Superb food, good range of beers, friendly service. Music and sports TV. Great for a pre match meal before Welling United or Erith and Belvedere.

Today had Turkey tradition meal at the Nags Head. We ordered drinks from a friendly, cheerful young lady. She wasn't sure about what we wanted (port and lemon) so was happy for us to tell her what it was and how to make it. Then joined in with our amusement over why we wanted it. We were shown to our pre booked seat, and did not feel hurried in any way to start our meal. Starters were very tasty, especially the mushrooms, and was a good sized portion. Christmas dinner was well cooked and presented. Again, very generous portions. We love the new decor, especially the 'nags' heads on outside of the building. The refurbishment definitely an improvement Staff were very attentive, chatty and friendly. We will definitely recommend 'the Nags'. Thank you for a lovely afternoon

I had a festive meal at the nags last week with my family, hands down the best festive meal we have had at a pub. Artur and Morgan were very attentive gave quality service and there was quality atmosphere will defiantly be returning. Thank you guys !!!

Nice enough and local to me. I'm old enough to remember how it was originally and I still prefer it that way, however, times change. It's very modern and light with hanging baskets outside brightening up the season. My most recent visit was a Wednesday evening and I thought the ale/bitter range was somewhat disappointing just before Christmas. That's likely due to the average age of clientele and those beers are adequately covered in nearby micropubs. Sport on the TV, served quickly and it's clean, though despite 2 refurbishments, the loo appears to still have the 'stink' from the 80s. We didn't eat, so I'll make no comment on food. Would I go back? Absolutely.

Went to The Nags Head on Saturday 30th November, for our Christmas get together, there were about 15 of us, we pre booked our food from the Christmas menu, good value at 3 courses for £22, when we got there the table was laid out lovely with Christmas crackers and napkins on it,couldn't fault that at all,it's when the food came out that the disappointment came! I had chicken strips for starter, and it came with cranberry dressing which I asked for them not to put on, but it was covered, I did tell the server that I asked for it plain,to which I got a shrug of the shoulders, so didn't eat that, others had Prawn cocktail which they said was nice, and a soup which was ok, then the mains I ordered Christmas dinner as I didn't think you could get that very wrong but I was proved wrong! Well the gravy was in a little boat but you could slice it, potatoes were like boiled potatoes not roasted for long enough, turkey was compacted meat yuck! And the Yorkshire pudding you could of hammered in nails with it, it was so hard, Luke warm vegetarian, and a parsnip that looked like it was made out of rubber. I didn't eat a single bit! Others had steak which they said was ok but the peppercorn sauce was also too thick to pour like it had been hanging around. Pudding was ice cream so couldn't go wrong with that really. Overall the food was very disappointing. The drink prices were reasonable, and there was a dj, so you can have a dance.

I often Pop into the Nags Head when in the area visiting family. Been here a few times since early this year, the pub has been renovated and looks smart. The food (pub grub) is generally good and the staff are friendly. A great place to go on your own and/or you want to watch sports. However on this visit (Monday) the cook didn't know how to cook a medium rare Sirloin steak I ordered. The steak was lower grade (utility cut). Maybe stick to ordering pub style grub and burgers instead. Beer on tap is Ok. Greene King bottle. beers available.

Booked a table of 16 on arrival there was a section called welling Corner just for us witch was very nice as it was a family meal so we could all socilise and the food was great better than you average pub grub will definitely be revisting oh and the service for a big booking was faultless big thanks to Arthur and team

Food pretty good, portions not excessively large but quite tasty. A good view of the football on TV, from pretty much everywhere in the pub.

We had a double birthday family celebration, Arthur had booked us in a few days before. Food and service was faultless. It was a busy Sunday evening but the staff were very attentive. Food was excellent and there was a pleasant buzzy vibe. Highly recommended

Had two mains off of the classic menu and they was piping hot, fresh and good portion size. Always loved the nags even from when it was a flame and grill.

Lunch menu deal was a steal I had a glass of wine which was £6 something on its own and then to have a sandwich and chips with the glass of wine it was like £9! I couldn’t believe it , definitely the perfect spot for some lunch on the high street.

Hosted my dads 80th birthday at the Nags and they was more than attentive. What a great team ! Food only took 20mins to arrive. Quick service on the bar and the toilets were in immaculate condition. Will be returning that’s for certain.

Went in for Sunday lunch last Sunday and had a lovely meal, turkey and beef duo is always my go to, fresh veg and nice thick gravy, yummy !!

Came in on Saturday with a few of my friends for some catch up drinks, the pub had a DJ at about 9ish the atmosphere was great. This is looking like the regular meet up spot from now on.

Good food, good atmosphere and even better cocktails 🤩 passion fruit martini was my favourite and for only £5.99 I think the nags will be seeing a lot more of me and my friends.

I've been to the nags head now a few times since moving to the area early this year, the pub has been recently renovated and looks fantastic. The food is very good and the staff were very friendly. A great pub to go to if you want to watch football lots of big screens etc. They are dog friendly too which is great! as I was able to bring my furry little mutt with me. Great pub! Ollie

this review is solely based on my experience on a Saturday. My friend and I went there on Saturday 26th October and it was the first time we had visited on a Saturday. The food was cold, but that was because there was only 1 person serving, he was run off his feet. We couldn't talk because someone had brought a dog in and it continuously barked throughout the entire meal. I don't blame the dog I blame the owner. The poor dog was not used to so many people moving around. During the week this is my favourite eatery. Usually it is very good and my favourite waitress is Gerri.

Not sure if a pub or restaurant ? so called in to see. First impression was a huge tv screen so assumed I was in a pub! No bar tariff that I could see so paid over the top price for a pint of Spanish beer £6.05 not sure what the five pence is for. I have had cheaper in central London so found this over the top for Welling High St

Great looking place inside and out . Staff very friendly Would however recommend ordering at the bar for food rather than the app as it's quicker . Would return

Lovely Lunch food was great will definitely go again. Staff were lovely and really looked after us. The outside terrace is beautiful and we cannot wait until the warmer weather so we can sit outside.

The first 2 cask beers l tried were off, so went for bottled beer which was fine. Last time l was in this bar was about 10 years ago, never a trouble with the beer back then. The cellar should be better than it is. Apart from the beer the pub looked good since it's been refurbished.

Great pub. Was quiet before the refurb. Now it has more character and friendly staff. Food is traditional pub grub and always cooked well. Could do with more staff serving at busy times. Will be back regularly now

Reserved an area for the wife’s 60th birthday drinks. When we arrived we had a nice welcome from Simon behind the bar and he directed us to our area which had been roped off. We asked for space for 25 and were given an area big enough that everyone could sit if they wanted to. Even though the pub was busy service was quick and smooth. All bar staff served with a smile and politeness. Extra bonus was the disco so everyone could have a dance. A brilliant night was had by all. The Nags Head pub and staff get a 10/10 from me.

Had a funeral Wake there yesterday. Staff were really helpful and lovely. The spread of food was amazing, especially recommend the sausage rolls. The buffet was really generous portions per head. Highly recommend this venue.
