First visit for a works Xmas meal. Prawn cocktail very good, steak very good with lovely peppercorn sauce. Tiramisu with sambucca shot in bottom different but very nice. Ran out of two different beers on tap whilst there, bot slow on some of the waiting but overall a good experience, nice setting. Avoid sitting opposite the front door on a cold night as a draft comes in every time door opens. Worth a visit

We as a party of three, chose to visit The Oligarch for a bottomless brunch. The only down side was that we all felt, that our waitress (waitress with pink hair) was very abrupt in her delivery of the rules of the brunch - which were only dictated once we were about to order our food and drinks - and not at the beginning of our experience. She should adopt a much softer, friendlier and customer focussed approach to ensure the customers enjoy the best experience at this establishment and be likely to return! We did have a better rapport, with the other waitresses who served our table. Nevertheless, the food, drinks and on the whole service - was very good. The bottomless brunch is worth the money, with a selection of high quality food and drinks - all delivered in a lovely restaurant setting.

Amazing food, amazing service, beautiful place to eat.

Really nice place. Looks great, decorated ready for Christmas. Staff were wonderful. We were served beautifully by a friendly lady. Food was devoured by us all, 6 empty plates. Bit on the pricy side but good food all round.

Came for food last Saturday evening for date night with the missus, and what can I say, the food was incredible, drinks were amazing, the service couldn't have been better and the decor astonishing, will 110% be coming back and recommending to friends and family!

If you like restaurants for its looks and to take pictures then this is the restaurant for you. However eating at the restaurant, it’s a completely different experience and NOT A GOOD ONE. We dined at this restaurant on the 2nd of December 2024 and the restaurant was freezing cold. We asked for heaters to be put on and they told us it was already on, what they forgot to say was that it was only on by the front door!! We ordered our food and it took ages to come and when the food did arrive the waitress was all over the place forgetting who ordered what food. Cutlery was wrong for all the people having steak and when I complained that my knife was wrong, she brought me the biggest knife I've ever seen which was clearly a kitchen knife!! Eventually, our food turned up, but they forgot food for one of our children and we waited another 15 minutes for that to arrive And then our food was cold. The service was shockingly poor and not a place we would Visit again.

I decided to visit The Oligarch last minute because I couldn’t meet up with my friends. The food is great and the service is really good, really nice staff I must say. The vibe of the restaurant is also very nice. 10/10

Everything was fabulous from the service to the food and the atmosphere. The food was quite a lot that I didn't have space in my stomach for dessert. The waitresses were very nice and kind 🫶🏼 A-M-A-Z-I-N-G place 😍

Not the best experience, taken here for my birthday, on arrival was offered a small table next to the door as nothing else available when we booked in advance? then told we could get a drink as a booth was coming free next to the bar, so we stood waiting for a drink, to then not to get served, to then getting put to the booth, we ordered are food and drinks, drinks where nice, i had a cocktail was great, then my food comes missing the sauce i had ordered for my steak and lobsters, there was almost not meat in the lobster only the tail and claw so that was disappointing, got my sauce after waiting a while, as we where finishing our meal all the tables got moved in the middle and about 20 guys come in shouting ordering drinks this made it very difficult to talk, i guess it turns into a bar/ club later, we then had people standing right infront of us making comments about 2 ppl in a booth and people hoovering over our table waiting for us to leave so they could take it. And everyone pushing past, I found this very annoying and uncomfortable made us feel unwelcome as this was a ment to be a nice romantic meal with my wife for my birthday, after spending £140. It took 15mins to finally get to pay as my wife had to get up to find somone.then to top it all off my wife was being sick all night and iv had a really bad stomach, i would avoid the sea food here, so all in all a bad experience especially for how much it cost, the staff where friendly and the place it self is very nice. Before it turns into a club, the food and seating area where terrible. My understanding is this is also part of the Blossom room, but i found Blossom room to be brilliant much better and would recommend going there instead.

We had dinner for special occasions on our Wedding anniversary. Excellent atmosphere,nice decorations and service was great. Food was nice. We got surprised by cake from restaurant. Happy vibes.Enjoy to come back again.

Visited here a few times now. The food was lovely, atmosphere was great and service was faultless.

The decor is all this restaurant really has going for it. Heating did not work in the restaurant. It was cold and when we asked for the heating to be turned up we were told it was on !!! The service is slow and the food is even slower and takes forever to come out. They even forgot one of our parties food !! The background music was terrible too - Overall if you want some nice photos then go there and take the pictures and leave, there are better places in Milton Keynes to eat.

The starters were out of this world fantastic. Best place in Milton Keynes to have a Christmas Meal. The Christmas music made us feel some kind of wonderful. In this restaurant Christmas is definitely the most wonderful time of the year.

It's a spectacular place, it's an adventure to choose from and the food is delicious. The staff was very attentive, well informed and very kind, and the decor is one of the most beautiful you can find in a restaurant. My new favorite restaurant

Amazing service. The food is out of this world, we had the lobster. The owner called Alex came over and had a lovely chat with us. Cant recommend this place enough it looks like a top London restaurant inside. 10/10

I love this place, food is excellent, service is even better. I've been to this venue several times whether it be a brunch with the girls, lunch/dinner with the hubby, and even a sunday roast with the family. Even a night out on the weekend occasionally to enjoy a few cocktails where the music and vibe is just what you need to unwind and enjoy yourself, even the security are top class and very professional. The food is Mediterranean themed, the decor in the venue is elegant and classy and ideal for a corporate event or private function. You will not be disappointed with a visit to The Oligarch.

My sister and I left separate honest reviews about the poor service we received at this restaurant yesterday. I left my review on my business Google account, and they threatened under my sisters review to “contact our employers” unaware that was my business, and I was the owner (the business has been closed for years). Members of staff, including our waiter, have requested to follow the businesses’ page on Instagram. I’m very confused about this, and it’s extremely unprofessional. No accountability has been taken by these people, and they have been nothing but defensive to honest feedback.

Booked online for a bottomless brunch at 4:30pm, arrived and got told that their brunch ends at 4pm. I got told that we should’ve looked at the brunch page on the website, even though their booking system lets you book brunch until 4:45pm. We had to present the email confirmation to them as proof. A couple members of our party arrived late, and we were fine for the brunch to begin at the time of booking (4:30pm). We got told we had to wait until all party members were there to start. Throughout the meal we got constantly reminded that they needed the table, and we were to hurry up - not allowing us to relax and enjoy our time on my birthday. We were rushed off our table, and we would understand more if it was fully booked but there were lots of other empty tables. We asked to remove the service charge on the bill because we didn’t feel that we received an adequate service. As soon as we walked in the restaurant we were confronted with hostility when they told us brunch had finished (despite our booking - please see attached screenshot), and this continued throughout our time there. We wanted to support a local business, instead of going to a chain which is a shame that their staff were rude and hostile. Nice food and cocktails though.

I am unable to reply to their reply following my review so I will post a new one. Last night we came to this restaurant for my sisters birthday. We experienced bad service so complained at the end of the night, following this I wrote a bad review online. Your response was that we arrived 30 miniuntes late. This is incorrect and now you have lied. My two friends arrived at 35 past (5 minutes late) and we later arrived at 45 past - with one friend still running late. We told you we were prepared to start the brunch as we completely understood this was our own fault. However, a member of YOUR staff told us they were happy to wait for my friend. After I left my review, 5 others 5* reviews were added onto google, very suspiciously. Staff members were obviously told to write a good review to ensure my review would not be read by future customers!! Not once were we apologised to regarding the service we had received and instead you have said that we were aggressive which we definitely were not so unsure on why you are lying. At the end of the night we asked our waiter to politely remove the £22 service charge as we did not believe we received the service to justify that, understandably. You also state that we asked to remove the service bill which worked out £3 per person, there was 6 of us, so this is also incorrect. We did not complain throughout the night as the food was fine and it was purely the attitude of your staff that was the issue. I was not prepared to ruin my sisters birthday by telling our waiter she had an attitude problem, quite frankly. You state that we had not mentioned anything throughout the night yet gave the waiter abuse throughout? So which one is it? Looking back on trip advisor and google there are multiple reviews regarding the attitude of the staff. They did not take accountability for the poor service we received and therefore tried to save themselves by lying and asking their staff members to comment 5* reviews. Shocking. I didn't want to write a bad review on google but I have never been treated so badly at a restaurant. This could have been resolved with an apology on the night, yet they were more bothered about their reputation.

It really is the premier experience. Completely outstanding food, drink, and service. The Oligarch stands on its own, magnificently beyond any other restaurant in or around Milton Keynes (and we have dined at all of the "recommended" venues). We didn't want entertainment - live or DJ - and so chose to dine at Saturday lunchtime. The food was completely wonderful and generously portioned. Sure, the prices were at the top end, but this ultra-premier experience was worth every penny.

The Oligarch truly offers a premier dining experience with exceptional food, drink, and service that sets it apart from any other establishment in or around Milton Keynes. Having visited all the "recommended" venues, The Oligarch stands out magnificently. Opting for a Saturday lunchtime to avoid live entertainment or DJs, we found the food to be extraordinary and the portions generous. Although the prices are on the higher side, the unparalleled experience justifies every penny spent. Having looked at other reviews - avoid peak nights, get bookings confirmed in writing, enjoy your favourite dishes, and recognise that the best costs (we did all four).

It looks beautiful inside but the service was just average and considering there is a mandatory service charge I would have expected the waitress to at least know that pesto has pine nuts in it however she only said I couldn’t have the Cajun meal for a nut allergy and said all deserts would be fine despite one having hazelnuts so I didn’t feel too comfortable with ordering anything that was not a basic option. Normally when I go to a restaurant the manager is brought over to at least get me to look through the allergy chart, even just to cover their own backs legally, but there wasn’t any of that. It’s a shame as I think the place looks stunning, a bit loud perhaps at 7pm, and I would have liked to go there again but I don’t trust the allergy advice now at all and really don’t want the risk of an anaphylactic shock :/

Was looking forward to a nice afternoon out and to support an independent place and this was ruined by lying, stand offish staff who come across as hating their job :( Food is average and overpriced for what you get. I won't return, plenty more lovely places to visit in MK who value their customers and go above and beyond.

After 10 minutes they finally agreed to honour this as we had already booked it. Although we did arrive 10 minutes late, we were told this was not an issue. We stated that we would start the brunch at 4.45 but they stated that they were happy to wait for our friend to arrive (who was still running late). Our friend arrived at 5.15 so we completely understood that the overall booking was late. We were fully prepared for them to have started the brunch at 4:45 and we expressed this to them at the time. However, as previously stated they were happy to wait for our friend. This later changed, when we were approached by the manager, not long after. She told us that we were late and that we needed to start because brunch had ended at 4!! Despite our booking not beginning until 4:30. The service though out the evening was particularly poor, specifically, I encountered several issues with the attitude and professionalism of the staff, in particular our waiter. Your website states that bottomless brunch lasts for 90 minutes. Around 15 minutes before our booking ended, we were told that we needed to leave because a family were waiting to use our table. As previously stated, we would have been happy to move as I am fully aware we were late. However, it felt as if the staff were trying to cause unnecessary problems as there were still 7 tables free around us. We then moved to the tables outside where we were sat for 50 minutes before any one joined our table. Obviously if our table was booked this is understandable but being told this many times took the enjoyment out of our experience. We finally collected the bill where we were surprised to see a £22 service charge for our shocking service. We asked the lady who served us to remove this due to the service and she, maybe understandably, asked why. We explained that the entire experience has been difficult. We spoke to the manager after this who came up to our table. We told her how we felt that communication was not clear at the restaurant. Whilst we understand we were late, we do not feel that the level of service should be compromised. I came here for drinks with my sister and we received such lovely assistance and hospitality from Jermaine He was so pleasant and friendly. He's an asset to this place. It's refreshing to go to a restaurant with such lovely staff

Went with my girlfriend and this place is extremely good. Definitely a perfect place for friends or a loved one which many options to choose from. The place looks absolutely phenomenal only thing is you just have to hope you don't sit next to the speakers as they are loud when you're near but from further away are excellent at adding some atmosphere.

Food was absolutely superb - from starters to mains; easily the best steaks we've had in Milton Keynes (with a heavenly red wine jus!). One small hiccup was that the chef mixed up the steaks; I'd ordered a medium-rare sirloin and my son ordered a medium-well ribeye ... but the sirloin was medium-well, and the ribeye medium rare! Both were delicious though, so we simply swapped. The young lady serving us was a bit on the abrupt side; efficient enough, but didn't exactly make us feel welcome ... which meant I wasn't really happy about paying the 12% service charge, but it wasn't worth making an issue about. Overall though was still an excellent dining experience and we'll be back.

Great cocktail variety, friendly and fast service. Really reccommend the seabass and piña colada. Not the best variety for vegetarians, but otherwise, a great selection!

Their food was good but the customer service wasn’t great. We were served food without cutleries and we had to keep walking inside to remind them of one thing or the other. Atmosphere was okay tho.

Good food, lovely decor and atmosphere with a DJ doing his magic. The place wasn't busy for a Friday night probably because they've been in service for not long, but the DJ and the decor/lighting counteract this. I love the concept.. eat/drink, chat, listen to good music and dance if you are bold 😄. Definitely recommend.

What a fantastic place! Food is cooked to perfection and so flavoursome. And the portion sizes are enormous fillet steak is twice the size you would normally expect and the lobster too. The service is second to none. Will definitely be coming back here. Wow! And thank you

First visit and would highly recommend - our waitress Georgia was great (to be honest all the staff were brilliant ) My starter and steak main were delicious 2nd visit - better than the first Joanne was amazing, Johnny walker was tasty but nothing compared to the amazing starter and steak again. This is my fav place to visit in MK for date night with my wife - highly recommend

Just to say a big thank you for the amazing service and food for my birthday party! Georgia was the main person dealing with our table and she was great! Friendly and there for all the requests we had. It was 14 of us, and everyone loved their food! Coffee was also good at the end. First time visiting and we’ll certainly be back! Loved the music, and the decor of the place too!

This afternoon, my girlfriend and I thought we would try something new. They are currently nominated for a Milton Keynes Food Award, and I am beyond amazed at how they managed to get nominated. I couldn’t think of a worse place to eat. The decor, the staff and the service were nothing but brilliant. The problem came when we had our food. I ordered a fillet steak for £35. As per the menu, this came with fries (bought in) and what resembled a salad. The meat, which I’ll now refer to as just that meat. I don’t believe it was a fillet. I asked for medium rare, but it was cooked brown throughout. I asked for peppercorn sauce in the hope that it might give it a bit of flavour. Sadly, it didn’t work. During this, I was oblivious that my girlfriend had ordered the seafood platter and was greeted with ice-cold mussels, meaty cold prawns, but some nice salmon and potatoes. We asked for the bill and said that the food didn’t meet our expectations, so they asked us to write a review rather than receive compensation for the food. After some conversation with the waitress, they removed the steak and were very helpful. I imagined this would be a brilliant place for drinks on a weekend, but there are 100 other places I’d put first in a list of where to eat in Milton Keynes.

Simona our server was amazing! Really attentive, knowledgable and friendly. The food was delicious. We had several different meals and we all raved about our meals. Will be back!! Cocktails are 10/10!

We were taking part in the Hub food tasting experience which was great fun. The Oligarch was our first visit and we were warmly greeted and looked after very well. The food was delicious and we will certainly be coming back.

Music was abit loud Food was ok Service staff was good! Simona was great in attending to us and very pro active. Good job❤️
