Standard wetherspoons but with beautiful surroundings. The imperial is a unique and stunning location. The main building is a bit dreary and in need of renovation but the orangery and outside seating is awesome The food has gone downhill lately. Garlic bread for £4 is terrible and a bowl of a few chips for more than £4. Major let down

Fabulous Christmas Sunday lunch, turkey, trimming and lots of gravy. For two people just over £25 with drinks, such good value. The staff even though the place was packed with diners arrived with drinks and food in good time and all smiling and chatty. Really well done to all the staff working so hard. Beautiful building with so much room in it. Certainly one of the best venues we have been in.

This has got to be one of the best Wetherspoons I have visited. This massive old house that was built in the early 1800's is full of character. One of the main features is the barrel vaulted conservatory or orangery as it is known. This is a great place to dine and is light and airy with views out to the impressive garden area. With the Imperial being about a 5 minute walk from Exeter St David's train station, this Wetherspoons is well worth a visit.

It's Spoons. It's fine. Much nicer then the other Spoons in town. A couple of the staff here are incredibly rude, but the vast majority of them are great. The food is exactly what you expect from this company, and the drinks are bizarrely varied in price, but generally noticeably cheaper than elsewhere.

Been to the Imperial many times when going to watch Exeter City. Great building with several options for choosing where to sit including a stunning orangey or in summer decent size beer garden. Only four star's as on my recent visit one of the bar staff was very cheerfull and happy. I commented on this fact saying it was nice to see. He responded saying that Trump winning the USA election was the reason for his happiness despite it ten days since the election.. I didn't find this offensive myself (although I can't stand Trump) he needs to be careful showing his political allegiance in his role as someone who serves the public as some people would be offended. No doubt Weatherspoons has a policy in place to ensure it's staff are careful about such things.

Good standard of traditional pub fare at competitive prices, with most meals offered with a price inclusive of an alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink, which makes the meal prices very good value. highly highly disappointed with my meal today have been coming to this weather spoons almost every week day for the past 2 years. never in my time here have i been so unsatisfied. They’ve started asking for id for energy drinks, when they never have before, which isn’t my issue. My issue is that when they bought my energy drink over and i couldn’t provide id as i didn’t bring it, i was informed of probably one of the most ridiculous rules i’ve heard by far. If you can not provide id, you will not receive a refund and they will simply keep you money. Which is definitely not great for college students who stuggle with money as is. In addition, when my food arrived my chips were undercooked and could tell they were left under the heat light for too long.

Perfect place to watch rugby and other major sporting events aside from the Superbowl, about which the Brits do not care. Boiling pot for the rich private school kids and state school kids to bury the axe and come to terms to the fact that they will forever despise one another. Quick service as ever today and food very good. Wetherspoons app is excellent for ordering from your table. Only down side is it's £2 for parking. Update August 2024.
