I ate really well. The cook is a Miss of Italian origin with traditions. The fact that she is the one cooking made me feel very comfortable. In addition, Mr. Lino is a very helpful and friendly person who welcomed me at the door. From time to time both he and the waiters come by to see if we need anything. They offer a lot of attention to customer care. An Italian restaurant that deserves London!!🍝🇮🇹🇬🇧

Very last minute and spontaneously we were looking for a place to grab some dinner and this was just across the road from the tube station we were stood in front of. As I peered through the window, a man (who I presume to be the owner) came out and gestured for us to come inside. They were very accommodating and being greeted with “ciao bella” upon arrival was sweet. It felt very European inside and I loved it. It was an escape from the UK for a couple of hours. The olives (already prepared and put on the centre of every table) were divine! And so was the olive loaf that was offered (for an extra charge) I ordered a glass of house white wine and a seafood linguini. I wasn’t overly impressed with my linguini I’m sad to say and I wasn’t totally convinced it was freshly made. Overall the bill came to £55.50, which I don’t think in London for nibbles, 2 drinks (one of which was wine), two main courses and service charge included that was an unreasonable amount of money.

Gluten free pasta and standard pasta dishes were quite good. Unfortunately, the tuna steak was possibly the worst I’ve ever had. Cooked through - completely dry and brown - and inedible. No employee asked why I hadn’t eaten it when clearing our plates, so I brought it up as I was paying the bill and the employee was dismissive and said, “I don’t know why you’re telling me, you should have told the boss, I’m only his daughter, what do you want me to do.” It was the most expensive thing we ordered and absolutely awful, yet I was going to pay for it without issue (and did!), but the lack of customer service in addition to the poor cooking is disappointing to say the least. Definitely stick to the pasta and be sure not to complain about any issues if you dine here!

I was looking forward to a dinner here as I heard great things regarding GF food. We made reservations for 4 people for 20:45, last of us arrived at 20:40 only to be talked rudely by the waiter. We were told from all the GF options on the menu they could only make the pizza GF because they closed the kitchen (?). Why allow for a 20:45 pm reservation then in the first place? Cannot comment on the food as we left without ordering but horrible service.

AVOID AT ALL COST. We booked a table for 20:45 today for a party of 4, as our friend was celiac, we (2 ppl) arrived first and sat down, no one came down to take our drinks order, the first contact we had with the waiter was when he came down to say "Are your friends even coming? Kitchen is closing, so...?", then when our friends came the waiter said "you can only have pizza, no pasta and no risotto, kitchen is closing" so we argued why did they let us book so late. The waiter (older man) was rude and the lady manager said 'oh well, what did you expect!?' then later on they told us you cant pay with card as we only had drinks, so we need to go take cash out.We argued that in the menu minimum card payment is 10£ and they let us pay then. RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL.

Food was very average. Tinned salmon. Not freshly made. We told our party of 7 had to split our order across pizza and pasta, as the two chefs couldn't manage a big order of one type of dish. They charged us £10 for bread and butter, and olives that we had not asked for but were already on the table. As we were away on business, we needed to pay individually and they wanted to charge us £3 each for paying by card, which has been illegal in the UK for some years. I eat away for business alot, across the UK and have never had issues paying individually. Rude service. Needless to say I will not be back. Which is a shame for the restaurant as we are staying for three weeks just round the corner, and they will miss out on our business.

Visited Cotto for the first time last week with my sister and we were not disappointed! My sister has a wheat allergy so I spent a long time researching restaurants in London which were good with allergies, and I have to say Cotto is the best restaurant we've ever visited for this. The owner has celiac and started the business because he was afraid of eating out in other restaurants (most don't have a great attitude towards allergies). It was very refreshing to talk to someone who knows that a wheat allergy is not the same as gluten free! Almost the entire menu could be done wheat free (they cater for a variety of allergies), and my sister was so happy to have so many options to choose from, including freshly made pasta! They also had lovely wheat free (and gluten free) bread. We both chose the same main course (one wheat free) and my sister also had a wheat free cheesecake. The food was all delicious and the service was great! We'll definitely be back next time we're visiting London! This is a small local family run business so please support them, I wish we lived closer as this is definitely somewhere we would visit frequently! If you are nervous about eating out with a food allergy then this is the place for you! Thank you for a lovely and worry free meal!

The least customer- and tourist-friendly place I've ever been. Just feel like it deserves a heads-up for anyone unaware of the experience here. I hope your experience is different and wonderful, if you do go! The food was delicious. The male manager and the atmosphere were both the worst I've ever encountered in a long time. I'm not sure if this is temporary or not, but it's basically a long hallway with tables crammed into it that was so cacophonously loud and echoing we had to shout at each other the entire dinner. Couldn't hear the person next to me at our own table. A kitchen assistant of some kind came up to our table with a huge tray of bread and just stood there and literally barely spoke when we tried to ask questions, which made us feel really confused and self-conscious. We were just trying to ask how many pieces we could/should take. We should have taken more as they never returned with it. Our water was also never once refilled -- they only are attentive to those who order alcohol. It was sweltering, despite them supposedly having the AC on, and we were extremely hot having walked there. I recognize as Americans we are used to cooler temps but we were truly dripping in sweat and it was even hotter inside than out, so I asked politely to keep my menu as a fan until I was able to cool down; while the woman manager was nice enough and had zero problems with this, not ten minutes later the man manager (owner?) was incredibly rude and literally was arguing with me and tried to take it from my hand while I wasn't looking. It was like he couldn't deal with me having it, just on principle, not for any real reason. It's not as if they were in a drought for menus! Only 20 people can even fit in that restaurant. I hope it was an off day for them, but felt like a heads-up was warranted.

We were staying at the Marlin Waterloo and we decided to visit Cotto for dinner on our last night in London. It's just steps away from our hotel and while we chose it for convenience, it was some of the best food we had on our trip. We made a reservation, which I highly recommend doing as it is a small restaurant, we arrived a bit early and they were able to seat us almost immediately. It's is clearly a family run restaurant in the best possible way. Regular customers came in while we were there and they were so warmly greeted and we, as tourists, were taken care of with just as much warmth and care. We had their home made bread to start, which I think I could write a love letter to, along with the Insalata Caprese. The Caprese was so fresh, and beautiful to look at. I had the Rigatoni Matrigiana and was blown away by the fresh, flavorful sauce. My spouse had the Spaghetti Carbonara, I stole a bite and found it to be rich, creamy and decadent. He is a bit traditional, and while he enjoyed it greatly, he did comment that traditional carbonara doesn't include cream in the sauce. (I think I liked this version better! I have had a hard time with carbonara being bitter in the past and heavy feeling.) We finished our meals with a Crostata Limone and a Tiramisu and a glass of port each. Both desserts were clearly homemade and perfectly fresh. The Crostata was light and fresh with wonderful lemon flavor. The tiramisu was creamy and had clear coffee flavors that stole the show. Overall a wonderful meal and a wonderful way to bookend our last night in London.

+ Super tasty pizzas (Primavera, Cotto, Salame) - rather unfriendly service (the boss grimaced slightly because you only ordered 3 soft drinks) Way too many service employees. This makes it uncomfortable. You felt stressed because you had the feeling that you had to be "handled" as quickly as possible. 6 GBP (1.50 pp) for the coperto AND 10% forced tip is cheeky! We paid extra in cash. The change of 0.90 GBP was “forgotten” to bring. We left it at that. It's not about the 0.90 GBP, it's about the principle if you were already forced to tip 12.50 GBP. loud, uncomfortable atmosphere. We as a family would definitely not come here again because we were given the feeling that we weren't making enough sales. Better to go back to the grocery store to get dinner than to lose £75 and no one is happy at the end. Sorry, with the best will in the world we couldn't order a whole portion per child. There were already leftovers because we ordered too much because of a “guilty conscience”.

This restaurant is small and could easily be overlooked, but if you're coeliac or want to go out with anyone who is coeliac or gluten intolerant, then this is the place to go! A family run restaurant, very welcoming and friendly. The menu has gluten-free options priced in green, and everything containing gluten is priced in black ink. The difference in pricing between gluten and non gluten is not large (unlike gluten-free rolls in the supermarket - Warburtons, I'm looking at you - you can do better!). I had the spaghetti bolognese but with gluten free tagliatelle as they had run out of gf spaghetti. It was delicious and the portion sizing was just right. I then had the gf chocolate fudge cake which was also delicious and I devoured it! I didn't take any photos as I was too busy enjoying my food! It's a comfortable walk from Westminster bridge and not that far from Waterloo either. Now I know where it is, I will certainly be back whenever I next visit London.

This restaurant is a gift to the world, especially to those who can’t eat gluten. The owner was super friendly and has Celiac’s so he knows the gluten-free struggle. On top of that, the food was delicious, of great value, and I’ve never gotten to choose my bread and butter from a huge basket before. I had the hot salami pizza and it was Wonderful.

The safest I felt eating out in a long time. The owner has celiac and understands the needs of us with the disease. But more importantly it was delicious. I mean, gluten free lasagna in a restaurant that tastes delicious? Bolognese on a pizza? Yes please. You'll find it here. Plus like 99% of the menu has gf options listed right next to the regular ones so you don't feel cheated like at most other "allergy friendly" restaurants where they just take off the sauce or something. Highly recommend. Oh yeah, and the gluten eating people in my party said their's was delicious as well. Bonus!

We came to town from the US about a week ago and tried new places each night. We found this place close to our hotel and decided to try it out for dinner. We were blown away! Two of us have gluten allergies, and they had a ton of gluten free options. The GF bread was unreal. The main courses were our if this world! You can tell the owner pours his heart in to his business and it shows in the food and service. We came back the very next night and tried more of what they have to offer. This place is a must if you’re in the area. You will not be disappointed!!!

We were greeted by super friendly staff, but after that the service went downhill. The lady that served us was very abrupt and generally not friendly. The food was below standard, the carbonara was dry, the pancetta was cold and chewy. It just didn’t taste fresh, or like it was made with care.

We were staying nearby and searched for a soot to take a friend joining us for lunch. We were greeted and knew immediately that Cotto was the right choice for us. Pizza and bolognese were both perfect. Service was friendly and jovial.

Went to Cotto to meet a friend it used to be a neighbourhood gem when I worked down the road but it's still easily accessible just opposite Lambeth north tube. Great to go back and enjoy fabulous food and drink in an understated atmosphere.

Even if you're not celiac or gluten free, go here. The food was amazing, but the absolute luxury they provided my wife who is celiac was amazing. The gluten free bread is off the charts, the best my wife had ever eaten. Interacting with the owner was special, and he was great. I truly can't recommend this place enough.

A real gem. Warm, attentive, exuberant staff and a charming family cucina vibe. Opera music playing and the owner singing along. Magical! Don’t be put off by the rather simple decor; the food is glorious. I had tagliatelle salmone (handmade pasta) and it was some of the best Italian food I’ve eaten in the UK. I love tiramisu and eat it all the time, and that was also one of the tastiest I’ve eaten. So cheap too — I’ve paid double the money for food half as good elsewhere. They also do lots of gluten free, which didn’t apply to me, but interesting!

The restaurant markets gluten free options and there are. However, the gluten free tagliatelle was very poor, large congealed lumps. The rest of the food was OK without being great and the decor was very tired with visible daylight through a hole next to a very old and dirty air conditioning unit. Wouldn’t go back

Our table was booked for 7:15 but after walking round London all day we went early on the off chance we could be squeezed in. We were greeted with a very warm and friendly welcome . They found us a table as another couple had just finished. Food was delicious, surprisingly good value and excellent service. If you’re in the area and fancy an Italian don’t miss out!!!

Yesterday was the first time we went to this place. But It is no doubt not the last time. We enjoyed the evening very much with the courteous service, with the high quality meal and fine drinks and with the friendly cost. We will surely go back there soon.

This is a good place to have lunch. The Mediterranean salad with tuna is nice. My only quibble is the music is too loud. I'd turn it off.

When they ran out of oranges for fresh juice, they divided one glass of juice into two right in front of me and filled each glass with so much ice that the cup was full of ice and only half-filled with juice. They handed these glasses to me and my wife, each containing less than 100 ml of juice and packed with ice, right at the counter where just a second ago, they served a normal, full glass of orange juice without ice to the previous customer. I politely asked if this was acceptable and received the response, ‘What’s wrong with that? I just felt like adding some ice for you.’ They managed to ruin our mood and any desire to visit this café again in less than a minute.
