Apart from grest value, always ean, tidy and comfortable. If only they had some background music.

Decent enough food for the price.Competative alcohol prices and pleasant staff.Do not go there if you want a relaxed and quiet ambience.You get value for money if that's for people on a tight budget.

Great staff, good food and drinks at really decent prices. Service is always good and quick. Table service via app orders is always a winner.

It's my goto. Good food, warm, fast friendly service, tv, WiFi and of course good selection of beverages

Thought I would be ok with scrambled egg on toast as it's hard to duck that up .but I was wrong it was warm and the toast was under done itwas almost bread and butter.

Breakfast is excellent value, great service nice and clean and warm on cold mornings

For many years for many reasons I've been anti Spoons. The one thing they have is a commitment to real cask ale and value for the customer. This spoons in Ricky is excellent. Visited many times and various times of day and always good. This was the Spoons that turned me around and shedding the spoons stigma 😁🍺👍✌️

Food is nice and atmosphere was good they had the football on a bit too loud but all good fun. Henry was very chatty and kind 😊

Ordered drinks. 2 Guinness, 4 sumo and a Madri. Simple. I paid for my order. The girl serving (i think she may have been the manager), poured 3 sumo then went and took a phone call. Once she had finished the call she went outside the front of the pub for a few minutes. Possibly smoking as when she came back she walked straight to the far end of the bar and Ordered herself a drink which she then sat drinking. I kept looking over and she kept looking back but nothing happened. I managed to get the attention of another barmaid who went and spoke to her who came back and said she had served my drinks and is now on a break. We back and forthed politely with her going back to the manager/barmaid then came back and served another sumo. I said there still two Guinness and a madri. She said one of the lads that was serving had served the madri. I haven't received it I said. She then walked to the other end of the var where it had been placed in the corner then walked it back to me. I asked for the two Guinness. She went back to the original server they had a chat and she then began pouring the Guinness. Ive never known anything like it. Going for a break half way through pouring around then leaving it. This what happens when you have children running a bar. The who place is also full of coked up idiots bowling about with attitude. I wouldn't bother coming here, it's a shambles.

Had a slight problem with one of our meals but it was sorted without fuss.

Great pub, fresh food and value for money like at most Wetherspoons. Hope those pubs prevails next 5, 10 or more years- despite constant challenges, added restrictions and taxes on pubs- especially from so called progressive politics and rapid changes in UK demographic who are less interested in traditional pubs culture.

I was served a good Wetherspoon breakfast and 3 well presented beers during their beer festival.

Lovely Large Breakfast and 4 pints of real ales, that was exceptional. Great job by all staff at The Pennsylvanian!!!

Great place to stop off and refresh yourself with good food and drinks to choose from at an extremely reasonable price. Everything is very clean here. No sticky tables, flooring, and loos. It is an ideal stop off point to meet friends, or just take time out for yourself, especially when you have had long uncomfortable hearing tests at the clinic. I do remember Rohit (kitchen team member) who kindly brought a slice of lemon and tartare sauce for my fish dish. The only downside is that the toilets are upstairs like most Wetherspoon pubs

Absolutely awful food today ... stone cold breakfast... tomatoes raw... no butter in the entire restaurant.... was barely edible. Unhelpful manager with a couldn't care less attitude and pushed the blame back on to the customer 🙄.... someone need some customer service training I think.

Typically bland Wetherspoon's chain eaterie. Often a group of drunk kids/pensioners shrouded in a cloud of vape and smoke obstructing the doors and pavement, who are too self-important to move aside to let you by. Terrible Guinness. Below standard food. "Cheap booze!" in God's waiting room. Racist terminology used by a group of old people on my last visit. Broken glasses often on the street outside, along with bottles and other detritus left by this place's selfish "clientele." Please don't have the misfortune of visiting here! Desperate times...tried the food again, not quite hot enough, followed by a night of diarrhoea. Sullied myself again tonight. Why do I lower myself to below the gutter? The most exciting thing about this excuse for a pub is the wobbly table (no beer mats available for correction).

We had brilliant food there today! Steak and kidney pudding, mashed potatoes, mushy peas and red wine gravy! Mixed grill! Both were brilliant! Highly recommended . .

Was amazing experience visit this place with some friends and relatives, per sure I will back again. Can't wait for it....

Harry, Pat, Sarah, Lucy and John are a constant which makes this wetherspoons a destination location for the franchise. They’re the best people in the world to deal with and special mentions go to Aaron too before he goes to the new Marlowe location!

Best Wetherspoons pub I’ve visited. Having been to a few across the country this one clears them all. Never had a problem and I doubt I ever will.

Always cold they have the air conditioning on all the time when you come in when it's wet weather it's cold even on nice days , and your food gets cold usually before it's in front of you, such a shame as it's out favourite place, we even used it on our wedding day

I came into the pub with friends today. I was greeted with a smile from the lady on the bar. The service was great, the staff helpful and patient . The food came quickly and was delicious.. The premises was clean and tidy, especially the toilets and it was a really good experience. Will definitely be back .

Travelled down to see family and we stopped in to have breakfast. The staff were very polite and the food was delicious. And served quickly too! Would definitely come back in the future!

We had a family get together meal here, two tables put together, service was good & food was alright, prices are always good at Wetherspoons. Parking is almost non existent outside, there were only 2 bays free & one for disabled badge holders only, we just got a space as another car was pulling out. Others had to drive & park away somewhere else local & short walk back. Toilets are upstairs although they have one for disabled downstairs which is good

We like this place for a quick inexpensive meal or a cuppa.

Worst customer service I have ever encountered! Had food and drink which was serviced quickly but slightly undercooked. The issue we had was the express martinis we ordered after food were so bad we couldn’t drink them….tasted like cold water can instant coffee! We ordered to cocktails and as they were bought to the table mention the martinis were really bad and the barman/manager was so rude said they are fine and nothing wrong with them but it was clear to see they were watery and truly awful! Didn’t refund or apologies was rude and refused to even listen l! My guess was he knew which is why he was so defensive !

Excellent value for money as always with Wetherspoons. Great menu. Good quality food and service and all at fantastic prices along with a good British pub feel and decor. I particularly love their acknowledgement of history in calling this pub, 'The Pennsylvanian'. 'Spoons' are indeed a great British institution.

The pub was very busy as it was Friday night. However pur food came quickly and tasted good

I can honestly say that everytime we come here, the food is always piping hot, cooked really well ( the fish is just a crunchy battered delight) and the staff are always friendly and helpful. This is just how pubs should be and other places could learn a lot from the Wetherspoon ethos. The team at The Pennsylvanian are doing a sterling job and that's the reason we go there regularly.

Drug taking & drug dealing in the men's toilet on a Friday night, is this really the image that Wetherspoons want?? Is this really the Rickmansworth that the locals want?? I think not!! Stamp this out Wetherspoons before you lose your license!!

It was a satisfying meal with a good taste. The environment was not very clean. It was a classic British Pub atmosphere. If I were to come again, I would book somewhere else in advance and go there.

Great place, great prices and lovely calm atmosphere. Buy one hot drink and fill up free as much as you want!

Hello guys. I love this place but please please please change the cleaning products you use at the bar. It’s really bad and smells like sick and unfortunately makes us not want to come in as much. I have spoken to a few people who go and they feel the same. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Was going to come for quick cheap bite to eat yesterday.. but wow the smell of piss that hit you at the stairs was over powering.certainly off putting. it's not normally like that.. .

This is a historic building with a pub with a nice atmosphere and better than average food and service within Wetherspoons Group

Interesting pub, architecturally. Would have stayed for a second beer but about 200 football fans turned up and my train was due...

Food was good but average to any other Wetherspoon. We received dirty cutlery, so we have to ask for those to be replaced.

Nice burgers and decent portions. Ordering is easy using the app and meals arrive quickly. Can recommend the fish and chips. Cooked well and lovely taste. Cheeseburger, chips and a drink for £5.50...! Can't complain about that!

Ordered from the Xmas menu which is always such good food for the money… the chips were undercooked and when the staff were informed a full refund of the meals was issued. Brilliant customer service!!

Cheap and cheerful as you would expect from a Spoons. A lot better atmosphere compared to the one in Watford town centre. Slightly disappointed to see no rocket or basil leaves on the vegan BBQ jackfruit pizza though.

Standard spoons, misunderstanding about our food and my meal was missing an item but it was fixed quickly.

I would normally give at least a 4 star review for a Wetherspoons outlet, but the Pennsylvanian seemed a little tired and grubby. The food was, as usual, good value, but the portions seemed smaller than usual for a Wetherspoons. Spacious pub, but a bit dim and a feeling that this pub has seen better days.

Spur of the moment decision , great food atmosphere and service, open at 8am which is great.

This might be my favourite Wetherspoon's. I like to come here after a country walk in the district and I always find it a pleasant and relaxing place.
