A wonderful first visit to The Miners Arms. They did everything right, from initial welcome to friendly goodbye. A masterclass that many other pubs could usefully pay attention to! Recommended!

Visited today with my wife for Sunday lunch Although some of car park and play area is under water, pub is open and lovely warm welcome when we arrived I had the roast beef and my wife had the chicken We also had a cauliflower cheese as a extra side dish Both meals were delicious and well presented Plenty of vegetables for both of us A pint of butty Bach and a j2o for the wife rounded off a lovely dinner All staff were extremely pleasant and very friendly, especially our server Lee, many thanks for a pleasant dining experience. Will be back soon and would definitely recommend

Despite being very busy the service was quick and good and the food was great. They warned us that there may be a bit of a delay due to a large group before us but in the event we did not wait long at all. The Food was great and plenty of it and all the staff were helpful and friendly. We were also pleasantly surprised by the modern but classic pub decor. Will be going again.

Friendly owners, and pub looks very welcoming. Lovely large garden with a pretty substantial kids climbing frame and plenty of tables. Good selection of beers and ciders, and the food is excellent, with plenty of veggie options. There is live music during the summer ... wish they kept it going into the autumn!

Really accommodating at short notice , had excellent service from Lee, and the meals we had were exceptional our compliments to the chef Griff. We had Lovely seating with a view,in the conservatory. Lovely surroundings. Ian was very attentive and gave us service with a 😃. Smile And the sausage rolls were a bonus. Lovely toilet facilities too. The dog was catered for ...very dog friendly.

Highly recommend The Miners Arms. 9 of us on holiday close by dined there last evening. Meal choice was very good. Lamb shank and beef and ale pie were excellent. All our plates were cleaned except for the lamb bones. The service was really good, we were sat in the conservatory, which was warm and cosy. Please go and support a really good local pub, you won’t regret it

Cannot recommend highly enough! Lovely warm, welcoming and friendly staff ..special credit to Lee who looked after us for the evening. Starters of Wild Boar parfait and Calamari .. both delicious...best calamari we've had. Mains of faggots, ribs (massive) and sirloin. All exquisite! Steak divine...so tender and flavoursome. Chips crispy on outside with fluffy middle salad fresh and well presented. Only one pudding...sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce and custard....yum!

Had Sunday lunch while staying nearby. Very helpful staff, gave us a table suitable for our dogs to sit with us. Lovely food.

Visited yesterday, had to change order 3 times due to nothing being available that was on the menu. Owner then tried to over charge us by £250!!! And to top it all majority of the party I was with have had stomach problems since eating there yesterday. Wont be returning ever. Avoid!!

Called into the Miners Arms by chance for a bevvy and snack. Very friendly including the dog, not my idea of a “miners”pub, bit posher than that! Bowl of soup, some pate, plus treats for pooch. 2 pump beers. All decent. Thank you.

Took my daughter & grandson out for a meal, have not been in this pub for over 20 yrs, great choice of ale's & ciders, the food as was the service, was absolutely great, great choice , certain specials on the board, very well cooked , quality & quantity , was spot on, will definitely be going back,

We visited The Miners arm for the 1st time today. A lovely welcome and amazing service. I had butchers thick sliced ham with chips, my husband had chicken curry with rice. This was followed by peach Eton mess. Both of our meals were amazing. We would thoroughly recommend this pub if you are in the area.

Booked at the Miners for a special celebration as the website had a good choice of vegetarian food. What a fantastic place! The service was exemplary, staff were super friendly and fun and we felt really welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and they even changed a dish to make it strictly vegan. Food was absolutely delicious. I had the Japanese curry which was so good. Our friends love a sticky toffee pudding and they said the Miners homemade one was the best ever, a melt in your mouth pudding, with butterscotch sauce and homemade custard. Can't rate this place highly enough, just wish we had found it sooner. Will definitely be back...

We had been walking in the forest all morning and pulled in for a quick lunch. The pub was welcoming and clean with a varied menu. The food came quickly in spite of them being busy. It was delicious and plentiful. Highly recommended.

Nice place to stop with the family. It has a great little beer garden with plenty of tables and enough play equipment to keep the kids happy for a while. Also some chickens for them to look at. The food was good, perhaps a bit pricey but still good value for money.

After nice drive around Forest of Dean. Stopped here as looking for food. Staff were welcoming and friendly. We got shown to a table straight away and the waiter was really attentive. Food menu and specials board had alot of nice options and a good variety. Food was lovely and hot and just the right amount. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Nice size carpark. Nice size garden with little play area for children or adults 😊. This is situated in a quiet little village. Having had a nice first experience here I would definitely recommend and go again.

Last minute lunch booking with family and was really impressed. Food was delicious, lots of choice, served quickly and with a smile. Staff were lovely, really accommodating and what a lovely setting for adults to relax while the children played. Loved the unusual chickens and the wandering sheep made a visit, much to the delight of the children. I will definitely visit again.

Service was quick and incredibly friendly. Any staff we spoke with met us with a smile. Great with questions about gluten free options. Quality food & Dog friendly.

Excellent service, and the food was delicious. Roast beef, roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables and a huge Yorkshire pudding, all cooked to perfection followed by chocolate fudge cake for dessert. Hope to return soon.

Despite not booking we were welcomed with no fuss. Food was good and value for money. Nice Guinness is a bonus.

Excellent lunch at the Miners Arms, we both had the ham egg and chips . It came very quickly and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Chips were homemade and the ham and eggs very tasty, with a lovely fresh side salad and portion of freshly made coleslaw. We sampled Wye Valley Butty Bach and HPA beers and they were excellent too. Friendly and attentive staff, with great attention to detail. Toilets were very clean too. Would recommend 100% for a drink be / or meal, so very close to the Float in the Forest experience we were doing in the afternoon.

We popped in for lunch. I had a chicken salad ciabatta and my son had the kids pasta. Very good quality food, lovely presentation, the staff were very friendly and attentive. Lovely tables inside and out to choose from. Would definitely come back again. Thank you

Lovely meal at the Miners Arms.. Staying for a few days in Whitecroft. This was the local. Food was excellent and service from all staff was amazing.

We stayed in the cottage next door to the pub and had three fantastic meals here. Super dog friendly, Ian was very welcoming and the food was fantastic. Highly recommend popping in if your near.

First time to this pub, nice location, great garden for children. Very friendly hosts, our roast was delicious, very generous portions and good value for money, would highly recommend.

Lee was very pleasant and welcoming, food was great. Good music on. Good choice of beers on tap and ciders, plenty of decisions of bottled drinks and soft drinks. Too many choices of gin aswell

Quaint little pub. Staff are very welcoming. There is a bus stop right outside which we used however was not the stop we needed haha. But all in all an amazing place reasonably priced and if this place is part of your adventure have a pop in.

Eating here was one of the highlights of our stay in the Forest of Dean. Really delicious food, clearly prepared from scratch and lovely staff who welcomed us all (2 adult, 2 kids and our dog) and were very happy to chat. The eating area is quite spacious, whereas the the bar area is rather more cosy. Wouldn't hesitate to come again if we're in the area.

The food here is really tasty and apparently prepared from scratch. And the staff were super friendly and made us all (2 adults to 2 children + dog) feel at home. I would particularly recommend the lamb shanks which were delicious. Only docked a start for Atmosphere as we visited on a wet March Tuesday evening and it was very quiet in the lounge area, which is quite spacious. We moved into the bar area after we'd eaten and it was lovely an cosey. Will definitely go back when we're in the area.

We had a 50th birthday party in the Miners Arms, and it was a fantastic venue. The food was great and the atmosphere was excellent, and the staff were very accommodating, and added to the excellent atmosphere. Thank you all.

Absolute jewel of a pub. We were in the area and popped in by chance. Outside it was pouring down...inside a lovely coal fire, warm welcome, delicious food and the sort of personal service you wished every place could have. I highly recommend this to everyone and we will definitely be back in the near future.

Lovely Forest pub good food and drink.

Our walking group held their annual lunchtime dinner at the Miners Arms, following a morning stroll. Our table was laid ready in banqueting style in a cosy room, just off the bar. All 26 of us enjoyed ample portions of well presented food with very hospitable staff in attendance. Nothing was too much trouble for them and I am already planning my next trip. Thank you team for making our meal so enjoyable!!! 😀❤😀

We had a family meal here New Year's Eve whilst staying locally and it was fabulous! There was 7 of us. We had the Sunday lunch, portions were a great size, there was plenty of veg, the staff were so attentive and so kind to my children. The room we ate in was beautiful and fab for the kids. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely return and highly recommend to everyone!!

A Christmas dinner with a group of friends. Food was excellent. Service was excellent. Had a “Christmas dinner” at another local hostelry yesterday which was good but this was better! Spoilt for choice in the Forest!

First time being there and was a proper classic pub proper enjoyed it, staff were friendly drinks were nice, if youre looking for a good decent pub this is the one to go to!

I had the lamb shank with Sunday roast, it wasn't the best, very like supermarket frozen, not enough gravy and plates were cold. All staff were friendly. 2 desserts came un heated, just showed nothing was made in house.

Have visited this lovely pub quite a few tines as we have family who live close by in the forest. Although we have never eaten here the food looks amazing! The staff are always super friendly, and attentive. The pub is dog friendly, clean, cosy and comfortable and the real ales are excallent. Always enjoy out visits and definitely recommend to anyone staying in the area. Just wish all pubs were like this!

Don't bother. Booked for 1pm. Ordered 3 soups. Didn't have any soup left. Ordered 3 lamb shanks. Didn't have any left. Ordered calypso coffee. Didn't have any tia Maria. Table next to us Ordered cauli cheese and pigs in blankets. Didn't have any left. What we did have was OK but deffo won't be going back. Oh and then on the way out went to the ladies and only one was free as guess what. Out of order..

This place has it all. Lovely friendly locals amidst a dog owners paradise. Plenty of room outside to enjoy a drink and the food wow. We ordered King prawns and Wild boar pate for starters and this did not disappoint. The main courses were Lamb shank and sirloin steak and the chef knows how to cook meat to perfection. We really would give them 6 out of five if it was allowed. Excellent venue for a perfect evening Thank you Ian,Chris and the team

Very very friendly and helpful., food was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Tables, floors and toilete were spotless. Definitely a revisit.
