When visiting Lyme Regis we were determined to have a local crab sandwich and this little shop was the perfect choice. The service was very efficient, the 2 ladies in the shop were very friendly and welcoming and, most importantly, the crab sandwich was superb with a good level of crab filling, leaves, lemon mayo and soft malted grain bread. Based on my experience I would highly recommend this shop.

I was impressed with this sandwich shop, tucked away behind the main beach front. What struck me was how well organised it was. There were clipboards with menus outside, which made it easy to choose, before going in to order, which would definitely help if there was a queue. Inside there were also a range of other delights - home made cakes and cold drinks. The staff were friendly and the sandwiches (crayfish and coronation chicken) were delicious with a generous amount of filling. There were rugs on the wall outside to sit on while they were prepared. Finally I was also impressed that all the wrappings etc were fully recyclable - no plastic in sight! Will most certainly return!

I visited this sandwich shop nearly 10 yrs ago and has stuck in my mind ever since. I was disappointed when I returned to Lime in 2021 that it was closed due to Covid. It was high on my list of places to go on our return this year. Happy to see it still going. It was super busy on our visit but they had a great order system and was served quickly. We tried both crab and crayfish sandwiches. Top ingredients and well made. Hopefully will not be so long before I can enjoy again.

Below average food. Slow service. The sandwiches (including a mozzarella and tomato, and a brie and bacon) were cold with no option or prompt to warm them up. The white bread was low quality. But it all filled a hole and we finished the same. The actual service was slow- it took 15 mins to make the cold sandwiches. The lady serving was friendly but ineffectual, leaving the sandwich preparation to two teenagers who failed to cut the sandwiches in half Given the price paid, the slow service and the below average food we won’t be returning.

We are regulars at this sandwich bar, Hire a beach hut every year and get lunch here. It isn't unusual to pay £8-£12 for a crab sandwich in Lyme, here you get a baguette with a generous filling, option of salad leaves, lemon mayo and or lemon juice for under £6, less if you choose sliced bread. Other fillings are imaginative and good value too, husband loves the beef and blue vinney combo. Good value kids picnic boxes too and a saladbox option (with any filling you choose) for those watching the calories or cutting out carbs. All sandwiches are made to order so you do sometimes have to wait for a bit but that's because they do it really well and people return. I've just read some of the bad reviews and don't recognise it at all, it's true they're not particularly chatty but they are really busy and if they engaged in conversation with every customer it would take even longer. They've certainly never been rude and frankly, even if they were, the sandwiches are so good, I'd put up with it.

There seem to be a lot of gullible people reviewing this place. We were sucked in by the promise of locally sourced fresh crab etc. Sadly what you get is far from what you would imagine. A crab sandwich for £4.80 was one slice of bread spread thinly with mushy crab. It could have been from Tescos. And I do mean THINLY spread, and very ordinary. I tried the crayfish salad box which contained about two measley table spoons of tasteless crayfish, again could have come from anywhere, and a large amount of plain salad which filled up the rest of the space. All for £5.80! Sheer extortion. We love our seafood and this was tasteless, expensive and with measley portions. Like a lot of places in popular seaside resorts they can rely on a fast turnover of people who are unlikely to complain. People pay their dosh and think it's great. Well not us, and we wouldn't bother ever again.

We saw this place on day one of our holiday and decided it was ideal for a picnic lunch the next day. We did arrive at peak time so queued out on the street for quite a while. But it was warm and sunny so not a major problem. Some people may not want to wait - guess that's personal choice. The system is simple - three staff, they take and make the order. This means they don't take loads of orders then try to keep up with them. We had a crab baguette and a crayfish salad. Both were packed with salad. The salad box itself was full to bursting, with peppers, tomato, cucumber, mixed leaves plus coleslaw and a dressing provided separately. Plenty of fish in both. We also had two cakes - a yogurt topped flapjack was amazing, and the bakewell was good too. Not the cheapest but given the fresh ingredients and quantity, I thought very reasonable for what we got.

This one is tucked away at the harbour end of the causeway and apart from a sign outside stating "Sandwich Shop" you could easily miss it. Bread wasn't stale but wasn't fresh... and the fillings were quite measly. Usually I don't mind paying extra for quality but as £8 for 2 rather small bland baguettes is quite bad. Staying in Lyme Regis, we called here for sandwiches to take back to the apartment. My crayfish baguette was tasty but the bread was over cooked. The Brie and grape sandwiches came as Brie and tomato and the tuna sandwich on white bread appeared to have been made using Sunblest or some similar cheap white sliced. Had expected more and if we hadn't have had to walk back again when hungry we would have taken it back.

Waited for ages in the queue to be served. I asked the man serving whether the Mayonnaise had milk in it as my son has a dairy allergy. He was really unhelpful, said he had no idea and plonked the tub of mayonnaise in front of me and said I could look myself. No service with a smile and felt as if we were being difficult for asking. The sandwiches were delicious but I am not sure if I would return.

Delicious sandwiches and pasties, but the queues are really long in the summer holidays. Always seem to sell out of pasties far too early

Busy at lunchtime but plenty of staff. A great choice of sarnies. A huge choice with bread, baguettes and salad boxes.Behind the sea front but no far to walk to seats on the front.

On a day visit to Lyme Regis I came across this small sandwich bar. Being a germaphobe I looked for the food hygiene rating sticker before perusing the menu. I saw the sticker displayed on the door, they have been awarded a pleasing 5 out of 5. Feeling reasured (after all no one likes flies vomiting on food or chefs scratching their personal bits) I proceeded to check out the menu. There are lots of sandwich filling varieties even for fussy awkward people. Unfortunately I queued for a sandwich for 25 minutes, most of it was stood on the steps outside leading up to the door of the shop. It was a very cold day despite it being late July. It was pretty painful being exposed to the elements for a lengthy time. I think the owners need to consider handing out extremity proof clothing!!When I finally reached the counter I placed an order for a crab sandwich on brown bread. I was disappointed to see that the bread is from a pre packed loaf of bread rather than freshly baked bread from a bakery. Overall the sandwich was fine but at the same time it wasn't amazing and definitely not worth the 25 minute wait. There were 3 members of staff serving in the shop. The man and young girl were friendly, the older lady appeared stressed and snappy. I couldn't help noticing that all the staff seemed to move around in slow motion which only adds to the frustration of waiting so long. I observed the making of lattes, cappuccinos etc. Making coffees is a very time consuming task, granted not the fault of the staff but rather the process that it takes, however perhaps having an extra member of staff to operate just the hot drinks would speed things up and free up the other staff. It always amazes me when I visit somewhere during peak season/busy periods and business proprietors aren't geared up for the queues. I don't mind queing but I think waiting 25 minutes for a sandwich (no cooking involved here) is unacceptable. I notice that most of the reviews for this place comment about the queues. I guess the owner relies on fools like me that stay in the queue. I appreciate that the sandwich bar is small and not enough room for hoards of staff but get better organised, get better systems in place, stop slow waltzing around and pick up some speed. No one should have to queue a ridiculous amount of time to give any business their money. Customers should be valued more. I certainly won't be a victim of this place again. There are plenty of other food outlets to choose from. I wont be back when I vist Lyme Regis again. You've lost yourself a customer, you are the weakest link, goodbye!

We both had Salad Boxes which were freshly made and delicious and good value. Everything is made to order so there can be a wait at busy times, but well worth the wait.

The landlord today served me the most delicious coffee. The best coffee I have had this year. The pub was fantastic. Lovely decor and spotlessly clean. I look forward to visiting again soon.

A small hidden Cafe hidden down a side alleyway, delivers a big smile through it's food and warm welcoming hosts. They make delicious salads, homemade crustless quiche, large saucer style macaroons, homemade sausage rolls and vege rolls. It's the only place in Dorchester that i feel the food is good for you, cooked on the spot there that day, great coffee and choice of tea's etc. Seating is limited and very sadly due to it's size of premises maybe closed due to Covid, please double check. They have worked so hard and deserve all our support

Sunday lunch was not very good. Waiter ate food and drank at the bar constantly. Emptied bins and didn't wash his hands. Chef sat at the bar in between orders. Food arrived and was tasteless, meat tough and when asked for cranberry sauce the waiter arrived with a plastic tub to serve it!
