Excellent meals. My friend told me afterwards that the coffee machine wasn't working. Some younger customers were a bit loud while we were eating our All Day Feast!

Waiting staff were attentive & friendly, however bar staff I found to be arrogant & demeaning when questioned why app was faulty.

This pub’s got plenty going for it. Beer at £1.99 a pint—very good that. As for the food, it's functional. Not exactly Michelin-starred, but it won’t send you fleeing either. The staff? Mixed bag—some are proper sunshine, some are clouds.

American breakfast this morning disappointing,small and I mean small amount of bacon with pancakes and please heat the maple syrup up, cold syrup not nice.Otherwise a pleasant experience.

Good Basic Food. Very nice inside. Does need a lick of paint though.

The customer service in The Mile Thompson is incredible, clearly love what they do and had a great big smile on their face when we came in today.

Hey it's a Westherspoons you can't knock it. Great value as usual. Some staff were really friendly others not so but hey 1.99 for a good pint and decent grub at really affordable prices. Nough Said!

Sadly it is not as good as Morcambe. We went in for a hot chocolate, we sat upstairs so just brought the cups up to the machine. There was no hot chocolate so i went downstairs to the other machine, but it only had decaf espresso. I asked at the bar but was told it will be filled up later. To be fair the bar was busy. I went back upstairs to get a coffee instead but it had gone on empty. So it was not a good experience. It could be that it is a busy time of year! We ordered some food, the chips were cold. The service was good and the tables were clean.

I visit once a week for breakfast which is usually fine and excellent value. The hot drinks machines need regular checking.

Had breakfast this morning was a great price But when it came bacon was burnt sausage cold and tasteless beans cold hash brown hot on outside and cold on inside totally horrible breakfast😖 hey ho you get what you pay for, will not be returning 🤬

I visited on Saturday 9th of November with my partner and it was quite busy but I didn’t see anyone else who had ordered food. We ordered on the app and it kept crashing and I had to keep adding items and refreshing payment, in doing so I accidentally ordered the standard American burger for my partner instead of the double cheeseburger. I ordered a mixed grill for myself which we usually share with a jacket potato and extra coleslaw and peppercorn sauce. My partner wasn’t impressed to have a tiny burger and 12 chips (we counted which I know is petty but out of curiosity) but luckily I had ordered the large mixed grill so we weren’t too bothered and it was our own mistake anyway. In the end I wish we had ordered the large burger though as despite being cold it was edible. The mixed grill was absolutely shocking, the meat was cold and tough and looked like it had been cooked earlier then microwaved to heat up, I tried to cut it but needed to rip it, if I’d dropped it then it would have likely bounced! The tomato was completely hard and raw except for lines where it had obviously been placed on the grill for all of 10 seconds, a jacket potato with soggy skin and cold and hard in some places and hot in others, cold rock hard peas, a congealed cold sauce and the sausages and egg which might have been ok but I didn’t try them. The onion rings were just batter and disintegrated into dust when cut. We called over a staff member before I ate any to speak to him, I showed him the meat and he shrugged and said “That’s how it comes, I could replace it but it’d still be that bad” I laughed thinking he was joking and he said “Are you sure you don’t want it replaced?” When I assured him I definitely didn’t he said “ok I hope it’s not as bad as it looks!” He then ambled away stopping to pick up a single glass from a table full of empties and disappeared without making any other suggestions. I didn’t want to eat it so we shared my partners burger and stopped another member off staff called Harriet who we assumed was a manager as she hadn’t stopped and you could see was working her socks off, I showed her my meal and asked if she’d eat it, she diplomatically said no and offered to replace it for something else or offer a refund. We accepted the refund and decided to go somewhere else. I haven’t had any notification about a refund but I stopped and asked Harriet on the way out if it had been processed and she assured me it had been processed but will take a few days so I’ll wait. With the cost of living crisis’ Wetherspoons is so hit and miss. I find it is either a cheap option with a good atmosphere and excellent value meals that are a welcome option when you are on a budget or it’s a complete waste of money. We visited a couple of weeks ago and my partner had a perfectly cooked steak but I had to ask for my chicken and rice to actually be cooked as the chicken was raw and rice in one cold clump, there was also no coleslaw showing on the menu and that’s my favourite bit! I have also found you can rarely go wrong with a pizza as it’s cooked fresh and not microwaved. I probably wouldn’t have left a review as I haven’t with the previous disasters (including the raw chicken) but it was the comment about how even if my meal was replaced that it would still be horrible that led me to writing this. I think the male staff member who said this and who was so unconcerned and acted like we were being ridiculous complaining needs some extra training, I understand it’s not the best job and he’s not earning a fortune, it was just frustrating when this was considered as such a treat to be eating out. Hopefully I’ll be refunded as we bought a kebab on the way home, we will probably go back and get again but stick to pizza. I thought the mixed grill was a safe option as the steak was so nice last time we visited but if I’d given this to my cat he’d have probably refused it and stalked off in disgust - this is really saying something when I’ve seen him eat a dead rat and leave it for a but then go back to finish it off 😂.

Cora!!! Where do I start... The woman goes above and beyond whenever I come in and I can tell she puts her all in whatever the weather, a class act.

Cora really picked up the rest of the waiting staffs slack. Excellent customer service and she needs a raise. Right now.

The barman seemed disinterested in pouring our drinks. After serving other customers, he was gently reminded and seemed disgruntled at being so. He then finished pouring the drinks and left them away down the bar nowhere near us. Ordering food via the app was good service, and the food was nice. However, the drinks, again, were seemingly ages.

Top service, ordered via App and everything delivered to the table promptly. Food wasn't brilliant, but for the price, more than acceptable. I enjoyed the visit overall and I'll definitely go back.

Probably the worst witherspoons in UK, food was cold, undercooked and disappointing. Nothing like others.

Came here for quick family breakfast before heading into Windermere. Waited over 30 minutes for 2 meals to arrive. Breakfast wrap looked like it had been dropped and was minus the hash brown and the additional black pudding, no butter with the toast for large breakfast and then when asked only 1 portion delivered for 4 bits of toast!. Dirty cup brought for the coffee. It wasn’t busy when we arrived but we definitely won’t be coming back again.

Terrible! I have never left a review in my life but I feel I need to for this place. I’m a vegetarian and ordered the Vegan Burger at first they said one of us couldn’t have a burger as they ran out of buns so my brother had to change his meal. Then they brought out the food and missed things with the curry. I started to eat my VEGAN burger and then found BACON in it. The waiter was apologetic and asked if I wanted to order anything else but as I felt so sick I couldn’t so ended up sitting there while the rest of my family ate theres all of us in disgust. They did refund for the burger. I just feel that if you are religious and don’t eat meat or vegan/vegetarian I don’t want this happening to you, so you may want to think twice before ordering food here.

Prices have certainly risen in the last year, but still good value compared to other pubs. Ordering from the table via the app works very well. The meal deal whereby a meal includes a drink is refreshingly flexible in that it doesn't exclude many drinks, if any. Food was half decent and the children's menu is reasonable with plenty of options. £1.79/pint for quality craft ales during October Beer Festival - what's not to like?

Had quite a wait for food which was below par. Staff polite and friendly.

Its a spoons, usual hike to the toilets, service was a tad slow on the Sunday.

Nice pub, food was good. Place was quite busy and you could see the staff were rushed off their feet but still offered fantastic service and were very accommodating with the kids. Have been here a few times over the years when visiting Kendal.

Took over 40 minutes for food to arrive, when it did it didn't come out all together and was a long wait before the rest came out. When the curry eventually came it was cold so told the staff who bought the same one back out and barely any warmer!

Nice pub ,good staff ,clean , spacious, no problem finding somewhere to sit, but our food wasn't up to much ,had better at other wetherspoons.

The girl called ‘hattie’ was rude. never had service like it. i will not be returning purely because of hattie. she needs the sack.

Food was OK, and inexpensive. Tables were tacky, and the toilets were a real mess (one cubilcle out of order, another with the toilet seat hanging off, and another with toilet roll all over the floor).

After speaking to the bar staff, Jamie made the effort and offered a partial refund for the issues we'd faced. He spoke from a point of understanding and professionalism which goes a long way. I would come back knowing any issues would be handled properly by him.

Every wetherspoons I've ever been in has been awful. Until now. The sausages and hash browns were lovely. Great service. Really enjoyed the breakfast.

When walked in got told that they everything on the menu then go to order what we wanted and turned out they didn’t have hardly anything.

Slightly better than the Avery Weatherspoons with a decent family diner on the first floor

Staying with family nearby, so used this branch a lot. The staff seemed often overwhelmed and the place was understaffed. There were issues with food availability and quality. Often food was cold and had to be sent back. Breakfast on the final morning was chaotic even though the branch was relatively quiet. The understaffing and lack of ingredients was off the scale. Unbelievably there was no toast. We were told the bread had been delivered but there were insufficient staff to unload the roll cage. We were offered muffins instead which we were happy with; only to be told 5 minutes later that the muffins were also unpacked! I need at this point to praise the trainee supervisor who, despite being run ragged offered to replace the toast with an additional side of our choice. His actions were in extreme contrast to the lack of concern of senior management who should ensure that branches are adequately staffed and supplied with sufficient ingredients. Shame on Wetherspoon’s senior leader for leaving their colleagues to cope in such circumstances.

I went here for something to eat around 1pm on a Thursday whilst visiting Kendal for the day. I ordered my food at the bar with a young female staff member who seemed rather reluctant and somewhat stressed .She was trying to speak with her colleague via her ear piece at the same time and swore under her breath. I had just tapped my card to pay , and without a thank you or any acknowledgement she then dashed upstairs. I didn't have a receipt or any proof of my order so I thought I'd better get one just in case she had been too distracted to put my order through correctly . I waited for some staff member to turn up to check but no one seemed to be around. A young male staff member reluctantly went behind the bar to serve. I told him about my order and he was checking on the till and said such an order hadn't gone through. He too seemed distracted, and mutted something about being stressed so he proceeded to call for another staff member to take over. This other male staff member , who had a face like thunder, took over and he also confirmed that my order didn't exist. I told him the member of staff who took my order vanished upstairs so he left the bar to find her. In the meantime quite a queue was forming at the bar. He eventually returned, went to the till did something or other and printed out the receipt for my order and gave it to me without any apology. The pub itself is nicely done out , with even an outside area at the back , and the food was what you expect at Wetherspoons . However what spoilt it from my experience, is the young staff who haven't a clue about good customer service ! You just felt that customers are an inconvenience to them !

No chicken on the menu, allowed us to order it then came out to say they had none (for the kids). Ordered fish instead, they brought chicken bites on one plate, peas on another plate (on their own!) and chips on another plate. Missed a portion of chips. I had a beef madras which was cold and not properly mixed, granddaughter's chips were cold also. Got a replacement madras which was warmer but with an over nuked naan bread. Terrible, can't find anything good to say about this place. Will definitely never go again!!

Went out for a family meal, and when our food came, there were multiple issues. 1. Onion Rings were basically burnt. 2. When my drink came, they told me to fill up the glass with water at the water dispenser (Orange Cordial). Surely, they could have done that in the bar.

Barely adeqaute on my last visit. Tables were mostly in need of a wipe. The food took a long time to come, but it was busy. However, when the food did arrive, the server dropped chips off the plate onto the floor and didn't offer to replace them or even pick them up. We'd ordered two lots of peppercorn sauce which annoyingly arrived a few minutes later.

I ordered my food and drink on the Wetherspoons app. My drinks arrived quickly., pint of coors and a bottle of Peroni, the waitress said your glass for the Peroni is at the bar I’ll bring it shortly, it never arrived. We both drank the coors then poured the Peroni into that glass. The food hadn’t arrived 50 minutes after ordering it and noticed everyone else were getting their orders. Complained to the manager who delivered food to next table but felt like he wasn’t interested as he was walking/running away while I was speaking to him.

Place was very quiet. It was steak night so ordered gourmet sirloin. £13+.The chips,peas and peppercorn sauce was fine. However the steak was both grissly and chewy and a lot had to be left chewed up on plate. Certainly wouldn't have it again and certainly wouldn't recommend.

Worst visit to a Spoons. I realise you get what you get, and can't expect too much, but the food was terrible, brought to us far to quickly, obviously had some already made to just bring out. Tiny portions, sulky and surly staff. Wouldn't recommend, won't be back.

Clean and tidy. Prices are unbelievably cheap. Fast service.

Pop in here regularly, it's by far the cheapest breakfast and it's very good value for the quality. The staff serving are always very good at their jobs too. Breakfast and an endless coffee for less than one Costa coffee to take away.Its not just very reasonable prices it's dirt cheap.

Was really impressed with this spoons. There's loads of space with lots of seating. There's the normal great menu with something for everyone, especially vegetarians and vegans. Ordering on the app was really quick and easy, and food came really quickly! The food was fresh, very hot and tasty.

Ordered at the bar 1 large breakfast, 2 slices of toast with 2 eggs. How can the mess that up! Breakfast came out with 3 eggs 2 toast black bacon, no egg on toast. Sent back came back to us the had just taken everything off large breakfast. Sent back again asked for toast and it was warm bread! Came back out for the 3rd time!! Still disgusting jelly all over egg still warm bread on the plate. Young lad couldn’t apologise enough ended up getting a refund it was that bad

This place is THE ONLY 'SPOONS in the UK that I have had an issue with in that they consistently try to give you short measures on Pints. I have been coming here for about a month and know the staff to say a pleasntry hello or 2 too BUT they still make it look like I'm a robber for asking 'FOR A PINT'...

Not the best. Appeared under staffed for the size of pub. The staff there where on were friendly and helpful, but the food, including a wrong order was served only luke warm.

Ordered on app, said glass was supplied with drink, drink came no glass. I asked the lad for a glass, rolled eyes and off he went before banging the glass down on the table. No need. Wife ordered halloumi fries with soya sauce, got served Jack Daniels sauce instead. We had waited that long for our food we just just ate it and got going. Without doubt the worst spoons I've been in.

Stopped by on the walk for coffee and lunch. It is a fine example of Wetherspoons. Great staff, good food and coffee and the building is perfect inside with loads of seating areas. Will certainly be back.

Usual Wetherspoons food, served quickly. Good service at the bar and table service. Nice big place. Went in a couple of times. First time was very busy and noisy, second time was much calmer. Ate both times, used the app and also went to the bar, staff were quick and efficient.

First visit to Kendal so called in here for a quick lunch as we used our own local Wetherspoons 2/3 times a week so know what we are getting. Ordered a large house Rose wine to be told I can’t have it as they have a broken line! Suggested I try a bottled white wine instead which was for me. Ordered a Katsu grilled chicken breast curry which arrived as a breaded chicken curry which tasted awful. Also our server was very abrupt when my Husband asked for the salad dressing (which usually comes with the salad) saying I told you the condiments are over there! Kendal is lovely but I would suggest you give Wetherspoons a miss as there are plenty of other nicer eating places in town with better trained staff.

Thoroughly enjoyed a couple of visits to this impressive 'spoons in Kendal. Called in for afternoon drinks and snacks, which were delicious and good value. Returned for breakfast the next day, which was again served hot, by friendly and helpful staff. Clean, tidy tables, the pub layout was varied and interesting.

Cracking gorgeous food me my sister went for the Steak night and drink club + drink, included. Great atmosphere and brilliant attention to detail and service.

The food wasn't fantastic. The lemon chicken tasted awful! We had travelled to Kendal from North Cumbria for my husband's birthday and didn't want to spoil his birthday so I joked that it tasted more like floor cleaner! The chicken barely tasted of lemon more of neat alcohol and there were no herbs in it. The chicken tasted mushy! My husband tasted it and agreed it was awful! The apple crumble was full of cinnamon which was not stated on the menu. I have a food intolerance to histamine and cinnamon is a spice to be avoided to avoid a reaction. I ordered custard which I gave to my husband and he said tasted like plastic! There was not an option for sweet potato fries on the menu either, so I had to order white potato chips and give them to my family! The member of staff who took the order at the bar was in such a rush in a bid to sound professional and efficient and there was noone else waiting. However, it felt very impersonal and rushed. Another female member of staff failed to smile when I asked for help. However, having said all that, my husband and 2 daughters had enjoyed their food and the young gentleman who cleared our table was very friendly. Sadly we will not be returning!
