The Kings Arms in Eastbourne

Myself and my colleague were presenting a very important proposal to our clients and chose a fairly well presented venue for lunch. Upon entering we were subjected to a hostile vocal exchange between the two female bar staff. It became clear that one of the females involved in the altrication was in fact the license holder and manager Obviously we adjourned our business arrangement to a more agreeable venue and have made a formal complaint to the council and looking forward to New management

We just moved away from Eastbourne but I have to say I will really, really miss this local , friendly, family pub. I loved popping in after work for a bottle of very reasonably priced wine and on a Tuesday, £2,50 a pint. There are pool tables out back and BT sport in both the front and back bars. The landlady regularly hosts charity events with a variety of local tribute acts such as Amy Winehouse, and there are drag shows which sell out quick too. Karaoke is on a Friday and Sunday night and attracts a regular crowd. It really has something for everyone.

I had the pleasure of seeing an extraordinary entertainer, one would call a drag queen!! But so much more than that!! Attentive staff and a great atmosphere!! The people there were gay friendly and unthreatening! The bar tenders were attentive and very nice!!

don't visit here! the management wouldn't even fill up my water bottles for my kids during a heatwave, said they don't do this! I think this Is against the law aswell as a total lie as every pub serves tap water! was told there is a shop down the road to bye water on the way out, probably one of most unwelcoming pubs in Eastbourne

Nice Victorian building with a large front bar and smaller rear. Still has the original stained glass windows and ceiling. About a mile along Seaside Road from the centre. It was our first visit. Not surprisingly, very much a local but we were made welcome. Karaoki on at the time but better than most and very enjoyable.

Won’t be returning. The owner decided to pick an argument as soon as I walked in. No particular reason as I’ve never even been asked to leave before. If your face don’t fit. Don’t enter. The place is a dive. Keep well away 🤮

It is no wonder that there is a preservation order on this pub. The plasterwork is a masterpiece... particularly the back room. The service is very friendly. A perfect place to have a few beers and relax in an ‘old school’ local. Sunday and Tuesday offer “Happy Hours” and on Sunday and Thursday there is karaoke. Children welcome.

I live In Elm park court across the road & work 14hr shifts, The music is so loud i can hear every word, when karaoke is on, I even wear ear plugs to try & get to sleep, need to shut all my window's even when its been so hot outside. This is really affecting my life & work. No Respect at all for any of the local residents who need to get up early in the morning, I understand friday nights, but not Tuesday nights. I WILL BE REPORTING IT. Its disgraceful.

Wow. I didn't know places like this were still in existence. It hasn't been decorated for about 30/40 years. The carpet was absolutely rank. Behind the bar I saw a jar of pickled eggs!! The jar was FILTHY and had dirty & greasy hand marks all round it. The staff are rude. A blonde middle aged bar maid served us and you could tell we weren't really welcome as this seems a staunchly local pub where "outsiders" aren't really welcome. People were staring at us & were talking about us & not in a nice way. Some drunk guy was openly ogling my wife. We felt a tad intimidated & left but not before the karaoke started. It was too loud & it seems only 1 singer, the karaoke guys pal who murdered everything he sang, obscure 70s Stuff. This place is an absolute dive & I'd recommend you avoid this pub. It looks nice from outside but please don't be deceived.

We spent a nice 3 hours in this pub when we walked in I wasn't too sure if it was my type of place but I was pleasantly surprised staff where excellent and the customer very Pleasant and made you feel welcome definitely go back

Walked in and nearly walked out again, but so glad we stayed. A really friendly pub full of locals with loads of atmosphere. Much better than the pubs in the centre of Eastbourne.

Ogni volta che vado in un paese britannico tra i tanti pub delle città ne cerco sempre uno come questo, uno che non ha bisogno di tanti fronzoli, il posto è semplice e i clienti anche. Spesso entrano lavoratori a fine turno ancora coi vestiti sporchi. Mi sento a mio agio in questi posti. Le birre non sono costose e non credo ci sia una cucina perchè qui si beve. C'è un jukebox in cui dopo qualche birra si cominciano a inserire monetine e a far sentire a tutti le canzoni che piacciono. Apprezzate quelle '70 '80. Ovviamente se tornerò a Eastbourne sarà il primo posto in cui andrò. Se amate i posti fighetti non fa per voi.
