A fabulous little cafe in an equally fabulous location. Welly/dog friendly it’s definitely worth a visit. We had coffees and cakes which were all fine. Just a note on the hot chocolate’s please make with milk not water - seriously rejected by 10 year old LOL Lovely decor and ambience.

I have been coming to The Rhynd for years mostly after fitness sessions at Rhynd Fitness out the back but often with my partner and dog too - staff are so friendly - I don’t even need to say what coffee I’m having now - cakes are also amazing - especially after a workout 🏋️♀️/ it’s a gorgeous place to enjoy sitting out in the courtyard in the summer and equally as nice inside too - I love The Rhynd 😀😀😀😀😀

Unacceptable experience. I went here with my mum for breakfast. We got served instantly and ordered our food and drinks. Drinks came within minutes but after an hour out breakfast still hadn't came. The staff were walking past us regularly and asked if we wanted more drinks about 45 mins in. After a while My mum was Loki g at the staff being the till trying to get their attention so we could as where our food was. She then went over and asked and they stated that the food had not been ordered properly on the till and we had now missed the breakfast window. Awful service. I'd of thought the lady who served us may have wondered why we sat there so long and no food was being prepared. It wasn't even busy, there was 3 customers in there. We opted to not stay for food but they happily charged us for the drinks, including the apple juice I decided to not have as we were leaving. Waste of my morning and I definitely do not recommend this place to others

We had a lovely lunch here. Service was very friendly. My daughter and her husband had the special burger - venison with goat cheese and bramble jam. They said it was sublime. My husband had the regular beef burger. It was juicy and flavorful. I had the chicken tikka “burger,” although it was actually a grilled chicken breast, not a burger. Nevertheless, it was delicious. Not at all dry, with a tikka masala sauce on one side and chutney on the other. Yum. There is a an array of cakes to choose from for dessert. All looked equally tantalizing. Coffee drinks were perfect for a chilly day.

Thought we would give the Rhynd a go as usually go to St Michael's Inn. Breakfast was terrible overcooked eggs and black pudding. The sausage was going off. hashbrown was burnt and you needed binoculars to find the butter for the toast. The coffee was like dishwater. When we did get the overcooked food there really wasn't much there certainly not any value for money imho.

Dropped in and to be honest I was not impressed with the place and found the menu a bit lacking in choices but we ordered a couple of coffee lates with a portion of chops and a couple of scones with raspberry jam as this was the only jam they had and our expectations were low However surprisingly the lates were really good the chips were delicious and the scones and raspberry jam were an absolute delight Don’t go expecting anything and you’ll be surprised as we were and it was excellent taste wise

Ordered a chicken salad with a buttermilk dressing. The chicken was grey and chewy, and the salad was extremely bland. The ‘buttermilk’ dressing was a watery vinaigrette. Completely overpriced food given the cost. I sent the food back, however, and was given a refund without any trouble.

Visited today, Ordered a coronation chicken sandwich, on brown bread for me and white for my husband. Although there was a good amount of chicken, the coronation part was a sauce spread on the bread, very thinly. The bread was dry and may have been more edible if there had been some butter on it. The young staff were nice and the service was quick, just a pity about the food. It is a nice place, and I haven’t tried any of the other food available so I would recommend that if you do go there avoid the coronation chicken!

The Rhynd is a farm cafe midway between Tayport and St Michaels in Fife and one turns down a farm road, past Craigie Farm and about a mile and a half East from the Tayport road. The cafe is a converted barn with delightful young staff. Caitlin looked after us very well and my wife and I both opted for the plain beef burger, without cheese and bacon, in a large, round, brioche bun. It came with two types of relish, nice salad with dressing and wonderful crispy chips, all for £7:95. We enjoyed free tap water and as I write this six hours after eating, I am still full! The toilets were immaculate and the whole eating experience was first class.

I do wish places could be rated on a 1-10 scale here, so this for us is a 4.5. Why? Well, it’s just a cafe. At least the part open to the public is. Its decor is nothing we haven’t see a hundred times over 10-15 years ago in world cities, but it does take venues a while to catch-up up here in Scotland; especially in rural areas. There’s nothing original or unique about The Rhynd, but it is a pleasant enough place to go for a spot of lunch or a coffee - if you can justify going that much out of your way, of course... Perhaps there are enough locals for it to satisfy both them and itself... Our food was decent, and the coffee was ok, the service was nice enough, and the eating area is clean. The toilets, however, are perhaps in need of a little attention. Quirky is one thing, but when your trough sink is like something you’d see in a field with algae growing on it, maybe it’s time to get a new sink... We weren’t enthralled enough to make a return visit, however, you might feel differently. Go and see for yourself. It might just be the best thing you’ve experienced to date...

On first impressions when we arrived, was that the cafe was cold and felt damp and all the guests had there coats on. There was no heating on in the building and we asked the staff if they could put the wood burning fire on to warm up the guests. The staff said they would try and light the stove and 20 minutes later it was still struggling despite the effort of several staff. I read the review in the Courier which was the reason for our visit, and can totally disagree with everything. The outlook was bleak, no flowers, and just a stone wall. Whilst the food was OK, the coffee was lukewarm. The interior looked unfinished and it appears the owner is unwilling to finish the project. (fire lighters would help)

After a lovely walk along the beach in Tentsmuir we were looking for a wee coffee and cake to snack on. We were welcomed by the friendly staff who told us they had more seating upstairs as the ground floor was busy, and that we order at the cafe bar. Cakes and small snacks were displayed in the counter which enticed us to order three sausage rolls, victoria sponge, two fruit scones, three black coffees, three flat whites (one with soy milk) and a vanilla latte. The service was quick, efficient and welcoming. The rustic high quality design was beautiful. The toilets had ‘who gives a crap’ toilet roll which is eco friendly that donates money to toilets to those in need, this was a nice touch. Rustic, high quality, friendly and I would definitely visit again.

We were heading to Tentsmuir Forest in Fife, and the sign for the cafe appeared out of nowhere, just as my wife said she really needed a coffee! A converted farm building, I can imaging this is a great spot for cyclists touring around the East Neuk and looking for a pit stop. Funky hipster-style interior that would not look out of place in London or Stockholm. We just had coffee and a scone. Coffee was great, and the scones (I had fruit, my wife had cranberry) delicious. Have to mark them down a bit for the squirty cream though. Dog friendly (inside), which is refreshing to find, and the staff were lovely, explaining why the motorbike memorabilia was all around the walls (owner is an enthusiast). They do weddings too!

Do go, this is a great local initiative that deserves support. If I lived nearer than I currently do (Buckinghamshire), it would be a regular treat for me. The venue is a delight and there has been excellent attention to detail to create a modern cafe without losing the farm heritage. I loved the 'trough' sink in the ladies and the industrially influenced taps and many other innovative nods to the previous use of the building. I had breakfast there with friends and they had smashed avocado on toast while I had traditional poached eggs. We asked for our coffees to be served after breakfast and they were delivered right on time.

After running at Tentsmuir forest my friend and I stopped in for breakfast. The place is really nice and on a cold day was warm with a fire and a heater. The young guy who is the supervisor had an answer for everything and didn’t make us feel particularly welcome. The food was great but expensive and it seems that the upstairs gets used for parties so people were lugging cakes and balloons upstairs whilst leaving the door wide open. In this day and age with the choices available, your customer service needs to be first class to retain customers. I prefer the community cafe in Tayport at a fraction of the price and a more welcoming ambiance.

This is the best coffee shop in St Andrews - but only in terms of the coffee and the food. I love the drinks and the bagels especially are *french kiss* but I would love to be able to come and sit, and enjoy my bagel at a table. The issue is that the already limited seating is taken up by students who have pretty much always finished their drinks. I really think it would be a good idea to have maybe half of the seats reserved for people who just want to come and sit for 10 minutes to have a drink because the shop itself is so nice and clearly very well finished. As a student myself I know there are plenty of study spaces in town so a study free area surely wouldn't meet much resistance? I for one would visit the cafe much more often, instead of just for takeaways. That said, the staff are amazing and the coffee is superb.

My husband and I visited here today and ordered a cup of spicy lentil soup and a sandwich cost £10 each. The food arrived and my cup of soup was only half full and my husband's 3/4 full.I took my soup back and was told you only get one ladle.I said it should be a cupful as stated but was told no.I went back to my seat but was livid as I hate to be ripped off.I asked for the manager and the guy on the till said I will give you more soup which he did.The soup was lovely and the sandwiches also good made with lovely bread. The guy came over to take the plates and said he was sorry he upset me and I said you didn't upset me and I had been annoyed at being done.He apologised and offered me a free lunch.I advised I am only here for the day.The next thing he was back with 2 sweets in a box with forks and napkins to eat later.I thanked him for the cakes. We had them with coffee later on and delicious. I don't know the guys name but you have restored my faith in humanity and the cafe.We will visit again and encourage others to do so also.Thank you for your understanding.

Wish this was near our wee golf course in Musselburgh. 😉 Will stop by again if we are in Ladybank for sure. Thanks Kirsty,Phil and Theo.
