Lovely spot. You can book but you can also walk in. Great brunch but also great just for a drink. The hazelnut croissant is amazing and I've never tried anything like it. The staff are really attentive and the record store at the back is a lovely weekend activity. Kid friendly spot.

I hosted an afternoon tea at the Orpington in November as a baby shower for my sister and the event was perfect. The food and drinks were wonderful and the whole team went above and beyond for us, from adding cake toppers to the afternoon teas. to flexibility with space and timing. I can't recommend them highly enough and am excited to find another reason to celebrate something at this wonderful cafe. Truly somewhere special.

Great venue and environment! Staff are cool! But the food is severely overpriced for the quantity and quality you get. I paid around £19 for a cold falafel dish (do not recommend) with the Asian coleslaw side (which was fantastic!) however for that price I would just stick to tea or coffee and some snacks at the place for a cosy vibe.

I visited this café Sunday evening with my family. They were kind enough to accommodate and make space for us with 4 adults, a pram and a stroller despite being a small café and not having called/reserved prior. We were seated at the back besides the kitchen and we were not disturbed by any noise. Although the prices did seem fairly high on the main menu, I was pleased to see there were some cheaper options in the brunch menu. After reading they source their ingredients locally plus being an independent business I feel the prices are fair. My dad had a full English breakfast, my mum and cousin had the avocado on toast, they all thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the falafel sandwich which I did enjoy, the pickled onions were my favourite part but I felt the falafels could have done with more seasoning as I found them quite bland. This is partly my fault but I should have asked for the bread not to be toasted as I struggled to eat it as a whole sandwich and ended up dissecting it to eat, especially with the sourdough bread being thickly sliced. The staff were friendly, seemed happy and pleased with the service they provide which makes for a pleasant atmosphere. Overall, we all enjoyed our experience in this café and loved the record incorporation. - Amber

What a wonderful find, stands out in the crowd for sure. Amazing friendly service and fabulous cakes!

Felt like the staff were on edge and Scott was the only one who was allowed to take payment. Seemed like a lot of micromanaging and we felt on edge as customers. Staff were lovely but constantly being watched with what they were doing. Drinks were nice but were super over priced. Pastry came before hot drinks and so many staff !

Welcomed edition to the high street. Overall, the service and ambience was good. The food was tasty and although the prices are slightly higher than walnuts for example but they are worth it. This is a lovely fancier place to come and have a breakfast with the family and I will be back as they have Lunch and perhaps dinner. The owner Scott puts in a great effort to make sure everythng is perfect.

Actually the BEST brunch in Bromley and probably in South London. Great service and EXCELLENT coffee. Now open on Sundays and in the evenings. Totally recommended

Busy local independent restaurant, serving tasty, good quality grub in a relaxed atmosphere, with friendly service. Prices are a bit punchy it must be said, but we left full and satisfied, what more could you want. Keep up the good work OC&RS.

What a delightful place. Having records for sale in a cafe. The food I had was excellent as was the service.

Spent a little time here to have breakfast and work, so I used the back area which had a few comfy sofas and tables. The food was great, and served quickly, the music playing gave a great atmosphere and the service was attentive. Only downside was that it was quite busy so couldn't get anyone's attention straight away but you were always seen to after.

This was our first visit and We were fortunate enough to be allocated the private room at the rear of the cafe. The service was excellent. Everything was explained to us and advice given. The food and drinks (especially the freshly squeezed orange juice) were really good and nicely presented. Couldn’t fault anything we will definitely be going back.

The cost is a disgrace it’s Orpington high street not Knightsbridge! £8.50 for a slice of cake or brownie and £5 for a coke! Then it took 40mins just to get the cake. They were not busy had plenty of staff I have no idea why it took so long over priced will not go again!

Favourite breakfast place in Orpington by far! Everyone is super friendly, food is fantastic and Scott really goes the extra mile. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!

Try this place!!!Popped in to this cafe today. A bit different. Records at the end available for purchase. A lovely eclectic soundtrack playing in the backtground. Four of us sat down for a drink and desert. Due to the intrigue of the menu we decided to have a bite to eat there were two adults and two children in our group. We all got something to eat and everyone was satisfied!!! From full meals, to snacks, to lovely desserts. We spent far longer in there than we expected. The hospitality was great to, we felt like part of the family. Oh, Lovely coffee too!! Discounted set menus Monday to Friday.

Came here for brunch with my partner and it did NOT disappoint! Amazing service from Scott who made sure we were well looked after and gave us some recommendations. The food was second to none, and although pricier than other places on the highstreet it was definitely worth it - coffee was amazing too! Definitely a place for music nerds and coffee lovers (I’d recommend booking to make sure you get a table). We’ll definitely be back😄

We’re relatively new to Orpington and I visited this wonderful cafe today with my 2yo daughter. As soon as we walked in we were met with a warm and friendly welcome from the owner. My daughter was provided with a lovely colouring sheet and crayons, perfect activity for her! The food and coffee was absolutely delicious, so fresh and was obviously high-quality ingredients! My daughter’s ’baby ‘cino’ was presented so well and she even commented ‘just like Mummy’s’ 🥰 There was such a homely atmosphere and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We will defo be back! We’re so lucky to have this place on our doorstep.

What a wonderful find The Orpington is! Excellent service: attentive but not intrusive. Superb food: prepared to order, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. I loved the 80s music and flicking through the vinyl records. Noticed amazing looking cakes on the way out, so I will definitely be back very soon for afternoon tea!

My daughter took me here for Mother's Day celebrations today. The food and staff are excellent. Even though the restaurant was full and busy, we were looked after very well. Puts some other restaurants to shame both locally and in London. Highly recommend.

We went for dinner on Valentine's day which was a very enjoyable first visit to The Orpington. Scott and Amy both made us feel very welcome. Importantly, the food was exceptionally good and worthy of a high-end restaurant.

Very lovely and chic café. The atmosphere is nice and welcoming. Had a lovely lunch with my friend. The cocktails are very good too. The negroni tasted better than some I've had on other bars. Will definitely visit again

This place has been a regular lunchtime treat of mine for a while. The food is always top notch, there’s invariably great music playing while you wait but what truly sets it apart is the service. The staff will remember your name, what you like to order, make recommendations based on what you’ve had before. It’s always nice to be served with a smile but when staff can preempt your requests and without fuss make sure you’re getting exactly what you want, that is truly next level! Thanks very much guys!

What a wonderful place. We had the best almond croissant we've ever tasted - huge and filled with an amazing filling. I would have posted a photo of them, but there weren't any left at the counter! Service was top-notch, lovely atmosphere, and we enjoyed the really comfortable and stylish furniture. Would definitely come back, even though it's out of our way.

Wonderful place, the staff are attentive, professional, courteous, and caring. You will not find better cafe service, and there is a happy, easy and relaxed atmosphere - even the staff give off the feeling that they are happy to be there. The music is varied and ambient enough to provide an unintrusive background. The cafe itself is stylish, clean, and sectioned carefully to cater to multiple types of customer at once without overlap. Food and drinks are of a high quality, it may be on the pricier side for some but is worth every penny.

Excellent café, using great coffee from Workshop. Good food, too. Plus a decent selection of vinyl records to peruse and purchase. Not the cheapest place but very good quality.

We visited the Orpington for lunch after driving past quite a few times. The staff were very friendly and the food was great. A great addition to Orpington , our new regular! The record section is a great touch and we are excited to try the rest of menu!

Nice coffee but small & expensive for the size

Took my son for a birthday lunch with some of his toddler friends and their parents. Not the easiest crowd with toddlers on board but Scott and his team were absolutely lovely and efficient in catering for our big group. Food was delicious and atmosphere great. Will definitely be back and highly recommend. Thanks for a great lunch :)

I stumbled across this cafe/record shop while having a wander down Orpington high street. I had dropped my car off at a local garage for its MOT and took a stroll through the high street. Being a vinyl fan I couldn’t help but investigate. I wasn’t disappointed. Also, being one of those annoying people who doesn’t eat animal products I asked for something to eat to fit my diet and they were very accommodating. All in all a great experience. I shall definitely be returning when I get the opportunity.

Truly lovely cafe - best service we’ve experienced in years.. genuinely friendly helpful discrete. Food was good value, healthy, well cooked, tasty and nice touches - pleasant background music. Enjoyed perusing the LPs on sale.

Good coffee. We had sausage and a bacon sandwich. Bread was good bread but very thick. Struggled. The bacon was streaky and a bit too crisp. We sat next to coffee-making and the constant banging of the milk pot on the counter is really annoying and distracting. Staff lovely though.

What can I say other than brilliant! I first tried The Orpington just after it opened and today was my second visit (there wil be more regular visits now). Nothing has changed at all, the food is so much better than anything locally, simply delicious and Scott and his team are just so attentive and on the ball. I highly recommend the falafel sandwich, just perfect. A perfect meal served by perfect staff. You should be so proud of yourself Scott and what you have achieved. Please keep it going!

Love being At the O First port of call as soon as I could get there from Costa Rica. I really feel this place is special. Calm peaceful even when busy, professionalisim with a personal touch. Always a pleasure to eat at the Orpington. Took the whole family for breakfast this week and as usual the staff go above and beyond, even going out to get extra soya milk for my wife who is lactose intolerant. And my teenage boys thoroughly enjoyed thumbing through the vinyls.

I absolutely love this place. Great food, great coffee, great prices, friendly and helpful staff, unique atmosphere for the area and it’s got a fun addition of a record shop down the back, I love having a look through them when I’m waiting for my food. I can’t fault The Orpington, it’s the best cafe for far and wide.

My partner & I came in on Saturday 1st April. I ordered Eggs royale, my partner full English. We had to wait almost 40 mins for this. When the food arrived mine looked very unappetising, hardly any hollandaise sauce & not a lot of smoked salmon. My partners wasn’t much to write home about either. The bacon was hard, he couldn’t eat it. It was not worth the money. The only reason I ate mine was the fact I was starving having waited so long.

The food is delicious, the people there are lovely and it's cosy and comfortable inside. Highly recommended.

Lovely little coffee shop/cafe. The food is lovely quality and the service is great. Be aware that if you go mid afternoon there won't be any cakes or pastries left which is disappointing.

Really nice place to eat. Food is great (I left an empty plate) and well presented. The place is spotless, and the staff excellent and friendly. The added bonus are the records. Having a vinyl addiction, one can spend ages looking through the albums. If you're in Orpington, check out the Orpington, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

We had a fantastic late lunch @The Orpington. Such a great atmosphere with friendly, welcoming staff. My husband had the sweetcorn fritters and I had the salt beef sandwich. They were delicious, however the salt beef was well cooked, something different and still yummy! The desserts were amazing, Amaretto affogato and bread and butter pudding, made with chocolate croissants, very good. Everything was fresh and of great quality, we can’t wait to come back with friends! My only gripe was that it was a tad on the chilly side. Thank you for having us!

Lovely but rather pricey breakfast at this very popular café. Shame about the single glazing which made it rather chilly at our nice round table.

Recently moved to the area and by far out favourite spot :) will be coming more and more I am sure! Food is superb and the service great.
