Nice place but remember always order online or at the bar. We didn't and that was a mistake.

You get what you pay for . Food was ok but not exceptional

Absolutely love this pub. One of the better ones in the area, and for the price you can't beat it. One of the bar members who particularly stands out here is a young man called Patrick, always professional when delivering food and drinks, and always willing to go the extra mile to help you out (whether that's helping you find a table, choosing food or a drink, or helping you with general queries! Thanks all!

Man in the Moon is a great spot for an affordable meal and drinks in the heart of Newport, Isle of Wight. The staff were friendly and efficient, even during busy times. My order was served promptly, and the food was hot and well-prepared. I particularly enjoyed their classic fish and chips—crispy and flavorful, with generous portions. The range of beers and ales on tap is impressive, and there’s always something new to try. It’s also worth noting how conveniently located it is, making it an ideal spot for a quick meal or drink after exploring Newport. Overall, Man in the Moon offers excellent value for money, good food, and a pleasant atmosphere. A solid choice if you’re on the Isle of Wight!

I can over to the isle of woght for a mini weekend break with my daughter . We popped into the man in the moon for dinner as we live the food in spoons and they always cater for everyone. We were severed by a lovely lady called mia. She was really helpful and made sure she recorded our meals correctly and read it back ( which alot don't do). I was super impressed with the level of customer service she gave us. Definitely service with a smile. Can't wait to come back and hopefully see her again.

Very good as always and fair play the prices are being held -of drink with an unnoticeable increase in meal costs.Well done J.D.W.

Worst service I have evey come across got the drink wrong 3 times plus I had to go up and get it... as it took so long to arrive at table! And had already eaten 70% of my meal absolutely ridiculous would not recommend ever !!!!!

Always go here when out in Newport. Has a great atmosphere at the weekend. Can get busy around 5pm in evenings. Its spoons so cheap food and drink compared to other pubs in the area.

Well definitely one of the more spectacular spoons making excellent use of a derelict church. High ceilings with lots of windows lets in all the natural light over two levels provide a fantastic atmosphere for a few quiet ones. Ample outdoor seating as you approach the main entrance and it even has its own suit of armour. The Guinness was excellent

Set in a church really different and great , Totally different to normal pubs , great experience.

What a lovely pub. Staff very helpful and food very good 💯. Toilets were spotless. Well done to the staff. I hope this gets back to TIM.

Good value food in a converted church

Didn't actually get in. Paying £4.70 for street Parking really put us off.

A lovely building in a good location. We went on Curry Club night. All reasonable but Curry Sauce was thin/runny. Not enough staff and it was untidy and several unclean tables. Staff were clearing but not cleaning tables. Most mango chutney containers almost empty.

After being booted off my table by rude men from london who cant use common sense, and leave a jacket to 'reserve' their table. the team helped to move my order which was made via the app where as he had paid cash at the bar. Patrick was really helpful with my order aswell as another table who had a small issue regards to the app, thanks! 5* Food is always whats expected too

Absolutely out of order! I’m not the one to write a review, but this made me feel like I had to. Went to meet a friend for a drink which only found out that my friend been refused service by a manager after she had 1 drink earlier on today. The reason being: I THINK YOU HAD ENOUGH! My friend been working her ass off all week and all she though she’ll treat herself to nice afternoon and couple drinks but only to be found that RUDE manager refused her of having another drink because he thought she was drunk! Because she was refused the service for extremely wrong reason we left for elsewhere immediately. Quite shocking behaviour from manager!

We dined here a few times while we had a weekend break. We had breakfasts and main meals. Always fresh hot and tasty. Staff helpful but not over friendly. Prices very reasonable. Tables could be cleared a little bit quicker but other than that great place.

Steak and Kidney pie, five pieces of meat inside, four inedible due to grizzle. I did mention it to the waiter today.

For a spoons it's quality.only church in uk that has been converted apparently.had so.e fun times there.

Very spacious and interesting pub! Lots of people were queuing at the bar, but it's quicker to find a table and order with the Wetherspoon app. I didn't eat here so I can't comment, but I'm sure it would've been the same good quality that you get at any Spoons.

Ran out of a lot of food so choice restricted on a Saturday evening

On a 3 day trip to IOW. Used it every day. Interesting building.old church.

I had fish and chips and didn't disappoint. Good size and value. My son had a burger and chips however which was good but small portion and no garnish which would have made the presentation better..I appreciate they are keeping prices low so need to made changes somewhere with rising prices everywhere else. Always good for children and 3 grandaughters all enjoyed their meals.

Different Wetherspoons pub set in an old deconsercrated church in the centre of Newport. Standard wetherspoons fare of food and drink, always good value. Stopped off for breakfast. Plenty of seating including first floor where you get a good view of the church's interior. Friendly service. Parking a litte difficult in the immediate vicinity. Garden area. Well worth a visit.

Another example where Wetherspoons have converted an historic building into a very nice pub. In this case, a former Chapel. Very tastefully done and good use made of the layout. A great atmosphere and very good service. And of course the very good value for money food and drinks!

Went for lunch with my Daughter Grandson & Great Granddaughter. Had to order at the bar as the app would'nt work properly. Bar staff were nice & friendly. The food came out very fast. Everyones meals were great except mine. I had a mixed grill all of the meat was tough and tasteless except for the sausage so i would not recommend the Mixed Grill

As usual with Spoons, the building was the attraction, being the only distinction between one Spoons and another. Great building.

Food was what you would expect from Weatherspoons. Seemed very noisy.

Had men keep going in and out of the ladies toilets constantly so didn’t feel like you could go toilet incase another man walks in. One of the men were clearly drunk when walking in the ladies toilets. One of them were not drunk when he decided to walk in to go find his mate who had walked into the ladies toilet.

Went in here to get one large breakfast and a traditional and it was horrendous the eggs were stone cold and as hard as the plate, bacon was basically charcoal and the other eggs were very raw I think the chefs need to get more training as that is not how you serve food at all as well as serving stone cold food isn’t ok

Good food quick service and friendly staff. There weren't many clear and clean tables but this may be because of how busy it was at the time.

I do love a free refill. Plenty of seating with extra upstairs. Staff today were efficient and friendly. Food was quick, hot and tasty.

Generally very good in the day or early evening. Good food at a reasonable price. Not a bad service. In the evening, it starts to get a little lively for dinner conversation.

The place is beautiful. However, because it's a Spoon's nearly all food tastes like microwaved. Pizza might be an exception and became our go-to. At least it's cheap though. I get that the place is super busy, but every time I seem to sit at a table that is sticky, or covered with condiments.

I drink shipyard in all wetherspoons but it wasn't to it's usual standard in the man on the moon.

Order some food here it arrived pretty quick which surprised me but when I started eating I knew why it was stone cold tasteless and very bland took it back to the bar and the guy looked at me like something he’d stood on and said maybe it’s meant to be like that lovely customer service

Usually love a Spoons breakfast but this time seemed lacking and half of my toast was burnt, should never have been served like this

Location is great; menu options are quite varied; some of the booth seats are pretty, velvety and comfortable…but so many of the tables around us were dirty and unwelcoming…why did nobody come over, clear up and clean them??? I had to sit and look at that while having my dinner??? As a side note - the baby changing is on the same level as the entrance!

I don’t know how this place manages to be so slow at serving you. It’s the slowest place around and has been for years. Got fed up of waiting, after trying to catch the eye of any bored looking member of staff - and left. Will anyone ever sort it out? Absolutely useless.

This is a beautiful church ⛪️ converted by wetherspoons and very tastefully done. Lots of character. Two nice beer gardens. One smoking and one non smoking. Good idea I thought. Usual crew of all day drinkers but big enough to avoid them so don't be put off. Service very quick. Staff friendly.

The reality of 2024 life, do not have any fun, the epitome of how life is nowadays such a sad existence honestly go any where else because the staff are happy to play along and have fun but reality is they want a nunnery as soon as you break a smile it's ti.e to go hence why the staff are there till the end

Typical Wetherspoons, good food and drinks at sensible prices. Attentive efficient staff. Lovely surroundings- a converted Church… Would recommend.

Service was slow and people were pushing in at the bar. Lovely building and ok for a drink or 2. I wouldn't take young children here as it seemed like a drinkers pub.

Typical weatherspoons. Good food for the price. Quick service for food and drink. Also one of the nicer looking on the inside. Cool to booze in an old church.

After 45min, the chef came to say he didn't have what we had ordered. We switch, but we disappointed with what arrived. We've had much better experiences.

Other than the ale (good but fairly expensive for a Spoons), why bother? Friendly enough but so much more on offer around the island.

Fantastic spoons. This wetherspoons has been clevery converted from a church and the atmosphere is absolutely astounding. Plus, drinking in the house of the lord feels rebellious and satisfying. Thank god!

What an incredible place to have breakfast. Only spoilt by the oblivious parents whose children were running round us screeching. They eventually noticed and apologised. Met them again in a shop half an hour later.

Probably blasphemous to convert a church into a wetherspoons. A really beautiful building, very fast service (on a non-busy Sunday afternoon at least) and a good amount of space.

Nice location, but the food is rather average, although it is said that everything is good, sustainable and cooked with love. The service seems to be unmotivated. Small portions and what makes it worse was the extra coleslaw. It was the size of an espresso cup and a thimble! As an extra inclosure, that's an imposition! No tip for that.

No toilets in use, no good when you are pregnant and being sick.. Card service only which is no good when you have cash.

Popped in for a drink & possibly meal pub not busy but met with dirty tables,plates & glasses. Selection of real ales average bar staff trying to recommend a strong beer (guess a non seller). Decided to eat elsewhere after 1 drink. Atmosphere is very dark appreciate it’s an old church but not a good ambiance could improve with a few improvements hopefully Area manager visits regularly to ensure the Weatherspoons core principle’s are adhered to
