and accommodating... love the style, cleanliness, the ambience and the food... 100% win in my book. Will definitely go back with no hesitation whatsoever...

How did I miss this vibrant, warm gem in the middle of this village? Taken me a year. ... Met with friends here who had recommended it and couldn't have been more over-the-moon with finding it. Buzzing with villagers enjoying drinks, food and conviviality on a Friday evening. We booked an outside booth (with heater and under cover) for 6-8 - were given a warm welcome and were able to order drinks to table via QR code on table. Food ordered from bar - we had 2 cheese/vegan burgers with chips (succulent and delicious) - all extras on table so loads of tomato sauce :-) ; friends had veggie burger and beef burger - double thumbs up. Would advise dressing up warm for the outside seating and using the heater as an extra but after a couple of drinks... we were warmed from inside out. Hosts readily available to answer questions. All very laid back and relaxed and we would definitely go back (lots)_. They also have a variety of events going on - see website. Just what any village needs.... well done Hop Tub - 10/10.

Great burger and chips. Superb Silly Mo Cider. Service with a smile and great attitude. The best music selection playing. Not one duff song. Brilliant atmosphere. Feels like I am in a great Surfing Beach Bar or a Top European Snowboarding Resort. Yet here I am in stuffy old Hurstpierpoint. Was I dreaming? I will have to go back regularly and check. Next time with company to share the dream.

We called in at the Hop Tub tonight for a drink and some food. We hadn’t booked and were lucky to get a table in the all covered outside area. Super warm in there with heated lamps. We were served by Ed who kindly let me try two wines so I could choose. My husband had a pint I’d Tom’s in house brewed beer, which he said was delicious. We ordered two cheeseburgers and sides of skin on fries and coleslaw. Again all very good indeed. We’ve heard the Sunday lunch is great here and that’s what we’ll be returning soon for.

Excellent beers brewed on the premises at very competitive prices, plus many other local offerings, together with a good wine selection. A warm welcome from the enthusiastic staff and a buzzing atmosphere on busy weekend nights. Add in the freshly cooked street food, plus Sunday roasts, and altogether you have an awesome new addition to Hurst High St.

Over recent years, I've noticed a whole slew of trendy bars/micropubs cropping up all over the country. Some are really good, but most are a triumph of style over substance. The Hop Tub is a welcome exception. It has an extensive selection of beers, ciders, wines etc on offer and a great ambience. The place hasn't been open long and the owners have done a brilliant job of creating a bar with different elements. Front of house, there's a traditional bar area and adjacent to that there's a brewery!!! Yes, although there is no public access currently, this bar has its own, on-site brewery and I'm wondering if it's in future plans to offer brewing courses. Passing through the front bar, you enter an area that has the feeling of a beach bar, where the decor is imaginative, without being gimmicky. That's quite an achievement given that it's situated in an inland, Sussex village. Beyond the 'beach' bar, is a garden area and adjacent to that is a function room. Whilst we were there, there was a kids' birthday party going on, which highlighted the main difference between the Hop Tub and most similar establishments, in that during the daytime it's very family orientated. Throughout the whole place, there is much reclaimed/recycled hardwood in evidence, which was particularly appealing to me as I'm currently restoring/repurposing a derelict agricultural smallholding. It gave me quite a few ideas, but I forgot to ask if they had any leftovers lol. We had to nip off about 5pm to do some shopping etc, but decided to return in the evening and have something to eat there, as we were staying just down the road. The 'feel' was significantly different to what we'd found earlier in the day, with an atmosphere conducive to both a drink with friends or even a romantic dinner à deux. The menu, was well thought-out and our food was cooked to perfection. I really enjoyed my Banana Blossom Fries! Cost is a major consideration for most people and we found the price of around £40.00 for food and drinks for two people, very reasonable for the area. A special mention must be given to the staff, who were excellent, without exception. All in all, we had a great time at the Hop Tub and look forward to returning, next time we are in the area. Congratulations on providing what in my opinion, is a perfect combination of a family pub and a more exclusive, contemporary adults' bar. See you soon

This is not your average cafe- both food and services have standard. We went there both for breakfast & lunch upon friends' recommendation. Then we discovered it does bistro during weekends evenings which we went on a Friday night. We were very impressed: it is very obvious the chef has a passion for food and understand the ingredients and has technical ability. The plates of food were expertly presented. The manager is Matt who does everything efficiently and politely, a good communicator. A lovely experience overall.

Yet another delicious meal - we were excited to see Indian spices on the pheasant and it was executed beautifully. Delicate but perfectly balanced. One of our favourite tasting menus here so far. One thing that really stood out on this visit (we haven't been for quite a few months) was the service. It was impeccable! It elevated our normal lovely meal to an outstanding evening, big thanks to Pluto - you made our evening perfect. Your passion and professionalism shone through. We look forward to returning again soon.
