The Montagu in City of London, Westminster

Came for the afternoon tea and while the sweets were tasty, the savouries were really disappointing (quite salty). We only really started to get proper service after complaining. While the concept of the tea was novel, I did not enjoy the experience and didn’t feel like it was worth the money at all.

Absolute disaster, 14 guests, 2 guests main course missed. We were offered a glass of preseco as compensation. 1 main sent back cold. 2 guests not even asked about about dessert. Would I recommend definitely no. Staff not competent.

Was lucky enough to experience one of the best Sunday brunches in London at The Montagu Kitchen today. There was a surprisingly large selection of delicious food, catering for all dietary preferences, and the staff were charming and attentive. Lunch also included live music to add to the atmosphere and make the “1940’s Sunday Brunch” experience special. Thank you very much for a lovely afternoon!

Oh wow what a wonderful true English Sunday brunch experience. We went to Montagu kitchen and they were celebrating Churchill's 150th birthday with in my opinion the best Brunch in London. Exceptional value for money, very pleasant atmosphere and delicious food. Highly recommend as a restaurant to visit in London.

The 1940s Sunday Brunch was one of the best Brunch experiences I’ve had. The set up was really warm and welcoming and the band singing provided a fun brunch vibe. Food on the buffet was exceptionally good - very many options and everything was delicious. My favourite was the roast beef, as well as the extensive desserts options, they even had a Churchill chocolate cake with whiskey in it, absolutely delicious! Highly recommended.

We had breakfast every day at the restaurant that's part of the Hyatt during our stay. Overall, the food was okay but didn't quite meet the usual Hyatt standards we were expecting. The atmosphere was also okay—friendly and welcoming, but nothing special. However, the restaurant is conveniently located, making it a good option for quick and easy food.

Amazing experience, great food and a wonderful staff, Giorgio was extraordinary as well as Krishna, amazing Sunday roast experience.

Bought bread, which cost extra. Then waited fifteen minutes for Caesar salad which was buried under a ton of dressing. Then no service at all. Finally flagged down a passing waitress. Burger was good, fries indifferent. Restaurant not busy, staff just standing around.

Went to Montagu kitchen to celebrate our anniversary. The experience was amazing from start to finish! The service was wonderful, the food was very tasty. They even brought for us a complimentary chocolate cake because I mentioned that the booking is to celebrate the anniversary. Beautiful evening out!

Is in the Churchill hotel in Portman square. Just needed a fast bite with a lawyer who dropped into town. We just had one hour on tight time deadlines. Very friendly attentive staff and divine home made courgette soup. Fresh, hot bread with tasty dips. Roasted butternut squash and burrata. Flavours were another level and soup piping hot. Am impressed. Perfect for a quick business lunch.

Tuvimos una experiencia maravillosa celebrando una ocasión especial. Nos dieron una copa de champán de cortesía que fue una sorpresa inesperada y realmente se sumó a toda la experiencia. We had a voucher to use for a four course champagne meal with petit fours. We were welcomed by a friendly young lady. We were seated on a very nice table. We were told everything that was going to happen and asked if we had allergies. Our first course was sour dough bread with dips and a baked mushroom, it was lovely. We had the tomato salad and smoked salmon for starters. Then our main courses were salmon and chicken. Our desserts were crème brûlée and cheesecake. Then followed by tea and coffee, petit fours. Noughts and crosses chocolates on a board, which you could lift the lid off and actually play the game. More chocolate truffles, and an almond cake. The goddess just do delicious, you definitely could not move after all of that! The service was very good, Danielle was very attentive, always making sure all was good with everything. Our waiter, I didn’t get his name was also very attentive and friendly. There is an open kitchen there, so you can see your food being prepared and cooked. The restaurant has wonderful decor, some beautiful chandeliers and art work. The toilets were so clean I think you could have created your food in there!!! If you want somewhere special to celebrate a special occasion then you would have a wonderful night in this restaurant. I will definitely be going back. Well don’t all the staff for baking our night so special.

The quiet and calm tones, soft fabric sofas and chairs, and dark wood dining table make the whole place warm and romantic. I think it is suitable for family dinners and lovers' dates. The rib eye steak was super delicious, tender, juicy, and slightly salty. I always like a little salt when eating steak, so the saltiness like this is just right for me😋. What amazed me was their cocktails. I ordered a glass of Blushy Peach (Shameful Peach? 😆), which should be apple juice, peach juice, and vodka. It is not bitter, not strong, and very sweet, just like a girl. I really like bartending. Love the rib eye steak, cocktail and cheese cake. All the food is fantastic. I cannot resist my stomach to have the second blush peach. Ha! Thanks a lot to Danielle’s sweet recommendations and service.

The Montagu is located opposite to a beautiful private garden and a few steps away from Oxford street and Marble arch station. The food was great and the service outstanding. Will definitely recommend!

Visited Hyatt Churchill for the first time and went for dinner at Montague. Omg the food was amazing. I had the ribeye and sweet potato fries with broccoli. The portions were more than enough for two people. The atmosphere is between lounge and dining. The service and the staff were very attentive. I enjoyed my food very much definitely recommended by #kaalameriyan

Food was very nice, prices were reasonable for the food quality. The service was utterly inadequate. First, they seemed to lack knowledge of their own menu. Second, everything moved at a glacial pace. It took them 5 minutes to pour a glass of wine, despite the restaurant being almost empty. We had to ask 3 times for more tap water. When I asked about the sorbets available, the waiter offered chocolate or vanilla ice cream. A single scoop of vanilla took 15 minutes to arrive at my table. Funnily enough, the only thing the staff did quickly was take the payment at the end. The waiters seemed to value the style and form of their service much more than any effectiveness or personability. Avoid this restaurant if you value good service.

Not only that the food was great, but the service and the workers there were very professional and nice, after having my meal i lost my ring in the ladies room, after two days i visited them to ask about and they have been keeping it safe and they did so much effort to give it back to me at the soonest. We booked and paid in advance for a 4 course tasting menu which is curated by a top executive chef and we were excited for a culinary experience. However on arrival we were told that we had to choose 3 courses from the main menu. Not really what I had paid for and we were a bit deflated. However, we were hungry and out of pocket by £150, so complaining seemed pointless. We were told we could pick a starter, main and dessert, but only had a set choice from 3 in each category. For mains the choices were turkey roast dinner, pasta or fish. We really didn't want any of those so I asked if I could pay a supplement and have a better choice, but I was told no. Really poor as the dish I would have preferred was actually cheaper than the one I was forced to order. Anyway I went for the turkey which was dry as old bones and my wife had pasta which was too thick and undercooked. Food was really average and service awful. Plates were left in front of us for ages and only cleared when I stacked them up to one side. We ordered a couple of cocktails which tasted like Lemsip and seriously overpriced. The Chocolates and coffee that was part of the 'deal' was not offered and I couldn't be bothered to beg for them. To make matters worse the 22 pounds service charge was almost as hard to swallow as the dry old bit of turkey they served me but I paid it and left, never to return. The whole thing cost over 200 pounds and was a big let down for our anniversary treat. There are much better places in London to eat for far less in London.

We had afternoon tea here to celebrate an 18th and a 21st birthday. The booking was made in advance and had detailed the number of vegetarian and other other dietary requirements. What a wonderful response from the kitchen with all food tailored to need. The food was wonderful and the staff attentive and friendly. Thoroughly recommended.

Very nice breakfast buffet and you may order special egg dishes from the kitchen. Lovely location in the Hyatt Churchill London.

I did celebrate my birthday there. The food was excellent, the staff's attention was impeccable and very friendly; also, the attention to detail was superb. I appreciated the details. The tables are well spaced and give you some privacy. Apart from that, as we were staying at the hotel, I enjoyed the buffet breakfast, which was great with a lot of variety and service, again, was exceptional.Thank you all!

I just have to say that this place is Extraordinary, the attention was exceptional, the food so delicious, and the best part of the evening was Giorgio, he is so kind, he explained every detail in the menu (because I’m vegetarian) so he was really helpful, and charming, if you come you will be very lucky if he takes care of your table. I really would recommend this place for any occasion.

Food was good but service is very poor for Hyatt Regency standard. Stayed here for 7 nights and every breakfast was the same. We had to fight to get the waiters attention and coffee usually arrived just as we’re about to finish our breakfast. They can do much better!

Service was great and staff were very friendly, got a few starters sides and mains. The starters were great, the sides were okay, as for the main i got the Halal baby chicken, it was very disappointing and the presentation was disappointing too compared to the rest of the things we ordered. I really would recommend you change the sauce on the baby chicken as its very unpleasant and does not work well as a dish

Went there with my wife on sat night. Atmosphere was not great. Lots of empty tables, bad lighting. Not romantic. The restaurant feels pretty much part of the hotel, like the hotel canteen. Food is overpriced and below average. All food was soaked in butter. We ordered scallops, a fillet steak, and artichoke risotto. All soaked in butter. The risotto was a soup!! They even asked me if I wanted to eat it with a spoon. Wine list is very limited and choice is not great. I would have expected a lot more from this place considering the reviews . May be we ordered the wrong things but we were both disappointed .

Fantastic free flowing champagne brunch! The restaurant was unexpectedly quite quiet. Maybe because it was the first weekend following the death of the Queen, but whatever the reason, the service was exceptional and the food excellent. The atmosphere was relaxed with soft music in the background. We had not been to the restaurant since just before the covid pandemic, so it had been a while. However, with a change of menu and there no longer being a partial buffet service, we felt the full table service worked better than before. The food was delicious, ranging from traditional brunch options to vegan options, it was all excellent. We opted for the free flowing champagne, rather than"bubbles" There is extra charge for this but we thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was attentive and generous, we never had an empty glass. We would definitely recommend this restaurant for brunch and we will definitely be back much sooner than before!

We had diner at restaurant The Montagu and the staff was so kind with us. When we arrived the lady, what I think is a hostess offered us to take our jackets and give us the perfect table for which we had asked. The lady wich served us, her name was Angelika was brilliant. She recommended us wine, the wine was excellent. The food what she recommended was amazing as well. We asked Angelika to move us to the bar if that is possible, was possible and she escort us to the bar, where the service was gorgeous as well. Thanks to the whole team from Hyatt Regency London and mostly to Angelika for that you made our night magical.

Hmm... Been coming here many times over the years. Will be back - but not for Sunday brunch. Food sadly a bit hit and miss, and we're not convinced by the concept. Despite the restaurant being really quiet, service was a bit... awkward. Definitely a regular a la carte lunch next time (not available on a Sunday though)
