The Newyearfield in West Lothian

We were here just before Christmas. My friend ordered a burger, when he eventually got served, it was more than charred, it was black on one side, and not much better on the other, he sent it back, I swear to God, I think they turned it over, and sent it back. Never again

Food is good value but difficult to order on poorly designed App/website. Difficult to see/select items and ultimately App hung before payment. Ordered at the bar where staff helpful but seemed a bit fed up. Others complaining about the App. Food came quickly. Helpful and friendly waiting staff. Free refills on coffee welcome.

Staff are lovely and friendly but service can be slow as it's always so busy. Never had a bad meal in this Spoons! Always a favourite of ours when we go shopping in livingston, great prices too.

Very busy, food was stone cold, staff at least offered to reheat it. Just what you should expect at wetherspoons, I suppose.

Went here for my works night out was a great atmosphere and service was top notch.

Got the all day breakfast was good for the price but the service was super fast had only put the order on at the bar went to get the coffee and the food was at the yable before me well done😀

The Food was cold,we ordered 2 all day brunch and 1 child menu the chips are dark Brown look like was fried in old oil

Our first time in a "Spoons" and we were very impressed. The place is very well run, spotlessly clean and well laid out. Bar staff were friendly and welcoming and took time to explain how they do things there. The unlimited coffee was new to us and very much appreciated. Our generous full breakfast arrived from the servery in good time, and the food quality was top notch. 10 out of 10 Wetherspoons. I can't fault anything, and the price was lower than expected, which is always a bonus. Left very happy and will most certainly be a regular customer from now on. Fantastic place.

It was extremely busy, only tables outside, which we found to be perfect for us as it was so noisy inside. Bar Service was very fast and they were very pleasant. I had chicken tikka . Very nice but the nan was over done so a bit hard. My daughter had a burger which didn't look very nice but she said it was small but tasty.

No tea or coffee available as machines were broken, ladies toilets closed, had to get a key to use the one disabled toilet they have

Been visiting for years but my last visit I was extremely impressed with the standards of the food. Myself and two of my friends ordered different meals. We were all impressed and happy with our dishes.

Food was really nice, service was much better and the atmosphere was much better than last time. A peaceful and well cooked meal had by all of us.

Had breakfast and was consistent with any other wetherspoons we have been to. They were very busy but it was a nice touch that someone came over to tell us that food would be 30 minutes or so. Expect queues for coffee machine if you go here but we avoided that, other than that we were very happy all round.

Was visiting our son and took him here for dinner. I thought prices have definitely went up quite abit but I suppose same everywhere.

Food was terrible. My 2 year old nephew could have done a better job at cooking food stale. Never going back

Stopped in for a couple of drinks on a visit to the Almondvale shopping centre. The variety & price of drinks was great & the service was quick & friendly. Nice & clean which tends not to be the case for the majority of Wetherspoons.

Que for coffee is mental, one machine broken and other temperamental. 10 minutes que for a black coffee.......not great.

Wetherspoons,, you get what you pay for and expect. Portions are getting noticeably smaller these daye, but with a free drink, what's not to like

Standard Spoons. If you're looking for a quaint michelin star food and bijou setting this isn't it. But if you're after decent honest grub with a drink... as Shrek says... that'll do donkey. That'll do.

Bad Service Attitude This morning, I ordered two toast breakfasts at your establishment, but unfortunately, both toasts were burnt (photos attached). I raised this issue with a waitress—she had dark brown hair tied in a ponytail and was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt. She told me that the toasts are always like this and there was nothing she could do. As a regular customer, I’ve always been satisfied with the service at your shop, but today’s experience was disappointing. I believe when a customer raises an issue, an apology should be the first response, not dismissal.

It's a spoons you know what to expect, Defo worth the money you pay.

This is a great modern wetherspoons Well laid out, very light with nice comfortable seating areas. A great asset to the shopping centre area. We have been to many witherspoon pub s all over the country, and this one is one of the best laid out we have visited 😀 Nice one wetherspoons

Typical wetherspoons, extremely busy, table staff were very efficient clearing and cleaning tables while very busy.

Spent 32 pound on food and drink, had to collect my phone from public toilet and my food and drink was binned, never even seen it and was refused refund. Told I have to speak to manager who was on shift but 3 times now she's not been there. Horrendous practice.

Excellent and on a busy day our experience was both comfortable quick and food was excellent especially extra cheese on Mac and chips

Food is OK. It's cheap and adequate. What more can you expect for the price! Liked the hot drinks endless refills. Good value. Coffee was OK. Mocka much better.

Wrong food order sent, took ages to get replaced by which point everyone else had finished their meals, the staff member who brought the new meal was obnoxious & rude...

Very friendly and helpful staff. Food as expected. Meals hot and freshly cooked. Love the free coffee fill ups.

Nice interior and selection of food

Had a good breakfast here, serving staff were friendly. Last time we were here was a few years ago, that time we asked for the table to be cleaned, that didn't happen, same happened this time the staff cleared the table, but never wiped it clean. This is the second time we have been here in 5 years and second time our table has not been cleaned. The last time this happened I emailed the head office and received a cheeky email reply from them, so I won't be emailing their customer services again.

Nipped in for a pint but regulars were friendly , staff were excellent and beer was nice so stayed lot longer then expected. Food coming out looked better then an average witherspoon

Food choice is from the menu. Service isn't, it is swift and pleasant, even when busy and that is often. Staff are excellent. Food is to a good standard and when have had issues they have been dealt with promptly

I would like to share our experience, Which wasn’t great unfortunately. Order traditional breakfast ! Staff member bring our food and it was ok until i take toast and under was half hash brown looks like left overs. Shocked. Ask manager why is that the answer was cook in fryer this how it is and the she told to me don t talk to me like that so rude and not polite at all. Lady manager told she will bring 1 new hash brow but I requested to replace full plate with new breakfast in plate this was refused by duty manager lucky get money refund. Lady in duty manager position should know better how to deal in situation like that.

This is the 4 Wetherspoon I have been in and they are all the same you get look warm food. We won’t be back. The place was jammed with tables I was lucky to get passed.

I have just stood at the bar, which was by no means busy, for 10 to 15 minutes. The young girl serving was going as fast as she probably could. She then served 3 customers who had arrived after me. As I left I spoke to the duty manager, explaining my displeasure of their service, who shrugged her shoulders, turned away and made a half hearted apology. This used to be one of the best pubs in Livingston, JD Wetherspoons get this place sorted or you will loose more than my custom.

Rubbish food for fish and chips handed it back and they told me they can’t make me another fish as to try it before eatting it the rest off my plate I will be taking this follrther to the paper spending all this money on food and can’t even eat it

We chose the small plates, food was excellent as usual. Staff very friendly. The only complaint l had was dirty dishes were lying about and not being cleared very fast

Been going hear for years and love it sadly lost the 3 of us as a customer they have taken the mixed grill off the menu we always get that

Busy Saturday lunchtime so staff were doing as well as they could. However the food wasn't great, none of it was particularly hot despite the plates being roasting, the chips could have done with a few minutes longer in the pan and the sausages were average with not much flavour. The best bit was the black pudding!

Ordered 3 pitchers, there was apparently no ice. We were not asked if we still wanted them or not just dumped on the table. No offer of a discount or refund. Pretty poor service.

I am here often, whenever I have been shopping in Livingston. Many people look down on Spoons, but it does what it says on the tin. It is cheap and d cheerful. Spoons can have poor service sometime, but this is one of the better ones. Service is usually fine, though sometimes app orders are prioritised over the bar, but once fixed, they catch up soon. The service in this Spoons is definitely one of the better ones, and the staff are always polite and friendly. Food is nothing special, but decent enough. The steaks are good value, compared to eateries round the area. The food special, but does the job. Yes, a lot of it is partially pre-prepared, but that is the case in most chain restaurants, and many others too. Here is where this one has let itself down though, and it is a recent event. It was closed for a few days for re flooring. And it reopened there had also been a reorganisation. Now there are too many tables and chairs. They are crammed together, so there is little to no personal space. The waiting staff down well to navigate through the maze of tables and narrow gaps. Sadly, it also means, if you are in a wheelchair or have limited mobility, it will now be a real struggle for you. Before it was not always straightforward, but was manageable, as there were still a few accessible tables. I am not sure this is the case now. If you have a pushchair, especially given their size now, it will also be a real struggle.

Excellent pub,food and drinks. Very quick service and most unusual in a Spoons pub you can see the food being cooked in the open kitchen.

Currie chicken is not it is chicken with something that is supposed to be currie sauce poured over it ,chicken should be cooked in the sauce,everything was cold, steak and kidney pudding was more of a pie it actually had a crust again everything was cold definitely not up to the standards of other wetherspoons pubs we have eaten in previously

Too noisy TV too loud (you never used to have TV or Music in your pubs, it's a pity that you started...

Very welcoming place and always busy. Great for all, families, couples, singles. Very affordable with a wide ranging menu.

The food is more delicious than the Scottish meals I had in the previous two meals and is highly recommended.

We had a great meal in the Newyearfield I had a notion for a bar grill but its been off the menu for a while now so I had the fish with chips and it was as good as any other restaurants I've eaten in but the price makes this an easy choice where we would rather eat out and the beer prices they can't be beaten. Top restaurant, top food and top service. We would highly recommend JD Wetherspoons for a good meal and the breakfast is tops.

Had to walk out as no vegan food options for small grandson with dairy allergy. Long story short - was told the bread in the vegan options also contains milk. So, not actually vegan then........

Enjoyed the double Gourmet BBQ Burger with chips and onion rings and a great deal with a Pint of Brewdog Punk IPA for £12.60 👍

place is absolutely minging, waiters disrespectul as anything! everyone looks absolutely miserable and had a very smart mouth with me and my friend for no reason. place is a mess leaving empty plates and empty glasses everywhere not bothering to pick them up.

Very disappointing 😞..I used to visit and get a lovely big oval plate FULL of decently cooked food but this is my 1st visit in a while for a meal and boy, we're we disappointed. Both meals were well overcooked - fish and chips and the other meal was a southern fried chicken wrap and chips..the chips were overcooked as well as the chicken from the wrap? The fish took the biscuit though, it was cooked within an inch of its life and there was hardly any fish left in the "batter" which was solid. It qas really shocking - there was a couple in front if us who sent theres back and got a whole new meal straight away but due to us having TRIED to eat it, i didnt think they would have done that for us.. We were taken aback and in shock at the state pf it but I wish I'd asked for our money back. They put us in a position and we ended up losing out but, it just means we will never go there again. Which is sad as I used to like it but, not if that's what food they are putting out. I'd actually appreciate if someone got in touch with me from the shop and offered us another meal - esp due 2 To the fact that we spent a fortune, besides the food, on alcohol, as I think we were hoping that would make the food less horrible..

Service is non existent in this place! Waiters walking past tables full of empty glasses and plates, not picking them up, everyone looks absolutely miserable. Security look like they were ordered of wish. I know spoons is cheap and cheerful, but this one is only cheap, in every way possible! What a disgrace! Food is what you expect from a place like this!

Popped in here for a refreshment whilst shopping at the centre. Was very busy and good atmosphere. Didn't order food but had a great selection of drinks Gin and Beer 🍺

Lovely "spoons" on the retail park. Clean, no tables full of used plates and glasses!! Very close to Livingston FC stadium. The Doom Bar real ale was in great condition. I'd recommend and visit again!! 🍻

Managed to get a table. Decent value, but could have been better presented. Very busy and quite "rowdy" not ideal for young kids
