The Pastry Parlour in Tower Hamlets

Hola, este es uno de mis lugares favoritos para un café por la mañana y pasteles en el barrio. Los eclairs au chocolat en particular son mis favoritos. Sin embargo, mi único comentario sería que los cruasanes solían estar más frescos y sabrosos hace un par de meses, no estoy seguro de si cambiaste algo en la forma en que los estás horneando.

I really want to like this place as it is in a great location and i’d rather give my money (even if it is overpriced) to a local business than the amazon, pret, costa and starbucks all within walking distance. However the atmosphere in their is so uninviting and the staff clearly don’t want you to be there. The signs everywhere saying what you can’t do in the shop is overkill and i got no hello, how can i help or thank you whenever i’ve visited. I feel like they don’t want the custom…. The coffee’s are hit and miss and for the price (£4.60 for an iced latte) you would want them to be great! Small gripe but I am vegan and there is no attempt at providing any suitable food or labelling any dietary restrictions on their food. Overall either hoping it goes under new management or they give up the space to a company who are welcoming to the community.

The male staff is the worst! I ordered a pastry but when he handed it to me, the pastry fell off. I got upset while standing there. He looked at me still for so long and finally said, “this is what you get when you play on your phone holding the food” I was so PISSED OFF. He acted like this is completely my fault…Didn’t expect this man to do anything anyway but his attitude is completely unacceptable. I don’t know how he got the job. Seemed like he didn’t care about having this job or not, and of course he will not care about his customers! Worst experience at a cafe. Not worth it.

Merveilleuses viennoiseries, les meilleures croissant et pain au chocolat que j’ai mangé. L’acceuil sympathique. N’accepte que les cartes comme beaucoup d’endroits à Londres.

Visiting London and stayed nearby, stopped off here for tea and the most delicious salted caramel cheesecake EVER! Went in a few days later and the lovely man serving remembered us, He was lovely 😊 Great customer service and the cakes and earl tea are to die for!! Will definitely come back if we are ever in that area again 😊

The only thing they have food are the pastries. The atmosphere is very tense. The staff is not friendly or helpful at all, and they have so many “don’t do this” warnings and limitations on how you can use the space that it becomes super uncomfortable. It seems like they are doing you a favour by serving you.

As the headline indicates: they offer the best coffee in London. Very cozy in there, plus you get delicious stuff - I recommend the strawberry tart. It's definitely pricey, but they make everything fresh in the kitchen behind the counter. I actually think it's reasonable for central London. Staff was always friendly. Love this place, and I'll come back as often as I can.

First time going to the Pastry Parlour today in the afternoon, and was hoping for some form of all-day breakfast, as it states in their window that they do 'Breakfast/Lunch'. After getting a fairly sulky greeting from the two staff behind the counter (from seeing other reviews on here, I'm not the first to say this), I asked what sort of thing they do for breakfast, and is that still available in afternoon, as it says in the window that they do breakfast. Incredibly, the male staff member came out from behind the counter, walked out to the door and asked me to go with him, outside, and "Show me where it says breakfast". I said to him, are you winding me up now mate, and he said "No, really, I'm not". So I couldn't believe it, but I went outside and pointed to where it says "breakfast" in their window, as he asked me to do. In the moment, I couldn't process what was going on, but I went with it. When I got back inside, I told his colleague that he'd made me point to something that's in their own window, and that I couldn't believe he did that, and then he was like, "I'm sorry ,sir". Whatever. I was still starving, so then the female staff member showed me they had breakfast muffins with bacon, egg etc that looked really good - I said I'd have one. I also wanted some of their croissants/other pastries that looked good. The guy started on unwrapping and heating up my muffin, at which point I said, actually sorry, but I'm going now, I'm getting all bad vibes in here, thanks anyway. The lady said "It's ok, don't worry", as if she understood. However, neither of them were especially friendly in the first place. This is up there with some of the most unbelievable treatment I've ever experienced as a customer of any eaterie anywhere in the world, and I really wonder if they want customers, or if we are just pure inconvenience to them. I was about to buy a lot of things from them and would have been a repeat customer here, if it wasn't for this astonishingly aggressive and hostile attitude that was shown to me when I went in there being very polite and just asking what sort of breakfast things they had.

Great coffee and very friendly stuff. Plenty of seats. Some of the best pastries I’ve had in London. I do here on a regular basis now. The area around the cafe is also very nice and quiet.

Popped in here for a coffee on the way to the nearby cinema. Very nice latte served by the friendly staff. No complaints at all.

Simply delicious! This place offers a wide range of nice pastries and desserts. It is also very clean.

I live in the area and come here very regularly, sometimes just for a take-away coffee on my way to work, and sometimes to sit in, to enjoy one of the cakes or pastries, or a savoury snack (am slowly working my way through your selection and am enjoying every bite). The coffee and the service are consistently brilliant - there is always a friendly word and smile from the team; and the pastries and cakes are delicious. Well done guys for staying open, if only for take-aways, in these crazy Covid-19 times - you are keeping my spirits high (and you are also keeping my sugar and caffeine levels maintained at acceptable levels). Szép es igazán finom desszerteket lehet kapni. Kávék is finomak. Kellemesen lehet az étteremben beszélgetni.

Business lunch bought and taken back to the office. Everything looked so beautifully presented and inviting - spent ages trying to choose what to have! Ham and cheese baguette with apple chutney won and I wasn't disappointed. The individual lemon meringue for mid afternoon went down well too. Quite looking forward to having to go back to the suppliers for another meeting!

Had a lovely fresh croissant here, nice and friendly staff and tables outside as well as inside. Nice place to pop in.

I love pastry parlour and think both their coffee and croissants are some of the best in London. I would give them 5 stars if only they would offer an egg only option in the morning. I don’t eat red meat, so if I want a sandwich, i have to order a sausage and egg muffin but ask that they remove the sausage. It’s a small thing but if offered an egg only option, it would really make this place perfect for me.
