The Ivy Asia, Chelsea in Kensington and Chelsea

I Went there with my Wife for NYE and the staff were great and the food (and cocktails) was absolutely sensational, I mean Michelin level. Well done Ivy Asia and thanks for a giving us a perfect evening.

New Years’ Eve 2024 Food was mid. Expensive and unremarkable. Reminiscent of supermarket ready meals. Service was sorely lacking. Had to sit in the waiting area with a pram for our table to be prepared. Handed menus but not served. Service was generally abrupt. Surroundings were typical Ivy: maximalist and both impressive and tired. Menus were sticky and the place was generally slightly unkempt.

Karyna was part of the experience. She is amazing ! The service was so enjoyable thanks to her.

I have been to the Ivy Asia on a few occasions. Previous times I have enjoyed it, the food has been good. However, I had to mark it down significantly as their festive afternoon tea was significantly worse then my other visits. The food was below average, with the bao buns being really dry and undedfilled. They advertised that you could order coffee, but when we asked our server said no so we had to order tea. With that, you are only allowed one pot of tea, which we had to ask for after all our savory food as it wasn't offered. Overall, the service was incredibly poor, the waiters were not very friendly and very inattentive. The two stars are awarded as previously I enjoyed their main menu.

I’ve had the upmost warming experience at Ivy Asia, Kings Rd. There was a big group of us and had a lovely lady Karyna serve us she made the whole experience better.

We tried their festive menu and it was AMAZING. Everything from their presentation to the taste was great. 10/10- would surely recommend.

I went for my birthday and it was well celebrated, with the staff bringing out complimentary mochi. The best dish in my opinion was the miso black cod, which had immaculate flavour. The popcorn chicken, tuna sushi platter and beef tataki also had lovely taste. The hot items, however, could only warm, so this aspect could have been improved. As always, The Ivy Asia has beautiful decor and excellent service. There was a realistic statue standing in the male toilets which did give me a surprise.

We went to The Ivy Asia Chelsea restaurant to celebrate my mother’s birthday. The restaurant is absolutely stunning, with a fantastic atmosphere. Everything is designed to perfection. The food was exceptionally delicious and full of flavour. However, the waiters were not friendly, and the overall welcome felt quite cold. When we asked one of the waiters for a recommendation, he didn’t even seem to know how to suggest a dish, which was quite surprising! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the food, but the lack of friendliness from the waiters was very noticeable.

We booked a table for a late birthday meal and the experience went far beyond my expectations, I had an allergy and I was treated with utmost respect and care by Karyna , the service was quite possibly the best I’ve ever recieved, I’ve been working in hospitality for almost a decade now and managing restaurants for about 5 and all I have to say about my experience is that it’s quite possibly the best example of how a dining experience should go, My servers name was Karyna . Honestly again it was quite possibly the best time I’ve ever had at a restaurant.

Sunday 22.12.24 My friend and I decided to visit the restaurant for a couple of cocktails and to have a good time. However, from the very beginning, our mood was spoiled. We were not offered to leave our coats, and I had to ask for someone to take them to the cloakroom. Then, we were asked to wait at a small table by the entrance until a spot at the bar became available. We were fine with that, but after 20 minutes and asking twice, nothing had changed. We were getting tired of waiting, so we decided to place our order. As soon as we made our order, within just a couple of minutes, a dark-haired hostess came over and told us that we could move to our table. We were happy and followed her. However, as soon as we sat down, she approached us again, and without apologizing, she said that we needed to go back to the entrance because she had mixed up the seating. I do not consider this acceptable service, and it completely ruined my mood for the evening.

A pre-Christmas treat that was terrific. Staff attention was friendly and helpful when ordering. The menu choices were extensive. We found the food a perfect fusion of crowd pleasers and interest. All delicious. 3 small plates and a large plate between 2 was sufficient when accompanied by a couple of glasses of house champagne. The restaurant is also a feast for the eyes with amazing floors and artwork on the walls. Will return.

Even though we had booked well in advance, they made us wait 20 minutes to be seated. The table was small, the staff was unprepared. We waited more than 1 hour for our food, which wasn't even good. For paying a high price this is not the service you expect. Nice decor overall

Karyna was the most lovely waitress and took care of us from start to finish. The food was fabulous.

We had a lovely meal at Ivy Asia The pork belly was crispy and tasty The prawn toast was cooked nicely and you could actually taste the prawns. The accompanying sauce was spicy. Maasman lamb was delicious the jasmine rice that came with the meal could have used a bit more jasmine. The kimchi rice and spicy noodles were also very flavourful. The bottle of Gavi was nice. The negative: the music was too loud and the violin that played along was piercing and annoying. The waiter we had was rushing us, he was 15 mins late getting our first drink and then proceeded to tell us we only had 90 mins at the table. He then started to take plates away while we were still eating. And while I am still chewing on my pork belly he whispers in my ear if I am ready to order desert. At this point I was frustrated and told him no - so he ruined the experience, I didn’t get a chance to review the desert menu, after dinner drinks, coffee, etc. things you normally do at dinner. Service seems to be a common theme in other comments and with my experience I doubt I would return. Dining is meant to be an experience and if I just wanted to eat fast I would have gone down the road to five guys for a burger, at least there I know exactly what to expect.

This is a real gem in the centre of Chelsea, but Ivy Asia has so much more going for it than just location. The ambiance is the Orient Express meets private members club plus exquisitely served food . The tastes are one of the best fusion foods I have encountered and the decor makes you lose yourself for a while as its opulent yet very warm and welcoming . I must admit the real fun part are the staff Karyna , Angello, Gabriella and the team go out of their way to make sure everyone has a wonderful time and they are warm and welcoming no matter how difficult the clientele ' sometimes 😀 ' Being vegan challenges most places and staff , but not here , we receive care and consideration with the staff taking extra care to get our needs perfect 🙏🏻💚 Thank you so much and see you soon 🥰

I have book a table at 9:30 PM we arrive 15 mins as recomendation. We had to wait for 45 mins in the midle of the corridor which was such a small place and the staff was passing by with plates which conduct us to feel very inconfortable so we decide to wait outside while the table get ready even knowing that was really cold outside, when we seat down our waiterss didnt seen very happy to attend us, everyone had order their food but i have not get my food for 30 mins after everyone get their food, so we ask the waitress what happend with my food, instaed to apologize she accuse my brother which was his birthday that he didnt order properly so that why i didnt get my food, this seem very embarrasing for us and unrespefull that acting on this way than get the food right and just apologise, the food was great but we did not enjoy it very well as the customer service received has been let our overall experience down, also when we wanted to pay the bill we take another 15 mins to be attended which we had to call out two different waiter to be able to pay and leave. i do not expect this kind of service after expending 339£ in a such as good reputation place which was why we decide to celebrate my brother birthday but instade of that we did get a unrespecfull service and make a special day in a specail place just a minor day.
