We attended the New Years Eve dinner last night and it turned out to be our best ever visit to the Ivy in Marlow. On arrival at our table we were each given a fabulous pop out menu with flashing lights and music. Service from Josh was outstanding, entertainment was excellent. I do not know how they managed to serve up food to so many people at such a high standard! Our party had the lobster / prawn cocktail to start and Sea Bass and tenderloin fillet steak for the main which were both outstanding. Chocolate bombs for desert were also a spectacle to receive and tasted fabulous. This New Years Eve dinner was fantastic value for money, I thoroughly recommend this restaurant (with hesitation as I believe with this level of service it will become so popular in 2025 that I will not be able to get a table).

We came here on Boxing Day 12 people expecting something lovely and special unfortunately we didn't get that. The food was okay but quite sparse and there were no extra touches no crackers no christmassy things on the table nothing really to show that it was Christmas apart from a great big snowman outside on the pavement. It was all very average and the bill was over £900. I really expected a lot more and was looking forward to this. I had a steak which was literally just a steak with a small offering of rocket on the side and some chips just not worth the money at all. My husband had the turkey offering which was turkey with stuffed meat on a bed of cabbage with a load of green beans nothing else very strange and far too many beans for one person. I think if people come out to a restaurant on Boxing Day they expect something special. The Ivy didn't deliver this. I think this will probably now be my last trip here as the place is just so hit and miss. You could also tell that the staff were not particularly happy about being there on Boxing Day. Overall disappointing and overpriced.

Usually love coming here. Food was excellent. I have no complaints about the food. I have two concerns. First one was where we were sitting, opposite the bar. Very noisy mainly banging of coffee machine and empty bottles in bin. This could so easily be rectified. Our waiter was pleasant but very unlike the ivy he chucked the food on the table Spilt chips over table and did nothing and went away. Shame as food was very good.

Having received a champagne voucher as Christmas present, booked a table to take advantage of generous gift. We were made to feel guilty when I presented voucher, it took at least ten minutes for waiting staff to verify gift voucher after them saying that the champagne part of gift was only available until end of March (which was in small print at bottom of voucher! so meaning extra money paid was wasted!). We queried this and received 2 glasses as we were regulars. We went the following December in time of gift voucher. Made to feel like we were not worthy to be there.

Starters and the rest was good and on the expensive side even if for a special occasion.

As avid and regular visitors to many of the Ivy establishments including Marlow, where we decided to return, as we've been many times, we had no concerns of not having a great time. Whoever once receiving the festive menu we were told that the turkey Xmas meal wasn't available because the turkeys haven't been delivered. How can you not have turkey at Xmas? So, we ordered an alternative meal and a bottle of Laurent & Perrier Rosé our favorite. Starters turned up absolutely superb, cheese souffle was to die for. My alternative main was a rib'eye steak but it was full of fat and grisle and and couldn't cut it, let alone eat it. Was replaced by a fillet steak which was only marginally better. The manager who apologised profusely and said he would take the steak off the bill. To cheer ourselves up I decided to order another bottle of L&P (as it was my birthday) only to be told they run out!!!! When we were presented with the bill, the steak had been taken off and I was given a birthday desert free of charge. The bill was over £250 and I was still charged about £30 for service. Not happy! It would be interesting to get a response from the Ivy management.

Allocated a terrible table. In the conservatory, table too small for five guests and next to serving staff station. Two chairs and a bench seat, different heights and bench seat too high for the table, with centre section too far from the table - could not get close enough to the table to eat comfortably. Food was good and cocktails tasty. However, restricted table meant that we didn't bother with starters, desserts or coffee. Not a table to linger at. Serving staff were pleasant, but some other staff seemed to not be happy in their roles and certainly did not provide the quality of service I expected.

The service was amazing, but the menu wasn't anything that amazing it was a steak on its own, a burger, or fish and mash. It was all very small. All sides cost extra. Our bill was £200 for 2 starters, 2 meals, no extras, 2 deserts, 1 glass of wine, and a beer. I had trouble with my main, and it had to go back by the time it came back. I really hate doing these kinds of reviews, I am Restaurant owner myself. We visit the restaurant regularly, without child and now with our son. Three weeks ago we visited the restaurant and at the end of the evening our son got up and was walking down,Customers waved to him , we'll make sure no one is disturbed, as I mentioned before, we have our own restaurant. An employee immediately came over and warned us, "Guests feel disturbed." We had already finished our meal, got up and left, so far so good. Last evening ( That day was Halloween, many guests were in costumes, including the staff; so the atmosphere was relaxed ) our business partners came from abroad, which I mentioned when making the reservation, and they also have a 9-year-old child. We didn't feel welcome at reception. We were given a table in the corner of the winter garden which was far too small for 6 people. So as not to ruin our evening, we said nothing. Our orders came very late, drinks after two reminders. Two side dishes were not brought at all, which we didn't make a problem of as we had enough. The two children sitting the whole evening and played with toys they had brought themselves. They were neither loud nor disruptive in any way. My steak, which was ordered medium, came completely well done so I called the waiter and showed it to him. He told me that it was normal for medium to get redder towards the end?! Sorry but this isn't the first time I've eaten steak. I have never experienced anything like this before, no sorry, no asking if he can bring a new one, instead he gives me a lesson on what a medium steak is. The meat was definitely completely well done. Also, the meat came completely cold and sauces were only brought when we asked for them. I asked another waitress to look at my steak. She apologised and confirmed that it was not medium and took it and brought me a new one. Later on the bill I saw that my steak had been charged twice for being brought again. When we ordered our desserts, for which we also paid, the children got up and walked around our table runners up and down the aisle 2-3 times. I repeat, we take great care that the children don't disturb anyone and took them back to the table. Immediately another employee came over and said customers felt disturbed. We were so uncomfortable that we got up and left without eating our dessert, which we had paid for. When we asked for the bill, the waiter told us that he would give us a discount, sorry but we didn't ask for a discount? It was so uncomfortable for us that we were literally humiliated by our gestures. We were also talking about how child-friendly uk is compared to other European countries. Our guests said that they had never felt so uncomfortable and unwanted. We do not recommend a visit with children, no matter how well behaved they are, children are not welcome here and they will make you feel that so that you will want to get up and leave as quickly as possible. Our day was ruined, thank you for that.

Don’t believe the hype. Unless you are name dropping and pretending you have wealth, the staff don’t really seem to attentive. I have been to a few different ivy restaurants and this was the worst experience we had. The food was very good but the waiting staff spent too much time ‘brown nosing’ people that they thought were ‘important’. We noticed other people complaining about this too. Firstly, let me say the service was excellent and both starters of salt & pepper squid and crispy duck salad were actually quite exceptional. As for the mains however, the lobster linguini was disappointingly already off the menu at 6:15pm on a Saturday evening. Opting for the filleted sea bass, I didn’t expect to be extracting bones on the first mouthful and the fish itself was what I could only describe as soggy! The accompanying vegetable sides were definitely the highlight of our mains! The venue looks fresh and lovely and there was a good buzz towards the end of our sitting. We were sat in the conservatory, which was, in my opinion, the best area to be seated and with the tea lights lit, it provided a cozy romantic environment. However, beware, the flooring which leads to that area is very slippery - a special warning to ladies in high heels and the elderly. It really was like an ice rink - on arriving I had to hold onto my husband’s arm and on departing, I slid into the side of a full table. Nothing to do with alcohol consumption, I assure you! The staircase to the toilets is shared with serving staff running up and down from the kitchen, which is on the same level. Very noticeable were the sticky bannisters! Given the variety of restaurants in the area, we’re not likely to return.

My wife and I went to The Ivy for her birthday around 3pm today. The food was good but the customer service was absolutely terrible! Our waiter (male short brown hair) the manager knows who I mean, forgot the high chair for our daughter which we only noticed half way through the meal while we were juggling her, (not the biggest deal) and also forgot my wife's drink, I approached him and asked kindly "Hi mate, I just wanted to check on my wife's drink" a normal response would have been sorry I'll get that now for you or something. Instead he didn't even acknowledge me at all, instead sarcastically saying to the bartender, and one aperol sprits. I told the manager about this and he made the waiter apologise but when he did so it was so obvious he didn't give a care in the world that it just made the whole situation worse. The whole thing ruined our experience and the afternoon of what otherwise was a lovely day. I have been a waiter and a manager and have nothing but respect for the tough job they do, but this young man's pompous attitude was not professional and in result we will not be going back again.

The Ivy Marlow Garden is a lovely eatery worth visiting in Marlow on the high street. It has the interior decor and feel of other Ivy restaurants that I’ve been to. The staff are very friendly and polite. The menu has a good selection to choose from (the black cod, the salmon and the shepherds pie are good). I chose the 1917 menu for calamari and thin beaten rump steak - this was really good and a good set price. There is an extensive wine list to choice from and a couple decent beers. If you can try and get seated under the lantern light towards the end of the restaurant and these have good oval tables and comfy seats. Recommended.

Having booked a table for 5 on the 11th August and received confirmation, we were looking forward to eating at this iconic restaurant. Upon arrival, we were told there was no record of our booking. A manager was summoned, and a table found. Not a good for a birthday treat. Inside the Ivy, the décor was excellent … a far cry from the food we were served which wasn’t. Three of our party opted for Sunday roast from our server, a young lady who seemed extremely bored and totally disinterested in us and her job. Three roasts arrived, one without gravy. We immediately requested some, but none came. We again requested gravy. After 10 minutes, still no gravy, and one lunch, a shepherd’s pie, had also failed to materialise. I asked our disinterested server if a search party might be organised for gravy plus pie. She made a face and tapped something into her computer. The pie eventually arrived, burnt to a cinder – see photo. When I complained, all our server could say was “sorry about that”. Then incredibly, turned on her heels and disappeared. We finally ordered desserts which arrived together with 6 pots of gravy. Message to The Ivy management. Retrain your door greeters so that guests are welcomed and not shown the door sans lunch. Retrain your servers. When a customer complains, ensure something is done immediately to rectify. Have stern words with your chefs so that burnt food, which could be carcinogenic, is never served. Ensure that roast lunches are always served with gravy … and ice creams are not.

Everything is beautiful and wonderful We ordered a chicken and quinoa salad which was very delicious There are healthy fish and chips, fried and deep-fried, but we did not eat the crusts The crew has the highest level of taste and ethics And the place is very beautiful And the prices are good They have a fab that we haven't tried, but it looks good

Lovely place with good food and well-informed staff. We had a lovely waiter who enjoyed speaking about the wines with us . He recommended we try the Ivy Asia in Mayfair, which we did and loved.

I wanted to go to the Ivy for lunch on my birthday, and we chose Marlow as we used to live in the area and love the town. We had a 1.5 hour drive, and I have to say it was worth it. Everything was just perfect. The food was wonderful, so full of flavour and beautifully presented. The service was excellent, the timings between courses just right. Our waiter was so lovely (I didn't get his name). He asked if we were celebrating anything and I told him it was my birthday, so he brought a profiterole with a candle along with our desserts! I was thrilled, what a lovely gesture. Something like that doesn't cost the restaurant much, but is a lovely and memorable thing. We would definitely go to the Ivy again. One small thing, although it was a very hot day and I could understand men wearing shorts (as my husband did, having phoned to check it was OK), some of the male customers looked decidedly scruffy, in t-shirts and flip-flops. I think perhaps the "smart casual" dress code should perhaps be better enforced. It was lovely to see so many ladies in pretty dresses, but some of the men left a lot to be desired!

Fabulous lunch with a friend yesterday. Everything was perfect. The food exquisite and service exemplary. What a wonderful experience. Special thanks to our waiter Fraser. He was fun but professional. A lovely young man who has obviously be properly brought up and well trained in his job. 10/10

We went for lunch yesterday and opted for the £19.17 menu. It was wonderful. Couldn’t fault a thing. We did add the courgette frites as a nibble before and they were plentiful and delicious. Our waiter, Fraser, was perfect. Polite and fun in the right quantities. He has evidently been very well brought up and well trained. 10/10 to Fraser!!!

What a strange dining experience! Service by younger personnel seemed forced, without sincerity. The vibe inside is great by all measures. And yet the food was disappointing; I.e., salmon was “mushy”, the salad wet .. and yet the cod was delicious. If you’re a foodie, suggest going elsewhere.

Ordered cod and chips. Seemed to be ready immediately so not made to order. Could be the reason why the fish was soggy and tasteless, as were the chips. Soggy chips with no crunch to them whatsoever. Curry sauce was lukewarm. Asked for lots of salt and vinegar and received hardly any. Not a pleasant meal, one of the worst fish and chips I’ve had.

Have been here on a few occasions and always ask myself why do I keep coming back. Food is always cold sitting here now eating burnt cold pitta bread.
