Stopped off for coffee which was delicious may I add! We ended up staying for lunch I had a tuna sandwich and my partner had loaded fries. Shout out to maisey & jess for fab service

Served by mazie, very accommodating and friendly, really helped those who struggled with vision. Couldn’t ask for better customer service.

Come here every Christmas time when we visit, the staff are always friendly and here to help. Big shout out to Rhianna and Shannon for looking after us. The food was on point as usual. Great selection of beers, always worth a visit.

We are thankful for this as good service is hard to find and there lovely manner made our meal much more pleasant. as soon as i stepped foot in this establishment i felt as i was in a wonderland. the great atmosphere and wonderful service truly made my day, i keep coming back and never fails to put a smile on my face. the workers Shannon and Lia were honestly out of this world with the service they provided. would highly recommend this place to go with family and friends. Also the pool table is sublime, great fun with friends. the food was scintillating, just full of flavour and made with care. Awesome roast dinners and fab service. Outdoor space in the summer is epic with sports on the giant screen.

Went when it was quiet to play golf,darts and pool.A place for the younger generation or families.

Food was edible. Service was sub par. No sense check, no follow ups, felt a bit forgotten by the three staff standing behind the bar chatting all afternoon

Best burger I’ve had in such a long time, burger juice and full of flavour, the chips fluffy and Chucky, halloumi fries were to die for. Great price for the food. Staff really friendly and I will be coming back for seconds.

House cola was flat and tasted like 'rola cola' however the atmosphere was really nice the toilets were really Clean and laid out presentation wise really nice. The outdoor seating was plentiful with really nice children's play area that was safe might have been nice if the entrance to the side of outdoor seating that had the kids play area had a gate to secure this area as the little ones could easily run off the site quickly (as it was close to the entrance) but had lovely soft ground around the play area and it was well kept and clean. Staff were attentive on site warm and friendly. Would try their food next time as it looked very nice and presented well, judging other customers food as it came out.

Rihanna (?) was really great in her attitude, service and smiles. It makes such a difference. The presentation and quality food has decreased a little in the last year, as if the love and attention into the cooking and delivery lacks, but considering it's a buffet there's only so much you can do

Disgusting place . Where kitchen staff are allowed to vape while preparing Sunday carvery. Yhe management are aware of this but just turn a blind eye

What a disgusting place . We went in for Sunday carvery and spotted the cook vaping in the with clouds of vape . We spoke to the manager who said it's the 2nd complaint about this in 10 mins and would tell kitchen staff not to vape in view of customers. But seemed OK to ket them carry on. He was clueless. We have reported this to health and safety . I will never return to thus place again

Visited today for a carvery lunch..the carvery looked well presented at the counter but once on the plate it was a different matter. The server gave a good portion of meat and a very large amount of soggy stuffing. The roast potatoes were really soggy and tasted of fat, the vegetables… carrots and parsnips were undercooked..Gravy like dishwater.. unfortunately it was inedible.. wouldn’t recommend!

A large pub with lots of outdoor seating and kids play area. Inside is curiously zoned. Welcomes well behaved dogs and owners but children are allowed to roam freely in and out of pub. Had Cajun chicken with non alcoholic drink. Plenty of room left on plate to spread its wings and chips clumped together for safety.

The worst carvery we have ever had. The majority of it was luke warm except the roast potatoes! The turkey looked very undercooked and had a large rind of fat! The gravy was like dishwater! We did complain to the manager who did a refund. That night my husband had a very bad stomach (he ate more that me as I had paid!) My stomach was also not good. We feel it needs to really step up their hygiene control and make sure the food is hot!

Fabulous food!! Great service and they are very attentive. We ordered through the app every time we visited and within minutes are drinks were at our table. The food was fast , beautifully cooked and well presented. The waitresses were very quick and efficient in cleaning down tables and ensuring the restaurant was kept clean at all times. We also visited the street golf which was reasonably priced and kept to a clean standard.

Very disappointed after such a great meal and service in April. Arrived today to celebrate a birthday. Group of 9 people. All want to eat, drink and celebrate. Parked in private parking spaces labelled Hyde Dendy. Advised the barman where we had parked. Bluntly told we couldn't park there incase somebody wanted the space. Only 2 customers in whole building, plus a table of staff. Quiet Monday night. Out of season. £250- £300 lost as we all walked out.

Only 2 slices of meat on the carvery plate and veg was abit disappointing

22nd September 2024 Possibly the worst roast dinner I have ever ate the fact that it cost £13.50 per person Meat very tough, roast potatoes hard, Yorkshire pudding soft and flat, vegetables watery and to add it was very cold even the gravy Will never go back

Probably the best overall pub/restaurant in Paignton. Tye beer is great, and they have items on tap you don't often get elsewhere. The food is pub grub, but pub grub is done very well and is definitely well above average, and the staff are brilliant.

Fantastic Sunday Lunch, nothing was too much bother. All the staff were friendly and helpful. You can also take dogs in here. Prices are very reasonable considering the proximity to the seafront...its across the road. Would definitely eat here again 😋

Me and my family had some food and drinks, and the quality was good. You make your order at the bar, and a waiter will bring your order to the table. The only bad part is they could do with more bar staff. Because when I made my order there was only one bar maid, and about five people waiting to be served.

I've only been here for carvery but the food is good and it's very family friendly

Came in for a late lunch and we chose the All day breakfast. Freshly cooked. Two good quality rashers of bacon, two mushrooms, baked beans, two sausages, three hash browns, a tomato, fried egg and some crispy chips. One of the best cooked breakfasts I've had.

Not a welcoming place at all, unless you like being stared at like you've murdered someone's cat... I suggest going next door instead

We had 2 visits here on a recent stay, the first we stopped in for a drink. We ordered on the app and the drinks took 20min to arrive and were warm when they did so we left quickly afterwards. It wasnt what I would call busy, there was very little people sittting inside and only 40% of tables were taken outside. We returned the following night for our sons birthday sitting inside this time. I chose to order drinks at the bar this time which is fairly small considering the size of the premises. There only seemed to be 1 person serving drinks whilst another took food orders, when there was a queue for drinks a manager appeared served 2 girls then disappeared again even though there was still a queue. We ordered food through the app again and was surprised when our starters came out with our mains. We were told that "people often have their starter with their main" which does happen but we had ordered soup. The waitress said she would take the mains back to the kitchen but "couldn't guarantee the quality of the food" as it would be under a heat lamp. When the mains did return they obviously weren't great. Everything looks nice and new but it dosnt feel all that clean with most surfaces feeling sticky and the toilets were grim and had no hand soap. There seems to be lots of young staff in there but I question if they have any customer service training and there seems a lack of visible management. I saw the same manager ferrying bottles of wine in an Lidl basket to the bar which looked like he had just been there to buy the stuff. The place looks nice but big isn't always better.

Gracie or grace was amazing was only cleaning up and I asked her a few questions , so knowledgeable and such a lovely girl in my eyes employee of the month !!!! Such a lovely girl if you ask for service of Grace you will get it . And the bar lady that made me a purple rain she was lovely too..

Went for a middle of the street 3 stars as didn’t get a chance to play games and give a full and proper review. Went downstairs to an empty games area, asked to play darts but was told all the darts were broken so not possible. Went to pool table, no one there but a trail of £1 coins on the side…waited for 5mins to see if anyone was playing…after that went to the bar again and asked, they said someone was playing but they’ve popped out for a bit! We went and got a drink, in the 15-20mins we were there we didn’t see anyone come back to the pool table (despite the trail of £1 coins still being there). Didn’t seem overly fair as we would’ve got 2-3 games in during that time.

when we arrived we were greeted and welcomed to a table and had our order taken by the rudest young man ever. he told us to hurry up because he "doesn't have all day waiting for pensioners to glue their bones back together" I asked the young gentleman his name to report him to a manager. callum was his name. once we had placed our order he came out with our food, slammed it on the table with no knife and fork to eat it with. I had to ask another waiter for some tableware which she apologised and handed us. I thought that was just a one of but when it came to taking our dishes away the young boy came to collect our dishes only to ask, "haven't you two wrinkle faces turned into ghosts yet?" I exclaimed excuse" me!"he walked off. The only positive event was the food. The fish and chips in which I ate were above average for the area. It couldn't get any worse yet it did, when it came to paying for the meal, the boy made a cheeky remark about us paying in shillings or in sheep. Me and my husband ignored it, knowing the younger generation are just looking for a reaction. paid for the meal and left. we will NOT be returning!!!!

Wow! The food is incredible! I had the quack quack burger: a smash burger with hoisin duck on top and what a combo it proved to be! The chips are proper authentic pub style; crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside! My kids had a burger and a pizza; the pizza was a great size and soooo much cheese. Would definitely recommend!

1st visit today, treated myself to a ice cold san Miguel £5.60 which i thought was ok for sea front dinning in a prime location with a super atmosphere I’ll be back this Tuesday coming with the wife & kids, we will give u a Whirl Cheers

Food was amazing. Our group had the chicken burger, katsu chips, lasagna & garlic bread, all delicious, all good portions. Lovely. Unfortunately, we had to wait 50mins for our food 😬 Drinks came out in 10mins, which was fine, but ended up having to ask a waitress for an update on our food after 40mins. Decided not to stay for dessert for this reason. Also thought the music was very loud both inside & out.

Great food. Was staying in the area for 4 nights. 2 of these nights I chose to eat here. On both occasions the experience was the same. Great staff, friendly atmosphere and decent food. First meal was Chicken New Yorker which was excellent. Very tasty and a large portion size. Second meal was Fish and Chips. Lovely large peice of cod cooked in Devon Beer Batter. Staff were attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend. Order from table via website is a huge plus. This meant we could order at our own pace and leave the staff to do what they clearly do best.. keep this place running smoothly. Bar and outside very well presented. Clean and despite both times being very busy, tables were efficiently emptied. Outside this is even more important due to seagulls swooping the moment guests leave. Highly recommend.

Popped in for a drink in the beer garden in the sunshine and i would certainly go back. We just had a drink but the food that was coming out looked lovely. There was netting over the outside to stop the seagulls which is great. Our children are teenagers but there is an onsite playarea which looked good. You can also order via QR Code.

Terrible, Dont waste your money, 2 stars is generous and only due to the two good points I mention below. Ok so good points first. Staff are friendly and kids play area is great. Bad points. It seems the entire restaurant is ran in the most corner cutting and money saving way possible. This is reflected most in the food. Drinks We ordered 2 kids fruit shoot style drinks and 2 cokes, neither of which was a known brand. The coke was okay but like the tesco or aldi own brand, not quite spot on. Food (worst bit) We ordered 1 pizza between my wife and kids (they were already quite full from ice cream earlier) and I ordered a southern fried chicken burger. The pizza was the same experience as the drinks. It just tasted like an approximation of the real thing. Just left you with a frown. The chicken burger was dreadful, if I was not starving I would've sent it back. The alleged southern fried exterior was nothing of the sort. Its was more like a badly battered piece of cod with absolutely NO southern fried taste. And even stranger this "batter" was one thin single layer, like some chicken had been put in a plastic bag and melted over it. The coleslaw was really nice but in a TINY plastic container (literally a tablespoon if that) and tasted a lot like tesco or coop finest. And the chips were perfect. In retrospec, i can't believe I did not send it back but it took nearly 25 ish minutes to get here and I was starving and did not want to wait another 25 mins for something else. No follow up fro waitress on hiw the food was. Last point that was really stupid. We were sat out the front as far away from the bar indoors as possible. Our food arrived with no cutlery and when i asked for some I was told (politely) to go back inside and get some from the bar. Ridiculous seeing as they will go inside to get you sauce. The prices they charge put them in the leagues of chain restaurants that get it right and do it well. And this place fails badly. Terrible experience.

The waitress passed my 14 yr old daughter a pizza on a tray come fresh out of the oven and burnt her fingers! lasagne was a bowl of mince and cheese not much pasta in sight. Chilli was served with pilau rice, should come with white rice. Overly disappointed!

Have used it for many years but never again after the experience I’ve just had in there with my family. If you don’t like it then I would suggest you find alternative employment as the pub trade is clearly not for you. My two children wanted to play pool so paid the £5 deposit which was fine got to the table and started to play pool only to find one of the tips on one of the cues was missing. Was then told by the arrogant staff that I broke the cue and would not get my money back. Have been coming to this place for years but will never come back ever again. Disgusting people and I just wonder how many people they are ripping off with this scam

Been here in previous years and food is always bang on, the chicken starter with bbq sauce is my favourite and lovely atmosphere would 100% recommend and they have live music m, karaoke ect

I had lunch, and it was a decent tuna sandwich. A good size with salad, crisps and fries. The only downer was the cheap cola they have on tap. It tastes like cheap coke from Lidl.

We were able to reserve a table same day. Having previously visited we knew what to expect from the menu - all of the party 4 adults 2 children opted for a carvery. The server generously gave our children an extra Yorkshire as they didn’t particularly have lots of meat. There is a choice of two meats from the selection. Very tasty carvery! Desert saw various puddings at the table sundaes, cookie dough pie, churros all enjoyed. They also serve alcohol free larger - Heineken. There was live entertainment - a band of 3 guitarist and female vocalist very enjoyable 👏 and it created a great atmosphere outside. The children enjoyed the newly renovated outdoor play area. We won’t hesitate to visit again.

It was OK live music and very expensive beer , taking advantage of holiday trade but that's business, what ever that is ? You could go spoons and save a fortune

We were really looking forward to a lovely carvery on Friday evening before heading home, having had a delicious one here before. Unfortunately, we were bitterly disappointed. We went inside only to find the counter completely empty, and everything switched off. I would have thought it would have been available on Friday evening at the height of summer. No signs, no explanation. Poor and disappointed. We ate elsewhere.

Overall not bad, didn't find it very accessible for a pram though. I had a carvery which was very nice but limited options.

Been here a few times now and it is absolutely amazing. We had a Sunday roast and it was lovely. Great price for the amount of food. Also the perfect place to have a drink in the sunshine. The park is also brilliant for the little kids to keep them occupied. Will definitely be returning.
