Food was cold. No staff to help us. Chef reluctantly warmed it up. It was cheap but still poor value. Will not be going back anytime soon.

Came here for a large group get together with adults and kids. After a little mix up of booking area, we were given a large area all to ourselves. Staff were helpful and friendly and food came as ordered and was tasty. Great range of options for all dietary requirements. Good that you can pay as you go at the bar for an informal gathering. Recommended for cheap and cheerful food and drink for a relaxed get together for large groups. Thanks for having us :)

The pub is very peculiar inside, huge and spacious. Waitress were kind and efficient, food disappointing, unfortunately. We ordered literally 2 chicken burgers, that arrived after 45mins later. Thanks to the waitress me and my husband received the meal, because she kindly reminded the chefs that we were still waiting. Once received the meals, my husband's chicken burger was totally cold, means that it was prepared and left in the kitchen for all the time we've been waiting; cutleries were dirty with white spots on and pieces of old food not properly washed away. Overall I would give 5 stars for the atmosphere, but the lowest score to the food and cleaning.

Attended, seats are completed ripped. Service wasn’t good, had walk around the place half the time to ask for it. Starters arrived 45 minutes to an hour after we placed order, finished main and 15 minutes later the starter arrived. Beef was no edible and pure fat. Personally awful and we have been local business owners ate ding most restaurants for 20 years now. This place was very disappointing.

We visited for lunch so can only comment on the food available at that time. Good tasty and well cooked selection of of meat, vegetables and pudding options. Food kept at good temperature. Large portions. Excellent service with very helpful and friendly staff. Surfaces and dinnerware were clean. Decor and seating need a little updating.

I visited on Sunday lunchtime as normal I had a large carvery as normal the meat was tender and a decent portion the veg selection was ok I would liked to have seen some broccoli the staff were polite as usual and the restaurant was clean I would like to see a few real ales in the red lion currently none overall a decent carvery a good place to watch football as well

first visit for 12 months as visiting family(im not local) great choice of veg for meat free carvery, only (tiny gripe) some veg could have been hotter and veg gravy could be thicker but will return next time im in barnett

I had the pizza birthday party for my daughter. We had a small private room so that the noise of the children won’t disturb other customers. The host, Grace, was amazing. She got everything well prepared and knew how to control the over excited kids. All the guest had a wonderful experience.

Lovely carvery, pleasant chefs and front of restaurant staff. My only concern is that, as usual, the food isn't hot enough, usually lukewarm and sometimes I have to get my meal zapped. Somehow the food should be stirred every so often to maintain some heat. Putting gravy on doesn't always make it hotter. Otherwise it's lovely.

I have been before and had a good carvery, however this time was not good at all. Service was great but the food was so dry and chewy it was almost inedible. I had the roast beef, which looked fine but was as tough as a proverbial boot. The stuffing was so dry I couldn't even serve it up and even the Yorkshire pudding was like eating a plastic bag. Quite sad as I will not be taking a chance of returning now.

We had a lovely breakfast at the Red Lion - we hadn't booked and there were more if us than we'd anticipated so they did a fabulous job at catering for us all. Michelle was great at letting us know how the system worked and making sure we had all we wanted. The whole party were very happy with the choice and supply of cooked brekkie available. I really enjoyed the waffles and bacon with my all-you-can-eat breakfast. The mushrooms were a great addition too.

The carvery has gone down hill over the last couple of years. They now only have two meat choices on a Wednesday and Thursday, three on a Friday and Saturday, and four on a Sunday. I went on Thursday and was disappointed. The slices of turkey were extremely thin. The chef was teaching a new staff member how to make pizza. He should be concentrating on the carvery. The veg was ok...the roast potatoes very good. There has also only been one gravy option for a while. There used to be standard, vegetarian and onion iirc. The staff are still friendly and welcoming but they know what they are doing is wrong. I wonder if the two meat thing is Accross the Toby restaurants or just the red lion.....? If I do go again I shall see if there is a no meat roast option. It used to be a really good meal for a reasonable price yet the price goes up and the quality and quantity go down. Lots of people go in there for a 'good meal'...older people, people with less money than others. Sad to see it go down like this and no 'good meal' for anyone on a Monday or Tuesday. I think High Barnet is slowly dying.

Went there after a long time. Ordered some wing and battered mushrooms . Wings were fine, but the mushrooms were oily. Asked for Tabesco. Reply from the server was your wings have already got sauce. I can't give you Tabesco. You have to order another dip!! Sorry for asking!!🙄 BTW the bar staff was polite and helpful

Used to love the carvery at Red Lion. But the last time I went it didn't taste of anything. The mash used to be lovely and buttery, seasoned well. But thus time it tasted of nothing. The gravy had no taste, neither did the stuffing! Will be returning to Toby from now on

We just come from visiting the pub , woooooow I’m really disappointed with the staff rude attitude! Food was ok but the member of staff unprofessional and rude and for that reason we won’t return here any more. Very disappointed

I really enjoyed my time at the red lion staff were friendly. We got a carvery which was far better than other top carvery places. Dessert was good although the custard with the cake could’ve been a lot warmer.

Over the years this used to be a really good place to come to eat a carvery or other decent stuff like pizza with a pint. Nowadays, the food quality has dropped massively! Came here on Father's day and ordered various meals. All meals ordered were either dry, undercooked or were just generally not to the standard that you'd expect from a pub grub venue like this. The manager of the venue is very polite, friendly and willing to help you wherever he can. The new kid serving drinks behind the bar, however, not so much. No smile, no customer service, just got a moody look when ordering. It's still a decent place to come for a drink and to watch some footy, but I won't be eating here again - that's for sure.

Took my partner here as a thank you for all she does for me as my carer and couldn’t believe how downhill it’s gone. Staff walking round with faces like smacked bums, no turkey, no pigs in blanket, heating lights turned down so low everything was almost cold. Tables felt sticky, no apple sauce. Couldn’t wait to finish eating and left after 15 minutes.

Another special occasion spent at the red lion, & another lovely meal & time with family. Thank you Staff at the Red Lion, we will be back.

As usual for this carvery food is not really hot enough. Asked gor Small "child- sized" meal for my 93 year old Dad. Was told they don't do child sized on a Sunday, only to hear the table next to us have one. For the huge number of people packed in there today, they really wouldn't have lost much on one adult meal. Instead of pushing him into having an adult size plate & leaving feeling bad because he couldn't manage it. We still go there because the venue is familiar to my Dad, who has dementia.

Very quiet but it was late afternoon, the roast potatoes are to die for , staff are very welcoming, all in all not a bad 2-3 hours 👍💯

I have been visiting this Red Lion since 2015. A great place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bar area is fabulous and the restaurant sitting area is comfy. The carvery is super delicious - thanks to the chefs! In addition, the staff are very nice and helpful, especially Kayleigh. What's more, there's a beautiful garden sitting place with plenty of flowers. Come on to visit this gentle lion!

Food wasn't the best this time. We came around 6pm and had the roast dinner, so only had what was the left overs. Definitely come during the lunchtime rush as the food is fresh then. Staff are always lovely and helpful.

We had a lovely unrushed Sunday lunch with 5 adults, two children and one baby. Charlie was our host and he was patient helpful and very kind and went over and beyond his duty.
