We recently visited the Park View, and it was nothing short of amazing. The pub itself is absolutely stunning, but the Christmas decorations made it even more special. The food was phenomenal from start to finish. The crab linguine was an absolute highlight—fresh, flavourful, and wonderfully indulgent. The staff were incredible too - so attentive, friendly, and welcoming. They truly went out of their way to ensure our evening was perfect. Thank you!!

Friendly staff but food took a long time to come, at least an hour We were a group of 15 and had reserved our table. I enjoyed steak pie but gravy was watery. Friends say food isn't as good as it used to be. I liked the Christmas decor. Atmosphere could be improved with music. Happy we could bring in our dog.

Ordered on Uber eats and could get hold of anyone at the pub after waiting two hours for my order Placed at 7.30pm and 4 drivers later I can only assume they just closed and didn’t bother to tell anyone!! Absolute joke awful awful service as a local will never return or recommend

We made a booking for a large group of families on new year’s eve. The booking process was really easy and all the staff I spoke with were friendly and helpful. On the day, everything was perfect. The food came out exactly as we had asked and was delicious. We had a wonderful time and would like to thank all the staff for making things so brilliant.

We ordered the festive menu , vegan options were delicious and would highly recommend, apparently the turkey was super too Great choice of non alcoholic drinks , we would throughly recommend the park view at Christmas for the festive menu

Hate to give a bad review, but had a Christmas meal there as a group booking and was a really bad experience. Firstly we pre booked for a group of 10+, on arrival our tables were 3 separate ones, which wasn’t ideal, so we had to make shift and put them together. Then for a 3 course meal, each course took an hour to be served, even our server apologised when serving the mains, saying he was sorry the food was taking so long. And even when each course was served several people had to wait for their starters, mains and desserts. And sad to say as well but the food was poor, all the vegetables were undercooked, so was someone’s Turkey, the food was cold and some people’s mains were missing items, and when we asked about this, our server tried to say those missing items weren’t for that main, but the menu stated otherwise. We were lucky enough to get a partial refund, but for the state of the food and the night overall, I think we should have been offered a bigger discount. Also to include a £50 service fee and then someone from our party overheard our server bad mouthing us to another member of staff. So would say this pub is overpriced, terrible food and the professionalism of staff could be improved.

First time eating here and the food was tasty 😋 We had to wait a long time in-between course's We pre ordered Deep fried cauliflower amazing Sausage and mash good quality sausages but feel could have had a vegetable with it Chocolate brownie, ran out of adult brownie so had to have one of the kids ones (I think orders may have been slightly muddled with the kiddies in the party) was a little dry. Staff friendly and tried their best but feel they could have been a little more organised Felt very festive Despite a few hiccups was a lovely evening

The Park View is the closest pub to us when we stay in Brighton. It is adequate and has reasonable food and drinks. In warmer weather, there is a pleasant outdoor seating area. They have a reasonably broad selection of beer on tap, some stay the same while others change on a rotating basis. If you are having a meal there, I suggest you try their Haloumi fries or perhaps their Haloumi burger, both are excellent!

If you’re looking for a cozy spot, The Park View is a must-visit. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, you’ll feel like home from the moment you walk in. Service is friendly and attentive, and whether you’re popping in for a casual drink or enjoying a full Sunday roast with friends, you’ll always feel well taken care of.

After stopping in after a long day, stopped in for some dinner and had amazing service from jack who provided us with everything we needed and made sure we were comfortable, all in all a 5/5 experience

Me and the family came in for a roast and had a great time. Reece and Jack were very helpful and professional. We came at 2pm and had the sharer boards. We will definitely be back!

We visited on a Saturday evening for some food before returning to London, a large battered Haddock & chips with peas & tartar sauce was very well cooked and delicious. A rib eye steak and chips was the same, melt in the mouth. Sausage and mash along with a burger and chips all delicious and filling. Excellent staff at both the bar and waiting, courteous and professional. We are back again next month and will visit you again.....

The food was superb and all the guests commented on how good this was. We booked the Park View for a 50th birthday party recently and were really taken with the care and service we received. All the staff were amazing but a particular shout out to Lau, who was so attentive and made the night go really smoothly. He's a real asset to the place.

We booked the basement bar for my friend’s 30th birthday party. The hire price was super reasonable and exactly what we wanted to spend. The Park View team were so helpful from start to finish, the space was clean and ready for us to get in to decorate ahead of guests arriving. Would highly recommend for your function!

Relaxed atmosphere with extensive outside dining. Friendly and helpful staff. Good food - we had padron peppers, chorizo sausages as nibbles. Both excellent. We can recommend the hake, the mango salad and the cheeseburgers. The side salad was excellent too. I’d class this as above average for a modern pub.

We had the function room booked out for a work party - lovely buffet, pleasant service, and everything handled very efficiently both in advance and on the night.

I held my 60th Birthday in the function room. The place was everything I hoped for. The Staff were amazing, so helpful, friendly, accommodating. Couldn't not fault the whole experience from start to finish. Would recommend it to anyone. Lots of my guest remarked what a fantastic set up. Thank you guys..I'll be back. X Zina

This pub is very nicely situated near Preston Park. I was looking forward to a nice Sunday lunch. The service was quick and friendly. I had the roast Chicken. The chicken was over cooked and tough. The roast potatoes were bland and not really roasted. The veggies were the nicest thing on the plate. The Yorkshire pud was hard and tasteless. I could only manage to eat half and I wish that I hadn't . I was asked if I enjoyed the meal and I said no and explained why. I was offered a free drink but declined. I wasn't really that impressed. To top it off I witnessed employees in the corner have quick puffs of vape near the food hatch. Not nice at all. I prefer not having droplets of vape near my food. I have eaten there a few times before and the food was really nice but that was a couple of years ago. What a shame it was so disappointing.

We visited to celebrate a family birthday on Pride weekend - expecting it to be busy, which is was. The venue had great decorations, the staff were lovely and there was a great atmosphere with food and drinks readily available. Would definitely recommend.

Went here for a lunch break after having a trip down memory lane. Had a shandy and some chips and my server Kelly was awesome. When I told her I had lived in the area 50 years ago she say right down and asked me to tell her everything The chips were delicious with vinegar ( not typically served in US) and the shandy was perfect (no one knows how to make one in LA) The rhubarb apple crumble was soso and may not have been homemade. I will try the Sticky toffee pudding next time. The venue was cute and they had a great outdoor sitting area and the people were really nice. I would go again and again.

On the day we had help setting up, Kellie and other members of staff assured us that if we needed anything to just ask and they would be happy to accommodate. We are so grateful to everyone at the Park View. We held our engagement party here on Saturday and everyone truly went above and beyond for us. In the lead up to the event, the email communication was so helpful and on the day, nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing and generally an amazing time. Even our families commented on how wonderful and accommodating the venue was!

From the moment I entered the pub I got a warm friendly welcome. The staff were helpful and attentive. I booked the function room for my partner's 50th Birthday and they even offered to help me decorate the room. We had a buffet meal which was served quickly and food was tasty and plentiful.

Hired the space for my birthday party and had a great time at the venue. A huge shoutout and gratitude for the people at The Park View for having us and making my evening a very special one. My guests liked the food and service! Special thanks to Huw and team, who took care of my booking and made sure that the place was ready while we arrived. The venue was perfect for us - we booked the basement bar and it came with a terrace with seating, and we had a blast of an evening!

Nice large bar and restaurant, well layout out. Outside seating is nice too. Downstairs area looked a bit bare, but maybe that was because it was empty. I can’t stand TVs in bars - they ruin the atmosphere.

I watched the devilry man on my phone he did a complete full round trip he went down passed my home to London road then up to mousecombe any back to elmgrove then back to London road then after going back to were he started then down to my flat and my order was cold 🥶 i had to warm it all up i don't think that's right it should be hot when you get it that's why i had a takeaway

Pretty pub, used to be brilliantly run by a Lesbian Couple. Now...indifferent barstaff, bordering on rude, especially the man - ''nah, we've run otta that... nah, run outta that as well'. Small point, but if you're in a poor reception area, provide free internet as you can't sign up for sky when there's no service!!

Busy pub not the place for a quiet drink. Cubicle lay out by the bar gives it a cafe feel. Staff friendly.

We arrive early for our lunch today and shown to our reserved table. We were not told that we needed to order at the bar although there were 5 staff very nearby. We had to ask after waiting patiently for some time. When the roasts arrived they were plentiful and attractive. Both were swimming in gravy, I would have preferred a gravy boat to add to my taste. The roasted vegetables, carrots and parsnip were really hard, these need cooking a bit longer or sharper knives supplied. I had to leave them. The ladies toilets were horrible, two of the three had broken locks and the third had a lot of writing on the inside of the door with black marker pen. Being my local I would like this to be a superb pub to visit, with a few tweaks it could be. *** I wrote the above review yesterday after my visit. Embarrassing to read the reply from a staff member who obviously hadn’t read my review but just sent an inappropriate reply

My husband and I held our wedding reception at the Park View in January. We booked the downstairs room and bar, which was the perfect size for all our guests. We were really pleased to find a venue with disabled access, which 3 of our guests required. We highly commend the park view staff who helped and served us on the day: Reese, Ellis, Jade, Joe, Evie, Lau and a special mention to Huw who did a fantastic job of decorating and presenting our wedding cake made of cheese! It looked absolutely wonderful and made a perfect centrepiece. The buffet food was delicious and just the right amount for our guests. The park view staff were attentive and provided bespoke menu options for our guests with special dietary requirements. Above all, the staff were friendly, efficient and very welcoming. They helped to make our special day brilliant. Thank you! All in all the park view was the perfect venue for us and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming, lovely space to hold their party/event/celebration.

Downstairs was absolutely freezing, the radiators wernt on and even with our coats on the kids mentioned its probably warmer outside under the heaters. Starters chicken were really greasy and the kids schnitzels tastes like fish as though they are fried with the fish. Yuk. My pie was a massive disappointment. The veg was a pile of over cooked cabbage. That's it. No seasoning just like my Nan cooked in the 70s. The pathetic pool of mash was soggy and lifeless. The pie was ok absolutely not worth £17. Never again.

The Sunday lunch we enjoyed at The Park View was excellent. The food is cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. A thumbs up to the bar and serving teams, who were really professional and friendly. The fish and chip meal I ordered was absolutely top notch.

Came in to the Park View today (our favourite local pub) for a chicken roast. The kids have been looking forward to a hot meal all week and it definitely made their year. Thank you Park View, especially Ellis Mason.

A short walk from our Airbnb with a great view of Preston Park. All four of us enjoyed our evening meals and there was a good range of drinks on offer. Service was friendly and the whole evening was very relaxing in this pub which a casual and pleasant atmosphere.

Went with friends for dinner. Food was average, beer nice. Went to bar for drinks only served with food. Amazed that tried to add 10% service charge without our knowledge. There was no service this is a public house not a restaurant. We obviously refused to pay this service charge. Disappointing.

Midway through Christmas shopping we decided to treat ourselves to a Sunday lunch and it was the best we've had for a long while. Had the special roast lamb and it was incredible. Everything cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully. Incredibly good value for money too with a beautiful atmosphere

Rainy Sunday fancied a road and walk over to the park view. Was quite busy and booking is recommended but they found a table and had an amaizing lunch! I had the slow pork roast and it was so tasty and nice! We will definitely be back!

Atmosphere was nice but drinks are too expensive. £9.00 for a pint of Neckoil and a pint of lime and soda! I wish I’d paid attention to the bill before I paid.
