Easily the best fish I've ever had anywhere, and we even had the opportunity to choose between cod and haddock. The service was excellent and the staff were super friendly All in all an incredibly good experience and I would absolutely go back another time! I do recommend booking a table, as the restaurant was 99% full even on a Tuesday

Very good fish & chips, it comes with sauces which are just as good! On the other hand, the place is small and the dishes are expensive. The advantage is that the portions are generous (I left a few fries), so no need for dessert.

Good Fish and Chips, compared to the rest of London it was cheap. The portion was very large (we ate for two people) and came with a variety of sauces.

The restaurant had a wonderful atmosphere, and our waiter Yahya was attentive, friendly, and made our meal truly enjoyable. Keep in mind that the portions are huge.

We were waiting for around 30 mins but definitly worth the wait. Food was amazing crispy and moist inside and the chips too good. Place was clean and service was fast what you should expect from a Chippy. Top.

It was crispy and delicious! I entered the store as soon as it opened and was able to get in easily. If you want to go during busy lunch or dinner times, you can easily make reservations on the website, so reservations are essential. Since I came to England, I wanted to eat fish and chips, but I didn't want to make a mistake in choosing a restaurant, so I did a lot of research before coming to this restaurant. The result was a huge success! However, all three of the sauces that came with it were bland, and it was definitely better to eat it with salt than with the sauce lol.

If you’re a fan of seafood, put this on your list. The quality of the fish and chips and the lobster roll was fantastic and the service was really friendly. It’s small inside the Mayfair location but that actually adds to the experience. Highly recommend.

Excellent dinner with the family. We booked by phone after reading the good reviews. We were welcomed by the manager Ambra, very good, very kind and professional. We ordered the "classic". "Fish & Chips" which turned out to be truly delicious, of high quality and very abundant, served with three different sauces. Good choice of beers and many other dishes. The venue can be quickly reached from Oxford Street. Promoted!!!! I recommend it!

The best fish and chips in the town

We got the fish and chips with shepherd pie, which was tasty. When we walked up, there was a line of about 20 people we opted to take away, and we ate it at a nearby park in about 20 minutes from the time we ordered.

We visited after Christmas and experienced a 15-minute wait for an outdoor table, which was acceptable despite the cold weather. Isak promptly took our order, providing excellent and friendly service. The overall atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, contributing to a highly enjoyable experience. The food met expectations; my fish was exceptional, the best I have ever had. The chips were satisfactory, although the oiliness from the fish affected them somewhat. The value and service made this a truly memorable evening. Thank you again, Isak, for the conversation and your outstanding 5-star service.

If you are willing to be patient, you will be rewarded. As a guarantee of quality, a queue sits in front of the store. The fish and chips are excellent and plentiful. The little sauces that accompany it too. I recommend!!

Dined here with family for late lunch. We ordered the cod fish and chips, chicken coronation, and the shepherd's pie. Everything was absolutely delicious! The fish was not overcooked and was very tasty. The shepherd's pie looked beautiful on the outside. The lamb inside the shepherd's pie was very soft and tender: not that easy to come by when dining at restaurants. The chicken coronation was excellent, especially with the fantastic chutney that came with the dish. The staff were very helpful and kind in terms of assisting us with the ordering process. In terms of the bill, it was a little over £70 for the three of us, which in my opinion isn't too expensive considering that we are in one of London's most expensive boroughs. Along with the bill was a small bag of sweets. I found this to be a nice touch as it was both unique and created this atmosphere of gratitude. Overall, the restaurant was fantastic in terms of food, service, and atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant when I am in the area.

Always long queue if you have not booked a table. I spent 80 mins waiting outside and finally got a seat. The tartar sauce is very good. Since there is high turnover, the fish is fresh.

Not worth it. Chips are not cooked. Fish is good but not exceptional. Tourist trap. Expensive for what it is. Plus they charge 5£ for one coca-cola, absurd. Over 50£ total for two people just for fish and chips with ordinary setting and service. Disappointed

We entered the place after waiting 25 minutes at the door. The fish & chips are average, the frontier beer is nice. The prices are poor in terms of price performance and are not suitable for such a restaurant. The friend we went with said that when he went to the bathroom, it wasn't clean and he saw the kitchen area, and if he had seen it before, he wouldn't have been able to eat there...

As a family of 5, this was our first time there. A main portion of fish and chips is around £23+ but it comes with mushy peas and choice of gravy. You could also order fried fish on its own. Though slightly oily, the haddock was tasty. The chips were nothing special. Service was very good and quick.

Just left Mayfair Chippy after a family celebration with family from overseas. 7 adults, 2 children and a baby. The restaurant was packed with a line outside but we would never have known it. The service was attentive. We all loved the food and the children's meals were generous. The oysters were delicious. Really was s memorable lunch. Thank you for making it special.

One of the best place to experience fish and chips and they also serve the fish with non alcoholic batter. It is recommended to book your table well in advance to avoid long queue.

Visited Mayfair Chippy once, on Dec 10 this year. We were 2, with a friend. Booking made a few days in advance. We had fish and chips. The price was, on average, by appr 15-20% higher than in nearby establishments serving that dish. While fish was good, the chips were served lukewarm. Hence, 4* for the food. The service was friendly, unobtrusive, fast. The atmosphere… At the time of our visit there were only tourists focussed on picturing their experience for various social networks. The place was full, but there was no happy chatting or any interactions between different groups. Silence broken by the sound of photo shooting. Like the reporters composing articles fir their newspapers or blogs. So, the atmosphere here, at the time of our visit, was lacking that “unity” feeling typical for any ordinary pub.)

In London they have this problem: tables on top of each other, the tables are really pushed together, there's no privacy, you're stuck to your neighbor at the table, glasses fall and break, it's inevitable. They are not all like this, but we have seen many places like this, Covid should have taught us something. It's not hygienic to have tables so close together. I add photos Despite the reservation they went ahead and those without and we were seated after 10 minutes. It's not good. So much so that we didn't give a tip.

Probably the best fish and chip shop in London. They were serving mulled wine as well, that was brilliant. The staff were very friendly, there was a 30 mins queue to get in. It was worth the wait!

I was keen to try the classic cod and chips and it was very good. The mushy peas were excellent also. If I went again I'd be trying the mussels as they also looked very nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. It's a busy popular place so I would definitely book ahead. Great experience. Highly recommended.

Wow! Proper Fish and chips! Quaint atmosphere. Incredible service. Rita was amazing. We even had a person with allergies and she made sure no worries. We tried both the cod and the haddock . Both delicious. She made us feel super welcomed and treated us like family! Both batter light and crispy and fish was very fresh! We waited just a few minutes for a table but even the bar is perfectly pleasant. This was a definite winner in all respects.

We went there for dinner after receiving good references about this restaurant where we could try the authentic fish and chips in the city. We went a couple of times and we always found ourselves in a queue, so we decided to get in line and in 30-40 minutes they served us. We ate at the bar. We ordered fish and chips and you can choose between two types of fish (one fattier than the other) with potatoes and three sauces (tartar, mashed peas and one like meat broth). The dish is very abundant, delicious and very filling. The treatment by all the staff was very pleasant and always smiling. They make a lot of jokes. Especially the treatment received from Isaac and the new blonde girl who sits at the tables. Thank you!

We shared the prawn toast and found it unique. Must book this place in advance❣️ 📣 The lady manager was so responsive that she accommodated to our last minute change due to our flight delay. Not only did she reply to our email immediate. She even sent us a sms to our international mobile number. The four of us were so impressed by their professionalism. The fish and chips are very delicious, worth every penny. It’s not worth sitting and eating as the takeaway is much cheaper, but the food tastes delicious with all the side sauces they offer. Definitely try fish and chips and the takeaway is 16-17£ which is very good as compared to the 24-25£ in the restaurant where u get nothing extra but a table which is literally very cold. Rather take this and eat somewhere else

El mejor Fish and Chips que hemos probado, un muy buen rebozado y nada aceitoso. Nosotros cogimos "Fried cod, chips, mushy peaks, tartar & chip shop curry sauce" (un fish and chips con 3 salsas diferentes) y un "Fried Fish Haddock" al cual añadimos patatas. Nos sobraron un montón de patatas, el fish and chips con las tres salsas lleva suficientes patatas para dos personas. Ahora, estaba buenísimo. También comimos de postre el primero que aparecía recomendado por el camarero y delicioso. El espacio en el restaurante un poco pequeño, pero la comida deliciosa.

Had a fabulous experience at The Mayfair Chippy. Recommended by the big bus tour guide, we decided to take a chance and get in line around 4pm. After a short wait we had a table in the back and the most fantastic service from Fabio. Our food was delicious, all of us having the classic fried fish and chips, with haddock as our choice of fish. The table directly behind us was extremely demanding, with tons of questions about the menu, seating, wifi, and even wanting to charge their phones, but our fabulous server took it all in stride, patiently answering each request and still managing to give friendly and timely service to his other customers. Extremely impressed with both our service and food. Thank you Fabio! Highly recommend everyone stop by to see him and have a bite to eat.
