Picturesque pub in the heart of hillingdon village. A mix of locals and professionals. They accept the Hillingdon card for 10% discount Monday to Thursday... I think. Don't forget to ask as they won't suggest it! The menu has an array of dishes to suit all occasions, including a quick bite. It's not the cheapest place around but a perfect setting. Perfect place to order a takeaway from the village fish and chip shop over the road (please see its review for more detail) Very dog friendly

Stayed for 2 nights at this hotel, the room was very good, however, the MANAGER on Sat evening 30th Nov was extremely rude, he sharply told us 'The bar was closed' after just serving lots of people. We stated we were residents, and were still told bluntly 'NO' we even offered to take our drink to our room, still told 'NO' and he walked away. There were a group of youngsters at a table with full pints of beer, so he obviously had a problem with serving us. He was very dismissive and rude, which was a shame as we have lots of family who stay there twice a year - so this will not longer be happening. We also spent a lot of money there after taking a group of people there for a family meal. Shame this is the way we were treated. VERY DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMER

Incredibly charming. Wish we had more time to stay. We only stayed due to a layover at Heathrow. But loved the hotel. We couldn't enjoy the Pub or breakfast, but the hotel has lots of characters, plenty of bus options (and Uber). Looks like a great outdoor beer garden. And the staff was friendly. The rooms were comfortable and had great products (bath, cookies, etc)

I love this pub. I had an executive double - very comfortable (and quiet) and well supplied with good coffee, chocolates, biscuits - and in the fridge fresh milk +bottled water. Breakfast was good and the beer excellent as you might expect from Fullers. Great locaton too. Thanks again Red Lion!

I've been drinking in her for many years; I usually drink in the "back bar" - the one off to the right as you walk in the door - and more often than not the drinkers around there have to get the attention of bar staff for service; I was finding that they were "out of sight" around the corner chatting. Empty glasses were often on the counter as well. OK, minor things, but when customers are paying £5.50 - £6.50 ish a pint, it's reasonable to expect better than this.

Be very careful ordering drinks at this place. The staff (Gemma) are exceptionally rude. I ordered 2 double spiced runs with a splash of coke. I was charged £27 which i paid. I then reflected and asked the staff why it was so expensive. I was then rudely told management has told the staff to push the house / more expensive drinks. I was then told my tone was in appropriate when asking why wasn't the cheaper options offered. Very rude staff. Stay away. Better going across the road for food and drinks to the Vine. For comparison the same drinks were £16 and the staff much nicer and polite. Stay away.

I was looking for a pleasant hotel close to the Beck Theatre in Hayes, and a thorough search found us the Red Lion part of Fullers and whilst have had food and drink at Fullers pubs before we have never stayed. We chose the highest grade characterful room and included breakfast, free parking, £30 allowance towards dinner, mineral water, an excellent tea and coffee tray with coffee bags and a decent non leaking espresso machine, sugar cubes, milk in the fridge (uht but in a glass bottle and was nicer than little sachets) biscuits and chocolates, a free drink at the bar is also offered. Our room overlooked the church and it was easy to believe you were in a country village. It is lovely to have a separate reception to the bar and comfortable seating in that area too, there are more rooms than you might expect as it has been extended considerably. Check in was lovely, very welcoming, our room was clean and well presented and had some interesting pictures and furniture. There is a bar and slightly separate restaurant area, we enjoyed a starter and main, the regular menu had plenty of choice but the specials menu extended our options further, it was extremely fairly priced and 2 courses was well within our allowance and the glass of wine we had was complimentary as our welcome drink, service was very friendly, and the mains especially were excellent, Lamb and Mint Sausages with mashed potato, peas crispy onions and gravy, and a top drawer beer battered Haddock and Chips fish supper. The bar upon our return on a Saturday evening had a good and lively but not rowdy atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent, top quality Juices, pastries and toast (that you don't have to fight over to make yourself) and a great choice of hot options, we settled for the full English Breakfast, again extremely well sourced ingredients. Whilst we are rarely in this area we will definitely return here when the concert returns next year and will bear in mind for other occasions for a relaxed countryside Village feel so close to Heathrow, Windsor and London. Any improvements? The bathrobes expected weren't in our room and we will ask for our bacon and sausages to be well done next time, but based on this stay we will definitely be seeking out Fullers hotels for future breaks.

Family meal at the Red Lion on Hillingdon Hill (26/8/24), welcoming pub/hotel with enjoyable outdoor space, the menu was not cluttered, the choices are good and tempting, pub classics and new dishes. We have visited before and can recommend the crispy Norfolk chicken wings for starters because they are delicious and perfectly crispy, this visit we tried something different and every course was really good, food was served hot, the haddock and bacon linguine was delicious, steak was flavoursome and tender, chips were piping hot, fluffy & crispy. Every course, starters/mains/desserts/coffee, all excellent. Pleasant efficient staff. Would highly recommend.

The hotel and rooms are very aesthetically pleasing, the grounds and flowers, and the bathroom toiletries are a very nice brand. I love this quintessential English hotel and pub… it is stepped with history - King Charles I is rumored to have been in the tavern on site here in 1646 as he fled Oxford. The King Charles room here is lovely, the four poster bed makes you feel like a princess and is so comfortable that I felt like I was on a fluffy cloud sleeping! The bathroom was spacious with both a bath and walk in shower - only downside was lack of full toiletries - could be because of Covid but no wash cloths, hair conditioner, or cotton bud and wool supplies as the norm. Nice touch in the room is a complimentary bottle of Fullers Ale and a well stocked hot drink and biscuit box. The breakfast offerings are always fresh and tasty - staff are friendly and very nice ensuring you are taken care of. A great place to be before or after Heathrow and the new Fish and Chip shop across the road can be a nice addition too! I really recommend staying and eating here ❣️

We were traveling through the UK on our holiday to the British Isles. My daughter-in-law made a family reservation for 5 of us. We were greeted by a pleasant, professional young lady, named Nancy. She checked my wife and me in and brought us to our room. She gave us the King Charles 1st room with a canopy and 4 bed posts. The room was quaint but older than my son's room. Since the hotel was built in 1646, they tried to keep that look. One wall had the original wood beams sticking out of the plaster to give it that old English look and feel. One problem was that the TV was in a cabinet on the left side of the room and with the 4-post bed frame you could not see the TV. The floor creaked when you walked around the room. I am unsure they left that to give you the feeling of an older 1600’s room. After my first night, I went down to the front desk clerk to tell her I had an exciting thing to tell her. You see, during the night I kept hearing that floor creaking in spots when someone walked over them in the room. The clerk mentioned that other residents who have stayed in that room also reported different things like someone stroking their face or things in the room making noises. Everything in the room was creepy. Cabinet draws would creak if they were open. The room was clean and the housekeeper cleaned daily. One complaint I had was that she would remove the card from the slot that would keep the A/C and lights on. When we would return after a long day of travel it was extremely hot in the room. I left a note the next day and she left the card in the slot. Some of the major hotel chains also do that to save money. The restaurant was great. The food was also very good. My granddaughter was not a big fan of some of the food, as many other teenagers. I want to point out the great things the restaurant staff personnel who went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Nicole would take excellent care of us during breakfast and Gunjeeta our night server also did a fabulous job serving us dinner. Well, if you want to experience the possible poltergeist events, ask for the King Charles room.

My mother was recently admitted to the ICU in Hillingdon Hospital with a very serious and sudden illness. My father and I do not live in London (he lives in Canada and I live in Southampton) and we picked The Red Lion Hotel as it was within walking distance to the hospital and had immediate availability. It was a choice made at random from a google search but we could not have made a better decision. My mother’s condition was very uncertain and over the next 3 weeks there were many ups and downs. Every few days my father was due to check out and had to ask the front desk if he could stay a couple more. I shuttled back and forth between London and Southampton, sometimes on my own and sometimes with 2 small children, booking rooms last minute each time as updates came in from the doctor. Through all of this the entire staff were incredibly kind and compassionate, and more than accommodating of our constantly changing plans. They went above and beyond to make a very difficult time as easy as possible, especially for my father who was so far from home. The proximity to the Red Lion Pub was an added bonus, after long afternoons/evenings spent visiting the ICU we did not need to think about where to find something to eat, the pub was right next door with excellent food and service. I highly recommend a stay at the Red Lion Hotel, whether for family holidays (the very large family room with bunk beds was a big hit with the 2 and 5 year olds) or for visits to in-patients at Hillingdon Hospital. My sincerest thank you to the entire staff.

An IT meltdown at LHR led us to this gem of a hotel. After having our flight canceled along with hoards of people, we took a chance by picking this hotel based on its Booking.com rating. From the moment we walked through the door, our stay far exceeded our expectations. Hotel staff had no way to anticipate the onslaught of stranded travelers, but we were promptly issued a room. The room was basic, clean and well-appointed. The pub served breakfast. The staff gave us explicit directions to the bus (a short walk away) into Uxbridge where we were able to catch the tube to London the following day. Our dinner was excellent. I had delicious fish and chips and spouse had the shepherd's pie. There was an interesting selection of beers, ciders and wine. I would recommend reservations as it seems very popular. The staff seemed up for every challenge from all the unexpected guests, to getting cabs (don't wait until the last minute) and providing accurate accounts. All in all, a wonderful stay.

This is a beautiful old world pub that offers plenty of character and in the main warm and friendly staff. Most notably were the reception team on our arrival that explained most politely that our rooms were having new locks fitted as part of a refurb and as such were not quite ready. We were immediately given a voucher for a complimentary drink each as a result. We had a very nice meal whilst waiting and the rooms were ready within half an hour of our arrival. When we returned in the evening the welcome from the barmaid was less than welcoming as she complained of having to mind the bar alone, was rude when asked what snacks were available and complained about having to prepare a round of drinks as she was 'Finishing in nine minutes to catch her bus home and didn't care what happened to the bar after'. Thankfully once shed left Dan the night porter was most helpful so much so we decided to book breakfast at the pub. The breakfast was very good as was the service from the young waitress who was very attentive. The pub is ideally located for Pinewood studios where we attended a function and is a short Uber ride away. The rooms are clean and comfortable and all but one member of staff, very friendly and accommodating.

The night before we received a phone call from the hotel to inform us that the oven had failed therefore no roast meals would be available on the Sunday - we agreed to continue. We arrived checked in on the afternoon, staff very pleasant hotel/pub very quiet, pleased with the room we went to the bar and had a complimentary drink, went to watch the england rugby but being outside was very chilly even with heater on so returned to room at half time. We went for our evening meal and ordered off the main menu i chose the rack of lamb which was cooke and presented very nicely but was not really filling, again the staff very attentive in an almost empty restaurant. Breakfast was very good. Overall it was okay feel not having the roast available it had probably lost its local regulars and therefore its atmosphere so i can only report as was on our visit.

I find it appalling that Morello Lounge has one girl on the entire shop floor and the restaurant has 35 tables with 3 people on the bar. I work for HR and absolutely shocked at the service they expect from their staff. You can see the waitress is very overwhelmed running back and forth with no help. The young girl with a tattoo on her face is very lovely but I didn’t get her name as she had so much things to do. I am a regular customer and notice this very often so I limit myself to how much I order. I will offer her a job at my office when I see her next because this is not right.
