Had a fabulous meal at the Manor House Quorn yesterday evening. Part of a Christmas party. Service was excellent. And the food brilliant. I had the pate starter. Great pate and bread and the salad dressage mouthwatering. My main course sirloin steak. Best steak in years. The chips and onion rings were fab too. Sadly I was too full to eat them all. And the crème brûlée. Brilliant.

After deciding not to try and fight for a car parking space near by we decided to go the Manor House. We haven’t been here for years and years for anything to eat. I nipped in 4/5 weeks before after playing football to see the amazing ales and lagers on display and this kind of pulled us towards trying the food. Granted it was Saturday lunch and very busy with families for Xmas fayre, the front of house did however accommodate us relatively quickly. We had the starter sharing platter which was nice. I had the fish and chips…. Wow!! I need to be careful here when I say and I have had time to think this one… the best chips I’ve had for a long long while! This fish was lovely soft and flakey. The wife had venison stew which again she said was really tasty. A couple of pints of Bass and a couple of glasses of Malbec were spot on. We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful meal last night at The Manor for our Speakers Club Christmas meal. There were 24 of us and we all got served promptly, with very friendly, efficient service from the staff. The food was lovely and to a high standard and those that had the steak said they were cooked perfectly to their requirements. Well done to the chef! Thanks also to all the staff, who were always, professional, friendly and patient each time I called to amend numbers and give menu requirements. I definitely recommend The Manor and will most certainly be returning.

We were looking for "fine dining" and at "The Manor House" in Quorn that is what we found. Pleasant spotless surroundings, friendly and efficient staff and best of all a chef that was capable of producing food that lived up to the promise of the description in the menu. Thank you Maria. Just lately we have found it more and more difficult to be able to say that about other restaurants we have visited. So often they retitle themselves as "gastropubs" and use flowery description of their dishes on the menu to entice you to visit, for their kitchens to seem unable to quite make that special dish. At the "Manor House" my husband tried Maria's own recipe for roasted duck breast with autumn vegetables and could not believe the flavour in the simple sounding beetroot puree and port sauce. The duck breast was cooked to perfection and the sauce perfectly complemented the meat. For my starter I had the simple sounding Tomato and Basil soup, which I make myself at home and was intrigued by that little extra something she adds to the soup to give more flavour. Finally, so many Gastropubs nowadays have a choice of sickly sweets for dessert ignoring those amongst us that would prefer a cheeseboard to finish a meal. We ordered the cheeseboard and were served with 4 different types of cheeses, a plentiful supply of biscuits, chutney, celery and grapes. Thank you "Manor House" , we will be back.

My daughter and I stayed over for one night as we attended our friends wedding. My son was best man and had an upstairs room. The weddings atmosphere was great and so was the venue. Our room Charlie's Den has been changed to a larger one to Scullery. Location was in the courtyard close to the venue. The room was lovely and spacious with a large bathroom and walk in shower. I noticed a lot of dents on the walls and the ceiling. The room was advertised with Netflix but we struggled to sign in, the remote control wouldn't let us reason unknown. The worst thing was the bed. The frame was squeaking when you just sat down and the mattress was very uncomfortable unlike an Premier Inn room. Our backs were hurting for many days 😪. This is not what I expected from a luxurious room as a restful sleep is the most important thing. We did enjoy seeing the steam train going past the venue until late.

Thanks so much for an excellent stay, Sunday 6th Oct. My elderly mother and I went to the steam railway in the daytime and retired to the hotel at night after an absolutely delicious Sunday dinner in the gastro-pub and restaurant. All the time we were well attended to and made to feel really welcome by all staff. The wonderful manageress/owner is outstanding and worthy of a special thank-you. The rooms are spectacular with particularly comfy mattresses that I would expect in high-end hotels in big cities such as London. Free parking for residents. Please go on the double track railway opposite, you will LOVE it.

The manor house serves a very tasty and well cooked evening meal with a good variety of food. Needless to say the breakfast was equally satisfying. The wedding venue is all on one level and accommodates circa 150 people across the day in a really well thought through operating space. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a carefree wedding. To boot, you get the regular steam train chugging past to add to the ambience of the day. Again, Superb!

Came for the first time today with the family and had a great meal. The establishment was really busy at the time and we had to wait for our table to be ready. While we waited we were asked to go to the bar until our table was ready. The bar staff were very professional. Once seated the restaurant staff seemed very stretched. The food however was lovely albeit we had to wait considerably longer for 2 meals to arrive. I was a little shocked as to how a bottle of wine is served as a waitress placed an unopened bottle of red wine in the middle of the table without saying a word. After several minutes it was clear we had to open the bottle and serve ourselves.

Large well presented pub. 4 real ales on, bass bitter (rare treat nowadays) and some goldens/pales. Well served but tad pricey at around 4.50 a pint (I'm not familiar with the parish pubs round here, maybe that's normal, but you can get cheaper in nearby villages) food was cooked well but for the high price point (17-22 a main) the serving sizes were small. Meals also a bit lacking, I had lamb (which had no sauce) and came with 2 or 3 small potatoes in a bed of lambs lettuce and cucumber spirals (?) I found I was hungry afterwards. Pub would benefit from rebalancing their portions

We had a superb meal here last night, the food was amazing and we were looked after very well following a disappointing meal we had had recently. On hearing that things weren't quite up to expectations, the Manor contacted us and were very concerned that we weren't happy. They invited us back and really went out of their way to make sure that we were looked after and to meet our expectations - and they certainly did that! We always love coming here for a nice meal and will certainly continue to do so, knowing that they value their customers & if somethings not quite right, they will go out of their way to put it right! Looking forward to eating at the Manor again soon 😊

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at The Pavilion at the Manor House. Start to finish Sian and Alice (coordinators), their team and the venue were amazing; we could not recommend them enough! Sian and Alice were a huge help leading up to the big day; offering guidance, suggestions, answering our many questions and dealing with last minute changes. On the day, Sian literally thought of everything (better than we ever could!), there wasn't a detail which she hadn't considered. Needless to say, the day was beautiful and ran smoothly allowing us to really relax and savour every moment. A lot of our guests stayed in the rooms which Sian helped us organize; the rooms were beautiful (commented on by many) and the courtyard was perfect for friends and family to relax and meet the evening before. The bridal suite was exceptional with lots of entertaining space meaning that it was a very relaxed and fun morning getting ready with everyone. The food and service was incredible and enjoyed by all. The venue itself is so versatile with a the light and airy ceremony room, ample outdoor space for garden games, photos and drinks in the sun, the relaxed bar seating area and the amazing reception room decked in fairy lights is perfect for dancing the night away. The venue was absolutely perfect for our wedding and offers so much; could not recommend enough!

Just had a great meal at The Manor House. The only downside was we arrived early (15 minutes) and were told table would be ready for 2pm. Had drinks at the bar, others were arriving and being seated. We had been forgotten about!!! Almost 20 minutes after our booking were we seated. The Manager (we assume) did apologise, however if my other half hadn't gone to ask what was happening, not sure when we would have been seated. Fair enough it was busy, wedding in a separate area, but I felt as though we were invisible!!! The staff who served us were very good. I would go back, but wouldn't be prepared to wait any time after what we had booked.

Went for Sunday lunch with a couple of friends and they were very impressed - the portions were so big even they couldn’t manage a pudding afterwards. My husband and I had the fillet steak and it was cooked to perfection - the best steak we have had in a restaurant. Also went for lunch the day before we came home to Devon and the Chicken Supreme was delicious - made all the better because the chef did a special sauce for my husband who has a severe garlic allergy. On both occasions we were met by very friendly and helpful staff which makes the experience even better, We are originally from the area and moved to Devon in 2006 but although there are good restaurants down here the quality of the food and the ambience even made me think of moving back ‘up north’. We had an absolutely amazing wedding at the Manor House in Quorn! I had a list of requirements for the venue and it was perfect for all of them! We wanted the whole day all in one place so the ceremony and reception together. We also wanted lots of space inside (incase it was cold) and outside (incase it was hot). We also wanted food that was more us so we choose the BBQ which was delicious! We also wanted local beer and a few ciders that I preferred and the venue was great at organising that for us. We also wanted a live band and there was plenty of space for them. This venue met all these requirements. They went above and beyond expectations in lots of ways! The staff were so lovely, friendly and polite, they provided outdoor games and they were so prompt with replying to my emails! Dionne and Sian were brilliant on the day and even helped the bridesmaids do a little surprise for me without me knowing anything. They did a great job of making sure the groom didn't see me too early. They also let me add all my decorations and let me hang 1000 cranes from the ceiling. The team at the pub were also lovely and friendly and we had a few meals there that were delicious too! We stayed over in the hotel rooms the night before and on the wedding and the rooms were stunning, spotless and perfect for getting ready on the wedding morning. We also needed a downstairs room for my granny with mobility issues which was perfect and they provided kids beds too for family. My wedding day was perfect thanks to the team and the amazing venue!

We've been going here for the last 6 years since moving to the area. We regularly pop in during our Sundays walks and have lunch in the summer months outside. The pub and location are lovely. Today was uncomfortable ,unwelcoming, and the team was clearly upset. We go there because we like the look, the location, and it's on our walk and bike route. We've never had a problem before today. Thinking back the service has never been outstanding or superior, but it's always been fine. Today, there was a female who I've never had the good fortune of never encountering before. She was very snooty and made us feel like we shouldn't be there. Her aura was of authority as she picked at and got onto the staff. Not one member of staff was smiling, and two clearly were on the verge of tears after she spoke to them. Even a floor supervisor looked ( I assume as in own attire) upset by her. I do not blame the staff for looking miserable, I left miserable too. So sad, for such a lovely establishment to be ruined by one bad manager attitude.

Had a meal here with the family, I decided on the tree roast option which included beef roast pork and chicken breast, the meat was excellent really tender and the pork shredded as I began to cut into it all in all very happy with the quality of the meal only downside for me was it could have done with a little bit more of the very tasty gravy highly recommended and looking forward to going back in the not to distant future

I was delivering an evening event in the Pavilion space at The Manor, and the staff were incredibly kind at facilitating my requests to arrive early and work on something else virtually. The place was lovely anyway, and very clean, with a mix of regulars and people there for a nice "treat lunch". Jo, Jesus, Olivia and Maddy were all amazing and treated me so nicely I almost wanted to stay and keep enjoying the vibe. I was there delivering entertainment for a wonderful corporate client, and frequently my team and I are treated rather poorly, but not here: honestly some of the nicest people you could meet. Goes to show what happens when you recruit well and (hopefully) pay properly. Thanks to all there.

This very lovely pub is half way meeting point for my ex work friend and i Lunching here for several years it never disappoints. Friendly initial greeting and shown to our table. Menu has something for everyone, my favourite is the battered king prawns which i had this time, and as it was my birthday, i indulged myself and had a sweet, totally fabulous, capaccino choc mouse which to my total surprise came in a cup. My friend had flat bread with a delicious topping and sticky toffee pudding Great food and great catch with thanks to everyone, always a winner

We have been to this place many times over the years and have usually received great service. Very disappointed today when we arrived on our bikes and ordered some hot drinks to have outside in the sunshine. As you can see from the picture my husband’s coffee had been slopped all over the saucer. There was no offer of a replacement. We were not only unhappy with the service, but the ‘large’ coffee ordered came in a very small cup. I dread to think how small the coffee would have been if I’d not ordered a large (see size of teaspoon for scale). I don’t think we’ll be rushing back if the service has gone downhill here.

This is the 3rd time we've gone here for a family celebration. We can't fault it. Service was exceptional, so welcoming, friendly and willing to help. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented and a fabulous menu. They dealt well with food for a coeliac and dairy intolerance. Thank you to your staff and chef for making our day💖

Absolutely delicious baked salmon (from specials menu) I mean REALLY GOOD! Took me by surprise and managed to distract me from how noisy it is. Such a busy place but there’s definitely a good cook in the kitchen!

Not been for a while as we're not really local so decided to go for Saturday lunch and wow what a treat and so worth the journey. Food is top quality (and I'm a fussy eater) service impeccable and surroundings awesome. Can't wait to revisit.

Didn’t realise it was steak night! So wider menu available but 2 sirloins, 2 sauces and a bottle of house wine for £50. Really good value. Steak was really good, chips and onion rings were sublime. Highly recommended. Book in advance as it’s (rightly) popular

Been a few times for breakfast and not impressed. Sticky tables, cold food and poor quality coffee. The sausages are anaemic and need cooking all over, not just on 2 sides a little bit, they should be brown when cooked. The young staff do not want to be there and no heating as always cold.

Worst breakfast I've ever had, the fact that they served this to me is embarrassing. Mould all over the windows doesn't help. 4.4 stars hahahahaahhahahhaha. It's a 1

Very disappointing. I ordered the Lounge Breakfast. Waited quite a while for it. The fried egg looked dry and congealed. The mushrooms were stone cold and the sausage was luke warm. I complained to the waitress who was apologetic and asked if I would like another one. I said I would. I expected to get a fresh meal but the same meal was brought back very quickly so hot I had to wait for it to cool down! It had clearly been put in a microwave. The fried egg yolk was totally dried out and I could pick it up on the fork and it flopped around like a joke egg you would buy from a joke shop! When the waitress came to clear away I showed her the egg and told her I was not happy. She agreed with me and I asked her to show it to the chef and advise him that you do not reheat eggs that are already dried out. She confirmed she would tell the chef and apologised. This is the second bad meal I have had here. The last one was a flat bread which was too hard to eat. I would not recommend this place to anyone and I definitely wont go back there.
