I was just walking around looking for a good spot for dinner when I stumbled upon The India. The staff, especially Ali, were amazing and made me feel very welcome despite me not having made a reservation on what turned out to be a busy night. I had the King Prawn Suka to start, what a revelation of a dish, amazing depth of flavour and tender prawns. For my main I had the Nawabi Lamb Shank as it is their signature dish. I chose well, the lamb was delectable and nicely spiced, the garlic naan was an amazing accompaniment. If you’re on the fence, don’t be, you will not be disappointed! Say hi to Ali for me!

This is a tourist trap. I do not understand all of the positive reviews about this place. This was probably the worst Indian food I have ever eaten. It was also overpriced for the portions provided. I love paneer tikka masala and this is typically my go to at Indian restaurants. I was expecting the spicy sauciness but instead I received bland triangle slices of paneer with a few slices of onions. No sauce, just cheese. Entrees also did not come with rice. We ordered basmati rice and naan. The rice was dry and bland. The garlic naan was dry. The waiter talked our table into ordering the mixed kebab grill and the lamb dish. The latter was inedible and my son said it tasted of spoiled fish. We also ordered the cauliflower dish. Preparation was terrible with very little flavor. A waste of almost 150 pounds. Do not eat here, so disappointing.

The India offers an unforgettable Indian dining experience with rich, flavourful dishes like butter chicken and paneer tikka. The garlic naan is perfectly crisp, and the mango chutney is a refreshing complement. Shout out Ali for his amazing service! Thank you

I was served by Sam and he was not only informative but familiar and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious and excellent value for money. The restaurant is in the basement of the building and is so cosy and atmospheric. Sam and the whole team were incredible hosts and I cannot wait return here again!

This is the best Indian food in London! There is no about this. The onion bhajee, the samosa and tbe mains. You will not be disappointed! Sam is the best server!

The food at India Restaurant is absolutely delicious! The paneer tikka was perfectly spiced and grilled, the garlic naan was soft and flavorful, and the vegetable biryani was fragrant and packed with vibrant flavors. A special shoutout to Sam 🤗🤗🫡, who provided fantastic service with a warm smile and great attention to detail, making our dining experience even better. Highly recommended!

An awesome gem right next to the Tower Bridge. The food here is better than many indian star restaurants. The Dum gosth and lamb chops was absolutely amazing , everything we tried was great. The servers take personal interest and they are give us good recommendations. Thank you the india cannon st !

I've always loved this place. Since my friend introduced me years ago, never have I ever enjoyed an Indian anywhere else. This is my first choice. Chicken tikka masala and the chops. All day every day. Thank you.

The butter chicken was very good, and Sam was charming.

The food was good and service was friendly and attentive. The prices are fair. The dining room is in the lower level, and although quaint, was smoky from the food preparations served which made it unpleasant for a bit. I would recommend dining here if you are in the area.

I always go to an Indian restaurant in London. This one is by far the best. Authentic, fresh and tasty. What more could you ask for? I had the Tandoori King Prawns and it was served with the perfect char since their tandoori is cooked in proper tandoori ovens. Chicken tikka masala was delicious but paired with the perfect pilau rice really made the dish outstanding. Service here is impeccable. Your every need is attended to. Make a reservation, this place is popular and deservedly so.

Absolutely amazing Food and service 10/10. Came across this gem in the city while working in st pauls. Always walk pass it and see its busy thought me and my work lot give it a try for lunch and it did not disappoint. Reasonable price with very tasty meal!!

Massively overbooked and shambolic service. Food was cold but tasted okay. Took an hour to get a glass of water and they just threw food out at random.

I walked in off the street with a friend for dinner. The menu is reasonable with veg and meat selections. We had Dum Gosht and another chicken dish. Also had Naan and Roti with Sp Rice. The portions were perfect and the food was flavorful. Naan was so fresh and soft. Service was also very good. Will certainly eat here again.

The food was good. The service by the waiters was horrible. Unfriendly and not attentive. When I asked for a glass of Pinot Grigio the waiter shouted „White wine??“. It is also very noisy down there, you have to almost shout at each other. All in all a rather disappointing experience. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Hvis du vil have en hyggelig og god madoplevelse med indiske retter så er det her, det rigtige sted. Vi havde bestilt bord, men overvejede at gå da vi ankom til stedet. Udenfor ser det ikke ud til at være noget, men lad ikke skindet bedrage. Nedenunder ligger en skøn resturant, så hyggelig atmosfære. Dejlig mad, og bare duften er skøn. Et besøg værd og god value for pengene. Vi fik en rigtig god service og tjernene var søde og smilende.

Perhaps the food is “Best of the City” as they claim. However, I got the Tandoori Chicken, and while it was good, it was not as good as mine I respectfully say. The flavor was good, spectacular perhaps. However it was on the drier side. The side chutneys were solid- the spicer one was better whereas the peanut one tasted like a mediocre peanut butter. The beers were great- I had several, in fact I’m still drinking. Coconut rice was appreciated. Would recommend, especially for the price, however HMU if you want my tandoori chicken instead- it’s far better. Cheers! Cal
