Lovely place under amazing management, with nice fast service. My go to pub in holbeach!

This pub is just what you need after a hard week at work… a proper little cosy, warm, friendly atmosphere. I have eaten here a few times while watching Jordan perform and I can say the menu has so much to offer.. I personally love a good burger! So I always opt in for “the red lion burger” and oh my… so mouthwatering! The chips I couldn’t even finish just as the burger itself was such a good portion! Myself and all my partners family enjoy eating here and all have nothing but good things to say about it even when we get home. The prices are right on point, not too overpriced and good value for the money you spend. I’ll be booking many more dinners ahead at this pub. Can I also just say… Alex and his team are amazing, so friendly, talkative, hardworking and they all look so happy in the workplace. Can never fault this pub. Moving up from Kent we wondered if we would ever find a good pub… and didn’t we just! Best in Spalding/holbeach by far!

Awful place. Tries to be upmarket but buy all the white label stuff from butchers and then sell it as 'premium'. Awful service, over priced, literally every other pub in holbeach is better. Avoid. If you order chips, I hope you enjoy all three of them. Far to much for a grown adult. And £2 for extra for a teaspoon of beans. Avoid

This is definitely the nicest pub I have ever walked into, amazing vibes not only does it look professional, but the atmosphere is just amazing, The staff are fantastic at the jobs, always kind and smiling no matter how quite or how busy the are The food is to die for, I think this is the best pub around Holbeach and I would say the whole of Lincolnshire.

What can I say extremely impressed by this venue. Fantastic owner who provides first class customer service and his staff have clearly been instilled with impressive work ethic which amounts to nothing but the best customer service. The chefs do a really great job with the food with succulent flavoured food. My personal favourite was the steak which left me feeling very satisfied. The atmosphere is very welcoming one. I was very impressed by the bouncers who make sure everything runs smoothly. We had a really good conversation and learnt that they work for a security company called HLS. Their professional attitude and caring nature coupled with their expertise in safeguarding customers in the venue make this the number one spot to dine out in holbeach and arguably the best place in the whole of Lincolnshire. I cannot fault this place and would highly recommend anyone to visit this place if they would like a good time. I don't tend to right reviews but couldn't help myself with this place because I don't want others missing out on such a great venue.

Enjoyed a lovely Christmas day lunch here, food was superb fautlessly cooked, staff attentive and friendly. The cosy feel of a traditional inn a short walk from the centre of town. As I was flying solo this time the welcome and friendly inclusion made my day complete. Thank you Alex and your team this is far and away the best place to eat within a 20mile radius. I might well see you for a Sunday lunch before I move "up north" !

Recently widowed flying solo, I decided to have my Christmas day lunch here A friendly welcome a traditional cosy inn and the best food give this place absolutely top rating within a wide radius. Food served with a smile perfectly cooked beautifully presented with no rushed courses. Alex spent his time to engage in conversation when it was clear things were hectic and all the staff were efficient and kind. Haven't stayed in the hotel but with a short walk to the town and being an ideal stopover to or from Norfolk off the A17 I would highly recommend it!

Visited for lunch today, meeting family as good half way point for us all. We had a lovely time! Pleasant decor and nice food, really friendly and attentive staff! Five stars 🤩 would come again

Had yet another fabulous dinner at The Red Lion, Holbeach. The food is absolutely delicious and reasonably priced for such quality. The staff are friendly, helpful, attentive and just lovely. The owner is welcoming and remembers your face when you visit. The music and ambience of this place is amazing. I can't praise this venue high enough.

If you are staying in this area, this pub is definitely the one you want to stay at. The rooms are lovely very spacious, clean and comfy. Nice warm room. Not to mention the food at the pub is very very reasonably priced and very tasty. They do great burgers for £10 on certain nights and steaks. Must stay!!! Was great to stay at in Holbeach as it’s right in centre and Spalding is 20 minute drive. Staff are lovely

Our first time here, so impressed, wonderful food and the staff were so friendly especially Arwen it was her 2nd day, being a newly recruited member of staff, she was so pleasant and attentive, well done Arwen,, atmosphere really cosy with live music, when we see our friends again we will be back

Stayed here for 5 nights while being at uni for the week, the room was fantastic, the food was superb and the service was phenomenal. Really enjoyed my stay and would 100% recommend for anyone staying in the area and I’m hoping to be staying again next time I’m at uni.

Great food, Great cocktails, Great staff ..

Quality of the food and service is well above the cost. A quality meal on the "grill night" menu which I would've been happy paying double. Clueless as to why the restaurant was so quiet on this particular night. If I was local, I certainly would make grill night and any other night a regular occurrence.

Had a lovely meal, good sized portions and very tasty. Service with excellent, not rushed but very attentive. We will definitely be back.

Only in the area for 3 nights but visited twice. Food, staff, atmosphere totally wonderful, can't wait to visit again.

Stayed here for four nights, really enjoyed it, very clean and lovely chalet. Had food one night which we found to be excellent. Would certainly recommend.

What a rare find. Lovely place and great staff. Whilst we were initially disappointed not to have the full menu as it was a theme night. However, the food on the grill night was really good and reasonably priced. We would recommend to anyone you will enjoy a visit.

At time not busy bar staff slow did not acknowledge when standing was chatting and making drinks in a very unprofessional way instead of getting the job done then was told someone would serve in a moment did not stay as was told closing early needs a better atmosphere and staff training

I had an amazing birthday Saturday night here. We had an excellent meal, I always have the steak and have NEVER been disappointed! Super star entertainment with Scott as 'Robbie Williams' and an ensuite room where the bed was just so comfy to wake up the next morning feeling more than rested!! Thank you to all the attentive and brilliant staff at the Red Lion! We will be back!!

Visited for the first time today to have lunch with my partner . We were not disappointed ! The food was amazing and the restaurant , toilets and outside space were immaculate. We were very impressed and the young lady who served us was very friendly and professional ! We will definitely be back !!

Excellent early evening meal with grandchildren. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Children's menu available too. Really friendly staff. Definitely be back next time we are in this area. Note that there is no car park but plenty of on street parking outside and nearby.

This is an awesome establishment, with some very happy, smiley, and helpful staff. We will definitely be going back for food in the immediate future as what we see looked very nice indeed.

Amazing local pub. The food isn’t your typical pub grub it’s way nicer! We’ve been here on New Year’s Eve for the Elton John tribute too which was amazing..busy and great atmosphere. Drinks are lovely, so is the male who I assume is the owner..best pub in holbeach

Alex and the team are welcoming and hospitable and it is such a nice environment with live music most weekends Different themed food menus are good value - burger night, grill night, fish & chip night as well as a la carte and Sunday lunch menus, the #1 place to go in Holbeach by far!

Couldn't believe the roast dinner we was served up yesterday. It took 70 minutes to come, and to say we were disappointed is an understatement. Everything was burnt. The roast potatoes (one was hollow) and parsnips were rock solid and almost black and a struggle to cut through. The carrots were such a weird brown colour they looked like sausages . The only decent parts were the stuffing & meat ,we did get complimentary desserts, but in all honesty, we came for a roast, not a dessert . I really felt bad for the waiter's having to deal with multiple complaints from quite a lot of people, but they handled it like pros.

Once again, a great evening. The food was exceptional, and the service impeccable. Robbie was absolutely amazing, creating the atmosphere for a fun filled evening. The staff are an absolute credit to Alex. Looking forward to the next one 😀

Sat waiting for an hour for our food as they had to go and get more fish!! The Thai chilli beef was average, the two chicken and mushroom pies that were ordered were more like a Yorkshire pudding not pastry, filled with dry chicken and no sauce. These last two were presented on a slate so had to ask for proper plates to enable the gravy ( charged as as an extra as were the peas!!) to stay on the plate!! A second bottle of white wine came out at room temperature and we were told we could have it for free, not offered an alternative cold one. No ice in the ice bucket to even cool it down! All in all a disappointing evening in what used to be probably the best pub in Holbeach. Won't be revisiting in a hurry sadly.

Ive stayed here for work recently, coming from London my expectations of nightlife are high haha, and Saturday here is amazing…. Live music and drinks flowing.. it’s such a lovely wholesome place, like a self catering apartment , thank you to Millie for your hospitality!

We met with a friend for social catch up. Delightful pub and very friendly staff. The interior was very nice and enough spaces between tables. The food was very good and value for the money. Staff very attentive and friendly. Would revisit.

Very good food and atmosphere. We had a group booking and everything went well and we all enjoyed our evening. We went on the grill night, Wednesday, which was very good.

Awesome atmosphere. Fantastic food. Amazing cocktails and superb staff. We were meant to be attending a cocktail masterclass at Ohana in Holbeach. After paying for the experience, we turned up at our booked time to find the bar closed and in darkness. It turns out that Josh from Ohana had forgotten about our booking so we ventured to the Red Lion who found us a table to eat and we enjoyed our night out. We had the best time. The manager and staff were attentive and we couldn’t fault the food. Could not recommend the Red Lion highly enough! Thank you and we will return. Between us all we reckon we spent circa £500. Too bad Ohana that you didn’t give a hoot about us ! Your loss ! Thanks Red Lion !!! Blinking fantastic !!

Excellent room, comfortable spacious and clean. The staff are kind and accommodating, and the restaurant does great food. The room could do with a microwave for when the restaurant is closed but that's the only criticism I have.

This has been our local for the last few years, always had great service from Alex and the team , always a great atmosphere , food is always top notch , never had any complaints with the quality of food … we love going for cocktails and to the tribute act nights and just to have a few drinks and relax … the team always make us feel welcome

Great pub/restaurant from the minute we walked in, we received a lovely warm welcome from staff, which carried on through the evening. The menu had and our food was delicious. And being a Saturday night there was live music. "P!nk" she was very good. All in all great eve. Thanks Red Lion.

We have always been welcomed by Alex and the team since he took over the Red Lion a few years ago … great atmosphere, fab team , just the place we go to for a fab Sunday roast , cocktails, for a great music tribute act on a Saturday night or just to relax with a few drinks 👌🏻❤️

Was disappointed, had heard good things about the food. Table of 6 had to wait over an hour, was not packed in there ,. When we did receive food mine was cold and 2 others where warm . Was expecting better .

Me and my husband went to the grill night and wow it was amazing. We had the mixed grill for 2, the food was delicious and perfectly cooked, presentation was 10 out of 10, the staff were all really friendly and professional. Our evening was perfect and I highly recommend going for and evening out and a cocktail or 2 🍸🍸

Went for a meal only. Not typical pub grub! It was excellent. Pics show paté on sourdough (I think), with blackberries and small onions. The other pic shows pork belly. Very well done and presented.

Recently went for a last minute Sunday roast with 2 of us vegans. Meat eaters and Vegans were both welcomed with great options and lovely service. Staff were friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was pleasant and warm. Would deffo come again if in the area.

We had booked a table for mother's day yesterday. Nice pub and staff, but the food was terrible. We all had 3 course meal the starters was bland tasteless greasy, the main was a posh roast, but we couldn't cut through the beet and pork the 3 roast potatoes was raw, 2 long carrots was rock hard and 1 little steam of broccoli which was placed on the top of the dish was over done and looked rotten. The stuffing ball had not been cooked just rolled up and put on the plate the gravy was like tasteless water. We are very pleased we did not get to eat the dessert.

Fabulous Sunday lunch. All 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed it. The meat was just perfect along with everything that went with it. Couldn’t fault it whatsoever. Warm friendly welcome, service was excellent for the entirety of our time spent there. We will Definitely be returning.

Such a welcoming cosy pub, friendly staff and The food tastes amazing, you can tell they use very good quality ingredients, my favourite was the steak, done just how I like it. We also had a cheeky cocktail or two.

This is such a lovely place , and highly recommended , we decided to have dinner , a date night , to round off a long week , we were made to feel so special , lovely welcome , friendly staff , very attentive , beautiful atmosphere,, and all this was before the food. The steak was some of the best I’ve tested and I washed it down with some amazing cocktails , this is a real gem we will be back , thank you all , top class

Attended the red lion on New Year’s Eve with family and and was welcomed with happy and bubbly staff, when offering the tickets I informed them that myself had dietary requirements which they catered for , the atmosphere was 2nd to none I will definitely be back new year

This venue is amazing. When so many hospitality businesses are suffering and pulling back to save on costs. The Red Lion roared again on New Years Eve. Tickets were a great price bearing in mind the food was simply outstanding. There are buffets and buffets this was one hell of a buffet. The mini Turkey pies were to die for. Yes it was busy but you would expect that on New Year’s Eve, you don’t normally go to an event like this to sit down you go to Party which is exactly what the Red Lion provided. Excellent drinks just wish they could extend. The team are very professional and although exhausted did a great job in keeping us all fed and watered. Well done guys Happy New Year to you all.

Waited 30 minutes for a menu and even then the waitress was impolite, the food is basic and well over priced I don’t recommend

TAKING ADVANTAGE OF DISABLED CUSTOMERS! Booked and paid for tickets for New Year’s Eve at £30 each. Needed to have a seat because one of us was disabled so asked if they could reserve a seat. Was amazed and disgusted at the response “ can’t guarantee you one but…money talks” followed by “£20 each” We were charged £80 to reserve the 4 seats because one person was disabled on top of the £120 for 4 tickets for what was at best, an average night! Excellent singer, however the food was really poor with very little choice and the variety of drinks was abysmal! By 11pm they had absolutely no cider and the choice of spirits was worse than a pop up bar. Half the staff clearly didn’t want to be there, all adding upto a less than friendly welcome and atmosphere.

Alex and team provide a first class service. Excellent surroundings and ambience, combined with professional service and exemplary food. We had a wonderful meal. Everything top notch. Thanks!

Family birthday dinner. Lovely atmosphere. Attentive staff and excellent food. The portion size is just right so that you can enjoy three courses without feeling over full. Quality of the food is outstanding for a small town restaurant.

Love this place! The food is always exceptional, staff professional but really friendly and helpful. Live music adds to the experience and we have seen many acts here. We will be enjoying New Years Eve here again this year , but before then shall revisit with friends in a couple of weeks time. We have held birthday parties there over the last couple of years and never been disappointed. After having surgery, they were very accommodating to my challenging dietary needs. The Red Lion is perfect for all celebrations and family get together and meals - oh - and their cocktails are delicious too!

Visited with a friend during a day off, had cocktails and Camembert by the fire which was really nice. Was quiet on a Sunday night which was also nice for a catch up with an old friend. Thank you to the girls on duty for making us feel so welcome.

We went to this pub for a meal before a wedding and had a great time. Delicious food (especially the mushroom starter) and great staff. Wine was decent too! Would definitely recommend.

We went to the red lion for my partners birthday, the food was mediocre at best considering the price and the menu was very limited. The atmosphere was ruined by dim lighting and loud punters on a table nearby swearingloud enough for our table to clearly hear, I would not recommend. The only plus side was that the waitresses were very friendly and outgoing.

The pub is OK, the food is average and the service is slow. Vegetarians have an option of 1 meal, the fish that was the fish and chips was watery but the chips were nice. The sticky toffee pudding was remarkably like chocolate fudge cake and no custard available. The lighting in the pub made the place gloomy. All in all it was an average meal

Beautiful food, so tasty! We visited on a Saturday night when there was a live singer, although it was a little loud it enhanced the atmosphere. We were told when ordering that service would be slow as there was only one chef working. Staff kept us informed and provided some free drinks. The food was amazing and well worth waiting for.
