The Riftswood in Tamworth

We're frequent visitors here, when usually it's a decent place. Tonight however, was 1 flame thrower away from an apocalypse. Multiple families with unruly kids running round screaming, loud enough to pierce any conversation trying to be had by us and other families....a very weird atmosphere tonight. The service was a lot slower tonight too, we stood waiting with 2 other couples for 12 minutes at the front desk for someone to show us a table. The food came out but we were unfortunate enough to have been sat at a table where the cutlery had been taken before we arrived. Genuinely happy to have left tonight.

The Riftswood Pub offered a fairly busy atmosphere during our afternoon visit. Despite the rush, the staff were quick to serve our food, which we found to be very pleasant and reasonably priced.

Always good fresh food and excellent service by Adam and the team. Recommended.

I went for a meal there was 6 of us the service was quick, the meals was really nice and the staff was really friendly I will definitely go back.

Warm welcome, was seated straight away food arrived within 15 minutes very tasty burger and chips. Possibly needed some music instead of listening to loads of other people's conversations

I feel like this place never fails to impress me. Cheap food, reasonably priced beer. Yes it could do with a good paint but I like it just the way it is.

Had a festive 3 course meal. It was literally shocking. Was supposed to be a turkey dinner with trimmings for the main. The meat was 2 round slices of reconstituted Bernard Matthews type sandwich filler. There were 2 pieces of potato, the smallest yorkie the size of a jam tart filled with a stuffing ball and a tiny chipolata that had been cremated. The seasonal vegetables were peas and carrots. That was it. Was very hungry so tried to eat it all but only managed half. The apple pie dessert was burnt and the custard instant made with hot water. Disgusting. The staff were embarrassed and very attentative. I felt sorry for them. There were 5 in our party. We were all very disappointed.

Whilst the food was ok the service was not. At one point we were in the que for a drink for over 20 mins. Only 1 person on the bar then eventually another young lady appeared. It was fairly busy and plenty of staff walking around but not on the bar. So we only had 2 drinks all night as we didn’t want another long wait. Which is a shame.

I felt at ease the moment I walked through the door, clean & cosy food was beautiful the best lasagne I ever tasted, and the staff so welcoming, highly recommend

Popped in to the pub this lunch time for a quick drink. Bar Staff very professional, quick and polite. Decided to stop for a bite to eat, and the food was of a high quality and served very quickly even though the pub seemed really busy. Also nice to see the Manager, Kieran working, as a lot of pubs they never seem to be seen. Highly recommend a visit and to try the food out, will definitely be returning.

Lovely staff,amazing assistance. The food was amazing and well cooked but the car park was small bit luckily it weren't that busy but other than that I recommend coming here.

Greeted very quickly and shown to our table. Told how to order and also told what food wasn’t available. Little wait at the bar more nothing to excessive. Food came out quick and was very tasty. Staff were very friendly and made us felt welcome.

We came here not long ago, Food was great, lovely and hot! We made this our local as we too work in ours also! Helen and the team are great! We always love salad and my son loves ice cream from there! Great job team!

my food was fabulous please give the chef poppy and ped and selena a big hug and tell them that i think they’re awesome they gave me an extra scoop of ice cream AND strawberries on my dish i had a big smile on my face and all my troubles had vanished. i am not being sarcastic. thankyou. also helen is lovely.

We regularly visit here for food as the food is outstanding and great for value always enjoyable we also enjoy taking part every now and then in the quiz as the quizmaster Andy makes it a fun night. Staff are all very pleasant on every visit.

Booked for breakfast on the Sizzling Booking facility . Arrived with Family and found the place to be closed. No breakfast. Why was I able to book for a Family of Four. ? So disappointing.

Came for food with my elderly mother as it was her 67th birthday and the staff were really friendly and attentive to her needs (we asked for a table with padded seats as she has back problems and we were allowed to sit in one of the large booths) The food itself was amazing and perfect just cooked to perfection Our server was called Adam and i think my mom might have fancied him as she went up to order a dessert from him on the bar even though she never eats dessert Cannot recommend this restaurant enough we will definitely be back Five stars

Went with my family for a meal had the two meals for 12.50 and the steak and chicken combo the food came out fast the steak and chicken combo came out on a sizzling plate it an eye opener I highly recommend here to anyone

The food is amazing and the quality is good, the staff are very accommodating and lovely the place is always spotless and very busy. Would happily recommend to family and friends and anyone who isn’t local

Staff were not pleasant at all never came round to check food was ok. Very abrupt and ignorant. Food was nice such a shame the atmosphere is not good unhappy workers spring to mind

Pub grub, gets busy at usual times, hot day just had salads. Nice and drinks

First time visit and must say absolutely fantastic family place to eat, the food was absolutely amazing and tasty was served promptly and well presented (I had seasoned salmon) really really good food. The staff we're wonderful and very hard working, you can see they work very hard but still have a lovely attitude towards customers really appreciated thankyou. The only thing I would say is maybe another member of staff is needed as it looked like all the staff and managers work very hard to keep the place running great and it is great you really should all be very proud of the way you all work, Amazing. Highly recommend a visit or two to the Riftswood sizzler Thankyou again. Joe

We went there tonight to celebrate my 40th (19th July) service was quick and the food was well presented, a couple of flies landed on my daughters meal so she refused to eat it, spoke to a lovely man and told him what had happened and he swapped the meal for a fresh one. Couldn’t have asked for a better service. Everyone enjoyed there meals and the children enjoyed the secure space outside to play. Will definitely go back again

Came for breakfast on the 7th of July, friendly quick service, chilled atmosphere, good value. Had a small breakfast and orange juice, tidy clean place but could do with an upgrade/refurb.

My local pub for some 22 years - the place has changed rapidly over the years, but the staff are very friendly and accommodating, especially to regular customers. Helen is a godsend, and nothing is too much trouble

I came in for breakfast this morning and it was lovely, there was unlimited coffee, tea and toast, the classic breakfast is a decent sized portion for the price as well, and the staff are really welcoming. I would definitely recommend this as a spot for breakfast in Tamworth if you need somewhere to go in the morning.

Food was good at my last visit on 13th May, however I was disappointed when it came to order when allot of menu items were not available. There was no sign displayed at the front and we were not advised of these item shortages until it was time to order, leading to me having to return to the table to see what alternatives my party wanted.

Great selection of beer! The team are always wonderful and polite especially Helen and Ellie both girls are great members of the team! Bring back the breakfasts!

Made welcome, took my disabled brother for lunch, very accommodating and the food was hot, good portion sizes and tasty, Good value for money. We asked to moved to another table as my brother was getting a bit warm in the conservatory and we were told absolutely no problem to move.

Went for a family meal for granddaughters birthday. Well looked after quick efficient service. My granddaughter enjoyed her meal as did we all .

Still not a place I'd like to keep revisiting.

Always come on a sunday night for the quiz great atmosphere lots of friendly faces. Staff very welcoming and food always great value for money.

It's good value food. Certainly not going to win any awards but it's ok for the money. Car park gets super busy so go early or park on road near by.

Good food,with one exception, my husbands steak was inedible but it was quickly rectified by offering a new steak.

We came because we saw that kids eat for £1 we saw this advertised on the kids menu but when we got the receipt we paid full price for the kids, it was then explained that because we chose a drink and desert we don't get the kids eat for £1 this was not in plain sight in the menu, the lady taking our money did not explain this, we only found out because we questioned it. My meal came out and it was burnt, I was really disappointed as normally perfect. They didn't have cool original for doritos. My little girl went to the toilet and come back with tears because the toilet roll had fallen on her, it was resting ontop of the toilet roll holder and fell off, I suffer with mental health and I didn't feel strong enough to question or report any of this but I'm disgusted with paying a £50 bill to get treated like this. I will not be recommending this place to anyone any more and I really don't think we will go back

Big shout to the little blond behind the bar. Don't worry people it was said nicely. Actually one of the best pints of guiness I'd had in a long time. Staff really friendly and nothing to much for them. Will 100% be popping back in very soon!

Haven’t been in here for a while but can honestly say I probs wouldn’t go back.. the food was okay chips were over cooked on almost all the meals.. most of us didn’t eat them.. also one of my mates had a dirty glass given to them it had lipstick 💄 on it.. not good enough really for us as we are paying the money.. atmosphere was okay and the staff were friendly but all in all rather disappointed.. 😞

Really good, a bit pokey and cramped and it was too warm inside but the food was great and super value for money. The vegan burger was an absolutely amazing but there is only really one “grown up” vegetarian menu choice.

I had such a lovely evening at the Riftswood with my family. The food was lovely and the staff were warm & welcoming. We were seated by a lovely woman named Laura she was really helpful and ensured I had everything I needed for my children to be seated comfortably which really took some pressure off and made arriving at a venue much more relaxed and enabled us to settle for our meal easy. I give the service 5 stars because I can honestly say they were very helpful. It was a lovely night out.

We did a groupon deal for £20. Food was cold and bland, service was fine and it’s a nice pub…..would likely go for a drink there but from a food perspective I’d rather eat mud in all truth….this based on our own experience so obviously be your own judge but there are much much better local places to eat. I honestly figured at £20 we couldn’t really go wrong….sadly it was me that was wrong! £25 when you take into consideration drinks!! 2 pot noodles woulda cost me around £3 and would’ve tasted better!!

The Riftswood is a warm friendly pub, the staff are very helpfull. I don`t think it can be improved

We really enjoyed the festive menu, food was delicious. Needed more staff on the bar and its a shame they are no longer taking part of Meerkcat meals as we regularly eat there. All in all its a good pub/restaurant at a reasonable price.

We had a lovely time. There was 16 of us. We was greeted with lovely smile and showed to the table, the service at the bar when we ordered drinks and food my daughter has a food issue so the chef took time to come out and speak to us even though he was busy and said he would sort it. The food came quickly and was hot and was lovely. The waiting staff was very good and helpful. When ever we went to the bar for more drinks the lady serving us was very nice even though she had a queue and tickets to do. And when we left we had a nice goodbye. Will definitely be back again.

Just had my sons 21st birthday meal here, 12 guests attended I asked for the conservatory, we got it and the food came out and it was hot and just amazing staff were brilliant friendly and I would like to say a big thankyou to all the staff and the manager kerien, and the staff who brought the cake out to us. . So to end this . A good chef great food good family pub. X will be back.

Party of 10. I only booked the day before and they moved things around to accomodate us. Food arrived quickly and was very nice. Will definately coming back and will even join in the quiz :)
