Over priced poor quality food small portions with Hidden service charges not value for money

Brilliant food, the staff were very good about allergies and the atmosphere was very chill.

Called into Lucas Arms on visit to London for pre show drinks & meal - used Green King app to find pub (as we would know what to expect in terms of food/drink offerings). had a wonderful couple of hours in pub - lovely hosts - chatty but not overly invasive - food order was delivered quickly & nice & hot - would recommend - had nice warm & welcoming feeling

Very fast service that makes you think of pre-cooked food, we took mac & cheese which was a simple parmesan pasta (there was no trace of the other cheeses listed on the menu) and a steak which had simply been reheated, and also bad in terms of the center was not hot, served with cherry tomatoes (3 in number) "roasted" while they had been passed on the plate 10 seconds per side and were still hard. Bill too high for the quality

I always stop here for lunch if I’m early for my train, great prices and friendly staff. Quality pub grub.

Super dog friendly and the staff are just awesome. As soon as I arrived to see my friends they gave my puppy lots of attention and got him a water bowl. Beers and food was great all good prices I will deffo be back

Please don't walk past this delightful and friendly pub. Honestly if I had this as my local, I'd never leave. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, the food was good quality, well cooked pub grub and the drinks were good value too. Great place for a family catch up. Visited the pub for lunch yesterday. Food was lovely and staff were very friendly!! Will be back with family on the weekend!!!

We went there twice for dinner. The first time the food was great. The second time it was a complete disaster. We ate flat iron steak. There were 5 pieces of meat the size of goulash on the plate, a few fries, 3 small tomatoes and a small pot of sauce for £19.25. The sauce was cold, the rest was luke warm. We complained about the children's portion or about the whole meal. The answer was: it's steak and London. I'm an expert myself and flat iron is definitely not expensive meat. 3 people had the same menu. We were told that as an apology the drinks would be on the house. There was no charge for 2 cokes, all other drinks had to be paid for. And then we were allowed to pay a fee for this service. It was the very last one.

He pasado por delante de este pub muchas veces, pero nunca he estado en él hasta hoy ... y volveremos! Mi marido, mis padres y nuestro hijo de ocho años tuvieron un almuerzo de Año Nuevo, y fue fantástico. Comida sabrosa hecha por encargo, y tan encantador, acogedor personal que no podía hacer más por nosotros. El gerente italiano y el miembro del personal femenino (lamentablemente, no conseguimos sus nombres) eran muy amables y tuvimos una charla encantadora con ellos. El pub estaba muy ocupado para Nueva York, y tenía un gran ambiente. Muy recomendable.

We stopped here for quiet afternoon snack, me and my young son. A typical British pub, relaxed and welcoming. Being the holidays, it was quite quiet. Friendly and swift table service. Good drinks menu (nice to see English wines by the glass) and the small plates were generally nice - the calamari was hard and dry, I’d avoid that, but everything else was really tasty, especially the fried chicken. I would suggest that for the 3-cheese Mqc and cheese, it should be clearly advertised that one of the cheeses is blue. My son doesn’t like blue and I assume he’s not the only one - the dish is strongly flavoured with blue cheese, quite overwhelmingly, so he could only manage a few bites. I like blue cheese but it overwhelmed me too. We barely touched it in the end.

Good location but food was really just not that great. Roast turkey was very dry and Mac and Cheese was nothing special at all.

This place is just far enough away from Kings Cross and as a result has a lovely vibe. I've eaten here 4 or 5 times and the dishes are always a good deal better than you'd expect from a standard pub menu. Music doesn't blare, staff are cool.

We were in London at the beginning of November and have fond memories of our visit to this pub. Friendly service, good selection of drinks and the food was also good. Good price-performance ratio.

A much needed respite on an arduous trip from the other side of the world. I had 3 hours to kill before grabbing a train up norf, and this was a lovely way to do it ❤️

The guy at the bar was super helpful. Got the half chicken Sunday roast and it was so good. Lots of beer options as well.

Food was just average but the fact I liked the least was when the waitress gave me the card reader to pay, with a superquick move she added the tip without me noticing. I don’t mind the few quids but I do want to be offered the choice. Please instruct your staff to act properly.

I had a brilliant experience here. Absolutely smashing. Food was very good, as you'd expect from a Greene King pub. Excellent variety of beverages to choose from, all at reasonable prices. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location near to Kings Cross Station and not far from Farringdon. Very down to earth, doesn't try to be something which it isn't - in that it is not super fancy. I will return soon. Highly recommended!

A great pub feeling with good food

Lovely evening spent in the Lucas arms. Very busy evening but food was ordered and delivered quickly and enjoyed by both. Even managed to swop my seasoned fries for chips. Reasonably priced.

Great friendly little pub. The host, Angela, was helpful and chatty, really making us feel at home and welcome. Food was very good too.We look forward to visiting again for our next match in the city

Great place for some fish and chips and a pint! Off the beaten path so no where near as busy as everything near the main line.

First time visiting the pub, as my friends and I were just in London for a few days. The food was good, however, our experience was let down, with our initial interactions by our young server, who rather rudely reprimanded us for sitting at the table before it had been cleaned, as this was our first visit we were not aware of this or seen any notification regarding this rule, we were also told off again rather rudely to put menus back just as we had returned to our table after placing our order, this service did leave us feeling rather unwelcome and did not encourage us to return.

A simple, down-to-earth pub – exactly what you want! The service was so friendly that we almost felt like regulars. Please, please stay nice - you are the real secret sauce of this pub!

I booked a table for 10 people for 19th Oct of which 4 of them were small children. This had been booked in advance based on the lovely reviews I had read about the service. As you can appreciate, trying to walk into anywhere as a party of 10 can be tricky to accommodate and when I phoned to book, the gentleman was most helpful. Upon arrival we walked in to be greeted by a woman who said immediately “those kids can’t come in here!” It was 6.15pm and I had been told on the phone that children could stay until 9pm, which was ample time for us to eat. This was pointed out and with some attitude the woman pointed down the bottom and said “you’ll have to go down there!” She then took as to a table of 6 - there were 10 of us…..to which she said “well that’s what we’ve got! And walked off” I have been left shocked and disappointed. This was the start of my 40th birthday celebrations with my family and whilst I understand this is a simple pub, the basics weren’t there! We didn’t even get a table we could all sit at. We spent the rest of the evening trying to find some where that would take a table of 10 last minute!

Super friendly staff, good prices. I recommend the 3 bites combo. Super tasty!!

The server was very friendly! Very disappointed with the steak and ale pie. I’m sure it was all microwaved. The mash had a huge hard skin on it, peas were shrivelled and the crust on the pie very tough.

The staff were very friendly, We went for the sharing platters which we both have to say was delicious. Definitely will recommend to others.

My husband and I arrived at the pub and greeted very warmly by one of the bar staff. We had booked a table in, what was, a very popular pub. Both ordered our food which arrived quite quickly. However, although looking good neither of us had really hot food….it was all only luke warm. We should have complained but didn’t knowing how busy they were.

We actually ate & drank there several times during our stay in London because they made us feel welcomed & part of the neighborhood, not like tourists. The atmosphere is classic English pub with its worn wooden floor, dark wood trim, bar brass, friendly bar staff & crowded conviviality. They remembered us & our favorite drinks on our return visits. The menu has lots of options but our favorite included clotted cream ice cream. Can you imagine it?!

i was a bit worried I wouldn't get to have the beef but when my friend had the chicken I was like wow maybe that should have been for me but the beef was succulent. the beer garden was nice

This was a brilliant find. Had a couple of hours to kill before our train and stumbled on this. Lovely picky lunch and a couple of drinks in the outdoor area.

During our stay in London we was feeling rather peckish and surprisingly thirsty, especially after the nightmare with hotels. But moving on we decided to go down the road and came Across The Lucas Arms. Such a friendly, spacious, warm welcoming pub. We have a lovely meal between us and supped many beverages. When we’re back in London we will definitely be back to visit.

Great little pub. We went in twice during a recent visit to London. We only had drinks no problem with these. All the staff we met were friendly and had a chat as it was quiet in the early afternoon. Lovely little outside area a sun trap and warm. Loved the brilliantly kept hanging baskets

I am staying in London for one night decided to go to The Lucas Arms due to good reviews. I wasn't disappointed friendly bar staff excellent fish and chips and very good pint Camden Lager reasonably priced for London.

Decent atmosphere with very decent food, service was abysmal. Took over an hour to get my starter and another half hour for my entree (after asking staff multiple times). Came out very mediocre, whilst staff was still rude. Do not recommend

The Lucas Arms offers the typical English pub ambience, making it a recommended place to enjoy a few drinks. The atmosphere is authentic and cozy, just as you would imagine. Unfortunately, I have to make compromises when it comes to the food. As a big fan of good English pub food, I was disappointed with the food. Both the fish and chips and the steak and ale pie were poorly seasoned and overall limp. It felt like the dishes weren't freshly prepared, but just served from a warming facility. What made the experience worse was the lack of service after the meal. Nobody came to clear the plates or ask if everything was OK. It was almost as if the otherwise friendly staff knew exactly why they didn't want to ask. Certainly a good choice for a few drinks, but unfortunately I was disappointed with the food.

Just off the train at King's Cross and happened upon this pub. Had a refreshing pint together with pie and chips. Served by a lovely and friendly lady. Food came quickly and was really tasty

Great location for us as we try to overcome 7hrs jet lag, following a 20 hour flight from Perth Australia. Loved the food and how they add the calories for everything. Ignored some, heeded others. 😂 Very friendly patron.

First time in London and our first stop was the Lucas Arms, great pub with a hot little beer garden out back. Quiet sunny afternoon, staff were lovely and attentive, food was amazing and came fast and the lady on the bar was chatty and friendly. Would highly recommend stopping in for a cheap pint for London prices!

What a lovely, warm, and welcoming atmosphere for a pub! The food was delicious. I would highly recommend this pub; the server, Aiden, was also a delight.

Good place to eat, the menu says multiple onion rings with the burger, I would have expected a bit more than 2. I waited 20 min to order, nobody came, so I had to come to the bar. The burger could have been a bit bigger for £15.

The staff were friendly and efficient and service was fast - both at the bar and the time from when we ordered to delivery to the table. This is really good pub food with reasonable sized portions. Everything that you would expect from a good pub luncheon.

Rude staff who refuse to serve desserts at 9:02 p.m. (even though we had ordered the dishes beforehand) under the pretext that the kitchens are closed. Portion of Mac&cheese mediocre and disappointing in terms of taste. Go your way

Great, cute British pub! The service was good, and the bathrooms were clean and accessible. I absolutely LOVED the bacon Mac & Cheese, but without the bacon, it was a bit bland. My husband got the Steak & Ale pie (which is typically something he would like) and thought it tasted exactly like fancy canned dog food.

Popped into this pub for lunch, great friendly service. Food was typical pub food, very tasty and good portions. Liked it so much that we returned that evening for a reserved table to watch the football game. Good atmosphere, and great service again.

I used to love eating here when I visited London. This evening, 10 July, the barman in the black t-shirt, when he did finally work up the energy to serve me (I was the only customer at the bar) was rude and arrogant. He then took a phone call when I was trying to discuss seating options with him. Walked out and will not return.

Phenomenal service! I had a booking for Saturday for 4 people for the England Match but on the Friday me and my husband thought we would check it out. Every single member of staff were so hard working and friendly. On both nights, despite the pub being rammed, we never waited more than a minute at the bar. On the Saturday my table was reserved and we all ordered food. Every dish (we went for the small plates) was delicious. I have had similar at other Greene Kings and they did them well. 100% recommend this pub. Wish I was in London for the Semi Final to return!

Found this place close to Kings Cross. Wanted to eat B4 getting the train back home, we both chose burger n chips, and wasn't disappointed. Explained to the staff we needed to catch a train at 7, so they sorted the service 👍 Well done guys... cheers 🍻

my first time having a sunday roast in a pub and absolutely blown away by how good everything was. both the sirloin and chicken were amazing and the portions were massive, i was completely bursting afterward. lovely service too, servers willing to help me out from a pinch and super patient. def recommend!

Absolute little gem of a place, we were made to feel so welcome by Angela and her team it was like visiting your local back home with lots of outdoor seating as well as inside We were staying down the road and popped in for a quick drink on our first night, we liked the vibe so decided to pop in the next day for early dinner, then the day after for late lunch. We did visit other places honestly but this place was perfect for us, very reasonably priced proper pub grub. We highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding. If we are back in London, we will be back in The Lucas Arms.

We arrived around 4pm so the pub was a little quieter, which we appreciated at the time. Staff were helpful and friendly. We had no issues placing an order for drinks and food. I had the macaroni and cheese with a garden salad, delicious. My dad had the steak sandwich which he said was good. My sister had a cheese toastie, also good. Overall, nice environment and very good value.

I visited this pub three times while in London, one for fish and chips with cider, one for beers, and once for an English Breakfast. It was wonderful every time. The staff was absolutely lovely.

My sister and I have had our best first pub experience in this pub. The staff are all super friendly and welcoming, and the environment is super calm and beautiful. The food was absolutely delicious, so much so we came back again the next day. First, I had the BBQ chicken and it was such a unique taste compared to what I’ve had before (im Canadian) but it was so perfectly done. My sister had the fish and chips and she said she loved it. We came back again and both had the Katsu Chicken Burger and it was a 10/10 from both of us. The flavour again was like nothing I’ve ever had and it hit all the right places on my tongue. A truly amazing balance of flavour, the fries with it were also cooked to the best crunchy and soft texture. The last thing we tried was the sticky toffee pudding with custard and it was delicious! Definitely very sweet, but the toffee flavour with the warm custard left my mouth watering. Would definitely come here again if I'm ever back!

Not much to says; the pie was decent, the onion rings were forgettable (premade frozen), but all together it’s not a bad place. However, there are better options in the area.
